somewhere beyond my reach there's someone reaching back for me Never in her life had Gabby ever thought that something like this would ever happen to her. Being kidnapped and held hostage was both a surreal and terrifying experience and not something she would soon forget, if ever. The brunette was currently laying down on her side, her eyes half open and her gaze blank. She'd only regained consciousness around ten minutes ago and had remained quite still as she tried to asses her surroundings. The room she was currently being held in was dark, damp and cold and reeked off must and rat pee. Her first guess had been a warehouse. There was an old abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of Hogsmeade but Gabby didn't think her captors would be dumb enough to keep her so close to Hogsmeade. People would eventually come looking for her and the other girls after all.
Thinking of the other girls made Gabby's stomach churn. Where were they? Were they safe? Had any of them managed to escape? The last thing Gabby remembered after tripping over, was rushed, heavy footsteps. After Shiloh had helped her up, Gabby had immediately cast out the first hex she could think of and had fired it at a shadowed figure who had been fast approaching. There had been a terrible shriek but before Gabby could fire off another hex she'd been hit across the face so hard that she'd blacked out. Her cheek throbbed painfully then as if to remind her of what had happened.
With a soft moan, Gabby pushed herself up into a sitting position and pressed a shackled hand to her cheek. It stung to touch it and straight away she could tell that it was swollen and bruised. Slowly dropping her hand so that her shackles didn't make all that much noise, Gabby glanced around at her surroundings, taking in everything she could. It was still too dark to make anything out and if she had to be anywhere, she hoped it was in the old, abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of Hogsmeade. At least that way, when people came looking, the might find her easily. Of course that was wishful thinking and she doubted she'd be found so easily.
Breathing out a slow and steady breath in an attempt to calm her nerves, Gabby began to check herself over to see if she had anything useful in her pockets. She didn't. Her captors had taken her wand and Shiloh's jacket, heck even her charm bracelet was missing. That had been her favorite too, a gift from Ari when she'd been nine. Thinking of Ari made her heart ache. Gabby would have given anything to be with her sister now, safe and sound. "Ari will come for me." she whispered in an attempt to keep her already low spirits from dropping any further. "Felix too. They'll come for me.. and everything will be fine." Tears began to well at the corners of her eyes and Gabby quickly wiped them away. She was busy thinking how stupid she was being by deluding herself that Ari and Felix would magically find her when she heard voices in the distance, growing louder and more defined.
"- - - told you, you can't"
"Look at what that little bitch did to my face" "Looks like an improvement to me, ahaha." "Move aside, you cretin"
"Boss said she isn't to be touched. He's gonna be real pissed if you fuck her up." "Well I'll just have to leave scars in places he won't see. Now move before I curse you." ".... Fine. Don't be complainin' to me when you get in shit for this."Gabby had remained perfectly still during the conversation behind a door she couldn't see. Her heart was pounding so hard against her chest that she felt like it might rip through at any second and the back of her neck had become damp with the fear she was now experiencing. Clambering to her feet as she heard a door that sounded heavy and old creek open, Gabby braced herself against the cold and battered concrete wall, ready to face the pissed off captor she'd hexed earlier. Light flooded the room and Gabby immediately winced against it, turning her head so that her hair fell in a curtain around her face. It took a couple of seconds for her eyes to adjust to the light before she lifted her head and came face to face with the kidnapper she had pissed off. The womans face was unrecognizable but that was probably because of the Furnunculus hex Gabby had hit her with. Large and ugly boils covered her face, some of them leaking puss. It was enough to make Gabby wince and she instantly regretted it when she did. The womans eyes lit up with rage and in a second she had Gabby's chin in her tight grasp, forcing Gabby to look her in the eye. "Don't like what you see?" The woman hissed, her face inches from Gabby's. When Gabby felt the cold tip of a wand press against her cheek she immediately tried to pull her face away, whimpering when the woman's grip tightened on her face. The urge to vomit became uncontrollable as Gabby came to realize what she was about to become victim to at this womans hands. Torture. "Come now. You've ruined my face. It's only fair that I repay the favor." Pressing the wood of Gabby's wand against the younger girls cheek, the woman muttered a curse that caused the tip of the wand to burn red hot and cut Gabby's skin wherever she drew a line across her face. The sound of Gabby's screams and the womans merciless laughter echoed around the room as she slowly and purposefully cut into her flesh, leaving angry red strips in her wake. Is it enough to love? Is it enough to breathe? Somebody rip my heart out and leave me here to bleed

