Cause this is the real thing, love changes everything. This is the night when every heart's exploding.
To be honest, when Erinn had found out that Nika was going off to get married, she had pretty much decided altogether that she was done with the girl. They would break up and Erinn would never bother with her, or any other Slytherin, ever again. Obviously they were evil and out to ruin her life and she didn't need that anymore. However, after spending a vacation with Klay and letting things happen, Erinn had come to realize that she did care. She didn't just want to storm off and let Nika go get married. For whatever weird reason, she still cared about the girl and this time, Erinn was going to fight for that. She'd messed up enough with things and she didn't want to keep screwing up and losing the one thing she had that she really did care about. So, she made plans and started to get things together to try and make things better.
It wasn't often when Erinn put effort into, well, anything, but when she did it turned out pretty damn amazing. At least, Erinn liked to think so and most definitely was hoping so for that night. Not only did she have to find a way to apologize for what had happened in Mexico, she also had to apologize for being a bitch about the whole ordeal with Nika's new finacee thing. Though, it wasn't like you could blame Erinn for reacting at least a bit negatively. Perhaps she had been a bit hardcore about it though. Perhaps. Either way, Erinn was pretty much going full on with this whole apology thing. Even if she didn't do it all that often, she was pretty damn good at it and that was exactly why Erinn had been working all week to convince Nate to let her use the VIP section of the club for the night and redecorate it as she saw fit.
Wanting everything to be exactly right, Erinn had spent the entire day rearranging things and fixing things to be the way she wanted it. Not having done this before for this purpose, Erinn checked and rechecked every little thing, just in case. There was a small stage built up towards the back with her guitar on it's stand, ready for when Nika got here and a small area off to the side they could talk and whatever else when they got around to that. Well, if they got that far. With the two of them, it was hard to know sometimes how things would go. Sometimes they just ended up fighting and that was what Erinn definitely didn't want. She rather just wanted them to just get along for once and not be at each others throats. Though, there had been plenty of reason for all of that in the last few weeks, so she just hoped that all that could get put to the side while they tried to figure out what to do next.
Of course, there was a damn good chance that none of this would go well and that they'd come out of the night worse off than before, but Erinn still had to try. Grabbing the quill and parchment she'd brought with her, Erinn scratched out a quick message to Nika, telling her where and when to meet her and then brought it over to the owl Nate had lent her. Hell, Erinn didn't even know if Nika would bother to show up, but whatever. If she didn't, than Erinn at least tried and she could go back to being pissy with renewed vigor. Her part of things finished for now, Erinn padded back into the VIP lounge to wait for Nika to show up. Sitting down up on the stage, Erinn held her guitar lightly and started to strum at it as she waited. There was no particular melody to it, just random notes coming forth as she nervously glanced up every few seconds at the door.

Lately, Nika Krum had been under a lot of stress. It was tough dealing with a marriage that you didn’t want to go through with. Sure, she loved her fiancée, but he was more like a brother to her than a husband. She didn’t want to marry him; she didn’t even want to get married so soon. After all, the girl was merely almost sixteen. Her stupid father arranged for all of this to happen, him and his stupid traditions. She could handle most of the old traditions, in fact, she could say she enjoyed some of them, but this one pushed her way past her breaking point.
Nika sat, curled up with her knees to her chin, on the ledge of the balcony protruding from her room, a lit cigarette held between her fingers. She raised it to her lips, taking a long drag and filling her lungs. Exhaling slowly, she watched the smoke rise in a foggy cloud, being carried away into the chilled night air. This was something that Nika seemed to be doing often, escaping to her balcony in Bulgaria. It was her thinking place where she could block out all of the shit that was happening in her life. Honestly, a fifteen year old shouldn’t have to deal with those kinds of things. Marriage should be nothing more than her imagination, but for her it was real.
Thinking, re-thinking, over-thinking, it was all she could do. She had to figure out a way to get out of this whole mess. Nika missed Erinn a lot. At the moment, she wasn’t sure where they stood in their relationship. From what she could interpret from their last conversation, they were finished. It was really bothering Nika, but there was nothing she could really do about it. She already tried inviting her out to a movie, which didn’t work. The brunette felt horrible for springing the situation on her and making it worse. Truthfully, she couldn’t blame Erinn for reacting that way. She deserved it. Actually, she probably deserved worse than that.
An owl that Nika didn’t recognize perched beside her. She untied the paper from it and unrolled the letter. It was from Erinn, telling her to meet her at the club in an hour. It made Nika wonder what she was really up to. She was told that her now ‘ex’ girlfriend wanted nothing to do with her. It wasn’t as if the girl had any plans for tonight anyway, seeing as her fiancée didn’t know that she was in Bulgaria.
Nika stuffed her cigarette into the makeshift ashtray, hopped off the ledge and walked inside, shutting the glass doors behind her. She slid into some decent clothes, put on some heels and some makeup. That was about it. She wasn’t going to go all out for their little meeting, figuring Erinn only told her to show up to confirm their separation or something. Nika prepared herself for it mentally and then aparated to Club Chronos in London. She shoved her way through the mob of people on the dance floor to get to the VIP section of the club. Oh joy, shit was going to go down and then she would have to walk back through a crowd. Those people better get out of her way or they would be getting punched. She really didn’t want to have to deal with this. Pushing through the doors, Nika’s apple green eyes fell upon Erinn. The strumming of the guitar soothed her mind, but also managed to spark a bit of anger. “Hey,” she said, avoiding direct eye contact with one of the only few people that she cared about.

