To be quite honest, Erinn was more or less terrified by the idea of going down to the dungeons to meet up with Nika for dinner. Just getting out of the Gryffindor commons room would be a chore and the trip down there presented every opportunity for someone to sneak up and catch sight of her going down there. It was a death wish waiting to happen and she wasn't ready for anyone to even have an inkling that something was up or that she was seeing someone, let alone Nika. Erinn was still coming to grips with the fact that, not only was she interested in women, but that she was actually asking one out on something that might equate to a date. Not to mention the fact that it was her "mortal enemy" or whatever it is the two of them could have been classified as and if anyone found out, there would be serious consequences.
So, as she closed the chatroom and sat down on her bed, Erinn almost considered not going. If she didn't go, than no one would find out and she would be safe. However, that wasn't Erinn. She was supposed to be the fearless Gryffindor leader that didn't give a damn what anyone else might think. She was the girl that did whatever she wanted, no matter who said differently or opposed it. Yet, here she was, simmering with doubt and uncertainty and that scared her more than anything. The possibility that she wasn't who she thought she was...well, it wasn't something that she wanted to deal with ever and so, her decision was made. She would go, despite the obvious drawbacks to her plan and she would have a good time. She wanted to go which, perhaps, also scared her a bit. It wasn't like she'd ever done this before and everything from here on out with Nika would be entirely new territory that Erinn wasn't sure how to go about understanding.
Dressing up in what she thought was a fairly presentable object, Erinn quickly began to slip out of the Gryffindor tower, as stealthily as humanly possible. Not only did she share a room with her twin sister and two best friends, but she also had three older siblings in Gryffindor that prowled about the commons room, waiting for her to do something wrong. However, tonight she was lucky. For once in what seemed like months, Erinn was able to escape from the tower without anyone questioning where she was headed. At the very least, she knew that she would be able to pass it off as if she were heading down to pull off some sort of epic prank down in the dungeons, so there was at least that small window that she could cling to as a last resort.
Making her way down the stairs, Erinn's eyes flicked nervously back and forth amongst the people, almost expecting someone to jump in and accost her. She was never this nervous when pulling off her pranks, storming through the castle with more confidence brimming out of her than anyone. So this was a different Erinn, a more vulnerable Erinn and she wasn't sure how much she liked it. She wanted to be okay with everything that was going on, to assume that somehow things would work out fine, but she wasn't an optimist by any stretch of the means. The odds that all of her siblings, as well as her friends would take the news of her not just being bisexual, but also, somewhat, seeing Nika Krum were quite slim. In fact, Erinn was quite positive that the majority of them would be much less than supportive about the whole subject. Yet, at the moment, she almost found herself not giving a damn at all. Almost.
Reaching the bottom of the stairwell, just at the top of the dungeons, Erinn wasn't entirely sure where to go. She'd said that she'd be meeting Nika somewhere around here, but just where that was, she wasn't sure. So, she stealthily padded down the last set of stairs and looked about in the dungeons for some sign of where she might be headed. Of course, this was even riskier territory for her to be in, as there were a number of Slytherins walking about, all of whom, if they noticed her, would likely have no hesitations with hexing her ass. After all, it wasn't like she was the best friend forever of many of them and quite possibly, public enemy number one down there what with all the things she did. Walking a little further into the dungeons, Erinn picked a rather dark and seemingly remote location to settle into and wait. Nika would just have to come find her, as she was right good and lost by now.

&&I'm still painting flowers for you Nika logged off of the chatroom and walked back into the girl's dorms of the Slytherin common room. She kicked her trunk open and hung over the edge of her four-poster, rummaging through her clothes. What to wear, what to wear, she kept repeating in her head as she tossed items of clothing to the other side of her bed. Nika had no idea where Erinn was taking her, so she decided to play it classic. She exchanged her school robes and uniform for black jeans and a crop tom whose hem ended above her belly button. She couldn't go wrong with that outfit and her favorite naval ring. The girl picked up her wand and swished it around the top of her head. Nika's dark messy hair became neat and curled.