It had been a few days now since the girls had gone missing and Ari was absolutely frantic with worry. At first, she had no idea that anything was going on, since it wasn't like she spoke to Gabby every day, but when she heard the smatterings of worry buzzing about the school, she had gotten pissed. Even though she wasn't involved at all with the whole Marauders/Death Squadron ordeal, she knew a lot about it. As a former Slytherin with a lot of friends in the group, she knew enough about the Death Squadron to know exactly who to go to in an attempt to find something out and possibly get them to release her sister. She rather hoped that it was just some sort of misunderstanding and that when they realized who she was they would let her go without any problems. The other people, she couldn't have cared less about, as long as Gabby was taken care of.
However, things didn't go over nearly as well as Ari had hoped. Klayton, though assuring her that Gabby would be fine, didn't send the girl back to the castle and that was a mistake. Ari didn't care about assurances, she just wanted to see Gabby safe and back in the castle again. Hell, even if she was friends with a lot of those people, she sure as hell didn't trust them one damn bit. Even if they claimed Gabby would be okay, she wasn't going to just sit back and wait for someone else to go save the girl. She had given Klayton an ultimatum to give to his superiors, giving them until sundown the next day to get Gabby back before she went after them. They probably thought she was kidding, but she wasn't. That, or they didn't take seriously the threat of one person coming after their entire operation, which would be a mistake on their part.
Had Ari not known that the full moon was coming, she probably would have gone after Gabby right away, but the knowledge held her back for the hours before that day came. She would be a lot more help in her other form and probably detrimental to any help if she wasn't. She knew that she wasn't the best with any sort of magic and barreling in to find Gabby when she was well, incompetent, wouldn't do anyone any good. So, she waited. Waited until she was powerful enough to go out, find her and bring her back without any sort of trouble on her part. Admittedly, Ari had never fought people before while in her wolfish form and the prospect of doing so was a bit scary. Yet, at the same time, she felt nothing but blood lust. She wanted them dead and she wanted to do it herself.
About an hour before the moon was to roll up into the air and the sun went down, Ari took off out to Hogsmeade to start searching for anything that could help her find Gabby. Klayton had given her enough information to know that the girls were somewhere in the area, all in separate locations, but other than that she had nothing. From what she knew from rumours, they had been taken from somewhere near the Shrieking Shack and that seemed like as good a place as any to start. By the time she got there, the sun was starting to fall, much quicker than Ari had originally anticipated. She knew she wouldn't be a danger to anyone she wasn't expressly intent on killing, since she had taken her wolfsbane all week, for once, but it still put her on edge knowing that at any moment she could burst into a fluffy monster. Not wanting to be out in the open while something happened, Ari hopped over the fence keeping people out of the Shack and entered into it to wait for the change to happen.
Walking in a bit further to the shack, Ari's eyes scanned about, looking for anything that could point her towards some direction that the girls might be kept. The place was overrun with too many scents, indicating that quite a few people had been there recently, but one in particular stood out- Gabby. She had been there. That was a good sign. Seeing a glint of something a little off to the side, Ari walked over and bent down to see what it was, picking up a small bracelet. For a moment, she cast it off as nothing, but then she realized what it was. It had been years ago that she'd given it to Gabby, but it was the going away gift that she'd given the girl before she moved out to start her Quidditch career. Ari was about to pocket it to be sure that Gabby got it back, but before she could do so, the moon hit her from through the window and she started to change.
Dropping the bracelet, Ari staggered back, letting the moon take over. Her body started to rip out of it's skin, shifting and changing itself into it's other form. Ari's werewolf form fell to the floor, rising again on all fours and panting slightly as the effort of the transformation took its toll. It was never a pleasant experience, that was for sure, but now she felt empowered. Her senses were further heightened and it would be much easier to track Gabby's scent, hopefully, and find where they had taken her. Flexing her paws out in front of her, Ari was ready to go. The bracelet, while she would have liked to bring it along, was going to have to stay there for now. They could get it later. Right now, she had business to attend to and sister's to find.
The extent of Ari's tracking skills were pretty much just her trolling around the Forbidden Forest and chasing after rabbits or other random animals, but she did it often enough that she felt confident in her ability to follow Gabby's scent to wherever she might be. Shaking herself off a bit to get used to the new body she was in, Ari padded off towards the door to start tracking Gabby. She knew she would have to be as stealthy as possible, since the odds of any townspeople just looking the other way while a werewolf trotted on by were pretty slim. Keeping to the shadows as much as possible, Ari started off in the direction of Gabby's scent. It was slightly masked by a stronger one, probably one of her kidnappers, so Ari hedged her bets and started to follow the stronger, much less appealing scent. It almost smelled like pus or something. Lots of pus.
The trail that she followed took Ari out of the main town, which she was glad about, and off towards a more abandoned area that had a few smaller looking buildings, most of which were in shambles. Her ears flicked up as she heard a scream from one of them, but it wasn't Gabby's voice. Probably one of the other girls. But Ari didn't have time to help them, she was after Gabby and Gabby alone. The trail was getting continuously stronger as she followed it and it was pretty clear that they had been by this way a lot more recently. Pausing outside of one of the doors, Ari went sniffed a bit further forward, finding that the trail ended there. If she was right, and she hoped that she was, Gabby was somewhere in that house. She could hear things shuffling around inside and voices coming from in there.
From what she could tell, there were only two people. Two people that were probably armed with wands and ready to kill. But Ari was angry and that meant a lot. Not really one for planning, Ari padded backwards and bit and charged forward at the door, breaking through it with a loud splintering of wood. There was one man in the room and he swiveled around when he heard the crash, instantly sending a curse Ari's way. The curse sank into her fur, causing a sharp pain in her shoulder as a long cut appeared. The pain, however, wasn't enough to stop her and she leaped forward, taking the man down and sinking her fangs into his neck and tugging to the side, snapping it instantly. It was the first time Ari had ever killed someone and yet, she didn't feel bad. She was protecting her family and if that was how she had to do it, than she would.
Hearing a thundering of feet coming up the stairs to the side, Ari's head turned to see who it was. She didn't know the woman, which instantly turned her against whoever it was. Darting to the side as another curse was flung her way, Ari managed to narrowly avoid another hit. The attack from before was starting to wear on her, however, and it was obvious that the blood flowing from her wound was starting to slow her down. Crouching to avoid another attack, Ari started to burst forward again, taking the woman down at the knees. Ari's head involuntarily moved away, the overwhelming smell of the boils on the woman's face overpowering her senses for a moment. That was the one that she had been following and that was the one that had Gabby.
Clamping her jaws around the wand arm of the other witch, Ari bit down until the wand dropped and rolled a few feet away. That would keep her relatively safe. Or so she thought. The woman, being a simple human, had no chance of rolling out from under the powerful weight of Ari's paws holding her down and she was effectively trapped. However, she did have full use of her other arm and was scrambling to grab hold of anything that could get the wolf off of her. Picking up a shard from the door that Ari had broken through earlier, she reached over and slammed it into Ari's side, causing her to reel back and yelp loudly with the pain. In that instant, the woman flung herself over towards her wand, but Ari had already charged forward once again to take the woman out, biting into her side and quickly disposing of her before she could get any more attacks out.
Looking around for just a moment to be sure that there were no others around that she would have to worry about, Ari gave a satisfied grunt before descending the stairs. The place smelled like hell, but she saw Gabby there and was relieved to see that she was still alive. Not in the best condition, but not dead. Limping over to where she was, Ari looked her over for a moment, giving her a low whine when she saw the cuts on her face. However, there wasn't time to worry about that at the moment. She had to get Gabby free from the chains and out of the house before anyone else came. Backing up slightly, Ari dropped her head to the chains, tugging at them with her jaws and pulling back until they were free from the wall. She couldn't unlock the shackles or anything, but at least Gabby was now free to leave. Motioning towards the stairs with her head, Ari signaled Gabby to get the hell out before turning to leave in front of her. Obviously, if anyone else showed up, she wanted to be the first thing they saw.