Cause this is the real thing, love changes everything. This is the night when every heart's exploding.
The longer that Erinn sat there waiting, the more she came to regret this whole decision. Obviously she was just being stupid and there was probably no way Nika would actually bother coming. After all, she had more or less told Nika that she didn't want anything to do with her and that there was no way the two of them were actually going to go anywhere after all that. Not exactly the best way to give someone hope about anything, that was for sure, so Erinn wouldn't have blamed Nika for standing her up. If, of course, that's what was going to happen. As far as Erinn saw it, there was probably about a fifty-fifty chance that Nika would show up. At the very least, she might be curious as to why Erinn was asking her to come to the club at such a weird time, which would be nice.
As she calmed herself down again and settled back into a pattern of strumming, Erinn heard the light slam of the door as it closed. Her eyes flicked up to see Nika walking in, quickly falling back to the strings in her fingers as she continued to play. It helped keep her from saying anything stupid or doing something ridiculous, so she simply continued to play as Nika walked up towards the stage that she had seated herself on. "Ah, hey," she mumbled, when Nika greeted her. From what she could tell, Nika didn't seem all that pleased to be there, so Erinn was slightly worried that the only reason the girl was there was to yell at her for being a stupid bitch or something. It wasn't too far out of the question, especially when you counted in Nika's tone of voice. It was much icier than it usually would have been when addressing her and Nika wasn't even looking at her anymore. Great.
Letting an awkward silence fall for a moment, Erinn waited until she had some idea of what she wanted to say before she set her guitar down next to her. However, she didn't move from where she was seated, figuring it would be slightly easier to deal with talking to Nika with at least a little bit of distance between them, just in case. Nika was unpredictable sometimes, especially when she was in a mood and Erinn wanted at least a small headstart if she had to run away from an angry Nika. At least she showed up, which was a good start. She couldn't have been too pissed off with Erinn if she had made the effort to come all the way to the club, so Erinn was at least happy about that. Though, she appeared more nervous than anything. "Err, thanks for...coming," she said with a bit of a nod. Bad start. She didn't want to seem awkward, but that was exactly how she felt.
Actually, this was the first time she had seen Nika in person since they had gotten into their fight back in the forest when Erinn was kidnapped. Even that was only a few short minutes before she had taken off to Mexico with Klayton, so it was really a few months since she'd really gotten to see Nika and even if the situation wasn't ideal, it brought a shadow of a smile to her face. "I'm uhm, I'm sorry about being a bitch and I kind of miss you," Erinn blurted out after a moment, just saying what she needed to say almost as if she were just ripping off a bandaid. Honestly, she just wanted this whole mess behind them for awhile and she wanted the two of them to be back to normal. She hated fighting with Nika and the sooner they could get past that, the better. Well, if they could get past it, of course.

