Louis was usually a pretty difficult guy to bum out, but when the weather was as cold as it was and when there was nothing to do inside the castle at all, it was pretty hard to stay in a good mood. It was too cold to leave the castle for anything fun, since Louis wasn't a big fan of getting frozen to death, so he had been stuck inside for the majority of the day. It wouldn't have bothered him so much if it weren't for the fact that everyone seemed to be in a rather glum mood all the time as of late. What with the kidnappings a few weeks prior and the rumours flying around about something happening with Frankie Thomas, no one seemed to be in as festive a mood as they should have been, given the proximity of the holidays. The boy had kept his spirits up as best he could, but somehow it just seemed like it was all in vain, since no one else seemed to be nearly as cheerful.
Having exhausted his potential list of things to do around the commons room, Louis was ready to take off and see what the rest of the castle had to offer. His homework was done, he didn't have any exams in class to worry about and most of his mates were either out doing something else or sleeping, so there wasn't much around for him to do. Wandering off out of the commons, Louis nipped into the kitchens. When in doubt, eat food, was always a good motto for the young boy to live by. After all, there was never such thing as eating too many times in a day and Louis was a growing boy, so he had to eat plenty. Or something like that. He grabbed a few pastries to take with him and left from kitchens with a marginally better outlook on the rest of the day. Even if he didn't find anything particularly exciting to do, he at least had food with him to snack on as he meandered around the castle, in hopes of finding something or someone of interest.
Heading up the stairs, Louis found himself in the entrance hall, which was oddly deserted. There wasn't much to do there, he supposed, and since there weren't many people leaving the castle to avoid the rains, it was quite lonely there. With nothing of interest there, Louis turned to head upstairs, maybe to visit his cousins or something in the Gryffindor tower. However, before he could get out of the entrance hall, he felt a tug at his robes before they were ripped off of him, leaving him in only his pants and t-shirt. "Hey, what th-" he started to shout as he turned around to see who it was. Letting out an irritated groan when he saw who it was, Louis was rather less than pleased. "Peeves, come on now. That's the only good pair of school robes I've got," he complained, pleading with the cackling ghost to give him back his stuff. Yeah, that wasn't going to happen.

Though Fitzwilliam wanted to be happy, he could not smile. Any hint of happiness was nonexistent. But all signs of anger and hate was buried. He needed to keep it buried. His family and friends needed him to be strong. He was the oldest boy, but on top of that he was the one who always managed to have words of advice and that was something he intended on keeping up. But the fact that more people who needed his advice lurked about in the common room made William leave, but what did attract him was the rainy out doors. Not many enjoyed getting drenched, but to Will it was refreshing. It was cleansing. It made all negative thoughts disappear and luckily William rarely got ill so the rain became even more attractive.
However as soon as he entered the entrance hall he found something he could not ignore, despite his negative mood. Louis Weasley and Peeves. As soon as he saw the situation, Fitzwilliam grabbed his wand from his back pocket while warning the ghost, Give Louis his robes back Peeves. But Peeves being Peeves the warning was ignored and the ghost continued to taunt both Louis and Fitzwilliam causing a scowl to appear on his face. Pointing the wooden instrument towards the pest, Will quickly said a charm that not only allowed him to grab the robe from the poltergeist but froze it as well.
A faint grin appeared on William’s face as he returned the robe to its owner, Here you go Louis, how have you been? Despite not wanting to converse Fitzwilliam was raised to respect everyone and that was exactly what he intended on doing. But as a few seconds passed on by Will realized Louis was not that bad for company. He was a great kid and was a bit more appealing than getting drenched.