somewhere beyond my reach there's someone reaching back for me It seemed that the more Gabby screamed the more pleasure and glee her attacker felt, which in turn spurned her into attacking Gabby further. The woman had long moved on from slashing at her face, which was now bruised, swollen and covered in sweat. She'd claimed that Gabby wasn't screaming loud enough, that cutting her face wasn't pay back enough for what had happened to her own face. Apparently only the crutiatus curse would make up for what Gabby had done to her. The pain was unbearable and the woman only managed to hit her with the curse twice before she blacked out again.
When Gabby finally awoke, her throat was painfully dry and her face and body ached in a way that was indescribable. For a long moment she remained still, afraid that the woman would return and start up where she'd left off. Hours must have passed before Gabby finally managed the strength and courage to move. Starved, cold, injured and thirsty, she wondered how long she'd been in this room and thought it was a miracle that she was still alive. Moving so that she was sat upright with her back against the wall, Gabby gingerly pressed her fingers to her face and immediately regretted it. Silent tears began to fall down her face and they came even harder when she realized that she probably wasn't going to get out of here soon enough. Not whilst that crazy bitch was still out there.
Light flooded the room again but Gabby barely had the energy to turn her head away. Instead she closed her eyes and feigned sleep, hoping that if it was the woman, she'd leave her alone. Though it seemed unlikely. "You look like shit. Priscella really did a number on you, huh? Hahaha." Opening her eyes, Gabby looked up at the male who had entered the room. He had a creepy clown mask on to hide his face and protect his identity. In his hands was a brown wooden tray and when he placed it down on the ground, carelessly sliding it towards Gabby, she could see that he'd brought her food and a drink. Ignoring the stiff ache in her limbs, she rushed forward on all fours and grabbed the edge of the tray, dragging it back across the floor and returning to her spot against the wall. She downed the water first, which was very warm but she didn't care. The stale ham and cheese sandwich was next. She ate every bite and had to bang on her chest a little when some food got caught because she'd scoffed it so fast.
"Can I..." Gabby croaked and looked up, trailing off when she saw the male disappearing through the door. "...get some more water..." with a defeated huff she kicked at the tray with her foot and regretted it immediately. On top of being hit with the crutiatus curse and having her face carved, her ankle appeared to sprained from her trip at the shrieking shack. How wonderful. Resting her head back against the wall, Gabby closed her eyes and began to imagine different scenarios in which she was saved. Most of them involved Ari and Felix, probably because these two were the most important people in her life and the only two people she wanted to see right now. Maybe not Felix because she probably looked like hell but Ari for sure. But what if she never got to see them again? What if this was it?
When Gabby awoke this time around it was to the sound of the door to her room opening and to the feel of the light on her eye lids. Blinking open her eyes, she felt her breath catch in her throat when Priscella came into view, her face looking ten times worse than before. If it hadn't been a scary, life threatening situation then Gabby might have been proud of the powerful hex she'd performed on the woman before her. Except it was because of her handiwork that she was being "punished" by Priscella. "Oh you're awake. Excellent."
Pressing her lips into a hard line because she really didn't want to give her the satisfaction of screaming, Gabby braced herself for whatever Priscella had in mind. Closing her eyes, she pressed her back against the wall and awaited the next curse. But there was a loud crash from downstairs and when Gabby's eyes flew open, Priscella was racing out of the door. What was happening? Had someone come for her? Gabby stared at the open door across the room, her heart racing a mile a minute. A loud shrieking noise echoed throughout the building and rang in Gabby's ears, causing her body to tense up in anticipation. The sounds from above had come to a sudden halt and seconds felt like minutes and minutes felt like hours as Gabby waited in the room for something more to happen.
For a moment, Gabby thought she might have been hallucinating as a large wolf approached and bent it's great head to free her from her chains. It took a moment for her to realize that this wasn't a dream, it was really happening. And another moment for her to realize that she had been rescued and that the wolf before her was her sister. What other werewolf did she know that would come for her? Relief and happiness swelled in her chest, but there was no time to sit around and have a happy reunion. They had to get out and fast. Clambering to her feet when Ari motioned for her to follow, Gabby ran after the wolf, her limp slowing her down. They climbed the stairs and Gabby purposefully skipped her eyes over Priscella's lifeless form, whose body looked bent at an odd angle. It was only out of sheer luck that she spotted her wand out of the corner of her eye. Stumbling over, Gabby carefully bent to pick up her wand, wincing as she did so, before she hurried after Ari once more.
Cold air hit her face and blew back her hair as they exited the building and the second Gabby stepped onto free ground she collapsed to the floor in a jumbled heap, unable to put anymore pressure on her ankle. "Ari.." she tried to call out for her sister but it came out in a hoarse whisper but with her enhanced hearing, Gabby was sure Ari would hear it. Reaching out her hand, Gabby pressed her fingers into her sisters fur, the ghost of a smile pulling at her lips. "I think you're better as a wolf..." she teased, some of her sarcastic wit shining through a little.
A frown pulled at her lips when her fingers met something wet and warm matting her sisters fur. Pulling back her hand, she blinked, confused at the dark stain on her fingers tips. "Oh Ari.. you're hurt." Lifting her wand, Gabby used her free hand to feel along the wound in an attempt to decipher what type of injury it was. It felt like a gash, a large one. Of course Gabby knew just the spell for gashes, except she'd never used it before and she was so low on energy that she doubted it would do much but she couldn't not try. "Vulnera Sanentur" Gabby watched as her spell worked itself on Ari and prayed to Merlin that it would at least stop the blood flow if anything.

