I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing
Just praying to a God that I don't believe in

Seven months was a long time, especially when you were away from all of the things that you absolutely loved in life. However, Ari had been dealing rather well with the distance from everything. At least, she thought so anyways. Everyone else probably disagreed, but she thought that it was doing well for her. Not being around everyone else had been easier for her, at any rate, since that meant she didn't really have to answer questions and there were no questioning looks, wondering where she had been and what the hell her problem was. Even so, Ari missed her team, her practices, and definitely her home. She went back sometimes, but not often enough to count. The majority of her time was spent either at the castle being a professor or out traveling the world and avoiding most of the people that she knew. But, now that she only have five months until her official return to the team, Ari kind of felt like she needed to start easing herself back into things.
Of course, a good start for that would be to show up at practice. Technically, she was probably supposed to be working and had some sort of class to teach, but she skipped out on those often enough that she honestly didn't even care. She knew that the team practiced every morning, bright and early, so it wasn't like she had to check beforehand or anything and it was easy enough to just apparate over there and join in. After all, they would probably be thrilled to see her, since she mostly hadn't talked to the lot of them in ages. Or, well, maybe they'd just be epically pissed off about her lack of communication with the team and not be all that pleased that she was there. Ari, however, was leaning towards the reaction of "oh, Ari, we love you and have missed you terribly," but perhaps that was just hopeful thinking.
Even though she hadn't been to practice with the team in awhile, Ari's gear was all together either way, since she still practiced on her own every day no matter where she was. Hefting her gear into the bag she used and grabbing her broom, Ari apparated over to the Puddlemere's flat. They had their own Quidditch pitch back behind the house, which made it easy to get to practice and such. Reappearing out on the pitch, Ari looked around for a moment to see that no one else was there yet, which was rather understandable. Ari had pretty terrible sleeping patterns and had more or less been up all night, much like usual. She slept a lot more during the day, without the moon to distress her attempts to sleep and the sun wasn't yet up, so Ari was still up and awake as ever. Not particularly a cheerful awake, since she hadn't slept in ages and was a tad grumpy because of it, but she was awake and ready to attempt to show up for a decent practice.
Having not been with the team lately, Ari wasn't sure what time the lot of them would be up and out on the feel. She kind of suspected that they would roll out onto the field at their own pace, much like they always had, but she didn't know anymore. Dropping her things near the bench at the side of the field, Ari settled down to wait for the rest of them to come out. Admittedly, she was a tad bit nervous to see how they were going to react to her being there. She hadn't told any of them that she was coming and she definitely didn't know how they were going to react to the fact that she had just kind of showed up out of the blue. She's spoken to some of them sporadically and they seemed to be getting on well enough, but some of them, well, it had been a few months. Considering how close they had been in the past, her leaving randomly hadn't exactly been the easiest thing for their friendships and Ari juts hoped they weren't too pissed.
