Looking down at her checklist, Hallie frowned and quickened her pace slightly. She still had a lot to pack for the day and dinner after, but she told Braden to meet her at the beach around ten. She was already running late, and obviously didn’t want to make him wait any longer, assuming he showed up exactly at ten. Hallie doubted that he did, as Bray wasn’t exactly the best at keeping time, but she still didn’t want to be late. Checking over the list once more to ensure she had everything, she frowned slightly at the one thing she forgot to pack. Heading over to the drawer where she kept them, Hallie pulled out the condoms that she received from Professor Vaughn, as well as the parchment with the protection spells. A shudder passed through her, as she once again questioned her decision for the plans later that evening. While it was true that she very much so loved Braden, Hallie always believed that she would be losing her virginity after she was married. And of course, the reason for Hallie wanting to have sex now wasn’t exactly….justified. She had a dream in which Braden broke up with her because he thought she was too immature, considering she was a sixteen year old virgin.
Tossing the protection items into her suitcase, Hallie made sure all of her clothes were packed, as well as the reservation for the hotel. While her professor, her sister, and her boyfriend all nixed the idea of having rose petals spread around the room, Hallie thought it was romantic, and decided to continue on with her plans of that and candles. After all, Braden has experienced this who knows how many times, and this was Hallie’s first, so she wanted it to be special. She also wanted to impress Braden, but that was a different story. Hearing a knock on the door, Hallie turned to find a house elf carrying the food she had requested the night before. Rushing over to grab the picnic basket, while thanking the elf numerous times, Hallie looked to see if they got to order correct. Satisfied that there was enough meat in there, as well as a small salad and some dog food, to feed a lion, she happily crossed off another item on her list. With nothing else to pack or plan for, Hallie quickly shut her suitcase and made her way to the beach.
Stepping off the bus with her belongings, Hallie quickly made her way towards the hotel to check in. When she called to make the reservations, she asked if they could set the room up as she’d like, so it’d be ready for when she and Braden were done with their candle lit dinner. The hotel said they’d love to, which was one less thing Hallie had to stress over. Receiving her key for the penthouse suite she booked, obviously nothing but the best for Braden, she quickly dumped her suitcase on the king sized bed, and ruffled through it to get to her bathing suit. Once on, Hallie causally rode the glass elevator to the ground floor, and from there, made her way to the beach. She couldn’t exactly remember where she told Bray to meet her, but she made sure her iPhone was right next to her. With nothing else to do, Hallie set out two towels under an umbrella, countless chew toys for Ripper, and bewitched the picnic basket so no sand would ruin the food. Satisfied at how everything turned out, she lathered on some tanning oil, with every intention of soaking up the sun’s rays while waiting for her boyfriend to show with her baby.

Although Braden was looking forward to the day that he was going to be spending with Hallie, he hadn't exactly made any serious plans for it. As far as he knew, it was just going to be a day at the beach or whatever and the they'd be going to spend the night somewhere. To him, that meant that he didn't have to do all too much preparation on his own end. Ripper, on the other hand, had a lot of work to be done. Braden did his best to keep the dog looking as neat and presentable as possible, but sometimes the thing just got a tad bit dirty. Earlier in the morning, Braden had taken Ripper out for some much needed exercise which, somehow, had resulted in the damn thing rolling in a pile of mud. Usually, Braden wouldn't have cared, but he wanted to make sure Ripper looked good for Hallie.
In all the time that he'd had the pup, Braden had yet to wash him on his own. Usually Hallie was there for the task and knew just what to do, so Braden had to improvise. Carrying the dog back with him to the castle, Braden turned his shower on and tossed the dog in. Throwing on his own swimsuit, Braden followed in after the dog to hose him down and get the mud off. Not sure if there was a special shampoo used for dogs or whatever, Braden just grabbed his own shampoo and drizzled some on Rippers back, rubbing it in and finishing up with the bath quite quickly. Toweling himself and the dog off, Braden grabbed his phone to check the time, cursing slightly when he realized that he was a bit late.
