audrey got really annoyed at people who tried to talk louder for her or talked extra slow for her. she's been deaf since she was little; she knew how to read people's lips and how to understand people who didn't use sign. she could read lips going really fast and really slow. she wasn't an idiot, she knew how to read lips. but apparently other people didn't understand that. she especially hated her fellow slytherins that did that and did it on purpose. that's just how they were and they knew they were getting on her absolute nerves. sometimes audrey just wanted to take her hearing aids out and just block everything out. with her hearing aids she could hear some noises, but not many. she couldn't hear people, barley or at all.
audrey rolled her eyes for no apparent reason and played her game boy. the game boy shouldn't be working at hogwarts but it did. she put a spell on it so that it would work. audrey was good with spells. she was currently playing pokemon, the older version. nobody was really around, some poeple were still getting back from the holidays. she didn't visit her parents during the break, she stayed at hogwarts but her sister went and visited them. they always liked her sister more than they liked her. probably because audrey was their weird child who's deaf, something that they never wanted to happen. but she got sick when she was only a week or two old and they couldn't do anything. audrey sat on a bench in the transfiguration courtyard and heard someone coming up behind her. audrey looked up for a moment and saw tyler zabini, her best friend and future husband. she put her gameboy down and litearly tackled him from behind. "hey ty."

All in all, it had been a pretty decent day for Tyler. He had gotten up pretty early, but he had also picked up an early breakfast. Though everyone thought he was crazy for thinking so, he was absolutely positive that the food in the Great Hall was much better first thing in the morning and got less flavorful as the day wore on. After that, he had spent a good portion of the day working on homework and just goofing off. As per usual, it was more goofing around than homework, but eventually he was able to put a finished essay to the side with a successful smile on his face. He wasn't a bad student, by any means, but he did sometimes find himself spending more time doing, well, anything else. His essay was done now, though, so he felt he deserved a break to go do something genuinely fun with his time. Ty had no idea what that would entail, but he was ready for whatever the day would bring.
Pulling a sweater on, Tyler left from the Slytherin dormitories to start walking about. Surely he would run into someone exciting and thereby find something worth doing with his time. Not looking for any spot in particular, Tyler started to wander around, finding himself headed over towards the Transfiguration courtyard. Unbeknownst to him at the time, his best friend and future wife was there as well and he jumped with a startled yelp when he felt her tackling him from behind. "Audreycakes!" he announced with a grin, pulling her into a tight hug when he realized who it was. "What are you up to?" he asked, tilting his head as he spoke. Unlike most people, Ty didn't treat Audrey any different than he would any of his other friends. He never had and he was determined to keep it that way. It was the least he could do for her and certainly something she deserved.

audrey loved that tyler treated her like a normal human being, not like a deaf person. he didn't talk louder like most people did. most people thought that if they talked louder that she would be able to hear them, but they're wrong. she can't hear, at all. even if they screamed, she still wouldn't of been able to hear what they were saying. which is where sign language comes in handy for her. she signs everything, even to people that can hear. she learned sign language while learning how to talk, so it just comes natural to her.
audrey shrugged, "oh, nothing much, nothing at all, actually." she signed as she spoke. it was natural for her. "what've you been up to?" her speech was the worst thing about her, she hated talking, but with tyler it was different. she didn't feel self-concisous about her speech. she felt like a normal human being, that's what he did to her; made her feel normal. she was actually happy that she was going to be marrying her best friend and not some stranger who would judge her and treat her differently.

Nothing at all sounded quite a bit like Tyler's current plans. The fact that she wasn't busy was heartening, though, since that probably meant that Tyler could convince her to let him drag her along to some sort of adventure. He never really knew what his plans were at the start of each day, but that worked for him. Just making things up as he went along was the way to do it. "About the same, here. I did some homework earlier and it was starting to drive me a bit crazy, so here I am," he shrugged. It was a pretty uneventful day overall, which was something he was keen to change as soon as he possibly could. Of course, who better to accomplish that with than with Audrey?
At first, he had been a little weird about the fact that they were betrothed, but he had always had more than just a soft spot for her, so he had quickly become accustomed to it. Ty had liked her for as long as he could remember, though of course he had never acted on those feelings. "How about you and me go out and explore the town or something? Maybe find something new, I don't know," he suggested with a goofy smile. He had probably scoured every bit of Hogsmeade already, but perhaps they could floo over to Diagon or London and just goof around there. Assuming Audrey wasn't busy, that is.

