Austin Abarno, a nineteen year old Australia native, standing in the heart of London? It was a serious shock. The boy never even dreamt about leaving his small town life behind. The bonfires, the surfing, his friends, there wasn’t one bad thing about his life. He was out of school, free to roam and do whatever he pleased without anything to tie him down. Austin would run with the pack every day and night, all of them were extremely close friends. He had a fucking awesome girlfriend and his family was far away from his personal business, either dead, in jail or far enough not to care. He lived in his quaint, little shack between the beach and the woods with not to much more than a person living by himself would need. The pack used his shack as a meeting place or a hangout most of the time and Austin didn’t mind. Mi casa es su casa. He didn’t speak Spanish, but he did like to use that phrase. When the boy wasn’t chilling with his friends, he was working at the auto repair shop that wasn’t too far away from where he lived. Austin could fix just about anything you put in front of him; car engines, motorcycles, refrigerators, you name it, he can fix it. Everything was perfect until one of the main pack members left. Everything changed for a little while. Things felt a bit odd, out of place or something. Their Friday night booze and bonfire tradition began to fade away. It just didn’t feel right to the boy and for a while he tried to ignore it thinking it would get better. He looked forward to the weekends that his friend would come back and visit, but that wasn’t enough for him. During that short period of time Austin realized a lot of things. They seemed to have all crashed into him at one time. He really liked the girl that left, but he was torn between his hometown and homeboys and the girl that he felt things were right when she was around. It took the boy a while to come to his conclusions, which landed him in London.
Austin wasn’t used to this kind of weather. It was too damn cold and damp, which wasn’t that enjoyable at all. He zipped up his worn leather jacked and walked up the street. Of course, a romantic like Mr. Abarno had to stop to up flowers to greet his lovely girlfriend with. Walking into the flower shop, he stopped to let his eyes scan over the vast selection of flora on display. Choosing a handful of purple wildflowers, he tossed some change onto the counter for the cashier and left. Austin carefully placed the bouquet inside of the saddlebag of his motorcycle before starting it up and heading to the address that had been scribbled onto his palm.
Austin pulled up to the house, his eyebrows raised. Damn, he wasn’t expecting her to live in a bridge. It was pretty cool though. The boy swung his leg over the bike and collected the flowers, walking confidently up the front steps. He buzzed the doorbell and waited patiently for a few minutes with no luck, then he pressed the bell again and checked the time on his watch. It was midafternoon, around four o’clock. Ilyana probably wouldn’t be home for an hour or two, which was unfortunate and he honestly couldn’t wait that long. He didn’t know what to do in the new setting for a few hours. Looking up and down the street for any wandering eyes, he saw nothing. Swiftly he walked back to his bike, kicked the stand up and walked it around to the side of the building. Once he was back at the front door, he dug through the pockets of his leather jacket for his lock picking tool which he carried around everywhere with him. You never know when you’re going to need to pick a lock, plus, the tool doubled as something he could fix parts of his bike with. It took Austin several minutes to pick the lock. The boy had a lot of practice with it back home breaking in and out of places, but back there he could easily just rip some of the doors off of their hinges. He closed the door gently behind him and took the elevator up to the penthouse. The view of the city was gorgeous as he looked out of the window, ascending to a remarkable height. Stepping off of the elevator, the boy passed through the kitchen and walked down a narrow hallway. He tried the door nearest to him on the right, turning the knob and stepping over the threshold. The boy’s eyes glanced over the room. The walls were white and sterile looking, like a doctor’s office. The bed was made and looked as though the sheets had been pressed with an iron and the floors were spotless. It was too clean to be the room of a teenage girl. Walking out, he tried the next door at the end of the hallway. One quick glance at the wall on the right and he automatically knew that the room did not belong to his friend. The caged rodent was an immediate giveaway. Ilyana would never keep a creature like that in her room. Girl’s clothes were alung everywhere and the room wreaked of sex and perfume. There had to be at least a dozen pairs of shoes out. Definitely not her. Austin exited from the room fairly quickly, seeing as the weasel-type-thing in the cage was giving him the evil eye and looked as if it was about to break out and maul him to death. That was not something on his list of things to do upon his arrival to England. The next and last door in that hallway was on the left side. He walked in cautiously, preparing himself for another rabid looking creature with beady red eyes, but was pleasantly surprised by a familiar scent. It reminded him of home. There was no doubt in the boy’s mind that this was her room. It had to be. The purple walls, somewhat tidy floors and the scent of Australia gave it away. Austin walked in deeper and placed the flowers on her bed. They matched the color of her walls, which was nice. The boy walked around for a moment, looking at the photos she had hanging up. There was a mixture of familiar and unfamiliar faces, a few of them caught his eye. The boy was about to pick up a photo of himself and Ilyana, but was rudely interrupted by the growling of his own stomach.
