I'd rather run the other way than stay and see The smoke and who's still standing when it clears People flooding in and out of the hallway did nothing to distract Erinn's attentions from the door in front of her. Some way or other, she wanted to get into that room and at least get someone to tell her what was going on, even if she couldn't talk to Frankie. However, the nurses that left from the room were very sure to seal up the room before taking back off down the hallways. Whatever was happening, they didn't want anyone to know about it and that fact worried Erinn more than anything else did. If it was so bad that they didn't even want to tell the family, than odds were it wasn't so simple as birthing complications. Though, Erinn had no idea what else could possibly be going on with Frankie, since it wasn't like there was much else actually going on in her life. At least, as far as Erinn knew.
Biting at her lip when another group left from the room, leaving only the one professor in there, Erinn kicked at the ground irritably. Clearly, she wasn't going to be getting in there anytime soon. Turning back towards the group of people, she saw that it had expanded slightly since she had last been paying attention. Gabby was over there with Felix now, probably attempting to offer some sort of heartfelt consolations and over by Dean, Nika was there. Granted, Erinn wasn't sure if she was really ready to be around her and her family at the same time, but she figured that now was as good a time as any. They weren't paying much attention to her at the moment anyways, so there was a decent chance that anything she did would completely go unnoticed by her parents and older siblings.
As Erinn made her way back over towards Dean and Nika, the padding of her feet sounded out amongst the whispers scattering about the hallway. It was much to quiet for Erinn, who had never dealt well with any sort of quiet situation. Pausing just to the side of Nika and Dean, she gave a quick nod of hello as she stopped. She still wasn't sure there was much to be said, or at least there wasn't much she could say without springing forth with an angry diatribe about how ridiculous the whole situation was. Instead, she simply tugged on Nika's hand and sat down glumly with her back pressed against the wall. It wasn't a comfortable place to be stuck for hours on end, but she didn't intend to go very far until they at least had some sort of news about Frankie. Until then, Erinn had decided that she wasn't going to be leaving that spot.

It was pretty clear that Frankie was less than pleased with Roy's quick thinking and valiant effort to save her, which was quite unfortunate. At least a little bit of gratitude would have been nice, but apparently that was too much to ask. Honestly, being a vampire wasn't that bad as far as Roy was concerned. Took a bit of getting used to for new ones, most likely, but it wasn't like he had too much trouble with anything in life. Really, it was too bad that Frankie was going to be as mad as she was, at least for awhile. He felt terrible having to leave her stuck inside the little circle of safety that the nurses had made for her, since there were obviously many more fun things to be done with her outside of it. Well, once she had calmed down and resigned herself to the fact that she really did feel thankful towards him.
Sighing slightly and shaking his head a bit, Roy glanced back up at the girl. "You'll come to thank me eventually," he assured her, though it looked like that was a very, very long time in the future, if at all. Hopping off the chair to pace around a bit, Roy thought for a moment before responding to the rest of what she said. True, he hadn't done it with any goodwill towards her, but he couldn't very well say that it had been for his own benefit. Clearly, this wasn't at all helping him. "You know, I'm sure your family will quite appreciate the fact that you aren't dead. They're all out there right now, actually," he commented, deciding that perhaps the family card was his best option for getting her to warm to the idea. He wasn't sure if she was particularly close with her family, but if they were all out there than she must at least be sort of close with them. At least, he hoped so.
Crossing the room over towards the supplies closet for the hospital, Roy sifted through some things until he found one of the bags of blood that they held there, in case of emergencies. Carrying it back towards Frankie, he lifted it up to show her. "This is more the sort of stuff that you'll be eating. Technically, you're welcome to eat normal people food, but you'll have to supplement your diet if you don't want to start going crazy and killing people," he explained. It was probably easiest to attempt to teach Frankie things while she was still held captive, since she couldn't just leave and ignore what he was saying. While he didn't expect her to be all too receptive to his lessons at the moment, it was easier than discussing why he had done what he had and that sort of thing. Roy wasn't even sure he could explain himself if he really had to.