Not having too much to grab, Braden simply threw the towel over his shoulder, picked Ripper up and dashed out of the castle. Technically, he probably should have grabbed a shirt or well, something, but he didn't want to be dickish and show up way late for their day out. Better to show up on time and half naked than to show up late, right? As soon as he was out of the school grounds, Braden apparated to the place that Hallie had told him to meet her. At least, he was pretty sure he was close. Still rather wet and carrying a very damp and still slightly dirty dog, Braden landed on the beach just in front of where Hallie was lying out. "Oh, hey, I'm on time and yanno, yeah," he commented, nodding his head a bit as he looked over at her with a slight smile. He may not have been in top form, but at least he was there and that's obviously what counted. Hallie should be proud of him.

Attempting to finish a puzzle on her phone while waiting for Braden, Hallie heard the distinguishable pop of an apparition. Pushing herself up on her elbows, she saw a very wet Bray holding her very adorable baby. Jumping up to greet them, Hallie gave Bray a quick kiss on the cheek, and then swooped in to hug her puppy in her arms. Mm, Ripper, you smell nice. Sort of like after a rain shower. Nodding towards Bray, Hallie was admittedly, very proud of him. He did manage to show up exactly on time, a very rare occurrence for the boy. Still holding the puppy, as he was trying to lick her face, Hallie addressed Braden about their plans. Well, there are a couple of options for today. We could just relax for a bit, and soak up the rays. I’ve rented surfboards and jet skis, so whenever you want to use those, I’ll go pick them up from the hotel. Or we can take a walk on the beach. I also made lunch, so we can have that later. Whatever you want to do, I’m down for.
Setting Ripper down, Hallie watched as the dog made a beeline towards the water. As much as her puppy might have liked the water, she didn’t want him to go alone, and took off her cover up to follow him into the ocean. Jumping a bit at the coolness of the water, Hallie watched as little Ripper attempted to take on the small waves crashing at the shore, become alarmed as he slipped under the water. However, the puppy came bouncing out, shook himself dry, and tried again. She looked behind her, to see what Braden was doing, and motioned him to come into the crystal clear water. What a beautiful day! There was not one cloud in the sky, and while the weather was warm, it wasn’t unbearable. Squishing the fine, white sand between her toes, Hallie watched some surfers attempt to take on the bigger waves farther out in the ocean. Hey Bray? Do you know how to do that? I want to try it. It was a bit windy down by the water, so she didn’t know if her boyfriend heard her.
Carrying little Ripper back to where she set up for the day, Hallie put him on the towel where he curled up in a ball and was quickly asleep. She spotted the tanning oil that she used before, and quickly applied some more, obviously wanting to get a wicked tan. Unable to reach her back, she asked oh so innocently for Braden to do it, while fluttering her eyelashes as she asked. Perhaps not so innocent, but she was just setting the mood for the night. A shudder passed through her once more, but she pushed the thoughts to the side for now. So, anything in particular that you want to do first? Clearly this was a day of making Braden happy.

When Hallie grabbed little Ripper from him and hugged the small dog to her body, Braden decided that his efforts had been a success. Obviously, the dog smelling good made him look good. He had a rather triumphant look on his face and it was clear that he was rather pleased with himself and what he had managed to accomplish. He nodded along slightly as she started to describe all of the things that she had planned for the day. Clearly, this wasn't just a show up and go with the flow sort of thing, as Hallie had taken care to organize all the little things. Braden didn't really mind it, but it did rather make him a tad uncomfortable knowing he'd shown up with nothing more than a wet dog, a towel and himself in a swimsuit. Not that he looked bad in his swimming trunks, of course.
Braden's eyes idly followed the dog as it took off, though admittedly his attention was quite a bit more focused on Hallie. It took a few moments for him to hop to, but when Hallie motioned for him to join her he ambled over towards the shoreline, letting the water brush over his feet. Glancing back over at Hallie when she spoke, Braden gave her a shrug. "Nah, I've never been, but how hard could it be? I'm sure we can like, learn or whatever," he suggested. It looked like something that would be kind of cool to try out, even if it took a bit of learning to actually work it out. Besides, if Hallie wanted to go give it a shot than he was fine with that. It was more her day than his, after all.