Your first love, yeah, you're so young, And you feel like a fallin' star.

Knowing that Gabby was out there missing and that he had no idea where she was drove Felix off the wall. Though he had been out there searching with the others for quite some time through Hogsmeade, it wasn't enough. Nothing would be enough until he was there helping her and at the moment, it seemed like that just wasn't about to happen. At the very least, he knew that she wasn't in the main Hogsmeade town. Honestly, all he could think to do at that point was to go over to the Shrieking Shack and maybe, just maybe, there would be some sort of sign as to where he should go. He rather doubted it, but he wasn't going to give up trying until somehow he came to find her. Slipping away from the other people that he had been searching with, Felix decided that he would work quicker on his own.
Everyone else, while he quite appreciated their help, were just getting in the way and Felix didn't have the time for that. He needed to work quickly, since there was no telling what was happening to any of the girls at the moment. For all he knew, they could be dead on the other side of the world and there was nothing that he could do about it. However, Felix was an optimistic person and he retained the hope that somehow he would be able to actually do something about the situation. Of course, what could one young kid do against a pack of attackers? Felix didn't care, though. Whatever happened, he would be out there fighting to get his friends back. That was just the sort of guy that he was and nothing could deter him from his goal.
Pushing the gate open to the Shrieking Shack, Felix poked his head in, scrunching his nose up at the smell of the place. It had a weird, musky sort of scent to it and Felix didn't want to be there any longer than he really had to. Moving inside, Felix's eyes scanned the area, looking for any sort of sign that Gabby had been there. Honestly, he wasn't even sure what he was hoping for. It wasn't like he was some sort of investigator that could just see little strands of hair or swatches of ripped clothing. He was just some stupid kid on a foolish mission and the odds of him getting anywhere, well, they were slim, but it was better than no chance at all. At least, that was what he had to keep telling himself. Felix was nearly ready to give up and just search somewhere else when he spotted a brief glint of metal off in one of the corners. Hurrying over to it, Felix picked up a small bracelet. It was one that he recognized as Gabby's and it gave him some small hope that perhaps he would be able to find her somewhere around there.
Tucking the bracelet into the front pocket of his shirt, Felix stood back up and turned to leave from the Shrieking Shack. If she wasn't there and she wasn't in Hogsmeade, the only place left to look would be the abandoned homes out on the far outskirts of the town. Honestly, now that he thought about it, that probably would have made a hell of a lot more sense as the first place to go looking and he felt a bit stupid for not having gone there originally. However, Felix was doing the best that he could and it wasn't like his frame of mind was entirely calm and suited for thinking. He was coming to things as quickly as he could and if he was a bit behind, well, he could only blame himself for it. Keeping to the shadows, Felix started to jog over towards the far reaches of the town, quickly becoming surrounded by a darkness and loneliness akin to a ghost town. It was the perfect place to keep hostages, really. Gabby had to be there somewhere.
Keeping behind the row of houses, Felix slowly made his way through the trees behind, coming up to each of the houses and looking inside, hoping to spot something that would indicate that anyone had been there recently. The first few houses seemed to be fairly quiet. No one was in them, no one had been in them and there was no chance that Gabby was there. Had there not been a few more houses, Felix probably would have lost any bit of hope that he still retained for seeing Gabby again. Creeping forward towards the next house, Felix heard low voices towards the front of it and a rustling of leaves. He didn't know who it was, so he bent down to hide behind the side of the house, leaning around slightly to see if it was friend or foe. What he saw was definitely not what he was expecting.
First, he saw Gabby. She looked pretty roughed up and that incited a fury inside of him greater than he had been expecting. Then, he saw the wolf. Felix knew that the Shrieking Shack was known as a bit of a werewolf abode, but he really hadn't been expecting to see one keeping Gabby hostage. From first glance, it seemed like Gabby had started to get away and that the wolf had pushed her down. The werewolf was now snarling over top her and if Felix didn't act soon, he was afraid that it might hurt her more than she was already hurt. It was probably dumb of him to take a werewolf on with nothing more than his basic knowledge of fighting spells, but he didn't care. If he could distract it long enough for Gabby to get away, than he would be happy.
Pulling his wand out from his pocket quickly, Felix ran out from behind the building and flashed a spell towards the werewolf, sending it flying into the air before it hit the ground and skidded into the next building. It looked like it had been temporarily taken out, so Felix ran over to Gabby, helping her up and ushering her to run. "Gabby, we need to get the hell out of here before it gets up. You go, I'll take care of it," he said, quickly coming up with some sort of plan to hold the wolf off while Gabby fled. There was so much more that he wanted to say, but he knew they didn't have the time. The werewolf was already starting to get up, it's hackles rising in a clear show of anger and it was coming towards Felix with an extremely dangerous looking glint in it's eyes. But Felix wasn't backing down and he stood his ground, wand in hand, waiting for Gabby to get to safety as quickly as possible.