Austin remembered walking through a kitchen to get to the room and figured that his friend wouldn’t mind. He strolled back to the kitchen and to the refrigerator. There was a lof of fancy shit in there. He figured it would be best to leave that stuff alone, so he pulled out a few things and searched the cabinets for bread. Austin whipped together a pretty awesome sandwich and wolfed it down, barely chewing the huge bites. The boy washed it down with some milk and then returned to Ilyana’s room. Austin stopped in front of the photo of the two of them and picked it up, turning to sit on the bed. It was a pretty kickass picture that totally summed up their relationship. They were at the beach at around sunset, the time when the sky was a blend of pink and orange. The two of them were sitting next to each other in the sand in their bathing suits, surfboards by their sides. Each of their faces glowed with a laughing smile. Austin had his arm around her. Seeing the photo and reflecting back to the memory made the boy smile. He longed to see that same smile on her face again. He couldn’t wait until Ilyana got back. Her reaction to the surprise would be priceless, another memory to hold in his mind forever, a gesture in time that he would probably never forget. Maybe he could convince her to come back to Australia again, get the old group back together. He missed them and her all together. It would be amazing to have her back.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Being in England wasn't something Ilyana was fond of in the least. The people were sometimes alright, but it really just wasn't home. Ilyana belonged with her pack, the people she had grown up with and knew she could trust with her life, not there in England with a bunch of new people that just didn't understand her. Sure, some of them were okay, but the people there weren't all werewolves and though they could sympathize to a point, they had no idea what it was like. Even if she could function like a normal person for the most part, she was treated differently and unless you were a fellow werewolf, you wouldn't get it. Her pack understood it and they understood her and that was where she wanted to be. She played along, she acted like she was alright with being there, but she hated it. She hated being forced into a life that wasn't hers and she spent every minute wishing she was back where she belonged.
However, she couldn't and it killed her. She understood that werewolves were dangerous, sure, and that certain laws that were in place were probably necessary, but she completely disagreed with the laws that kept her from simply picking up and moving home again. The fact that she was just a few short months away from being considered a legal adult made her seriously question the fact that they wouldn't let her live on her own yet. Even if she was dangerous when transformed, she didn't think that it should require her to have a full-time guardian that they approved of. The pack had plenty of people over eighteen and they were doing just fine for themselves on their own, so she didn't see why they couldn't vouch for her juts like Felicity was able to. It didn't make sense to Ilyana now and it probably never would. Anything keeping her away from her real family wouldn't make sense to her at any point. There was a place where she needed to be and the separation from her pack just wasn't healthy.
Since it was a Friday, Ilyana was planning to take off from the campus as soon as she had finished with her classes to stay at Felicity's place for the weekend. She preferred being there than at the school, since she had her own room and it was generally just a more comfortable atmosphere. A lot ritzier than she was used to, for sure, but there were less people and that was more her style. Back in Australia, she had pretty much lived out in the rough. The family had a small shack right on the beach, the town was small and that was how she liked it. Hogwarts had too many people around and there was just too much stimulation for the young wolf. She preferred calm days at the beach, surfing and hanging out by the bonfire far more than any of the other crap that went on in life. Sure, she'd go out for a good time once in awhile, but it just wasn't where she was the most comfortable.