Nika waited around for a little bit, awkwardly standing there in front of Dean. They didn’t speak after she had asked where Erinn had gone. The silence was deafening, but the girl knew that it wasn’t her place to speak. If it had been someone from her own family, things would probably be the same, except there would be a lot more fighting and they’d break the door down to get in to see the person.
A bit surprised, Nika felt a warm hand wrap around her own. She looked over to see Erinn standing beside her. A smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. She was so happy that they had made everything better. It had really bothered Nika to have put the girl that she cared about most through all of that trouble, putting her in that dangerous position. Honestly, she couldn’t blame Erinn for reacting like that. If she were thrust into that situation, she would have acted similarly, maybe a tad bit more violent.
“Hey,” Nika spoke in a voice barely above a whisper. She hesitated slightly before gently draping her arms over Erinn’s shoulders and pressed their lips together tenderly. Tonight was about Erinn. Nika was there solely to comfort her and make her feel better. She felt some heads turn to look at the two of them, their eyes like lasers, burning a hole through her. Normally, Nika would have whipped around and punched them for staring or less violently: gave them a dirty look, but they were family and close friends to the Thomas’s and she didn’t want to cause a scene. Erinn already said that she didn’t care what their views on them were.
Erinn sat down, back against the wall and Nika sat on her knees facing her. “I brought you some food. It’s Bulgarian. My mom made it this morning and sent it over. I hope you like it,” she said as she opened the container, steam rising out. There was a fork and a knife in the plastic bag that she had just taken the food out of. “If you don’t like it, that’s fine. I’ll run down to the Kitchens and ask them to make something.”

I'd rather run the other way than stay and see The smoke and who's still standing when it clears In any other circumstance, Erinn probably would have been freaking out about the fact that her whole family was lingering about while she was there with Nika, but she didn't care just then. Honestly, she just wanted Nika there, consequences be damned. As much as they had fought and not been getting along, she still made Erinn feel better and that was all she needed at the moment. Even so, she hesitated for a moment before kissing Nika back. It wasn't easy with the rest of her family there, watching and clearly not all that impressed, but no one was saying anything about it, so she took that as a sign that right now, no one cared. Perhaps later she'd have to deal with some sort of consequence, but that was a hurdle she'd attend to when she got there. Or she'd just avoid the family for awhile and hope they forget about it.
At that point, Erinn probably would have eaten just about anything. She was too numbed by the experience to really taste the food, so it didn't particularly matter what it was. Giving Nika an appreciative smile and a nod, Erinn moved the food over to her lap and started to pick at it, quickly realizing that she wasn't even in the mood to eat. She was hungry, but eating seemed so trivial in comparison to worrying about Frankie that she didn't know that she would even be able to finish the food. She did, however, manage to scarf down enough to make it look like she was full or something before she capped the lid back on and pushed it off to the side a bit. "It's good, thanks," she mumbled, the first thing she had said in hours. It was clear by the cracking of her voice that she was anything but okay at the moment.
Now that the distraction of food was out of the way, it seemed like the reality of the situation just came back in full force. Erinn's head dropped back against the wall with a light thud and the rest of her body seemed to droop slightly with a solemn sadness fitting for the environment. A part of her wanted to just get out of there and find some way to distract herself from it all, but she knew that there was nothing that could really drag her away from that hallway until she had some sort of news as to the condition Frankie was in, whatever that may be. Her eyes flicked over to Nika, filled with worry and anguish, before she lifted her head and repositioned herself so it was resting on Nika's shoulder. Even if it wasn't going to comfort her in entirety, it at least lessened the utter sense of dread that she was feeling to some degree.