Turning back towards the small setup that Hallie had made, he walked alongside her, settling down when she let Ripper down onto the towel. His attention popped back up when she asked him to get her back and he hopped up to help. "You sure you don't want to use sunblock or whatever? Burns...hurt and all," he asked, though he certainly hadn't hesitated to do as she'd ask and rub the tanning oil in on her back. Finishing up, he wiped the remainder of the oil off on his stomach with a nod. "Ah, I think it'd be cool to try surfing. It looks like fun," he said with a bit of a smile. "Do you want to apparate over to get them, or do we walk over there? Or...is this a muggle beach?" he asked, not sure what the rules on apparating would be while on their trip.

While Hallie’s attention was focused more on the puppy, she couldn’t help but to look at Braden out of the corner of her eye. Showing up half naked, Hallie couldn’t say that she minded all that much, as her boyfriend was packing some pretty serious abs. Smiling a bit as she walked back towards their area, Hallie nodded her head enthusiastically. I think it will be easy to learn. Hopefully. And the waves aren’t too big. When Hallie grabbed the tanning oil, she was quite happy that Braden agreed to rub some on her back. Oh, I don’t get sunburns. With an innocent gleam in her eye, she looked over her shoulder towards Bray, and thanked him. She watched as he rubbed some on his own chest, practically drooling over his abs glistening in the sun. Shaking her heads to clear her thoughts, Hallie agreed with his suggestion. Sure, that sounds like fun! Let me just go to the hotel to get the boards. Wait here.
Jogging over to the hotel that was behind them, Hallie went to the front desk to request for the surfboards she rented. The manager informed her that she could get a private lesson for two for only one hundred galleons more, and considering neither she nor Braden have ever been surfing before, she paid for it. Walking towards the back of the hotel with her hot, Australian surfing instructor, Koby, Hallie got to choose which surfboards she wanted. Obviously she wanted the prettiest ones, so she picked one with blue designs for herself and one with green designs for Braden—coincidentally, coinciding with their house colors. While she offered to take her board, the instructor wouldn’t let her, and carried both of them over to where Braden was. Introducing the boys to each other, Hallie stated that Koby was their private instructor for the afternoon.
Not wanting to waste any time, Hallie motioned for Koby to start with the lesson. Obviously, because they were both newbies, Koby made them practice on land first. Hallie could see that Braden was growing impatient, and as much as she enjoyed the presence of her teacher, Hallie wanted to go into to water as well. Okay, Koby. I think we’re ready to try. Reaching out to grab Braden’s hand for a moment, Hallie gave him a big smile and then broke away to pick up her board. Jumping out into the ocean and paddling to catch her first wave, Hallie was a bit unstable as she tried standing up, ultimately ending in her falling off the board. Her head broke the surface of the water almost immediately, and Hallie could hear Koby yelling at her. Don’t give up Hallie. You’re doing great. You’re one of the best students I’ve had. Smiling brightly at Koby’s words of encouragement, Hallie climbed back on her board, in an attempt to try again. Managing this time to ride a small wave for a short amount of time, feeling accomplished. Okay Braden. She practically had to shout over the roar of the waves. It’s your turn now.

To be honest, Braden kind of hoped that the waves picked up a bit. If he was going to go learn how to surf, he wanted to do it hardcore. Well, if he could even learn how to surf, that is. He didn't think it would be all that hard to pick up on, since he was pretty talented at...well, some things. "Yeah, I think it should be good," Braden said, nodding his agreement. He raised an eyebrow slightly at her comment that she didn't get sunburns, but didn't contest it. If Hallie was sure she'd be fine, than he wasn't going to argue with her about it. He wanted to have a good time and worrying about sunburns wasn't on his list of things to do to have fun. "Okay, yeah, sure," he shrugged when she told him to wait there. He didn't really want to hang around there on his own, but she'd be back in a second so it wasn't that bad. Besides, he had Ripper, even if the poor dog was still asleep.