The last class of the day was over soon enough, which Ilyana was more than pleased by. Grabbing her bag from the ground, she quickly left from the potions class and made her way back to the Slytherin commons room. She had already packed up to head back to Fel's earlier in the day, so she simply picked up her duffel bag of things and headed straight back out the door. It was a short hike from there to the outskirts of the castle, from which she was able to apparate back to the city. Reappearing in the alley just outside of Felicity's apartment building, Ilyana nipped out into the street and started up towards the bridge. It was a weird place to live, for Ilyana at least, but it was probably the nicest place that she had ever seen. Hitting the button to grab the elevator up, Ilyana waited for a moment before her impatience drove her towards the stairs. They were faster anyways.
Getting her key out, since she knew that Felicity was working that day and Carleigh was, well, Carleigh, Ilyana went to unlock the door. However, she found it strangely unlocked and was able to just walk in. She had no idea how that had come to happen, since usually Felicity was strict about keeping the house locked up, but she didn't think too much on it and simply locked it behind her. Yawning slightly as she walked down the hall, Ilyana was more than ready for a nice nap. Obviously, being at school all day took quite a bit of effort and she deserved to just relax, maybe eat something, or just do absolutely nothing at all and sleep. All of the above options sounded good to Ilyana, for sure. However, the more time she spent there in the apartment, the more she started to realize that something was off. It wasn't just that the door was unlocked, it was that something smelled kind of, well, different.
Were she being honest with herself, she would have told you that it smelled like werewolf. However, Ilyana knew that there was no way another werewolf would have been in the apartment, so that was just a crazy thought. Though, perhaps Felicity had had her team over and Sasha was what she was smelling. Shrugging it off, but keeping herself alert, Ilyana continued down the hallway to her room. Slinging the bag off her shoulder as she pushed through the doorway, Ilyana tossed it down to the ground. Turning on her heel towards her bed, Ilyana stopped in her tracks when she realized that her bed wasn't quite as empty as she had been expecting. Not exactly what she was expecting to come home to and it took her a few moments to process that there was another figure in the house. Not just another person, however, but the one and only Austin Abarno. It had been a few weeks since she'd seen the guy and even that was far too long.
Letting an excited squeal out from her mouth, Ilyana instantly charged forward, hopping onto the bed with him and tackling him into a huge hug. Ilyana really did love her boyfriend. They had been "together" for years now and they just...worked. However, Ilyana also knew that she wasn't ready for a serious relationship and so they were still a very open relationship. They were together, sure, but they were together and okay with seeing other people. At least, Ilyana was pretty sure that was how it was, anyways. It had been so long that she wasn't even sure what the state of their relationship was anymore. "Austiiiin, what the fuck?" she asked, leaning back a bit to look at him, almost as if she still didn't believe that he was actually there in her room. Which, to be honest, would be an accurate statement. "What are you doing here? How did you get here?" It was definitely a good time for rapid questions.
Gently pushing him down into the bed, she stretched out and rested her head on his chest with an excited grin. That was definitely a position that she had missed. She didn't have anyone like that to cuddle with here in England and she hated it. Sure, there was Dean, but he was unreliable as a snuggle buddy since he had his stupid vampire girlfriend. "I miss you Aussie," she mumbled. To be honest, she kind of didn't care how he had gotten in or what he was doing there. All that really mattered at the moment was that he was there and that she was extremely excited to see him. "That's a cute picture of us," she added, noticing the photo that he was holding. It was one of her favorites of the two, since it really just captured them in a moment. A moment much like this one where they had honest emotions just coming forth and they were just happy to be there with each other.

Austin sat on the bed, his olive green eyes were glued to the photo that he held in his hand. His mind drifted back to the moment that had been frozen in time. It was one of their Friday night bondfires where they spend the whole day and night at the beach. It was always a good time and no matter how many times they did it, things never got boring. At this one in particular, there was a lot of booze and time spent night surfing. It was right before Ilyana was shipped out to England. From the looks on their faces, someone said something stupid, which was nothing out of the ordinary for that crew.