No amount of pleading with the ghost was going to get Louis his robes back and he was feeling quite hopeless as he stood there looking up at the ghoul. Most people probably would have just blasted the poor thing with their wands and been done with it, but Louis was about as non-confrontational as they came. He hated the idea of causing anyone harm, even if it was a ghost and he much preferred trying to reason with the creature. Not that reasoning with Peeves was ever really an option. He was honestly about ready to give up on his robes and head back to his dormitory defeated before he heard approaching footsteps coming down the stairs. His head shot back to see who it was and a rather wide grin crossed his face when he saw that it was Fitzwilliam Thomas. Though they weren't best mates or anything, he quite admired the other guy. They were both extremely protective of their families and that was something Louis connected with.
Not to mention, Fitzwilliam was bigger, stronger and much more capable of dealing with Peeves than he was. Of course, even with Will there, Peeves wasn't quite willing to play nice and just give Louis his things back. That was obviously too much to ask from the ghost. Shifting uncomfortably as the ghost continued to twirl around, Louis noticed that Will was drawing his wand. He didn't like the idea of cursing Peeves, but at the same time, he trusted that Will wouldn't do anything to seriously harm the thing and so he let the boy continue. A small grin took over when the other boy managed to get his robes, bringing them over to Louis. "Hey, thanks man," he said with a nod, pulling the robes back on over his shirt to warm himself back up a bit. It was definitely a miracle that Will had shown up when he had.
Louis was actually a bit surprised to see the other boy, since most of the Thomas family had been pretty distant what with the drama surrounding them and all. His heart certainly went out to the clan, since he knew that he would be utterly devastated if anything bad were to happen to any of his family members. "I've been doing alright, yanno," he replied with a light shrug. He hadn't really been up to a whole lot lately, but he didn't mind it all too much. He was happy enough as it was. "You doing okay, mate?" he asked, his voice clearly reflecting his concern for Will. As the eldest boy, he was sure that Will was doing everything possible to keep the rest of his family alright and make sure that everyone else was okay. Sometimes a guy just needed to get away from it and take care of himself for awhile. "Want to go grab food or somethin'? I owe you big time for this," he asked, figuring the least he could do was get Will out of the castle for awhile, even if it wasn't the best weather.

The faint smile grew as he nodded while placing his wand back into his jacket pocket, Of course Louis. As their conversation continued the awkward, distant feeling disappeared. The troubles that had been haunting the seventh year slowly went to the back of his mind. The nerves and knots in his stomach disappeared as well as the anxiety. But the moment he heard the concern in his tone, hints of pain and anxiety appeared on his face as William’s mind drifted off to his sister. However the moment his mind drifted off to Francesca he shook his head and replied with a forced grin on his face, I’m…I’m…alright and that’s good to hear.
What Louis and the rest of the world had no clue about was his increasing hatred for Felix Wood. Had Felix not shacked up with his sister she would have never gotten pregnant then she would have never lost her kids and would have never needed to get changed. As thoughts of his sister and Felix entered his mind a scowl appeared on his face, but quickly as the scowl appeared again he shook his head. It was Fitzwilliam’s method of emptying his mind, but as soon as he began shaking his head something better entered his mind, food with company.
Nodding his head William responded, You don’t really owe me anything, its my job as a Prefect. But food sounds good. I can get us a discount at the Three Broomsticks, if that’s where you want to go. The choice is your’s. But before heading out Fitzwilliam looked down at his clothes and found it to be satisfactory, despite the lack of school robes. As Will headed towards the door there was an awkward silence between the two. It was not that William lacked social skills, he had plenty. It was the negative pains and thoughts that blocked his ability to converse, but the moment he reached the door he shook his head and attempted to strike up conversation, How are your classes?