She took one last look at herself in the mirror before sticking her wand in her back pocket, throwing on her leather jacket and morphing into her animagus form. The bird flew off and out of the portal of the common room. Nika was supposed to be meeting Erinn in the dungeons by the tunnel to Hogsmeade, but she wasn't exactly sure if her friend knew where she was going. After all, Gryffies belong on the roof, not in the cellar. The bird flew calmly and swiftly through the corridor before it entered the room with the tunnel. She circled the vacant room a few times. No other creature was present. Damn, I knew this was some kind of joke, Nika thought to herself as she headed back toward the common room.
As the raven was flying high over head, it noticed a human that looked quite out of place. Erinn Thomas hadn't stood her up. If birds could smile, she would be. The raven dove down and perched on the girl's shoulder. She paused there for a few seconds to get the girl's attention before she flew off again. This time, the bird flew much lower, just above eye level and much slower for Erinn to follow her. She turned the corner and entered the vacant room, perching on a dusty ledge near the ceiling. Nika morphed herself back into her human form before Erinn could enter. She sat there on the ledge, a slightly wicked smirk was visible on her face. "I wasn't sure if you were actually going to show up or not." tagged: erinn wearing: thiswords: 402 music: you're gonna go far, kid- the offspring notes: (:

The longer that Erinn stood there waiting, the more convinced she became that Nika wasn't going to bother showing up. It wasn't like Erinn really would have been surprised, since it was Nika, after all. Up to this point, they had more or less been the most hardcore set of enemies on campus, constantly trying to outdo each other with their pranking and always on the warpath against each other, so it really didn't make sense that they were even slightly getting along now. So, were Nika to just have been kidding and not shown up at all, Erinn probably should have seen such a thing coming. An irritated scowl arose on her face as she thought about it, mentally chastising herself for actually wasting her time believing that it had meant something.
Erinn was just about ready to leave when she felt something land on her shoulder. Quickly glancing up to see what the hell it was, she realized that it was a bird. A raven, to be exact. Which, were Nika not lying previously, was Nika in animagus form. It stayed there for a moment before taking back off, which Erinn took as a sign to follow it. As the raven figure turned, a small smirk of relief passed on Erinn's face. She wouldn't admit to it, especially not if asked, but she was quite excited to be going for dinner. She wasn't sure what would come of it, or even if she was genuinely interested in seeing where it might go. Hell, Erinn wasn't even sure what she was feeling for Nika. However, whatever it was, it currently kind of sucked.
Following after her and into a random room towards the back end of the dungeons, Erinn looked around cautiously. Even if Nika was here, that didn't mean that she was actually there to accompany her to dinner. Honestly, at the moment, Erinn figured it would be about a fifty-fifty chance they were going to dinner, with the same chance of this ending in Erinn being duped into some sort of prank. However, when she entered the room, Nika was simply sitting up top a ledge, no wand out and nothing to prank her with. That was certainly a good start to things, right? At the very least, it was a step above the previously low expectations that Erinn had developed on the way there.
Leaning up against the wall, she looked up at Nika with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah? I could say the same to you," Erinn replied with a shrug. It was good to know, in some way, that Nika had shared the same fears that she did. That meant, sort of, that she was kind of on the same page as Erinn was with this whole whatever. Erinn really wasn't sure what to call it just yet. "So uh, where d'you want to go?" she asked, figuring that she was probably obligated to at least consider taking Nika's opinion on a dinner location into consideration. Erinn was kind of hoping that it was somewhere a bit more off the beaten path, simply because the more populated the place was, the more likely it became that someone might see them there together. Erinn wasn't even sure she was okay with the fact that she was going to dinner with Nika, let alone the possibility that someone may see them.