Is it enough to love? Is it enough to breathe? Somebody rip my heart out and leave me here to bleed

Not wasting any time, Ari started to clamber up the stairs, a little uneasily. The gash in her front shoulder has been losing blood steadily since it had happened and the sharp shard of wood protruding from her underbelly was uncomfortable as hell, so she wasn't moving nearly as fast as she wanted to be. It took everything that she had to will herself to keep going at a reasonable rate, so she did. At the moment, her injuries were unimportant. All that mattered was getting Gabby out of there and somewhere safe before she could go off and tend to herself. As they reached the top of the stairs, Ari's jaw clenched up slightly as she saw the destruction that she had caused, hoping Gabby wasn't paying too much attention to the viciousness of the deaths that the two kidnappers had endured. Even if she knew she was a monster, she didn't want Gabby to see that in her.
Honestly, Ari was pretty certain that the whole ordeal in there, when it was discovered, might come back to give her trouble. She was supposed to keep herself locked up during the full moon and any word that there was a werewolf attack would inevitably fall back on her. She could explain herself to the Ministry, sure, but it would probably end up setting her plans to rejoin the Quidditch team back quite a bit. However, Ari found that she kind of didn't care. She wouldn't have changed what she had done one bit. Even if she and Gabby had their differences and didn't always get along, there wasn't much that Ari wouldn't do for the girl, especially if she was in trouble. Gabby was, pretty much, all the family that she kept in contact with anymore and that meant a lot, even if she didn't often show it.
Crouching down and exiting from the hole in the door, Ari started off towards Hogsmeade, pausing and looking back for a moment when she heard Gabby crumple to the ground. In an instant, she was back by the girl's side, a concerned look in her eyes as she looked her over. Ari couldn't really tell what was wrong, nor was there much she could do to help in the state that she was in, but at least she could stay there by Gabby's side and make sure that she was kept protected from any other attackers that might come forward. She didn't know if there was anyone else on the way, but she was going to keep her attentions high, just in case. There was no telling what could happen in the next few minutes and Ari wasn't going to leave anything to chance. Now that she'd rescued Gabby, no one was going to take her back.
Were Ari capable of talking, she most definitely would have protested Gabby's comment, but the most she could do to show her slight irritation was to huff out slightly and bare her fangs at Gabby. It was weird for Ari, to be stuck in her wolf form, especially when she was around a person. It was the first time that she'd been around anyone at all, let alone someone that she knew, and she had so many things that she wanted to say. However, all she could do was express her feelings in low whines and body language. Not exactly the easiest, especially for someone like Ari who talked a mile a minute on most occasions. Perhaps it was better this way though, since at least they couldn't get into any arguments about what to do and it wouldn't slow them down any.
Feeling Gabby's touch, Ari flinched back slightly, effectively wincing in pain as she probed the large gash across her shoulder. Well, obviously she was hurt. Ari knew that. She just didn't care. She got hurt all the time when she was a werewolf, though admittedly it wasn't ever as bad as this. However, she was fine with letting Gabby cast a spell on it that hopefully would help fix it up at least a little. The spell helped to close it up slightly, but it would take much more to really fix any of the injuries that she had. It was at least closed up enough to the point where it wasn't gushing blood out anymore, which would probably help things slightly. Not sure how to thank Gabby in such a form, Ari learned her head forward to lick her hand slightly, coming back with a large wolfish grin on her face.
One moment, she was standing there next to Gabby and the next she was flying through the air. Honestly, Ari had been so caught up with watching Gabby fix her wound that she hadn't been paying a lick of attention to what was going on around her and she was pissed with herself for it. Hitting the ground, Ari cried out once again as she felt the shard from before digging into her side even further. Ari slid a few feet further, coming to a stop as her back hit the house next to them. It took a few groggy moments for her to stumble back up to her feet and for a moment, all she could see were stars. As she got to her feet, Ari's teeth turned into an angry snarl and she was quite ready to go after whoever it was that had come to attack her and possibly Gabby.
A slightly confused look crossed her as she saw the boy, Felix, in front of her. That wasn't exactly what she had been expecting and she didn't understand why he was trying to get at Gabby. Shouldn't they be working on the same side? Unless he was involved with the kidnappers too. Clambering forward slightly, Ari was ready to pounce at a moment's notice and take the boy down. She didn't care if he was younger or if he claimed to be friends with Gabby, if he was there to attack than she was going to fight back. Whatever the case, if he was against them than he was going to have to go, she just felt bad that Gabby was probably going to be there to see it. The last thing that she wanted was for Gabby to watch her hurt anyone, which was why she held back for a moment, waiting to see Gabby leave before she pounced.

somewhere beyond my reach there's someone reaching back for me Although there was a very real possibility that another of the kidnappers may show up at any minute, Gabby couldn't help but revel in the relief of being reunited with her sister. All she wanted to do was collapse against Ari and cuddle up into her fur. Though she doubted her sister would appreciate that action all that much and anyone could creep on them and attack. Still, it wasn't like Gabby could get up, at least not right now. Just a few minutes of rest and then she'd try to make a move.
The healing spell she'd cast on Ari's wound hadn't worked anywhere near as well as it should have but it would have to do for now and Gabby thought that Ari might have agreed when she gave her hand a sloppy lick. "Oh, ew." she teased and poked out her tongue, a genuine smile gracing her lips at Ari's silly wolf grin. Seeing Ari in her wolf form was strange yet she seemed so familiar and safe. Gabby hadn't thought she'd ever see Ari like this, since her older sister believed that she was a danger in her wolf form. It was nice that she got to share this with her, to see her in her other form, even if the situation wasn't the best.
Their shared moment was short-lived however, when Ari was thrown up into the air and cast off into the next house. "Ari!" Gabby screamed her name, although it tore up her throat and she immediately whipped her head around to see who had attacked, her wand raised and ready to strike. Her hex got caught up in her throat as the figure raced over and a familiar face came into view. "F-felix?" she whispered but he was already pulling her up, telling to run, that he'd take care of the wolf. "Felix? No.. no! It's Ari." pushing down his wand arm so that he was no longer pointing it at Ari. Gabby gave him a level stare, hoping that he'd trust and believe her. "It's Ari.. don't hurt her." nodding her head at him, Gabby turned and limped her way over to where Ari was now stood.
"Are you okay?" Gabby knelt down besides Ari, because it was far easier than standing, and wrapped her arms loosely around her neck. "He was just protecting me, he didn't mean to.. it's okay." she whispered into her ear, stroking her hand over her fur in an attempt to soothe and calm her anger. The last thing she wanted or needed was for a fight to break out between her sister and her best friend, Gabby had enough to deal with, without Felix ending up dead too. "It's okay." She repeated again, rubbing Ari's head one last time before Gabby slowly climbed to her feet, using Ari for support. "We should leave."
Motioning for Ari to follow, Gabby headed over to Felix, her head down so that her face was shadowed in the night. Now that she was out of imminent danger, Gabby was very much aware of how positively awful she felt and how terrible she must look. It might have been a little vain but she didn't want Felix to see her like this; weak and fragile and broken, with horrible cuts all over her face. All she wanted to do was curl up in her bed and sleep all of the pain away.