Nika Krum aparated from her room to the street outside of Club Chronos. Honestly, she didn’t know why she was showing up, it was obvious that she was going to get yelled at. Erinn didn’t want anything to do with the girl and she had made it clear in their last conversation. Nika had almost accepted the fact that they were breaking up. She couldn’t really blame Erinn anyway. She had disappeared for a while and came back engaged. Nika didn’t want it to happen like that, or at all for that matter, but there was nothing within her power that she could do.
The girl sighed heavily, turned on her heel and began to walk down the block away from the club. Why bother when she knew what she walk walking into? Her mind was split, veering off in two completely different directions. One side wanted to go home and go to sleep, the other side wanted to see Erinn, even if it meant she would have to endure the rejection in person. Nika paused and ran her fingers through her chocolaty hair. Dammit Erinn, how could she be this manipulative if she wasn’t even there? She turned around and strutted back up the block and into Club Chronos, shoving through the mob of people to the back where she was told to meet Erinn.
Nika’s eyes fell upon Erinn playing her guitar on the stage, her delicate fingers strumming across the strings. The girl closed her eyes and took a deep breath in before proceeding deeper into the room. “No problem,” she nodded, “but if you want to fucking yell at me, then you should get it over with so I can go home,” irritation was evident in her voice. Nika wasn’t the type to beat around the bush. Honestly if Erinn was going to do that, Nika would probably go home and sulk.
“Oh wow…” the girl’s green eyes widened. “That was not the reaction I was expecting,” she stated plainly. Other than that Nika was at a loss for words, which was rare, but becoming more common for her around Erinn. “Umm. I missed you too, but you’re not that much of a bitch. I was kind of expecting when I heard you found out about that whole…thing.”

Cause this is the real thing, love changes everything. This is the night when every heart's exploding.
Though she hadn't been expecting the warmest of welcomes, Erinn certainly didn't feel like she deserved the rather less than pleasant response that she received. Honestly, it wasn't like Nika could blame her for getting a tad bit pissed off. If the situation had been reversed, she rather doubted that Nika would have just taken the news without getting at least a tad bit upset. Well, Erinn hoped that would have been the case, at any rate. "Fuck, I don't want to yell or...whatever," Erinn mumbled, frowning slightly as she spoke. There had been a point where all she had wanted to do was yell at Nika and just be done with it, but that passed and Erinn was over it. As much as the situation sucked, she figured yelling probably wouldn't make it any better, even if she felt a tad bit relieved after doing so.
However, when Nika had a rather surprised look on her face at Erinn's statement and an awkward moment ensued, Erinn almost wished that she had just asked Nika there to yell at her. In all honesty, that would have been a hell out a lot easier than the awkward moment that they were currently caught in. Things had rarely been awkward with Nika before and Erinn really just wasn't that good at dealing with it. Shifting a bit from where she was sitting, Erinn scratched at the back of her head for a moment as she thought about what to say in response. That really just summed up the whole thing right there. The thing. She didn't want to talk about it, that was for sure, since that really only had the possibility of making things exponentially worse between the two of them. However, there was no denying that "the thing" would be looming over them until it was resolved. That is, if it were ever going to be resolved.
Setting her guitar to the side for a moment, Erinn slid off the side of the stage and landed on the ground, keeping a bit of distance between herself and Nika. "Ah, yeah, but, whatever. Either way, sorry," she quickly muttered, nodding a bit as she spoke. Even though there was little chance that either of them could forget the situation, Erinn still had a bit of hope that perhaps they could at least push it to the side for awhile and wait until they somehow came up with a viable solution. "I ah, I wrote a song and I kind of wanted to play it for you. If you don't...mind," Erinn added, chewing slightly at her lip. If there was one way that Erinn could think of to express any sort of feelings without tripping over her words and feeling awkward, it was through her music and so she had set about composing a song to match what she felt.
Hopping back up onto the stage before Nika really had a chance to reply, Erinn moved the microphone out of the way and sat back down with her guitar in her lap. Her eyes glanced up nervously for a moment before she started to pluck at the guitar strings, setting up the beginning of the song. It was still sort of a work in progress, so she wasn't sure just how well it would go over, but she was happy enough with it to at least play it for Nika. After a brief pause, Erinn started to let her voice blend in with the strumming of her guitar. Now that she thought about it, this was quite possibly the first time that she had ever sang anything in front of Nika, let alone a song that was more or less intended for the girl. It was a bit intimidating, to be sure, but it took only a few moments before Erinn completely forgot the situation and simply focused on what she was doing.