&&I'm still painting flowers for you Nika Krum remained sitting on the ledge, swinging her legs. Her green eyes focused on a rather large spider web in the corner of the room as she spoke. "I'm glad you came," the girl admitted a bit sheepishly, "Nika Krum never gets stood up." That fact was true. No one ever failed to show for Nika. She was usually the one who forgot or just decided that she didn't want to go. The girl hadn't been asked out many times, but the few times that she was asked out she was too afraid to show. Nika was a bit of a chicken when it came to love. She could be indecisive and cold hearted at times, but most of the time she treated it as if it was some kind of joke. Which was what this little event was. Right? What kind of student would invite their enemy out to dinner? There was probably some kind of trap set up along the way.
Nika was only worried in the slightest bit, but the feeling of her wand pressing up against her backside gave her some way to feel safer. She looked back down toward Erinn as she spoke. This time, her apple green eyes met hers. Nika's tense body relaxed as she leaned her elbows on her knees and rested her chin in her hand. Maybe this won't be so bad, the girl though to herself. If you really thought about it, an alliance between Erinn and Nika would be dangerous, and Nika Krum liked danger.
"I dunno, where ever you's like is fine with me," Nika said as she shrugged. She wasn't much of a picky eater, well actually, she is an extremely picky eater for a human, not so much for a bird. Where ever they went, she was sure that she could find something that she liked. tagged: erinn wearing: thiswords: 313 music: smells like teen spirit- nirvana notes: ugh. my posts keep getting shorter ):

Admittedly, Erinn was a bit amused by the fact that Nika almost seemed as if she had been nervous about Erinn's showing up. Sure, they'd had their differences, but Erinn wasn't like that. When she said that she was going to do something, she generally did it. Unless, of course, there was some special reason for her not to go about doing something. However, in this case, Erinn had more of a reason to show up than not to, so there she was. "I'm touched that you were so concerned," Erinn commented with a subtle smirk. She wasn't sure how much of that concern was about Erinn herself and how much was about her ego, but Erinn was more apt to believe that it was mostly to do with her. Of course, she didn't want to get any false hopes up and so didn't dwell on the matter all that much.
She kept her eyes trained up at Nika, quite pleased that things seemed to be going rather well. "Yeah? Okay, sweet. Hopefully you like Japanese than," Erinn nodded. She was something of a restaurant maniac and knew quite a number of odd, out of the way places to go dine at. It always made for an exciting evening, that was for sure. She just hoped that Nika was open to something of a strange experience when it came to the restaurant of choice. The place was, however, completely Erinn's type of place to be and that was more than exciting. ""C'mon, we've got reservations to get to, yeah?" Erinn said, waving at Nika to follow after her into the tunnel, which, she was assuming would take them out to Hogsmeade.
Not paying attention to see if Nika was behind her, Erinn simply continued to keep walking. She was acting much more confident and at ease with it all than she actually was, but she didn't want Nika to see any weakness in her at the moment. She had no doubt that Nika would capitalize on any sense of vulnerability that she felt coming from Erinn and so the young girl was exuding as much confidence as she could muster up. Which, considering how generally nervous about the general ordeal going on now, was a difficult thing to achieve. Erinn was a hell of a determined little minx though, so she was quite content to do what was necessary to appear perfectly at ease. "So, you ever been to that restaurant just outside Hogsmeade called Ninja!?" Erinn asked, raising an eyebrow with interest. She certainly hoped that Nika hadn't, since that would make it a new and more exciting experience for her.

&&I'm still painting flowers for you Nika blushed slightly at Erinn's comment. "Who said I was concerned?" the girl asked with a slight cockiness in her voice, "Maybe I could be doing something better somewhere else with someone else." Nika's voice was made out of icy daggers, every word almost pained her to say because truthfully she wanted to see how this whole thing would play out. Those hurtfull words were said on instinct, like a first line of defense. She didn't even have time to think about it before it rolled off her know it all tongue.