Your first love, yeah, you're so young, And you feel like a fallin' star.

As the wolf got up, looking like it was ready to attack, Felix steeled himself, ready to start hurling more curses at the thing while Gabby left. But, she wasn't leaving. For a minute, he wasn't even listening to what she was saying, far more concerned with keeping the wolf at bay. When Gabby moved to push his hand down, Felix looked over at her like she was crazy. He'd heard of people developing some sort of strange attachment to their kidnappers, but honestly he didn't think that Gabby was the type to do that. "Gabs, we have to go, they kidnapped you, we have to..." he started muttering, before he realized what she was saying. Ari? That thing wasn't Ari, it was a werewolf. Was Gabby really so delusional from the experience that she believed the thing over there was her sister? Well, crazier things had happened. Obviously, he needed to get her out of there before something worse happened to her.
Standing back with a confused look as Gabby started to walk over to where the wolf was standing, fangs bared, Felix didn't even know what to do. He wanted to drag Gabby away and just carry her to safety, but clearly that wasn't an option. She seemed pretty convinced that the wolf thing was her sister and nothing Felix could say was going to convince her otherwise. At the very least, Felix was relieved to see that the wolf didn't seem to want to attack Gabby. Maybe he had been a bit hasty with his attack and the wolf was actually on their side. Maybe. Even if Gabby trusted the thing, Felix definitely didn't and he fully intended to keep an eye on the thing, just in case something happened. The last thing that Felix wanted to do was let his guard down and be at at fault if something terrible was to happen.
When Gabby motioned for them both to leave, Felix gave her a bit of a nod and turned to follow. It was time for them to get back to the castle, that was for sure. It had been a long night on his part and he was pretty sure that it had been even harder on Gabby the last few days. He had no idea what she had gone through, but he definitely knew that he wasn't going to let her out of his sight any longer than was necessary. There was no telling if there was any more danger around the area and Felix was going to be on guard until they were both back in the castle and away from the dangers that lurked outside of it. Staying close by her side as they walked, Felix made sure that she was okay to keep going and that she wasn't about to fall over or die or anything like that. She was obviously weaker than usual, so Felix was being extra careful to ensure that she was alright.
After a few moments, Felix looked over with a concerned glance. "Err, d'you need me to heal you or anything?" Felix asked, keeping an eye on both Gabby and the wolf. He wasn't the best at healing magic, but at least he could probably help lessen the wounds a bit before they got back to the hospital wing and got her some real attention. It wasn't much, but it was the best that Felix could offer at the moment, aside from his support and his obviously so very important protection. He was a bit bummed that he hadn't gotten to bust in and actually save her, but really he was just more relieved to see that she was escaped and free that it didn't matter all too much who had been the one to get her out. Whoever it was clearly had stalked off into the night and just left her there, which Felix thought was a pretty dick move, but at least they had gotten rid of her attackers.

Are you okay? Stupid question, but Ari couldn't exactly tell Gabby that at the moment. Instead, she simply shook her head slightly to indicate that she most definitely was not okay. Honestly, it didn't seem like any of them were all that okay at the moment. The Felix kid was a bundle of stupidity and was trying to get Gabby to leave with him. Gabby was all messed up from having been kidnapped and probably would take days to recover. And Ari was injured all over the place. Not to mention, the night was almost over by then and the sun would be up soon, meaning that Ari would have to undergo another dangerous transformation. For once, she rather wished she could stay in her wolf form, since it would be a lot more excruciatingly painful and dangerous to have the same injuries in her human form.
Letting Gabby attempt to calm her down, Ari let her angered stance fall, relaxing slightly where she stood. She kept an eye trained on the boy, however, not at all trusting him. She really wouldn't have put it past the kid to attack her again as soon as Gabby was out of the way, since he seemed to believe that she was some sort of criminal or something. Idiot. Nudging at Gabby's arm a bit, Ari urged her to start heading back to the castle. That would be the safest bet for all of them. Gabby would be out of the way of the attackers and Ari could run over to the hospital wing to wait for Chris to take care of her. Obviously, with injuries that bad Chris couldn't very well turn her away and there was no chance in hell Ari was going back to Mungo's again. She hated that place.
Slowly getting herself into a position where she could walk, Ari started to lope after Gabby, following close behind and keeping a protective scowl on her face. Even limping and ragged looking, she was a pretty fearsome sight to be seen and any further attackers would have to think twice before they even dared to mess with them. Not to mention, Felix hadn't been hurt in the least yet and could probably help if anything else happened to them. At least, Ari really hoped that he could. As much as she hated to admit it, she wasn't exactly in the best of conditions and probably wouldn't be capable of holding off far too much more. Perhaps it was a good thing that the kid had shown up, even though so far he had done nothing more than make the situation worse for her.
Glancing up at the sky, Ari saw that it was about time for her to run off and change back into her other form. It had been a long night, heading out to start the search and then tracking Gabby down and dealing with everything going on. However, at the same time, Ari didn't want to leave Gabby's side. She didn't trust that Felix could take care of her on his own, but she also didn't want to change right there in the middle of the street. Briefly nudging up against Gabby's leg, Ari darted off back into the forest before she changed right then and there. Reaching the forest, she closed her eyes and waited for the change to take place once again. It took but a few moments and Ari was on the ground, wincing with the pain of both her injuries and her transformation. However, she didn't have the time to sit there and worry about the pain, she needed to be back over with Gabby.
Getting back up to her feet, rather shakily, Ari looked down to see what damage had been done. Her right shoulder had a huge gash going across her chest and her shirt was pretty much in tatters. Not to mention, she still had the shard of door stuck in her right side, which didn't help with her walking. It was a lot easier on four paws to walk, but she was managing. Walking back over to where Gabby and Felix were, Ari came up beside them with a rather grim smile. "Hey Gabs, you look like hell. Hardly the best way to impress your loverboy," Ari commented, giving her a wry grin. Probably not the best way of greeting her sister after a night like that, but Ari had never been known to have all that much tact anyways.