Seeing Erinn for the first time in a long time sent mixed emotions through Nika’s head. On one hand she was happy to see her, but on the other, she was bracing herself for some harsh words of rejection. The one thing that the girl feared the most out of everything was being rejected by people. It was simply unacceptable. The last time she had spoken to her girlfriend, or now ‘ex’ girlfriend, she was angry and wanted absolutely nothing to do with the young Bulgarian even though she promised to fix everything. Easier said than done, she was still concocting an idea to relieve the whole situation. The only thing that she could think of that might work was the tragic death of one of them, but she couldn’t even bare to think about killing her fiancée and best friend since birth. She should be punished for even letting the thought cross her mind.
Nika raised an eyebrow when Erinn said that she didn’t want to yell at her. “Wait, what?” a look of confusion struck her, “Then why am I here?” The girl couldn’t help but to wonder. This whole thing couldn’t possibly end up good. She had fucked it up way too badly, beyond recovery. Maybe Erinn was saving it for later, so if she actually wanted to speak to her, they wouldn’t end up killing each other until she got the information that she needed. Yeah, that sounded about right, though Erinn probably wouldn’t pick up on that, so the likelihood of that grew smaller.
Nika stood there, half way between the door and the stage where Erinn was about to play a song that she wrote. It could be a code word for something. It sounded like something her father would use. The girl pushed that fact to the side, ignoring it completely. Nika was a sucker for anything acoustic. It was the softer side of her that just melted with every word. Tears began to collect in her eyes, threatening to fall. Why did she have to be so damn sensitive? The girl held in her emotions, but finally blurred her sight. She tried to blink them away, but a single tear streamed down her cheek. Nika quickly turned her back to the stage and wiped her eyes on her sleeve, trying to regain her composure.

Cause this is the real thing, love changes everything. This is the night when every heart's exploding.
Even if Erinn hadn't exactly just expected things to just be fixed by a simple apology and a bit of a to-do with the song, she didn't think it would make things any worse than they were. Apparently, however, that's exactly what it did, since Nika turned away without saying anything. Certainly not the reaction Erinn had been hoping for and it brought her song to a sudden stop. Clearly, it wasn't going to help things, though she had thought that perhaps it would. The utter look of disappointment that crossed Erinn's face wasn't something she was used to, to be sure, and she didn't want to deal with it. If Nika didn't care, than fine. That was that. She'd move on and find something better to do with her time and someone better to spend her time with.
Biting at her lip for a moment, Erinn didn't even know what to say to that. Nika turning her back was just...hurtful, honestly. At least she could have just told Erinn that she didn't give a fuck to her face and not just turned around like that. Bitch. Turning and scrambling back up onto the stage, Erinn slung her guitar across her back and paused for a moment. "Well, thanks a lot," Erinn mumbled, clearly quite bitter before she turned to leave. Storming off probably wasn't the best way to deal with the perceived situation, but Erinn had never been known to make the best of decisions when she felt things weren't going her way. Though she was trying to get better at being more understanding, it was still a work in progress. Obviously.
The irritation apparent on her face, Erinn hopped down from the stage to leave, brushing past Nika without saying another word. Had she taken the time to at least look back at Nika, she would have realized that all the assumptions that she had made in her head by the simple gesture of Nika turning around were completely wrong. Nika wasn't turning around to be a bitch, Erinn was just making the worst of things. What she had hoped would turn into a good moment for the two of them was quickly deteriorating into another failed attempt to make things better. It seemed that every time things start to sort of go well between the two of them, something happens to just screw it all up. Generally, that something was Erinn's insecurities and tendencies to make every situation out to be the worst.
When she had left from the VIP section of the club, Erinn wasn't really sure where she was going to go. She couldn't go back to the castle, since she was technically still kidnapped and not going back home for awhile, so that was definitely out. She didn't really feel like going to Klayton's place, since he was the last person that she wanted to see at the moment. As much as she liked him, she wasn't in the mood to be cheered up. Instead, Erinn angled her path off towards the Hog's Head. It was out of the way, there was alcohol and there definitely were plenty of other weird people that she could fit right in with. Though, they were probably a lot creepier than she was. Pushing through the doors to the Hog's Head, Erinn hopped up onto one of the open barstools and ordered herself a firewhiskey. Bad idea, but Erinn didn't care.