"Reservations?" Nika smiled in her head, her facial expressions twisted into a devilish smirk. Then why'd she ask where I wanted to go? That was strange. Maybe Erinn had this whole thing planned or maybe she was just quick at making them. Nika didn't answer or move from her seat on the shelf. This was her last chance to bail and she wasn't sure if she wanted to or not. On the outside she didn't want to go. It felt as if she weighed a trillion tons and she couldn't move off of the ledge, or maybe she was glued down. But deeper down, in the black hole abyss know as Nika's heart, she wanted to go. The girl felt strange. She never felt like she wanted to do something in the slightest way that didn't include Quidditch or pranking people. She jumped off the ledge, landing on the concrete floor silently. She took a step toward the door, but then turned and followed Erinn through the tunnel with a unbelievable amount of hesitation.
"Hmm, Ninja?" Nika repeated as she stood up and brushed some dust off her jeans. "No, I don't think so," she replied truthfully, "But I feel honored to have a restaurant named after myself. I know I'm just that cool." Nika was joking, of course, though some friends of her father used to call her Niki Ninja when they saw her play Quidditch. tagged: erinn wearing: thiswords: 331 music: ashley- escape the fate notes: sooooo tired. sorry for the wait.

Although she had already turned around, Erinn glanced back for a moment to hear what Nika was saying. The steely manner with which she was talking definitely set Erinn off a bit and made her wonder if, perhaps, Nika really did want to be somewhere else. A bit of a frown furrowed on her face, but she was turned away enough that she didn't feel the need to conceal it. "Well, fine than. If you've got somewhere else to be, than go right ahead," Erinn shrugged, her voice taking on a much more irritated tone. She was attempting to come off as though it didn't matter to her one way or another, but that was far from the case. As nonchalant as she was trying to be, Erinn cared quite a bit about the situation. Of course, that wasn't something that she would ever tell anyone, since admitting to that would mean quite a bit more than she was willing to admit just yet.
Looking up at Nika, Erinn shrugged a bit. "Uh, yeah. Just in case, yanno?" she nodded. Were she being honest, Erinn would have told Nika that the reservations had more or less been to cover her own ass just in case Nika hadn't shown up. After all, it would have looked extremely weird had she just randomly gone out and then come back to questions from her roommates about where she'd been. At least with reservations, she'd have been able to cover for herself and have a reason for being out. "Figured you wouldn't know what you wanted or whatever, so I made sure to take care of things," Erinn added, embellishing things a bit. Obviously she couldn't come off as having been anything less than completely confident with what was happening, since that would kill the illusion of her confidence.
To be honest, when she heard Nika's footsteps fall into rhythm behind her, Erinn was quite relieved. For a moment, she had almost been worried that Nika just wouldn't come and would stay sitting up there for the rest of the night. "Brilliant. It's a pretty sweet place," Erinn nodded, leaving it at that. Nika could find out what it was all about when they got there. She raised an eyebrow at Nika's last comment, not sure what, exactly, she meant by that. She didn't really know Nika well enough to know much about her and she looked back with a slightly confused look. "Named after you? That cool? Someone's slightly jaded," Erinn commented with a slight smirk. Even if she probably should have been attempting to be nice, it was rather difficult to do so. She'd spent so many years in conflict with Nika that it was just natural to be somewhat of a bitch towards her.
Continuing down the hallway, it didn't take more than a few seconds to come out in the streets of Hogsmeade. It was a breezy night, quite perfect to be out in and Erinn paused at the exit to wait for Nika to catch up. Leaning up against the wall near the exit, Erinn turned to look over at Nika with a small grin on her face. "Not too far from here, so yeah," Erinn said with a nod. She wasn't really sure what else she could say at the moment, since she was still trying to figure out just how Nika felt about their...well, whatever they were calling the dinner they were on their way to anyways. The whole not knowing what was going on thing definitely was a bit offsetting and she sort of wished that she could just ask, but she didn't want to make things any more awkward than it already was.