A sharp squeal pierced the silence in the room and Austin's mind snapped out of his little flashback. His head whipped around to look over his left shoulder toward the door to see Ilyana practicallym flying toward him. A wide grin took over his face as he opened his arms and braced himself for the tackle. He wrapped his thickly muscled arms around the petite figure of his girlfriend and embraced her tightly. "Surprise?" he said with a goofy grin followed by a bit of a shrug.
"I definitely came to England to catch butterflies," Austin said with a roll of his eyes, a corner of his mouth pulled back into a smirk. "Why else would I have shown up in your room." That charming half smile apeared on his face. It was pretty obvious that he was there to see her. He didn't know anyone else who lived in Europe, heck, he barely knew anyone outside of Australia. He had some cousins in America, but they came to visit him in Australia only once a year. "I grabbed my bike and hopped on the next plane to London. Pretty cool, eh?"
The two of them leaned back and Austin wrapped an arm around Ilyana. "I missed you too," he whispered into her ear and tenderly planted a kiss on the top of her head. The girl by his side smelled sweet, just like he remembered. It seemed like nothing had changed, aside from the gross weather here. He missed this, he missed her. He would do anything to get her back to Australia with him. She didn't belong here with all of these people, she belonged back home with him and the pack. They all missed her too, there was no doubt about it.
"Yeah, I like this one the best," Austin spoke casually. "That was a pretty awesome day at the beach." The waves were massive, the weather was hot and the sun was beaming. The night was warm, with a little bit of a cooling breeze, the stars were out and bright and the fire was blazing high. The boy sat up for a moment, placing the picture down on the nightstand beside her bed. "So, what have you been up to here?" he asked. They had a lot of catching up to do, especially because he was in England because she could take him out and show him the sites. He would finally be able to meet the infamous Stryders and the people that she has talked about when she came to visit.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Surprise was the understatement of the year in such a situation. Ilyana didn't even know what to think at the moment, just that she was extremely thrilled to see Austin there in her room. She had missed him more than anything else back home and to come back to see him just chilling out as if it were no big deal was probably the best thing that she could have imagined. Letting him pull her into a firm embrace, Ilyana's smile simply continued to grow as everything started to hit her. "Uh, yeah. Just a bit of a surprise. Best surprise ever, even," she commented with a serious nod. She wasn't exaggerating in the slightest with that and she sincerely was happy to see Austin there. Her day to day life was getting to be far too dull and Austin was just the thing that she needed to spice things up a bit and make them interesting.
Crinkling up her nose at the boy, Ilyana stuck out her tongue in response to his sarcasm. Of course he was there to see her, but it was still such a shock that he was there that she had to ask. "You know what I mean, goofus," she replied, shoving his chest lightly with her hand, but still keeping him close to her. "And, I'm sorry to say, I can't help much with your search for butterflies. You might have to settle for me," she added with a smirk of her own. Austin off on a butterfly hunt would certainly be something to see and probably wouldn't be something she'd see anytime soon. Though, they did go off on nature hikes sometimes back home, so perhaps one day she would drag him off to look at butterflies or something stupid. She had a feeling that no matter how ridiculous it was, he would probably agree to do whatever she asked of him.
The fact that Austin had just packed up his things and hopped on the next flight out to London was what Ilyana loved best about him. She was an impulsive person herself and she made decisions on a whim, so being with someone that was just the same made things even more exciting than usual. "Look at you. Picking up and moving halfway across the world just for me," Ilyana commented in a teasing voice. Even if she was joking around, the fact that he did that was kind of amazing. No one else would do something like that for her and it astounded Ilyana that anyone would want to. "You're the most romantic man I've ever met, Aussie," she added with a soft smile. He really was quite romantic when he wanted to be and Ily loved the little surprises that he came up with. Of course, this was the most insane thing he'd ever done, but it just made her love him all the more.