"that sounds like so much fun," audrey said sarcasticly. she grinned and poked him on the nose with her finger and giggled. audrey would love to spend the day with her future husband, although she was supposed to hate him, she didn't. she had strong feelings for him that she would never be able to deny even if she tried her hardest. she loved him, if that's what she felt. her parents "loved" each other, so why shouldn't she be able to feel the same way even if it was an arranged marriage? people thought that she was crazy for having feelings for her best friend.
"oh! yes! i would love to, tyty!" her pet name for him. she either called him ty or tyty, never just plain tyler unless he was angry at him, which isn't all that often. audrey clapped her hands together and jumped a bit. audrey smiled and laughed at herself, then stopped jumping. "what would you like to do, husband?" she asked, putting emphasis on 'husband'. she loved calling him her husband, because he was going to be in just a few years.

It definitely hadn't been the most exciting of days, but it had been productive and that counted for something. "Oh, you have no idea," he responded with a laugh. To be honest, homework had pretty much been the last thing that he had wanted to do that day, but he hadn't had much of a choice. He would much rather have spent it doing something fun and actually enjoying himself. However, now that most of his work was out of the way, he figured that he had the rest of the day to spend it doing whatever he wanted to, which fortunately would include hanging around with Audrey. Even if some people seemed to judge the fact that they actually did like each other, despite their situation, he didn't care. It worked out for him and he was more than happy with it.
Grinning as she agreed to doing something, Tyler couldn't help but feel like her excitement was rather infectious. She had that smile that just caught on and he couldn't drop his grin for even a moment. "Well, wifey dearest, I was thinking we could head over to Hogsmeade, maybe floo to London and walk around the muggle stores or something?" he suggested with a shrug. It was a decent enough suggestion, as far as he was concerned. "It could be pretty fun," he added, though he was sure that anything he did with Audrey would be fun, no matter what they ended up doing.

audrey laughed, "i bet it was a party in the common room; studying and being rebellious because you skipped a few questions." audrey could be the most harsh person when it came to her sarcasm, but with tyler it was different. she tried her best not to be mean to him. "i should probably start studying for that herbolody test that we have on thursday, i haven't even started!" audrey was a slacker, but still got great marks, better than her sister sometimes.
audrey smiled and clapped her hands together once more, "it sounds great! you have the best ideas ever." audrey took her game boy and shoved it into her bag that was on her shoulder. "i love muggle stores, they're so different and i don't know, muggle-ish." she giggled and laced her fingers with his, without really noticing what she was doing. she was so focused on tyler that she didn't even notice her actions towards him.

If there was anything about Audrey that made him laugh, it was her ability to comment on just about anything with a sarcasm to rival that of anyone else he knew. Usually it cut into people, but he was typically spared the worst of it. "A few questions? Come on, Aud, you know if I'm going to break the rules, I have to skip at least seven. Any less than that and I'm just a poser," he replied, laughing yet again. He was probably the last person on the planet you could consider a rebel of any sort. He was usually a very mellow guy, did what he needed to do and really only caused trouble when he was out pulling goofy pranks, but even then he didn't hurt anyone more than just their pride. His nose crinkled up at her mention of the herbology exam, since he hadn't exactly started studying yet himself. "We should look over stuff later, get a group together for it or something," he suggested. He usually found it easier to study with a small group of friends, even if it got a little unproductive at times.
Grinning as Audrey agreed to his plan, he stepped forward as she linked their hands together. It was such a natural thing now that he didn't even register it as it was happening. Keeping close next to her, Tyler started heading over to Hogsmeade so they could find a place to floo from. "Yeah, maybe we could even find a gaming store while we're there. Pick up something new to play," he suggested. A lot of people thought it quite weird that the two of them enjoyed playing old muggle games, but Ty personally found them rather interesting and certainly more entertaining than class ever could be.

