I wish I could put a spell on you. I wish I could make you feel like I do. [/i][/right] For the most part, Lexi really did love her job. It wasn't the most glamorous and it didn't pay the best, but it was fun. However, the weird hours that she worked sometimes were an absolute bear to the young woman. Since strip clubs weren't exactly used much during the day, Lexi only worked night shifts and usually, since she was younger than most of the others, she got stuck with the absolute strangest hours. Sometimes she found herself going into work at two in the morning and not being off until mid-afternoon the next day. That had been exactly the case that night and it was now just past noon that she was getting out of her costume and back into normal clothing. The thing about the Red Lantern that set it apart from most of the other clubs was that it never closed and surprisingly they had a steady flow, even during the odd hours of the afternoon. Of course, that just meant that Lexi had to stay for her entire ten hour shift, leaving her utterly exhausted by the time she was done.
Although she was given time off to grab a bite to eat halfway through her shift, the effort she put out definitely exceeded her caloric intake and she was starving by the time she was off. Usually she would go catch a bite at the small pub next door, but that wasn't going to be an option that night. As with any job where you were put on display, there were sometimes cases where people got to be a bit too grabby and in those cases, it was usually safer to just get away from the vicinity of the club so that nothing went too wrong. It wasn't that big of a deal, since she could just apparate away, but her brain just wanted to sleep and didn't have the capacity to think about where it wanted to go. So, instead of putting a whole big deal of thinking into the matter, Lexi simply apparated to the most familiar place that she could think to go- The Three Broomsticks. She didn't get to go by there much anymore, but it was a good place to grab a quick bite before she collapsed into her bed for the rest of the day.
Reappearing just outside of the building, Lexi dragged herself through the door and over to the closest table. Work took a lot out of her, since she did her best to appear absolutely excited to be there, every second that she was working. It was a lot more fun when she was enthused about what she was doing and just having a good time with her friends. There were plenty of people that would judge her for what she did, sure, but she liked to think that she was on the classier side of things. Sort of. That was utterly untrue, yes, but it made her feel better about her job. She knew that her parents would absolutely die if they were ever to find out, so she kept up the illusion that she was working for the Daily Prophet. It wasn't always easy fooling her family like that, especially since she hated having to lie to them of all people, but it was easier than them knowing what she really did with her life.
Giving the waiter a warm smile as he came over to take her order, she asked for a turkey basket, along with a warm butterbeer. It was taking quite a bit of effort for the young woman to stay awake, so she attempted to prop her head up on her hands, yawning all the while. In the interest of not falling asleep on the spot, Alexis genuinely hoped that the service wouldn't take too long. She was even tempted to just pay for her food and aparate straight back to her apartment. At least she could fall asleep there without worrying about it, even if she didn't really want to eat there. She liked being in the environment of the Three Broomsticks for a change, since it was something that she missed. Since it was a normal time of the day for the rest of the world, there were quite a few people milling about and hanging out with friends. It was something Lexi loved to see, granted she could keep her eyes open long enough.

Though slightly bruised up and injured from his last case, Ariston decided a break would be nice, even though he was alone, and apparated over to Hogsmeade. After apparating to Hogsmeade, a place he had not been in for several years, he walked over to the familiar infamous cafe, Three Broomsticks. Looking about the cafe he noted one of his closet friends sitting alone. Rather than finding a table for one he instead took a spot next to his close friend, though she seemed to be napping.
Teasingly poking her in the side, Ariston said, Hey Lexi. But rather than waiting for her response, he quickly got up and went over the counter and ordered a butterbeer and a sandwich. As he returned back to his spot next to his friend he curiously asked, So, how have you been? Yawning softly Ari ran his fingers through his hair before asking another question, Tired? Normally not so chatty Ariston found himself talking a lot, but that was because he was tired and whenever he got tired he became the opposite of who he was. Never rude, just a lot more social and chatty. Something that had been happening a lot lately due to the recent case.
It was stressful. Not exactly complex, just very stressful. It was about some rampaging recently-turned vampire who could not control his blood lust. One side would say that it was murder while another side would say it was survival skill. But either way he looked at it, he found it difficult especially since he agreed with both sides, to an extent.

The longer that Lexi sat there in wait, the more her eyes threatened to shutter to a close. However, she wasn't about to leave without eating, knowing full well that it would just be bad for her health if she put off eating much longer. In a stroke of good fortune for the girl, a few minutes after her arrival, she felt someone sliding into the chair next to her and heard a familiar voice. Were she slightly more rested, Lexi would have burst into a twitter of activity and would have been excitedly flailing about. In her current state, she was just able to manage a bright smile at the sight of Ariston. "Arii, hey," she said as he moved over towards the counter to put his order in. From what she could see, he too seemed to be a bit tired and likely had just been at work himself. She wasn't sure what hours he worked as an auror, but she imagined they weren't all too friendly either.
Rubbing at the back of her head slightly, Lexi let out another wide yawn as she waited for Ariston to come back around. Scooting over to give him room, Lexi turned over towards him, still resting her head on her hand. "I've been doing good, thanks. Working more since my promotion and that's pretty much it," she shrugged. To be honest, she didn't really do a whole lot aside from work lately. On the days she had off, she might go out with friends or something, but other than that it was a whole lot of sleeping and movie days at her apartment. "How about you? I haven't heard much from you in awhile," she asked, definitely interested to hear about the guy's adventures. Sometimes she was quite jealous of his job, since being an auror seemed like an exciting sort of career to pursue. Much too dangerous for her tastes, but definitely exciting.
Letting out a soft chuckle at his inquiry, Lexi nodded deeply. Tired was certainly an understatement in that situation. "Just a bit. I worked two to noon today and midnight to one yesterday," she answered with a light shake of her head. It probably sounded crazy that she kept such a job up, when there were plenty of other offers that she could take up, but she was happy where she was and didn't see why she would want to change that up just yet. "You look pretty exhausted yourself. Just off work?" she asked, her attention quickly flickering over as the waitress came with both of their orders. The food certainly brought a bit of added energy to Lexi's movements and she eagerly pulled her basket towards her, first taking a sip from the butterbeer to help jolt her energy even more. "I sort of love this place."