somewhere beyond my reach there's someone reaching back for me Honestly, Gabby wasn't sure she'd be able to make it back to the castle. Her ankle was sprained, her face was sore beyond belief and her body ached in a way that had her wishing she could just black out again; anything to forget the pain. Not only was she physically exhausted but she was mentally drained too. Over the last few days, which felt more like months, Gabby had eaten once and had only had one dirty cup of water. It was a miracle she was still able to walk let alone form a clear thought. Maybe she was a hell of a lot stronger than she'd ever thought she was. Or maybe not. With a tired groan, Gabby slumped to the side so that she was resting half of her weight against Felix, using him for support.
"My ankle.." she answered in response to Felix's question. At least if that was healed up some she might be able to walk on her own. Maybe. Confusion swept over her face as Ari brushed up against her leg and then darted off into the forest. It took Gabby a lot longer than it normally would have to realize why her sister had disappeared and Ari was already heading back over when it did finally click. Of course, the sun was coming up. Gabby glanced up at the sky for a moment and marveled at how strange it was to see the sun after going through days of constantly wondering if you'd ever see the sky again. When Ari commented that she looked like hell, Gabby felt tears well in her eyes. "You don't look so hot yourself.." she half smiled, happy to be able to joke with her sister again, who really did look like hell. There was a not so subtle shard of wood sticking out of Ari's side and all of a sudden Gabby felt like she might vomit. "You're hurt because of me.." Gabby frowned and slowly looked Ari over.
Although Gabby was immensely glad that Ari had rescued her, she'd rather have continued to suffer at the hands of her captors than have to see her sister injured so badly. "I don't think I can make it back to the castle." Gabby mumbled, the weight of the events over the past few days finally dragging her down. Sinking to the floor, Gabby pushed a hand into her dirty hair and slowly shook her head. "I'm sorry.." tears were falling down her cheeks again now, because she felt stupid and weak and her sister was seriously hurt because of her. It was clear that the kidnapping was beginning to take it's toll on the Ravenclaw.

The further they walked, the worse it looked. Gabby was slowly starting to put more weight on him, which he didn't mind, but it definitely showed that she wasn't feeling at all good. He had no problem with letting Gabby lean over on him and he did his best to help prop her up as they walked over back towards the castle, a very concerned look on his face. Maybe if he'd been just a few minutes earlier, none of this would have happened and Gabby would be just fine. Maybe. Glancing down at her ankle, he could see that it was already starting to swell pretty badly and would need attention soon if they were going to make it back to the castle. However, Felix wasn't sure how much help his healing spells might be in this instance. Nevertheless, he was going to try. Pulling his want out, Felix paused for a moment, wracking through spells in his brain to see which might be the most useful.
When the wolf started to move in close for a moment, Felix turned towards it with his wand, still not entirely trusting of the creature. He'd been trained to believe they were bad and a few short minutes with one definitely wasn't going to change that opinion. As the thing disappeared into the forest, Felix felt a lot more comfortable and it was obvious that he had settled down a bit when he started walking again. A few seconds later, Felix heard a rustling coming back out from the forest and he protectively moved so that he was in front of Gabby, quickly raising his wand just in case. However, when he saw that it was just Professor Davies, he slipped back to the other side of Gabby. Maybe Gabby wasn't kidding...and Ari actually had been the werewolf that had been traveling with them. Letting the two of them talk, Felix simply stood back and kept out of the way.
However, when Gabby started to fall down to the ground, Felix was right there to catch her. Kneeling down, Felix put his arms around her and hefted her up into his arms. "Gabs, don't worry, we'll get back," Felix promised, adjusting her slightly so that she was in a bit more comfortable of a position. "Alright than?" Felix asked, biting his lip for a moment before starting to walk again. It wasn't too far back to the castle, so he didn't think it would be too much of an issue to carry Gabby back to the Hospital Wing. Besides, it wasn't like Ari would be able to help, since she looked no better than Gabby did at the moment. Perhaps Felix would get to play the knight in shining armor like he'd wanted to after all.