Watching as Hallie ran off towards the hotel, Braden settled down next to Ripper on the towel, putting his arm around the dog to relax and wait for Hallie. He probably could have fallen asleep there in the sun, but luckily Hallie didn't take too long to come back. He wasn't too pleased by the sight of some new guy coming up all tanned and and surfer like, but obviously Braden still had a better beach bod. At least, he was pretty sure that he did anyways. Nodding at the guy as he came over, Braden extended his hand to shake the other guys, making sure that it was very firm, just in case. He didn't want the guy to get any ideas or anything, since that just wouldn't do. The guy seemed alright though and just there to help teach them to surf, which was cool.
Bray followed along as Koby started to begin with the lessons, taking them through the basics. For Braden, it was generally pretty easy stuff to get used to and he was doing alright with the basics on land, though if he would do as well on sea was an entirely different matter. Ready to get going, he nodded at Hallie's request, letting her take his hand for a moment before she went out into the water to give it a shot. He wanted to make sure that she had her chance to go first, just in case he needed to swim out there and rescue her or something if things didn't go so well. It took her a few tries, but she was able to get it eventually to ride a short wave in towards shore. It was pretty exciting and he gave her a thumbs up as she called him to come out and give it a shot.
Hefting the board up onto his shoulder, Braden walked out towards the water and crawled out aways before setting the board down and sliding onto it. Paddling out, Braden waited until one of the waves came, letting the board catch it before he attempted to hop up. At first, he was rather wobbly and nearly fell off, but he managed to maintain his balance long enough to ride the wave in towards shore for a moment before toppling over the front of the board. Rolling out of it, Braden got up and grabbed the board up, carrying it under his arm back to shore. "That's pretty damn awesome, mate," he said with a nod towards Koby, that being his way of thanking the other man for the lessons and what not.

Smiling brightly as she managed to ride the wave, Hallie spotted Braden giving her thumbs up. She returned the gesture by blowing him a kiss and watched as he paddled further than she did. Staying in the water, but closer to the shore, Hallie threw a nervous look towards Koby, as she was unsure whether Braden was ready to take on those monster waves. Apparently Koby saw her look, and tried to reassure her as he placed a hand on her back. It’s okay Hallie. He’ll be fine. Without answering him, Hallie gripped her board and watched as Braden was a bit unstable at first, but eventually got it. Woo! Go Bray!! She cheered for him, throwing her hand in the air.
She stayed put while he paddled back to shore, jumping off her board to greet him when he got on land. Rushing up to throw her arms and legs around his shoulders and waist, Hallie was so proud of them. Not only did they both manage to ride a wave, but she also attempted to do something she’s never done before without making a big fuss out of it. Braden was like the perfect boyfriend, because he made Hallie more adventurous. We did it. Woo! She yelled a little breathlessly. Giving him a kiss on the lips before jumping down but still leaning against him, Hallie smiled over at Koby. Thanks Koby. I think we’re good now. She nodded her head, watching Koby shrug his shoulders. Are you sure? You still have thirty minutes left in your lessons. And you paid a lot for them. Hallie knew she was done, because obviously she didn’t want to be a pro at the end, but she glanced over at Braden. If you want to continue, I’ll just sit over here with Ripper and watch.
Going over to the towel, Hallie picked up the sunglasses that she threw to the side when Braden and Ripper came. Placing them over her eyes, as it was awfully bright out, Hallie watched as the small puppy began to stir. Her own stomach began to growl, so Hallie picked up the picnic basket and laid out the puppy chow. Waiting for Braden to make up his mind about continuing on with the lesson, Hallie simply munched on some celery sticks that she had the elf pack. She put on some sunblock, as Braden was right about the whole burning thing. While it was true that Hallie didn’t burn, she didn’t want to take any chances, as the sun was exceptionally strong today. Settling down and eating her celery, Hallie was very content with soaking up the sun’s rays and watching her very hot boyfriend.

