After graduation, Marcus had an incredible opportunity to star as the quarterback for the New York Giants, his favorite muggle football team. Unfortunately, halfway through his second season, Marcus suffered from several torn ligaments, ending his season and career early. Much throughout school, he always had a knack for sports, and while he expect his career to center around playing American football, Marcus wanted to do something with his fascination for the muggle entertainment. Thus, when the opportunity arose for him to teach a specially made subject at Hogwarts, Marcus jumped at the position. Being a very knowledgable teacher, he often finds himself repeating himself once or twice so the students understand him, or staying after class to patiently tutor a child. This doesn't bother him though, as he loves to spread what he knows unto others. Although Marcus is a former Ravenclaw himself, he has a soft spot for Gryffindors. The desired house for his younger self, the Professor finds pride in the house's intelligence. But he also loves teaching the other classes, especially if the kids are genuinely interested in the course’s material.
the good man is friends to all living things
Marcus would never turn away a student or colleague in need. He often goes out of his way to ensure the people he interacts with are okay, making sure their home life is doing well, and offering assistance in whatever they might need. He’d offer a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. He generally tries to be nice and understanding to his students. I can see him having friends of all ages.
hatred isn’t easy to let go
Marcus generally wouldn’t have too many enemies at Hogwarts, since he tries to be such a nice guy. Perhaps if a student doesn’t like his class or teaching style, they might not like Marcus. However, considering that he’s the leader for the Death Squadron, he might have a ton of enemies outside of school. Especially those with an affiliation with the Marauders.
there’s no simple way to say i love you
Although it doesn’t come up much, Marcus is a totally family man, and would do anything for his younger brother and sister. With that said, he would also love to settle down sometime soon, and start his own family. He’s just waiting for the right woman, who shares his love for sports and his ideas on the war, to come along.