A tear rolled down Nika’s cheek a few minutes into Erinn’s song. Her heart fluttered around in her chest. Shit. This was one of her only weaknesses; she was a sucker for anything acoustic, especially if it was being sung to her. It made her head feel a bit light and a slight smile curling the corners of her mouth. That little moment was special to Nika. It was the first time that Erinn had sung for her and she was amazing. If she wasn’t standing in her presence, the girl wouldn’t believe that the voice was coming from her.
Nika wiped her face on her sleeve, the salty liquid seeping into the dark cloth. The music stopped abruptly and Erinn’s voice echoed in her head as she brushed past her. What? Why was she angry? There was no reason to be. “No, Erinn, Wait!” she called after her as she left the VIP section. She didn’t even turn to look back at her. What was her fricking problem? Nika followed her girlfriend, or ex, or whatever they were, out of the club, pacing after her. “Com’on!” she wished the girl would just turn the fuck around and look at her.
Finally, Nika caught up with the girl as she sat down at the bar of the Hog’s Head. She reached out, gently placing her hand on Erinn’s shoulder. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” she asked. “Listen to me,” the look in her apple green eyes was sincere, “I loved your song. It was,” she paused, biting her bottom lip, “beautiful.” Nika sat down on the stool next to her, but waved the bartender away without even looking at him when he asked what he could get her.

Cause this is the real thing, love changes everything. This is the night when every heart's exploding.

Considering the fact that Nika technically hadn't done anything wrong, Erinn was overreacting. However, she felt that given the circumstances of their situation, it was generally to be expected that she acted a tad bit irrational. Of course, she certainly wouldn't ever actually admit to acting irrational, since she would hold to the fact that she clearly had the right to be upset. Even with Nika calling after her, Erinn simply continued forward with the intent of escaping the situation. Really, it wasn't like she had any hopes of getting away from Nika. She couldn't apparate out of there and it wasn't like there was anywhere she could go to hide, given how barren the streets were. So, at the very least, she could knock back a few firewhiskeys at the Hog's Head and that would help the situation a little bit. Well, if that's what you could consider it anyways.
Knowing that Nika was right behind her, Erinn quickly started to knock back the firewhiskey in front of her. The more alcohol in her system, the less she had to think about the fact that Nika was being a jerk. Or, rather, that Erinn thought Nika was being a jerk. With an irritated scowl on her face, Erinn glanced back over at Nika to see what, exactly, she had bothered to chase her all the way to Hog's Head. She didn't flinch away from Nika's touch, which was a good sign, nor did she completely block out whatever it was Nika was saying. Biting her lip slightly as she listened, Erinn came to realize that perhaps she had misjudged the situation just a tad. Oops. At least Nika hadn't responded to her angry exit by leaving herself. Huffing out slightly, Erinn slowed down a bit on her drinking and looked back over at Nika with a guilty expression on her face.
Swiveling her stool around to face Nika, Erinn's head dropped slightly. "Sorry. I guess I'm just a bit...nervous," she admitted, shrugging as she spoke. Nervous was hardly enough to explain the situation. Erinn didn't sing in front of people she knew very often, let alone sing to them. "Err, that's good though. That you liked it," she added, a rather lame comment to follow up. She'd worked particularly hard on making sure that the song was good, so she was at least pleased that Nika seemed to think it wasn't a completely and utter fail. In fact, it appeared that Nika was quite the sucker for a good acoustic tune. Definitely something good to keep in mind for the future. Granted, Erinn wasn't sure how much of a future the two of them had, but it was something she liked to think was still an option, despite the situation. Even if she wasn't showing it, Erinn held at least a little hope that things would work out between the two of them. Somehow.