Tumbling into shore after his success with the surfing, Braden was pretty damn pleased with himself. He couldn't really consider himself an allstar surfer or anything of the like, but he was doing well enough that it was impressive for a first go around. He gave Hallie a bit of a nod at her cheering, pausing at the shoreline to stretch himself out and put the surfboard down. Glancing back up just in time to see Hallie running towards him, he caught her as she wrapped herself around him, keeping his hands on her back for support. "Aha, yeah, that wasn't so hard," he said with a nod as she started to cheer. Yeah, she was definitely on the cheer squad and it was pretty easy to tell based on how excited she was.
Although he was quite excited himself, he wasn't nearly as expressive about it as Hallie was. Letting her kiss him quickly before she hopped down, Braden looked back over at Koby as she addressed him. His face darkened slightly when he mentioned that she paid a lot for the lessons, since he definitely hadn't wanted her to do something like that and spend all that money on just a simple day out. Though, perhaps that was mostly because he didn't realize how big of a day it was to her. "Nah, it's cool. You go on than man," he said with a nod, talking more to Koby than to Hallie. While surfing was pretty fun and he wouldn't have minded continuing, he didn't really want Hallie to be just sitting around on her own. Giving the guy a last parting goodbye, Braden shook his hand and turned back towards where Hallie was now sitting down.
Walking over to Hallie and Ripper, Braden plopped down in the sand, pulling Ripper over to sit in his lap. Scratching at the dogs ear for a second, he looked over at Hallie with a questioning look. "So, what's next?" he asked. Since he had kind of been the one to make the decision to start off with the surfing lessons, he figured that Hallie should be the one to pick next. Of course, a lot of that was based on that fact that Braden didn't really know what else she had in store for them, but that was besides the point. His nose crinkled slightly when he looked over at Hallie, noticing that she was eating something that looked incredibly boring. "What the hell is that?" he asked, tilting his head to the side and keeping his distance from the vile green food.

Quietly munching on her snack and watching Ripper attack his dog chow, Hallie almost didn’t see Braden walking up towards them, until he starting asking about the food she was eating. Um, celery? I figured we could eat lunch first before we ride the jet skis. Ripper and I were getting a tad hungry. Pulling the picnic basket onto her lap, Hallie took out all the food she had the elves make for the two of them. Here. They made you a waffleburger, with the chocolate sauce, just the way you like. And a ham sandwich. A couple of slices of bacon. And pepperoni. All your favorites. She passed the dishes along to him, hoping that he’d have enough food. And for me, they packed celery. But last night I made some of my spinach salad with raspberry vinaigrette. Which you’re going to try some. Right now. Because you promised. Picking up a fork, Hallie got a tad of her spinach salad, making sure there were some walnuts on it, and fed it to Braden. Although she knew he didn’t particularly care for anything green, she was hoping he’d enjoy this, because it was her own recipe.
Taking small bits of her salad, Hallie quickly realized that she didn’t have much of an appetite, and pushed the rest of the dish away. Attempting to fill the silence while Bray stuffed his face, Hallie went over their options for what to do next. Well, I’m pretty boss at the jet skis, not going to lie. It was true. Her family always spent the day at the beach over the last weekend of summer, and rented jet skis, an annual tradition since Hallie was three. So I definitely want to do that. Buttttt, you can’t do it right after you it, or you’ll get cramps. So we can take a nice walk on the beach? To be honest, Hallie didn’t mind the idea of taking a walk, hand-in-hand with her boyfriend, and their baby following close behind. But, she didn’t know how much Braden would be up to the idea. Glancing over at him, Hallie shrugged her shoulders. I don’t care. It’s whatever you want to do.