Just lying there, snuggled up next to Austin was the perfect moment for Ilyana. It had been way too long since she had last been able to just sit there with him and relax and she missed it quite a lot. Hell, sometimes when he was around she wanted nothing more than to just fuck the rules and leave back to Australia with him. She could deal with being a fugitive or something. Though, she had a feeling that being on the run for the rest of her life wouldn't be all that fun. Readjusting herself so that she could look at the picture with him, a soft smile arose on her face. It certainly had been the perfect day. "I miss those days, Aussie. Being here sort of bites," she admitted with a light sigh. England wasn't as bad as she had been expecting by any means, but despite how easy the move had been overall, it just didn't feel right. Unless she was home, everything just seemed wrong to the girl. It would never be her home like Australia and the pack was, she felt.
What had Ilyana been up to? That was a question that could take ages to answer, really. Her life had been so busy as of late that she didn't even know where to start. "Well, uh. School and I play Quidditch for my house's team. Then I have like the whole new family thing to deal with. Carleigh is kind of a bitch usually and Felicity is kind of grumpy, but they're alright. I'm sure you'll charm them better than I could," Ilyana started, listing off a few of the things she had been up to. "Oh, and I was like investigated the other day because some muggle got eaten and they blamed me." Other than that, nothing seemed all too important to mention, though she wouldn't have minded just sitting there for hours and talking about every little thing with Austin. "What about you? How's home? How's the pack? And most importantly, how are you?"

"Consider it a Christmas present from me to you," he said with a charming smile. "Damn. I should have put myself in a box or something. Or, oh, wait, close your eyes." Austin looked around the room and conveniently found a ribbon sitting on the nightstand beside the bed. He didn't trust her not to peek, so he pulled his forrest green shirt off of his back and held it to her face for a minute until he moved her hands to hold it up there. "No peaking, okay?" Austin rolled out of the bed and snatched the ribbon off of the nightstand. He tied a bow around the belt buckle right above the zipper of his jeans and then pounced back onto the foot of the bed. He positioned himself to mimic the position of Rose from The Titanic and put on a seductive expression. "Okay. You can look now." He exaggerated the sexy face and spoke in an attempt to impersonate Rose's voice, "Draw me like one of those French girls." Austin's face was dead serious, but it didn't last long until his seductive face cracked as he tried to hold back laughter. This was one of those priceless moments you find yourself stuck in when you're with Austin.
After that little scene had ended, he crawled back over to where Ilyana was laying on the bed and curled up, putting an arm around her. "Hm, you, butterflies," he contemplated the difference out loud. "Both graceful, good fliers, and beautiful.." he put emphasis on the last point, "Yep, I think I caught my butterfly." He pulled her closer to himself and his fingers twirled around a lock of her dark hair.
"Just for you," Austin reassured her. There was no other reason why he would leave the pack and the town where he lived his whole life other than to see this girl. He was his whole world, his everything. This boy would fly to the moon and back for her if she asked him to. He was that kind of guy, willing to do anything, risk anything for the girl that he loved. Ilyana pointed out the obvious by telling him that he was the most romantic guy ever. It was true. He hadn't met anyone that had exceeded him on the romantic scale, except for, yanno, Prince Charming himself. "Oh, and speaking of being romantic, here, I picked these up for you on my way over here to break into your house," he picked up the bouquet of purple wild flowers that he had bought earlier. They were the same kind that were scattered all over Australia. They would remind her of home.
Ilyana commented on the photo he was holding in his hand. "I can only imagine what it's been like to live here for the past few months. I mean, there's like, no sun and no beach. How can you survive that?" It's not like she actually had a choice in the first place.