Audrey was far from a rebel in the eyes of her teachers, she was a perfect and quiet student inside the classroom, her teachers loved her. She studied just enough to get good grades, she got just above average. But this year she would have to study a lot for her o.w.l.s. her parents were expecting a lot out of her and she wasn't planning on disappointing them one bit. To her classmates, she was a prankster and a bit of rebellious. She went by her own rules half of the time and always got away with it just because she could. Whenever you heard about some prank happening you either expect it to be audrey or fred weasley. Audey frowned, she didn't have many friends, just tyler and some slytherins that didn't find her sarcasm offensive. "Or it could just be us two? I'm not really liked all that much... it's either the sarcasm or the deafness." She loved it when it was just the two of them, maybe because she was madly in love with him.
Audrey squeezed his hand tightly as they started to walk towards hogsmeade. "You know me too well." She smiled and bit her lip, trying to descide when to ask him or to ask him at all. "Ty..." she began to say, trying to descide what exactly to say to him. "Would, uh, you like to go on a date with me sometime... you don't have to if you don't wanna... but I like you more than a friend and uh..." she trailed off and waited impatiently for him to say something.

It always pained Ty when he heard Audrey putting herself down. Though it was true that there were definitely that group of people that didn't like her very much since she was different, not everyone in the school was like there. In fact, he had plenty of friends himself that would have been happy to hang out with Audrey or study with her or something. "Oh, well, yeah of course. If you're more comfortable with just me than that's fine. I don't think as many people hate you as you seem to believe though," he nodded. Of course, Tyler was the sort of guy that hated to see anyone uncomfortable for any reason, so typically he would pretty much do anything anyone asked of him, though it was much more so in the case of Audrey. She meant a lot to him and if he could do anything, no matter how small it was, to make her feel just a bit better about herself, than he would do it no questions asked.
Grinning from ear to ear, Tyler was more than happy to walk over to Hogsmeade just like that. It felt right to him. He had always been so protective and caring towards Audrey that it just seemed to fit that he would eventually develop more than just feelings of friendship towards her. "You know, I would absolutely love to, though to be honest I just assumed that you knew I felt that way about you," he admitted with a bit of a shrug. Based on how often they hung out and some of the things he said towards her, he hadn't exactly attempted to hide the fact that he was, well, falling in love with her. "How about tomorrow night? I'll take you to dinner or an arcade or something," he suggested with a smile as he pushed open the gate to Hogsmeade, letting Audrey in first before following after quickly.

audrey frowned, she hadn't even noticed that he had those feelings towards her, she always thought it was for their parents or that they would always be friends, friends that were engaged and to be married off after hogwarts. "oh..." she trailed off, not knowing what else to say afterwards. "i-i didn't realize... i'm really stupid," she blushed bright red and tried to hide it in his shoulder. audrey would always be the last person to know if someone had a crush on her, she was completely oblivious to those sort of things. audrey lifted her head from his shoulder and smiled small, sure she felt like an idiot for not realizing sooner, but she felt relieved that everything was out in the open, she didn't have to hide falling in love with him any longer. "i've always had these feelings for you... they've always been there." she swung their hands rhythmically between them and smiled, her whole face lighting up.
audrey nodded, smiling. "i love arcades, i basically love anything that involves video games," audrey was the biggest video game nerd around, a bigger one than the longbottom kid, which was hard to beat. "if it's dinner then nothing too fancy," she smiled, "i don't like fancy things, they're... too fancy." audrey hated fancy restaurants, big fancy parties that her parents were always invited to, dresses that her mother dressed her up in till she learned how to stick up for herself. audrey would wear a dress or a skirt on occasion, but not all that much, she preferred jeans or a shorts, something more comfortable.

To be honest, Tyler was a bit surprised that Audrey had never noticed his feelings towards her. Though he was a nice guy, he went above and beyond for that girl and he would have done anything for her. "It doesn't make you stupid, Aud. It just makes me bad at showing it," he shrugged. He'd much rather take the blame for it himself than have Audrey thinking that she was stupid, since she was anything but. Smiling softly as she rested her head on his shoulder, Tyler had to say that he was extremely glad that they were having this conversation. What he had with Audrey meant the world to him and to be able to openly show that all of the time would be huge. "Hard to resist the Tyler Zabini charm, isn't it?" he said with a bit of a chuckle. He was just kidding around about that, since he wasn't at all the kind of guy that thought they were eleven kinds of awesome.
Of course, Tyler had known that about Audrey, considering they played games together pretty frequently. So, an arcade seemed like a perfect place to go for a date between the two of them. They could hang around, play games and just generally have a good time. "Oh, yeah, no. I was thinking just whatever little joints were around the arcade or something. Nothing too big," he shrugged. He was completely with Audrey on that one. He didn't mind going to big, fancy functions when he had to, but usually he preferred more low-key stuff. No more than a few minutes later, they were at Hogsmeade and to one of the stores they could quickly floo from to get to London. "Ready to head out to London, than?" he asked, looking over at Audrey with an excited smile.