Celery just sounded like a disgustingly boring food. If there was one thing about Hallie that Braden just wouldn't ever understand, it would definitely be the fact that she's a vegetarian. He couldn't imagine eating nothing but that crap for the rest of his life. He'd probably go insane or something. However, the idea of lunch definitely sounded appealing. Surfing had obviously been a lot of work and taking a quick break to chow down on a nice lunch was something Braden was more than happy to get behind. Well, if it wasn't all leafy green foods, of course. He was quite pleasantly surprised when Hallie started to take out a variety of different meats and other foods that Braden was quite partial to.
Giving her an appreciative nod, Braden pulled the food over in front of him, swatting Ripper away when he started to sniff at it. Braden started to eat, vaguely listening to Hallie talk about the house elves and all the different things that they had packed. He gave her a slightly grumpy look when she told him that he was going to have to try her salad, since it definitely wasn't in his top ten things he wanted to eat. However, it didn't exactly appear like he had a choice, since Hallie was already coming at him with a fork full of the green mess. Leaning forward slightly, Braden took the bite, pulling back to chew on it for a moment. Still not his favorite. "It's alright," he shrugged. He wouldn't say that it was something he'd really choose to eat again, but it wasn't something that would kill him to eat either.
The whole jet skis thing definitely sounded like something Braden would enjoy. He liked to do dangerous, fast things and jet skis could be both dangerous and fast. Definitely a winning combination. "Yeah, that sounds good. Don't want cramps or whatever," he nodded. Having mostly finished off with what he wanted to eat, Braden hopped up from the ground, ready to go get the walk over so that they could head off onto the jet skis. "Where do you want to go walk to?" he asked, offering a hand out to Hallie to help her get up. Ripper was already up and running in circles around them, clearly ready to go romp around and have his fun out in the sand and water. Even if the dog got on his nerves sometimes, even Braden had to admit that it was pretty damn cute.

[/img] i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n535/iluvnyxoxo625/R-HBC%20Icons/27.png [/img] when you’re standing on the edge of the unknown
Hallie watched Braden, as he began to pull out the carefully-selected dishes Hallie had the house elves make. She felt as if she achieved his approval, as he gave her a little nod. Sighing, as she managed to get one thing right this afternoon, Hallie pretty much attacked him with a forkful of her salad. She watched his face contort into a look of disgust, even though he politely told her it was okay. Yeah right, you lie. That’s okay though. It is pretty good. Even if she didn’t want to finish what was left on her plate. However, she waited patiently for him to finish up, as they were in no rush to go anywhere for the afternoon. Quickly calling Ripper over, so he’d stop annoying Braden as he was trying to eat, Hallie spoke to her little baby. Who’s the cutest little dog? You are! Yes you are. She smiled as she watched his ears perk up.
Seeing that Braden was done, Hallie began to pack up the left overs, to ensure no animals would attack their camp out. That was the last thing she needed. Done with that, Hallie reach up to grab the hand Braden was offering, to help her up. Brushing the sand that was on the back of her legs, Hallie smiled a bit. Yeahh, we definitely don’t want that. While it was true that one should wait a few moments before going on the jet skis, Hallie kind of exaggerated the whole cramps thing, just so that she could get her romantic walk on the beach. Besides, by the look of Ripper bouncing all around, it looks like he wanted to go on the walk just as much as she did.
Searching her picnic basket for a second, Hallie pulled out a piece of mint gum. One could never be too sure how she was going to act. Ready, she took Braden’s hand, and started heading up the beach, towards her favorite location. To be honest, Hallie loved going to be the beach, and whenever she went, she always tried to find the best hidden locations. At this beach in particular, one that Hallie had come to many years ago while her family still loved each other, Hallie found a cave cut out of rocks, hanging over the water. It was a bit of a trek, but the walking was worth it. Inside was just beautiful and relaxing, especially with the waves lapping at the little beach inside the cave. And Hallie planned to share her little piece of paradise with Braden, something she would never consider doing with her own sisters.