Alright didn't seem like a word Louis would have used to describe Fitzwilliam at the moment. He could tell that there was quite the strain on the boy and he felt terrible about it. The least that he could do at the moment was do his best to get Will's mind off of everything and possibly have a good time instead. "That's good, that's good," he nodded, deciding that it was best not to call Will out on it. If Will wanted to talk about his troubles, than Louis would always be there to listen, but he wasn't going to push the other boy into discussing something he wasn't ready to discuss. Louis was the kind of friend that would be there whenever you needed him. He would drop anything he was doing to help a friend out, but he wasn't the kind of guy that was pushy about it. You knew he was there, but you didn't feel his presence pressing down on you or anything.
Even though it was true that Louis didn't really owe Fitz anything, he still felt that it would be a good thing to get the other guy out of the castle for awhile. Besides, Louis wasn't doing much of anything at the moment and it would be fun to get out and be around people. "Yeah, sure. They have the best butterbeer in town," he said with an eager nod. Louis wasn't picky as to where they went, so the Three Broomsticks sounded alright to him. It was close enough that they wouldn't get too completely drenched, as well, which was probably a good thing. Following Will towards the exit of the castle, Louis could sense that there was a bit of an awkwardness between them. Usually, Will was a fairly chatty kind of guy and it was weird to just be walking along in silence. Of course, Louis didn't blame the other boy in the least for not wanting to talk a whole lot. It was entirely understandable.
At the mention of classes, Louis simply shrugged a bit at first. To be honest, classes weren't all that great for Louis. He did his best, but it seemed like some of the concepts just didn't click in his head. "Ah, I don't know. Classes are classes, I guess. I'm managing, though," he shrugged. It wasn't something he was too fond of talking about and he had seriously been considering getting a tutor or something. "How about you? Last year here going alright?" he asked, looking over at Will with a curious smile as they started out into the rain. Louis drew his wand out and cast a quick spell to shield them from the majority of the downpour, so they were mostly dry as they walked over towards Hogsmeade. Reaching the entrance to the small pub, Louis opened up the door, holding it for Will as they moved into the warmth of the building.

as the two began heading out william tried to refrain from talking. actually more like he did not want to speak much. but as the two entered into the restaurant he replied rather quietly, good as it can get i guess. i have a girlfriend, i'm doing great in all of my classes, i know what i want to be after i graduate. though his life seemed great it was really quite painful. until he got his sister back, he knew his life would stay painful and seeing as how his sister was still not herself, life was continuing on that painful path.
looking about fitzwilliam quickly found a table for two open, walking over there he called over a fellow co-worker, hey em, mind helping me out over here? a butterbeer and fish and chips for me. turning his head from the red-haired girl he asked louis, do you know what you're going to eat or do you want some more time? though most people in the three broomsticks were aware of what was going about hogswarts especially considering how most workers were students, will decided to try to be more cheery which was obvious with the forced, faint smile that graced will's face.

Even though everything that Will was saying sounded like a good thing, Louis couldn't help but notice the slight tone of sadness that his voice held. It was sad, really, to know that the Thomas family was going through so much and even worse to see that Will seemed to be shouldering a lot of it. As the youngest of his siblings, Louis didn't really have that pressure, but sometimes he felt it with his cousins and he couldn't imagine what it was like for Will as the oldest of five. "Well, hey, that's not so bad. You're doin' better than me in all that, I bet," Louis nodded, chuckling a bit. He certainly didn't have a girlfriend, great grades, or any sort of plan for the rest of his life. He was hoping that it would somehow just come to him before he finished his sixth and seventh year, since he was certainly nearing the time when he needed to figure things out.
Heading into the Three Broomsticks, Louis followed closely behind Will as he found them a seat. Shaking his head, Louis already knew exactly what he wanted. As a Hogwarts student, it was pretty common that he found himself in Hogsmeade to eat and of course the most common place was usually the Three Broomsticks. Something about the atmosphere just seemed to capture everyone and make it a great place to dine. "I'd like a butterbeer and a ham sandwich, if you don't mind," he requested of the girl that Will had gotten to take their orders, giving her a wide smile as he spoke. Louis often wondered why he didn't have a job yet himself, since it just seemed like something he would need eventually, if just to gather some experience before heading out into the real world.
Taking a seat at one of the open tables so that they could await their food, Louis looked back over at Will with a smile. "So, what are your plans for the future? Auror, healer, professor?" he asked, curious to see what Will was thinking of doing. He found it helpful to hear about other people and what they intended to do, since it gave him ideas about his own possible career path. There was always something new and exciting to hear about and Louis really just needed some guidance as to where he wanted to go with his life. It wasn't that he was lazy and didn't care, it was just that he didn't know what would be best suited towards his strengths.