Austin listened intently as Ilyana spoke about what she had been up to. "Quidditch. That's pretty cool," he commented with a nod of approval. That was pretty impressive to just automatically make the quidditch team in a school that she was brand new in. As she described the two ladies that she lived with, he couldn't exactly place a name to each of the rooms that he had stepped in before he had reached Ilyana's. "Which one has the weasel?" he asked, scrunching his nose at the brief memory of the mean looking rodent. "I'll try my best to get them to like me. I dunno, but I see myself as a pretty like able guy," he said with a slight chuckle. It was true. The boy could charm anyone if he tried. The situation with the attack struck a nerve in the boy. "Aren't there other wolves around here and those filthy bloodsuckers? I could have sworn I had heard you mention a vamp or two around here when you came to visit me last time. Why you?" Even if Ilyana told him that she had eaten that human, he wouldn't believe it.
"Hmm, about me, about me..." Austin pondered for a moment. "Things have been pretty steady at the shop, but the pack started to fall apart a bit after you left. Rae broke up with Joey and he didn't take it very well. The two of them aren't talking at all. Dustin is finally out of school, so he's off doing his own little thing. As for the others, our evening hunt tradition sort of faded away. It's pretty much just me, Brett and Hailey now. And as for myself, I think it's pretty self explanatory. I'm here, aren't I?"

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - That sounded perfectly fine to Ilyana. Honestly, there wasn't anything in the world that would have made a better Christmas gift that Austin showing up and spending the holidays with her. She wasn't a very materialistic person at all, so she would have been more than happy to give up any gifts like that in favor of having Austin and maybe even the rest of the pack around for the holidays. Even for just a day would be more than Ilyana could have asked for. Just as she was about to respond with something snarky about a box, Ilyana paused to see what, exactly, Austin was getting up to. She had seen that gleam in his eyes often enough to know that whatever was to follow would be something for the memory books, no doubt. Resisting the urge to cat call when he took off his shirt, Ilyana let him drape it in front of her eyes as she lifted up her hands to hold it in place. Admittedly, as she heard him rustling around a bit, Ilyana was a tad nervous. You never knew what to expect with Austin, just that it would be something most people probably would never have thought up.
Wiggling back and forth in anticipation, Ilyana eagerly tossed the shirt to the side when he told her that it was safe to look. It was impossible not to erupt into a loud peal of laughter when she opened her eyes to see Austin displayed on her bed. Doubling over with laughter, it took her a moment to recover before she was able to even consider saying anything. "You, Aussie, are the most ridiculous person I have ever met. And I love you," she said with a nod, the grin on her face still absurdly large. "I do hope that I get to unwrap my super, sexy, awesome present though," she commented, a rather sly grin on her face as she spoke. Considering the fact that Felicity was bound to be home sometime in the nearish future, Ilyana didn't want to let anything get too out of hand, but sometimes with Austin looking like that, it was kind of hard not to let things just go where they may.
Settling her raging hormones down a tad, Ilyana let themselves meld back into the position they had previously occupied. Having his arm around her was just comfortable, safe. Her eyes gazed up at him, gleaming with both the excitement of seeing him and the absolute adoration she felt for him when he spoke. It was hard not to fall further and further in love with the boy every time he opened his mouth. He always seemed to know what to say and sometimes it left Ilyana feeling completely useless when it came to compliments. "A butterfly all for you," she nodded, more than happy to say something like that. Even if they weren't technically exclusive, Ilyana often said things that would make it seem like they were. It just felt natural to say something to that effect, really.
The knowledge that there was at least someone out there in the world that cared about her as much as Austin did was something that Ilyana valued over anything else. Even if her parents had never been the parenting types, losing them hadn't been easy, exactly. Though, it was mostly the loss of her pack that had effected her and being stuck there in England, isolated from them, had been a difficult experience. As if he hadn't been perfect enough as it was, Austin then proceeded to pull out a bouquet of flowers. Now, Ilyana wasn't typically a flowers sort of girl, but when she saw which flowers they were, it was hard not to want to just sit there and hug Austin forever. They were the exact species of flower that were littered all about their own stopping grounds and she had spent many an afternoon out lying in them with the pack. "Aussie, you're the most lovable bastard. They're perfect," she commented, that being her way of thanking him for the gesture. Letting in a breath of air, Ilyana was pleased to say that it smelled like home for once in a very long time.