With Braden in tow, Hallie walked over to where her spot was, in no rush. At times, she had to pick Ripper up, because they did have to walk through water to get to the cave. I promise you, this is a good place. Trust me. She didn’t know if Braden would appreciate the beauty of the place as much as she did when she first stumbled upon it. But hopefully he would realize the value that it held to her, as it truly was magnificent. Reaching the entrance, completely unnoticeable from the outside, Hallie stopped Bray. Okay. So there’s this secret magical myth about having to kiss someone special in order to enter this cave and truly appreciate it’s glory. She was totally kidding, but she did want him to kiss her.
Smiling, Hallie reach down to pick up Ripper, as she didn’t want him to get lost. She continued on into the cave, glancing over to see if her initials were still in the wall next to enterance. They were, and she remembered carving them in the first time she found the place, as a reminder to her. Walking into the dark space, and stumbling a bit at first, Hallie regained her footing and continued with a bounce in her step. Within no time, Hallie reached the small cave, with the private beach in it. The sunlight was pouring in from the tiniest hole in the ceiling, somehow managing to illuminate the entire space. Well Braden. This is it. This is paradise. Hallie glanced over and smiled.

When Hallie called him out on his lie, Braden looked over at her with a sheepish grin. He hadn't wanted to hurt her feelings by telling her it was gross, but clearly she could read his rather obvious look of disgust anyways. "It's not bad for like...vegetable stuff," Braden offered, hoping that this somehow would make up for his lack of interest in the salad. The fact that he was even trying to make her feel better at all should have counted for something, since it wasn't often that Braden put any sort of interest into making people feel better about anything at all. Unless he genuinely cared what they thought of him, he probably wouldn't give them more than a few short words in response to anything at all. Hallie, on the other hand, got something akin to actual effort. If she realized that was on her, but Braden at least was attempting to do his part to make things work, even if it was in his own kind of way.
To be honest, Braden wasn't really the kind if guy that went on romantic walks along the beach or any of that. In fact, it was a tad weird to start heading down the beach and walking to, well, he didn't even know if they actually had a destination in mind at all. It wasn't action-packed, they didn't have any distractions, and really all that they could do was look around at the scenery and talk. Braden wasn't going to waste his mental capacity thinking about how pretty the water was, since he kind of didn't care. The water was the same everywhere else, pretty much. Wet and blue. There was the option of conversation, of course, but that had never been a strong point of Braden's either. Sometimes it was easier with Hallie, but generally Braden liked it best when she started talking first, since he never really knew what to bring up or what kind of topics were okay for just random conversation. So, instead of starting up a conversation, Braden just let Hallie take his hand and walk with him in silence to wherever they were going. Hallie probably liked the whole peace and quiet thing anyways.
Following Hallie, Braden honestly wasn't sure where they were headed. It was kind of a bit of a weird walk and they had to go through water and over rocks and stuff to get there. He trusted her enough to not contest her choice of paths, though, so before long they were coming up on a rather remote looking area that Braden hadn't seen before. Pausing as she did near the entrance, Braden's eyes flashed over at her when she started to talk. That sounded like a pretty serious myth and Braden definitely didn't want to like, anger the gods or something crazy if he didn't comply with all of the different ceremonies to get into the place. He'd seen crazy stuff like that happen in video games and the wrath of the gods was never a thing that you wanted to have against you. Leaning in a bit, Braden pressed his lips onto hers, kissing her for a moment before pulling away. "Are we safe now? Or should I keep going?' he asked, raising an eyebrow slightly. Obviously, that was some legit mythical stuff and he wanted to be sure he had everything right before they went in.
When Hallie turned to head into the small space, however, Bray assumed that they were alright to go and followed her closely. When she stumbled a bit, Braden held an arm out to catch her, helping steady her before they continued through the darkness. It was a bit creepy, to be honest, and definitely had the feel that it could be something out of some crazy, long lost mythical tribe or something. However, as soon as they entered into the actual space that was their destination, even Braden had to admit that it was kind of amazing. The space was completely set off from the outside world and there was probably very little chance that anyone came to bother them there. It was, as Hallie said, their own little piece of paradise for a short time. "Woah, how did you find this place?" Braden asked, since it seemed like she had been there before and knew how to get there pretty easily.