Ari commented while frowning at the news, Meh, thats unfortunate. But at least you're making more money? And with the way society is heading more money will benefit you. Something Ariston did was add his opinion and views, but when he was tired it came out more often. A sigh escaped as he ran his fingers through his hair. Resting his head against his arm Ariston replied. I just finished a case a few days ago, but now I have another one. So busy is the best term to use. But my own fault, I was the one who decided to become an Auror even though I knew the stress and workload that would come with it.
Being the son of a man who once was a Hitwizard then a Auror and now an Ambassador Ariston was familiar with the stress and workload his father dealt with. But it was because his father was so good at his job that made Ariston want to become an Auror. He saw the work and how it helped the world in a positive manner which made his work worthwhile.
A yawn escaped Ari as he blinked a few times out of shock before commenting, Damn Lex, shouldn't you be in bed then? Though Ari was able to function with minimum sleep, he hated the little sleep he got. It did not matter that the extra hours were not necessary, he still wanted them and often was seen sleeping-in on his days off.
Nodding while yawning, which was a bit weird and awkward for Ari, he muttered behind his hand that covered his mouth while he yawned, Yup, off work for now but I'll probably end up working some more when I get home. The moment the waitress dropped his food before him, Ariston immediately took a large and long sip of his drink and a rather large bite of his food.
It did not matter that he was out in public and around a friend, he was in need of energy. Something he knew he would be needing for work. But for now work was going to be the last thing on his mind. As he finished swallowing his food, he looked about recalling the pleasant and stress free days of Hogwarts. Nodding in agreement Ariston said, I miss it all really, stress-free days where all that was on my mind was homework, qudditch, and prefect duties. Now he instead had case after case on his mind as well as his grandfather breathing down his neck about his lack of girlfriend.

While she couldn't say that working longer hours was her favorite thing in the world, Lexi didn't have too much of a problem with it. She was friends with most of the girl's that she worked with, so that made it pretty easy to hang around the club longer than she used to. Even if she spent the majority of her time working, there were times that she went between shows and such that she was able to sit around in the back with the girls and have a good time. They were all pretty peppy and it made for a good atmosphere. "Yeah, yeah. I guess that's true, too. I mostly just enjoy having fun, really, though," she shrugged. The whole concept of society and the in's and out's that went along with it had never really been something that Lexi paid far too much attention to. She probably should have, but she was far too carefree to put too much of her time into taking an interest up in the state of the world. She was fine, things were fine, so she didn't see any reason to really worry about it.
Knowing exactly how he felt about being busy, she shot him a sympathetic look. Of course, her line of work was nothing like the job of being an auror, but she could sympathize in some ways with the long and crazy hours, as well as with the time spent training at dance studios and the like, which could equate to some of the training auror's went through. Sort of. "Well, it's an honourable job, if you ask me. Someone dedicated has to be doing it," she commented with a soft smile. It certainly wasn't a job that she could have done, as glamorous as it may have sounded back when they were younger. Fighting dark wizards, traveling the world, all that sounded good in theory, but when it came down to it, it was a lot more paperwork and training than actual action. So, Lexi felt that she had taken a job right where she belonged, even if it wasn't, perhaps, all too respectable. She was sure her parents would have loved her to have a job like Ariston's, but that just wasn't her.
Certainly, if she weren't grabbing something to eat right than, she would have been in bed sleeping right then and there. Honestly, she didn't know how she was still awake and when Ariston let out a yawn, she quickly followed suit. It was infectious and it took a moment for her to get over the yawn. "Ahh, probably should be, but I had to eat. We don't always get time off when we're working," she shrugged. Anytime she talked much about her job, it probably sounded like a terrible place to work, but she wouldn't have bad-mouthed it for anything. It had it's downsides, sure, but it treated her well enough and it was better than the majority of the other jobs that she could have come across. She could handle the lack of sleep just fine, as it was, though she'd be lying if she told you she wouldn't have minded at least a bit more time to herself.
The last thing Lexi would be doing after a long day of work was working even more, so she definitely had to admire Ariston for what he did. "That's crazy, mate. You might want to consider a nap or something before you tackle any serious work," she suggested, giving him a look of concern. She knew how pressing a job as an Auror could be and she imagined that he was probably at least as exhausted as she was. Lexi was the sort of person that could worry about her friends all day and if Ariston wasn't sleeping enough, than she certainly was going to worry about him. "You'll work better rested up, anyways, yeah?" she added with a slight nod. Obviously, his work was important and making mistakes because he was overly tired would be a terrible thing.
With her food now in front of her, Lexi was more than ready to start eating and the first few bites already started to rejuvenate her. It wasn't enough to pep her up to her usual level of cheerfulness, but she wasn't falling over asleep anymore, so that was good. "Ah, yeah, those were good times, definitely. I don't know that I miss it, though. Life is just as great now," Lexi replied with a shrug. She was hard to bring down and she was just as happy now as she was back when she was in school. There was more pressure now and she had more responsibility, but it wasn't bad. Really, it was probably good for her to have some sort of responsibility to worry about. "I guess I mostly just miss seeing everyone all the time," she added. She saw people now, but definitely not as much as she used to and she kind of missed it.