For Ari, it was nice to know that even with the situation they were in, she could just relax and poke fun at Gabby. If anything, it eased the tension of the situation at least a little bit and brought a smile to both of their faces. At least, as much of a smile as they could muster through all the pain. "Don't be ridiculous. I'm sexier than ever. War torn is a good look on me," Ari countered with a bemused nod. She probably did look like hell at the moment, but she'd rather not get a good look at herself until she had been fixed up a bit. It might take a few days, but Ari was so used to that sort of thing that it hardly even phased her. She had come to the point where big injuries didn't even bother her anymore. But, if she stubbed her toe or got a paper cut, well, obviously that was like the end of the world.
The look Gabby had, however, definitely worried Ari a bit. Though she was used to that sort of thing, it was fairly obvious that Gabby was not and Ari wouldn't have been too surprised if the girl just kind of passed out. "Nah, Gabs it's cool. This would have happened with or without you getting kidnapped," Ari shrugged, as if it were no big deal. Which, in all honesty, Ari didn't think that it was. Sure, it kind of sucked worse than usual, but it wasn't like she couldn't get over it with a bit of magic to fix her up. She was being a lot calmer about the situation than she actually felt, which she hoped would put Gabby at least a little more at ease. Though, considering everything that she had been going through the past few days, Ari rather doubted that any of them would be truly at ease at the moment. It would take a good night's rest before any of them would relax, Ari felt.
When Gabby began to fall, Ari started forward with a quick jolt, stopping when she saw that Felix had taken care of it. She didn't like the kid all the much, but she was glad he was there. Honestly, she rather doubted that she could have gotten the two of them back to the castle without the boys help. Giving him a slight nod as they carried on, Ari pursed her lips for just a moment before they continued to walk. "Gabby, you should probably get up to the Hospital Wing as soon as we get back. Chris should be able to fix you up. Felix ah, you don't mind staying with her, right? I'm ah, probably going to head back to my room and fix all this," Ari nodded, sort of starting to plan things out in her head. She hated the thought of leaving Gabby, even if she would technically be safe there, but at the same time she didn't really want to be stuck in the Hospital Wing herself and with the injuries she had, she knew she probably would be.

somewhere beyond my reach there's someone reaching back for me Ari's attempt to reassure Gabby that she would have gotten some sort of injuries either way, didn't work. Gabby was convinced that If she'd been prowling around in the forbidden forest she might have ended up with a few scrapes and bumps. Nothing as serious as the wounds she had now. There were a confused jumble of emotions rolling around in Gabby's worn mind and it was hard to sort one from the other when she was feeling so drained. It was the reason why she wasn't showing all that much emotion either way; because she was just so tired. Relief washed over her when Felix effortlessly scooped her up into his arms and almost immediately her body sagged in his hold, trusting that he'd keep a firm hold on her.
Resting her head on his shoulder, Gabby stared blankly at his shirt. "Your hair.. It's different.." she mumbled hoarsely, her eyelids slowly drooping to a close. It was nice to be able to let herself slip away into her unconscious mind, knowing that she was safe in Felix's arms with her sister guarding at her side. It took a moment for Ari's words to register in her sluggish mind and a small noise of protest rose in the back of her throat. "you... go to the hospital too.." she murmured, half awake and half asleep. The last thing Gabby remembered before she finally gave in to sleep were the quiet murmurs being passed between her sister and Felix.

Obviously, Felix didn't mind staying with Gabby in the least. In fact, there was nothing that was going to keep him from staying up and keeping watch in the Hospital Wing all night for her. Even though he didn't get the feeling that Ari particularly liked him, he could tell that she at least appreciated what he was doing and he was glad about that. "Yeah, no problem. We'll get her to the Hospital Wing and look after her just fine," Felix promised, nodding his head slightly as he spoke. He had a firm hold on Gabby and he definitely didn't intend to let her go until he was completely positive that they were safe and sound. Which, considering how easy it had been to get to her in the first place, probably wouldn't be for a long time.
Of all the things that Gabby could have commented on, she said something about his hair and for just a moment, Felix laughed. "Yeah, yeah it is," he said, shaking his head slightly. He said nothing more than that though, since he could tell Gabby was about to drift off to sleep, which was probably for the best. Giving her a soft smile when she finally fell into a slumber, Felix hurried his pace so that they got back to the castle sooner. Following Ari a bit, Felix let her open the doors as he carried Gabby up the stairs to the castle. Since it was late, there wasn't anyone around to bother him, plus he was with a professor, which made it much easier to get around and not get in trouble. Heading up the flights of stairs, Felix burst into the Hospital Wing and started to get help for Gabby. A long night was finally coming to a close and Felix was just glad that they were all safe and generally alive.

Is it enough to love? Is it enough to breathe? Somebody rip my heart out and leave me here to bleed

The assurance Felix gave her when she asked if he would stay with Gabby at the Hospital Wing made Ari feel slightly more at ease with the situation. She knew that the boy wouldn't leave her sister, no matter what happened, so she felt at least comfortable enough to take a few hours to get herself fixed up the best that she could without getting herself sent to Mungo's or anything. Which, she knew Chris would do if she saw her like that. It was probably best that she get to her own room for a bit and see what minor things she could do to lessen the injuries and then go to Chris to get the major issues sorted out. It wasn't the smartest plan, perhaps, and she felt kind of bad when Gabby insisted that she go to the hospital too, but there was no way she was going through that again. She'd been to Mungo's enough lately and she definitely didn't need it again.
When Gabby fell to sleep, the conversation tapered off entirely and they trudged on in a weary silence. She and Felix were both drained and the night had taken an obvious toll on them. However, they were at least able to come to an understanding of how to proceed. Ari took the lead, pushing open doors and whatever else was in the way so that Felix could concentrate on not dropping Gabby. Entering into the castle, a sense of relief washed over her, since she knew that there was a lot less of a chance of them being attacked any further. She helped Felix up to the Hospital Wing, hanging back slightly as he went in with Gabby. When she saw that they were both in there safely and with the nurse on staff, Ari turned to leave before they could drag her in as well. Giving one last concerned look for Gabby, Ari dragged herself away and down to her room in the dungeons.