Wandering in a few more steps, Braden walked over to the waters edge and sat down to look out at the ocean. Lightly tugging Hallie with him, he pulled her down to sit on his lap. It was probably the one thing he had taken the initiative with all day, but it obviously was quite cute. "It's cool here," he said with a light nod, his way of telling her that she had done a good job picking the location. Ripper had snuggled up next to them and was sitting near Braden's leg, slobbering on the side of his pants. Braden wasn't exactly a bit fan of dog slobber, but Ripper looked pretty beat and he didn't want to shove the dog away or anything. That would be kind of mean. "I think Ripper has had a good time today too," Braden added with a bit of a smile. Even if Ripper wasn't being fearsome and a hunter, he still liked the dog.

For a moment, Hallie seriously believed Braden would laugh in her face about her made up story about the cave Gods. She legitimately came up with that myth in all of two seconds, and honestly didn’t expect Braden to comply with her wishes. But when he started leaning in, Hallie had to use every ounce of her energy to keep herself from smiling, as this was supposed to be a serious ritual and all. Pulling away, and looking into Braden’s deep brown eyes, which Hallie quite often got lost in, she simply nodded her head. As per tradition, Hallie kissed her fingers and pressed them onto the wall, where she carved her initials when she was twelve. It was something she typically did, when she came to the beach by herself every so often. She never actually set foot on the beach, as she always came straight here.
Stumbling a bit when she first stepped foot into the tunnel, Hallie always forgot about the first few stones at the entrance. But the rest of the tunnel was smooth, and she made her way easily towards the little alcove that she called her own little paradise. She would often come here when she was really stressed out about things, as it was kind of her ‘let things go’ place. It was quite difficult to worry about things when she was in her own little world. At his words, Hallie looked over her shoulder, back at him. Um, I’m not sure. I was playing around this area when I was ten, and I kind of fell into a hole. I was too scared to go further down the tunnel. So I just left it at that. Two years later, I rediscovered it, and traveled further, and it led me here. She shrugged her shoulders, recalling what actually happened. While it was true she did fall into a hole, it wasn’t because she was playing, but rather because she was being yelled at for something, and ran away for a couple of hours. But it didn’t matter, it’s not like her family actually came searching for her.
At the beginning of the alcove, Hallie stopped for a moment, letting everything wash over her. While she didn’t quite believe in the cave Gods that required lovers to kiss, Hallie did believe something was magical about this place. She always felt completely at ease with the world here, like her problems washed away with every wave pulling back from the shoreline. Lost in her own little peaceful mindset, Hallie didn’t know what was happening when Braden pulled her gently on to his lap. Shaking out of her daze, she looked into his eyes once again. A grin slowly passed over her face, as she wrapped her arms around his neck. I must be dreaming. Wow, Bray. This is perfect. All of it. Leaning in, she kissed him fully and deeply. Hallie couldn’t help but smiling, especially when she pulled away and placed her head on her shoulder.
To be perfectly honest, Hallie was perfectly content with staying on his lap all day, watching the sun move slowly across the sky. She was happy to have shared her special spot with him, as it felt like she could bond on a more personal level with him. However, all good things must come to an end, as she still had to get ready for dinner, and had a few small details to set up for after dinner. Lifting her head, Hallie threw him a warm smile, and untangled her arm from around his neck. Not wanting to get up and ruin the moment, Hallie gave him a quick peck for the road. She got up, thus disturbing Ripper who was peacefully sleeping. Pulling her hair down from the ponytail, and redoing, while addressing him, Hallie gave Braden his options for the rest of the time before dinner. So, you can either spend the rest of the afternoon here. Or you can go back to the beach and chill. Or you can use those ski jets I rented. But I’m going back to the hotel to shower and change. She picked up the dog, so Braden could have a carefree afternoon, waved goodbye to him, and walked out of cave to freshen up at the hotel.
