When Mikaela had heard about the carnival, she wasn't sure whether or not she wanted to go. She had never liked carnivals, especially carnival folks, but when she had realized who she was paired with, she was positive that she wasn't going to go. Honestly, she had no clue how she ended up getting paired with Alfie Chase of all people. She knew for a fact that they didn't make a good pair at all. The Ravenclaw just couldn't stand him. He was cocky and rude, the type of person she just couldn't stand at all. Of course, she could have complained to the Ministry, but Mikaela knew that it wouldn't help at all. The brunette had a feeling that the Ministry wouldn't switch her with another person or not pair her with anyone, even if she did complain to them. She didn't see the point in complaining . What difference would it make if she was simply just not going to go?
But on the day of the carnival, her friends wanted her to go to the carnival with them. Mikaela being the wonderful and kind friend she was, she flat out refused to go with them. She had planned to spend the day in the library, curled up in a corner, trying to finish her stack of unread books, and nothing, not even a stupid carnival would get in the way of her plans. Or at least that was what she had thought, but once one of her friends had given her the infamous puppy dog look that could get Mikaela to do anything, she surrendered and agreed to go with them. She told herself that one day her friends were going to be the death of her. It just wasn't right for someone to have such power of her with just a look, in Mikaela's opinion.
When they had arrived at the carnival, Mikaela went off on her own and tried to see if there was anyone else she knew. When she couldn't spot anyone she knew, she started walking around mindlessly, only stopping a few times to look at the games and prizes there were. The brunette didn't have any clue how she was going to spend the rest of the day. She didn't know where her friends were, and she really wasn't interested in playing any carnival games. There just weren't any games that caught her eye, and the brunette was seriously getting bored of just wandering around aimlessly, and here she thought carnivals were suppose to be fun. She sighed and continued to look around, and the brunette finally stopped when she spotted a dunk tank. Now that put a smile to her face. If only Hogwarts had one of these. Mikaela thought with a wide smile. Then she would have loved her time at Hogwarts even more. She might have actually left the common room or library for once. The Ravenclaw just stood there, and let out a soft laugh every time someone got dunked.

The whole idea of a carnival was something that Jordan definitely could get behind. He loved to be around people, he absolutely adored fun and he couldn't fathom saying no to some sort of sweet, fried treat. All in all, it was kind of one of those opportunities that he couldn't have passed up even if he had wanted to. He'd already been in contact with his match, some girl from Hufflepuff named Daisy, and she was too sick to head over to the carnival. Jordan was a bit disappointed that he wouldn't get to hang out with someone new for the day, but he wasn't as bummed out about that as he could have been. After all, there were probably plenty of other girls out there whose dates hadn't shown up for them and now were just kind of alone. Maybe one of them would let Jordan take them around the carnival or something. He'd set aside a good chunk of his last paycheck for the day and he really didn't want all the efforts to go to waste. Someone had to reap the benefits of his extra hours at Ninja!
He'd been up pretty early to get ready and head over, since he wanted to get there at a fairly decent hour. He doubted he'd find anyone to really hang with at first, but at some point throughout the day he was sure that someone interesting would come along that he could talk to or whatever. After getting dressed and grabbing a quick bite to eat, Jordan headed out from the castle to head over to where he could apparate away from the castle and over to the set location of the carnival. When he got to the carnival, his eyes lit up with an childish excitement. Even if he didn't have someone to hang out with, it was definitely still possible for him to have an absolutely amazing time. There was more than enough to do there that he wasn't at all concerned about being bored. Of course, it would undeniably be much more preferable to have someone with him, but he could handle it.
Waiting in line at the ticket booth, Jordan gave the man working his invitation and nodding a quick thanks as the guy let him through and into the carnival. He was instantly cheered by the abundance of people in a good mood and it would have been impossible for Jordan to be even slightly bummed out by the fact that his match hadn't shown up. Looking around, Jordan wasn't even sure where to start. There was so much going on that he could do that making a decision was going to be rather difficult. Perhaps he'd do best to just walk around and see what there was first before he started to jump in and do things. Though, he fully intended to do a little bit of everything before the day was through, since that is obviously what he showed up for.
Deciding on the path to the left, Jordan started to stroll through the carnival, looking around at everything there was to do and making mental plans on which order he planned to do them. He was about ready to turn back the other day when his eye was caught by someone that looked rather familiar. Obviously, if someone he knew was alone, he couldn't just let them be bored and so he walked over to where Mikaela was standing to greet her. "Ayy, Kayla. What are you doin' here all by yourself? No hot date to keep you company?" Jordan asked, flashing her a grin as he spoke. He didn't know her particularly well, but he did know that they'd been in the same house for a number of years and he'd spoken to her a few times before.Obviously, she would be a perfect person to spend the day with.