when the blood dries in my veins & my heart feels no more pain i know i'll be on my way to heavens door Trapped in an invisible prison, angry and in pain, both from her sudden loss and the dry ache in her throat, Frankie felt like she might snap at any moment. Her emotions were so much more powerful than they had been when she'd been human that it was beginning to overwhelm her. One moment she felt a blinding rage towards Roy and the next she felt an unbearable pain at having lost something so precious to her. It changed back and forth so fast that she wasn't sure what to feel and it wasn't until Roy continued to speak that she was able to sort through her jumbled emotions and thoughts, and focus on the situation at hand.
Thankful? A second ago Frankie might have barked out a laugh or given Roy a cruel sneer but her whirling emotions were beginning to tire her out and all she felt now was lost. Remaining silent, Frankie lowered her eyes to the floor but immediately looked towards the door when Roy mentioned her family. The first person that popped into her head was Erinn and then another onslaught of fear and worry and pain attacked her mind. Erinn.. her family.. what would they think of her now? Now that she was a vampire. Would they accept her? and if they did, would they still love her the same? Frankie didn't think so. Her parents had abandoned her when she'd said that she was pregnant. If they were to learn that she was a vampire.. well, Frankie was almost positive they'd wish she were actually dead instead.
Slowly, pain gave way to anger as Frankie mulled over the reaction her family would have to her new condition. She felt anger towards Roy for doing this to her, anger towards her parents, because she knew they wouldn't accept her. And anger towards whatever higher power had taken her children away. The urge to scream and kick and punch like a child having a tantrum was strong and the only thing stopping Frankie from doing so was the peculiar smell she'd caught before when bethany had been in her arms. This smell was a little different, not as warm but it still smelled just as mouth-watering.
As if in a trance, Frankie walked towards Roy and pressed her hands against the invisible wall. "Give that to me." she demanded, quiet but forceful. Her previous worries of her parents and what had happened that day momentarily forgotten. It was then that she realized why she was feeling so dizzy and out of sorts. Because she needed to feed. She didn't know how she knew this, maybe it was some sort of new vampire instinct, she didn't care. All that mattered was the blood in Roys hands. But how could she get at it when she was locked in this prison? A hungry growl passed her lips and her fingers scraped across the wall as she closed her eyes and inhaled the smell of cold blood. It was weird how she could smell it even though if it was in a bag. Even though she was trapped in this prison.
Slowly, Frankie opened her eyes. How could she smell the blood so clearly if she was trapped in this prison? In fact, how could she hear Roy speaking as if there wasn't a thick impenetrable wall stood between them? Taking a step back from the wall, Frankie closed her eyes again and allowed her nose to track the direction in which the smell was coming from. When she opened them again, her dark eyes were facing up, towards the ceiling. Of course. It wasn't so much a prison as it was a holding pen. One she could easily get out of. And she did. It took only one try for her to leap up and out of the prison and only a second more for her to rush Roy, fangs extended and eyes black with thirst.

Nika was nervous, standing there in the corridor surrounded by all of her girlfriend’s relatives who probably didn’t like her for one reason or another. She could feel the hate radiating throughout the space, but the girl took a deep breath and held her ground, pressing her lips to Errin’s. Normally she would have just picked up and flew off, escaping the tension, but she couldn’t do that here, not now. After all she had put Erinn through with her family problems, she couldn’t let her down now when she needed her most.
The brunette sat on her knees across from Erinn, pulling out the food that she had brought down for her. A smile tugged at the corners of Nika’s mouth when Erinn said that it was good. She was glad. It would have been a bit disappointing to be trying to make her feel better when she didn’t like the food she brought her. That would have been a bit awkward. Erinn’s crackling voice made the girl frown slightly. Nika honestly didn’t know what to do to help. She wanted to say something, but she felt that anything she would say would be counterproductive at this point. She wanted to ease the tension, but she didn’t know how. Kissing always worked for her, but that didn’t seem to be the right thing at that particular moment.
Nika shuffled around to sit with her back against the wall. The moment Erinn looked over at her, she knew that she had to do something. The look shattered her heart. She wrapped her arms around her girlfriend, gently brushing Erinn’s soft, chocolate colored hair out of her face. Nika’s mind was racing at a mile a minute. She needed to come up with something, an excuse of some sort. “Do you want to do take a walk or something?” she whispered to her ear, “We’ll go down to the kitchens and bring sandwiches up for everyone.” That was a good start.