"no it doesn't! i'm oblivious to everything and anything that has to do with this sort of thing." audrey was very oblivious to anything that had to do with romance and showing affection. she could show affection when she wanted to, she usually just kept it hidden away so she wouldn't get her heart broken. "y'know, you're the only person who calls me aud, i like it," she smiled at him. her parents both called her audrey and so did her sister, some of her friends made up stupid nicknames for her, like zelda because she loves princess zelda and link so much. she liked that tyler was the only person who called her aud, he was also the only person allowed to call her that. "it must be the smile," she poked him in the stomach playfully.
"it sounds perfect, then." tyler was honestly the only person who understood audrey and her love for video games and hatred for anything too fancy. "they came out with a new zelda last year in the states... it's call the skyward sword of something, i've been dying to get my hands on it since i saw it at a store last christmas," she had asked her parents for it, but they didn't really like muggle things, so they got her a new dress to wear to some ball, she hated the entire night, but at least tyler had been there to keep her company the entire time. "of course, y'know... we haven't hung out like this in what's felt like forever, i don't like it, we should hang out more, ty." she kissed him on the cheek and smiled.

Tyler wouldn't say that Audrey was oblivious to everything, but he couldn't really deny that she was pretty oblivious to quite a few things that he did. He didn't hold it against her, however, and thought that it was actually quite endearing. "Am I really? Well, I claim it as my special name for you, than," Tyler announced with a goofy nod of his head. He kind of liked that he was the only one to call her that, since it made it a whole lot more special. Considering how special he thought Audrey was, it was only fitting that this were the case. Chuckling at her last comment, he made a face when she poked him in the side. "Among many other traits, I bet," he added with a laugh. He liked to think that he could be pretty charming when he wanted to be, though some would certainly disagree.
Audrey's interests pretty much were exactly on par with his own and that sounded like an absolutely perfect plan. Ty would have had the game himself already if he'd had the chance, but now seemed as good a time as any to go pick up somewhere in London. "Hey, yeah, we can get the game, maybe grab some food to go and then come back here and play the rest of the night!" Ty suggested with an eager grin. For Ty, that was the sort of night that he most loved. Just staying in with people he liked to spend time with and goofing around on some video game system was definitely his style. "Okay, I'll see you in just a moment than," Ty nodded. Grabbing some of the floo powder from the mantle of the fireplace, Ty stepped into it and in a burst of flame, reappeared in London. Stepping out of the fireplace, he moved a little away to wait for Audrey to reappear next to him.

audrey laughed, she loved his goofy little smile. "great!" she smiled. audrey loved how goofy tyler could be, it made him, well, him and she loved that about him. "oh, of course, ty." she said sarcastically, even though she meant it completely. "you're charming, sweet and you understand me like nobody else," she paused, "plus you're the only person who can understand my humor." audrey smiled, everything she said about him was true. in audrey's eyes, tyler was perfect and the only person for her, but she could never tell him that, it was too embarrassing for her to even think about. she'd always thought about tyler like that, ever since they were little. she'd always had a crush on him and he had a crush on her, it was obvious that he did but not so much that she did. she wasn't very good at the lovey-dovey stuff and never had been.
audrey grinned at tyler, "that sounds like the most perfect idea!" audrey swung their hands back and forth as they walked. "it sounds like a perfect night," she rested her head on his shoulder. what he described was the most person night to audrey, she didn't like big, extravagant dates or things in general. she was a very low-key person, so just playing the video game with tyler and spending the entire night talking about whatever came to their head. audrey nodded and watched as he disappeared. she waited a few moments for him to step out of the fireplace, then she grabbed a handful of floo powder. she stepped into the fireplace and moments later she was in london.