Surviving there in England certainly hadn't been an easy task. There were some small good things about it there, but Austin pretty much summed it up right there. The weather was awful, the beaches were scarce and most of all, she didn't have her pack there to help her through it all. "It's awful, innit? Don't know how these people live here forever," she agreed, shaking her head slightly in disgust at the thought of it. She certainly didn't intend to stay there any longer than was absolutely necessary, even if things weren't the same back home. Any semblance of her former life would be better than being stuck there in England for the rest of it. Besides, she didn't want to imagine what a life without Austin in it would be like. They grew up together and she hadn't ever gone this long without him around to look out for her and just be there.
Quidditch had definitely been one of the things keeping her from going completely out of her mind there. It wasn't nearly the same as surfing, but the athletic pursuit gave her something to focus her attentions on, at least briefly. "Yeah, Quidditch is good. And ah, that's Carleigh's room. Scary little fuck, that thing," Ilyana said, the disgust quite apparent in her voice. That thing had attacked her enough to lead to Ilyana developing very strong negative feelings towards the thing. "I'm sure they'll like you. Well, maybe not Carleigh, but she hates like, everyone, so that's to be expected," she nodded. She wasn't really sure how either of the two Stryder's would react to finding a random guy in their house for awhile, so that was a meeting she wouldn't mind postponing for awhile. At the very least, if anyone was going to be able to pull off a meeting like that, it would be Austin.
Austin's concern about the whole situation with the attack was much appreciated, since it had honestly bothered Ilyana quite a bit. She knew that she hadn't done it, since she hadn't been anywhere near the area when the attack had happened, but the Ministry's laws made it nearly impossible to catch an easy break as a werewolf. "I'm the only werewolf registered to the neighborhood, so it's automatically required that I get brought in for questioning, no matter what the situation," she answered with a bitter snarl. The laws were another reason why she hated being there. They were hardly better in Australia, but in the remote areas that she usually lived, it wasn't that big of an issue. A big city like this one led to all kinds of trouble that Ilyana wanted nothing to do with.
Hearing for sure that the pack had been going through a rough patch absolutely broke her heart. That group was her whole life and knowing that they were starting to spread out their separate ways wasn't something Ilyana would handle well. If she could go home right that moment and patch things up, she wouldn't have hesitated in the slightest. "That sucks, Aussie. What are we supposed to do? We can't let the pack fall apart," she trailed off, a hint of sadness to her voice. Somehow, she would fix things when she returned. No matter how much worse the situation may get, she was determined to make things right back home.

A huge, goofy smile spread across Austin’s face when he saw Ilyana react to his little set up. He couldn’t help not laugh at himself, laughing with the girl. This was definitely taking it to the next level, even for him. Austin was that guy that was always full of surprises. There was never a dull moment around him. “Why thank you,” he said with a swift nod and a smile, “I try.” His grin transformed into a sexy smirk, “You can unwrap it whenever you want. I’ve got all the time in the world.” It was true. Austin didn’t have any set date for leaving England. He would stay as long as Ilyana let him.
“All for me,” a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth as he wrapped his well-sculpted arms around the girl. She fit perfectly, like that missing piece of a puzzle that was finally found. Austin saw the look in her eyes as she looked up at him. He missed that. The boy pulled out the flowers and handed them to her, his grin a bit more sheepish. Ilyana’s reaction to them showed that she remembered and his plan had worked. He wanted to bring a little piece of home to this place. “I’m just glad you remember,” his smile softened.
“There’s no sun. Please tell me there’s a beach somewhere?” Austin honestly didn’t know how Ilyana was pulling through this. It was the complete and total opposite of Australia. He wouldn’t be able to survive long here if there wasn’t a beach and if the weather was always like it was that day. “Carleigh,” he rolled the name around his tongue, “That’s yourrrrr…Aunt-type-person who happens to be the same age as you?” Austin listened when Ilyana talked. Back home, he always listened to her stories, taking mental notes in his head. “What the hell is it? I mean, it looked like it wanted to gauge my eyes out.” This guy was pretty good with animals, he didn’t understand why this one little rat thing didn’t like him. As for people, he could be that guy that your parents warned you about or the guy your parents would love. “I remember. She’s the difficult one. I’ll have to work extra hard to get her on my side.”