Were it not for the fact that there were other people around her, Erinn probably would have just broken down right there and been completely incapable of holding herself together. She didn't show it all too often, but Frankie meant more to her than just about anything. If something bad was happening to her sister in that room, it would probably kill her. She'd had enough going on lately and the last thing that she needed was to lose her sister. Not that she knew if that was a possibility or not. She felt like she at least deserved to know something. Good news or bad news, anything would be better than just sitting there hoping for the best, but dreading the worst. Honestly, the longer that it took, the worst that she felt about it all. If Frankie was alright, they surely would have come forward and told them at least that.
Letting Nika take her into her arms, Erinn had all but given up on functioning. It was a lot easier to just sit there and let Nika push her hair back than it was to say or do anything at all. The idea of going down for a walk wasn't something that she was too sure of, but it might be better for her than sitting there miserably. Nodding her head slightly, Erinn agreed to the idea. She doubted that she'd go down there to bring food back for everyone, since she kind of didn't care. Not to mention, if she got down there, the odds of her coming back up were pretty slim. Just getting down to the kitchens would be effort enough on her part, so she quite doubted that there was much of a chance of her returning. It would probably be good for her to get away from it, anyhow. Being surrounded by other depressed people certainly wouldn't help her mood any.
Getting up from the ground took Erinn a bit more time than usual and she was slightly unsteady on her feet. "Yeah, let's...let's get out of here," she nodded. It was at that moment when Erinn decided that she wanted nothing to do with it all. She didn't want to worry about Frankie, or the twins, or her family, or anything. Honestly, she just wanted to cut out her emotions and act as if they simply didn't exist. Easier said than done, of course, but that was the frame of mind that Erinn wanted more than anything to be in. Taking Nika's hand, Erinn held back to wait for the other girl to lead them to the kitchens or wherever it was they were headed. Anywhere would be better than that hallway and Erinn just wanted to turn her back on it and forget. Forget it ever happened and move on as if she were perfectly fine.

Erinn took up Nika’s offer to go for a little walk around the castle. The Slytherin couldn’t stand to watch her sit there surrounded by all of the melancholy. She offered a hand to help her up and turned to walk down the corridor. Hopefully taking Erinn away from the source of her sadness would help her get her mind off of things for a while. She couldn’t just leave her there. Emotions were like parasites, picking away at you until you shrivel away to nothing and die. So were relatives. Sometimes they were the cause of the madness, and in this case, Nika thought they were. No one was speaking back there. It was just silent. No one was extending a hand to help out one another, they were just kind of sitting there waiting for something to happen. If this was happening to the Krums in Bulgaria, they would be throwing a get better soon party. They threw a party for everything, good or bad, it didn’t matter. But instead of it just being a small gathering of people, it was her whole family, all of them, and their families, and friends from all sides. The only relatives that failed to show up were stuck in Azkaban for some reason or another.
There was an eerie silence as the two of them turned the corner. “Where do you want to go?” Nika asked, breaking the ice between them. Honestly, she didn’t care where they would go as long as Erinn started to feel better. “Maybe we can head up to the Room of Requirement and find something to do, or we can go get food for people, which is a bit lame, but it’s all up to you. Whatever you want.” She put an arm around her girlfriend, in an attempt to comfort her.

I'd rather run the other way than stay and see The smoke and who's still standing when it clears The further they got away from the hallway, the better Erinn felt. The atmosphere back there was just suffocating and being away from it let her breathe, at least just a bit more. She wasn't in a better mood, really, but at least she didn't feel like she wanted to just sit down and do absolutely nothing. If anything, just being away from it made her want to leave all the more. She shouldn't have to be stuck there waiting for something to happen, she should be out doing whatever the hell she wanted and if news came, then she'd hear it when it happened. No doubt, someone in her family would keep her updated if any major changes arose. She kind of doubted anything special would happen, given how long it had been already, but you never knew. Maybe Frankie wasn't going to die. Maybe.
Now that they were out of the corridor and away from the rest of the family, Erinn's whole demeanor changed. The slight, saddened slump that her posture had held was gone and a slight smile graced her face. As far as she was concerned, everything else was behind her and that was that. "Aaahhhdunno, we could go do whatever, but I'm not bringing bitches food. They can do that themselves," she responded, her voice oddly happy considering her previous state of mind. Thinking on it for a moment, Erinn decided that the Room of Requirement sounded like the perfect place to be at the moment. It could be anything and everything at the same time and that could lead to all kinds of trouble. "C'mon," she said briefly, reaching over to take Nika's hand before hopping forward and quickly making their way up to the seventh floor.
Quickly bounding up the flights of stairs, they reached the seventh floor fairly quickly and Erinn turned towards the hallway that held the Room of Requirement. Pacing back and forth in front of the entrance, she waited for the door to materialize in front of them and pulled Nika in with her. Inside was pretty much a winter wonderland. Anything related to the typical view of the North Pole was there, from candy canes to reindeer. Even Erinn was pretty impressed with how it turned out. "We should start the holidays early. Are we uh, doing anything for Christmas or whatever?" she asked, not sure what the plans were. Obviously, she didn't really want to go home to her house for the break, but she didn't know what Nika typically did for the season. Hell, for all Erinn knew Nika would be off doing things and she would be stuck there in the castle all through break on her own.