The Ministry couldn’t just go around blaming anyone they wanted to. Ilyana had pretty good control over herself now. There must be another wolf around here. Or not. “Doesn’t matter if you’re registered to the neighborhood. Do they not understand that people have legs. They can walk to another neighborhood, or drive or whatever. I’m here, duh. That’s total bullshit.” Then he explained the whole situation back home with the pack and all. Things weren’t going well. “I don’t know what we can do. We can’t. I just don’t know what could fix this.”

It certainly wouldn't have been that surprising, since he was always able to come up with something bigger and better than his last great stunt. As her laughter began to die down, another smirk rose on her face at his comment. It was nice to know that he didn't seem to have any particular time that he needed to leave, which made her wonder if perhaps he didn't intend to leave. Unlikely, but she would have been extremely okay with that. "Whenever I want? Mmm, I will be taking full advantage of that for the entirety of your stay," she replied with almost a growl to her voice. If she could convince Austin to stay for awhile, than perhaps it wouldn't be so bad living there in England for the rest of her school year. Hopefully, after that she would be heading home to Australia for good
Nothing could possibly make Ilyana forget her home and the little things about it that made it special. Even if she had been away for what seemed like ages, she held a perfect memory of her homeland in her mind and nothing could tarnish it. "I couldn't forget if I tried, Aussie. Not when you're still there," she said with another soft smile. Perhaps she could get used to living somewhere else if she still had Austin with her, since he really was home for her. When she didn't really have anywhere else to call a home, Austin had always been there. Though the loss of her parents, her home, everything, Austin was still there. More than anything, he was home for her and wherever he was, she could be happy. Yet, for some reason, she hadn't let herself just accept that he made her happier than anything and truly settled down with him.
Ilyana wanted to tell him that they were surrounded by beaches and that they had beautiful waves to surf and that the sand was perfectly warmed at all times. That, however, would be a complete and utter lie. "Well, we can apparate to a beach, but that's about it," she answered with a glum expression. It wasn't exactly easy to sell the idea of staying in England. Though impressed with Austin's ability to recall the little details that she had told hm about her new family, she wasn't surprised at all that he did. He had always been an amazing listener, much better than she was certainly. "Yeah, that would be her. She's an interesting one, for sure," she said with a shake of her head. Interesting didn't even begin to cover it for Carleigh, to be honest. "Yeah, I think it's a weasel or a ferret and I'm pretty sure that it probably did. It attacks me if I catch it in a corridor alone, so just yanno, be careful," she warned, though she said it with a bit of a laugh.
It would definitely be interesting to see Austin attempting to win Carleigh and even Felicity over. On one hand, he was certainly charming enough that she could see that as being a complete possibility, but than again it was Carleigh and Felicity. They were probably just as unbending as Austin was charming and she had no idea how that would end up playing out. "It's bound to be a hell of an interesting time, to say the least," Ilyana laughed. She just hoped that she didn't end up dying somehow in the middle of everything going on. She knew that the other two had their own problems they were dealing with and she was hoping that perhaps that would keep them from focusing too much on Austin being there, but she had a feeling they would notice. Oh, they would notice and have plenty to say about it, she imagined.
Ilyana fully agreed that it was ridiculous for the Ministry to be investigating her when there was clearly no reason for it, but she didn't really have much of a say in the matter. Whatever the Ministry felt like doing was their business and everyone else just had to go along with it. "Yeah, it is, but whatever. They'll investigate, find out my slobber doesn't fit the scene and I'll be good to go, I think," she shrugged. She didn't like the situation, but she was doing her best to not make a big deal out of it. "Well, somehow things will get fixed. We just...I just need to be home again and we'll work on it. It'll be okay," she nodded, though by the way she bit her lip it was obvious she wasn't nearly as confident about that as she sounded.
