Ari hadn't been back in town for more than a few hours and she was already getting up to things that she probably shouldn't have. By no means was she back to her usual self, but the time away had done good for her and she was at least ready to try to get things back to normal for herself. Of course, what better way to kick that off than with a supremely bad decision? Meeting up with her secret santa didn't seem all that dangerous, but the way things had gone down were admittedly a bit sketchy. However, Ari had never been known for her good decision making and had decided that it didn't really matter how weird it was. After all, she was already a werewolf and that in itself was dangerous enough to make her feel safe enough showing up to the club and meeting with, well, someone. Ari had always been reckless, but perhaps it was even worse now that she had started to come to terms with what she was. She could kill people effortlessly now, so what was a little added danger to life?
Back to her room in the Puddlemere flat, Ari had set about to get herself ready for her night out. She was instructed to show up looking sexy, which, if she said so herself, she always did. However, she was more than happy to get all dolled up for a night out at the club. If her secret santa ended up being someone weird, creepy or any other number of things, she could always just leave and find somewhere else to spend her night. She was kind of hoping that being back around that atmosphere would help her loosen up more and stop being so paranoid about being around people and such. At the very least, she was hopeful about the potential of the situation. Even if she didn't find it entirely helpful to be out, she at least could knock back a few drinks and forget about everything for awhile. Not the healthiest decision, sure, but Ari didn't care. She'd never cared before and now certainly wasn't the time to start.
Finished with her preparations with her outfit and such, Ari thought that she looked pretty damn good. A short, sleek, dark green dress that accentuated her figure and a pair of high heels seemed like a fair enough attire. It was all expensive, at any rate, which was basically a requirement if you wanted to get into Club Envy. Whoever she was meeting must have been someone important if they were able to get in there. Obviously that said something about them, so Ari couldn't be too worried about it all. Not that she was worried much anyways. The concept of worrying about herself was long gone, since she spent an inordinate amount of time worrying about everyone around her. Grabbing her purse off her bed, Ari left quietly from the flat, so as not to alert any of the others from the team, and quickly apparated away to the club.
It wasn't too late, so the club had yet to pick up with the evening, which probably was a good thing for Ari's first time out since being back to civilization. Walking up towards the front, Ari didn't bother to flash any sort of identification. They knew who she was and if they didn't, they'd learn soon enough. The bouncers up front, however, were quite aware of who she was and greeted her with a welcoming grin as she passed through the entrance. Getting in had never been an issue for Ari and she was more than happy to flaunt that fact. Not really sure where she was meant to meet up with...someone, Ari simply headed over towards the bar in the middle of the club. It was a large ring right in the center of the building and was a pretty open area, so she assumed that someone would be able to easily find her there. Giving the bartender a quick nod, he set about to get her drink ready for her. Ari was there often enough that she didn't need to ask for things, they just knew what to get her.

When there's something Evanna Dobrev wants, then there's little to nothing that can stop her from having it. Ninety-nine point nine percent of the time, one way or another, she gets it. It had been that way ever since she was a little girl and had her parents wrapped around her little fingers. Whatever she wanted, she had. It was rare that whatever she wanted ever eluded her, she just had a way of winning people around, of working her way into their trust. This "skill" was why she'd volunteered for the task of finding her team a new chaser. And not just any chaser, but a chaser who was already playing for a rival team, a chaser she knew pretty well from her Hogwarts days. Another reason why she was perfect for the job. The Tutshill Tornadoes had, had their eye on Ariella Davies for a long time. She was an excellent Chaser, one of the best. And The Tutshill Tornadoes only wanted the best. So when Ari had disappeared from Puddlemere, from the county even, Tutshill began to plan their move to get her.
Upon arriving at Club Envy, Eva headed straight towards the doors and stopped at the bouncers. "Lookin' hot." the brown eyed bouncer grinned down at Eva, who was dressed in a red figure hugging body con dress and black patent, sling-back heels. "Don't I always." she purred, giving the male a slow smile. "Ari Davies. Is she here yet?" When the other bouncer nodded, Eva smiled. "Brilliant. See you, boys." she gave them another slow smile that had them staring after her as she disappeared into the club. Men were so easy. Breezing into the club, Eva stopped at the entrance and surveyed the room, before lifting her arm to glance at her slim, and very expensive, watch. It was one minute before their arranged meeting time. Perfect.
Spotting Ari wasn't hard and for a moment, Eva was a little surprised that the woman had actually shown and dressed in something sexy no less. Getting her to come home, to meet her, a complete stranger as far as Ari knew, had been pleasantly easy. Eva shook her head, an almost fond smile falling across her lips. Ari always had been daring and reckless. It was one of the reasons why she liked her. Running her fingers through her long, styled hair, Eva sauntered over to where Ari was stood and slipped up besides her. "Merry christmas, Secret Santa." she said in a low, smooth voice and gave Ari a knowing, yet cheeky smile.

The longer that Ari sat there waiting, the more anxious she became. Not so much about the fact that she was going to be meeting up with some random stranger, but about the fact that she was around so many people. It wasn't anywhere near the full moon, but Ari couldn't help but worry that something might happen and that she might somehow end up hurting someone on accident. A pointless fear at the time, but one that plagued Ari's every thought since she had gone out and saved Gabby and one which had driven her to flee for solitude. As the seconds dragged into minutes, Ari's fingered drummed at the bar in front of her in anticipation. The sooner whoever her secret santa was showed up, the sooner she would be able to get out of there and back to the closed off room that she had been inhabiting for the last few days. She just had to make it through one short evening and that would be the end of that. Ari could see how it went and go from there.
Admittedly, the start of the night wasn't very promising. The fact that Ari was just sitting there and not out meeting people and working through the room was indication enough that she was still not back to her usual self. Waving the bartender over to bring her another drink, Ari was glad to see that it was very soon to the time that she was supposed to be meeting her secret santa. Waiting much longer would have just been a disaster, really, so it was quite fortunate that it was only a moment later that she felt someone slide into place next to her. Hearing a rather familiar voice, Ari's head swiveled towards it with a smile on her face. Eva Dobrev. There were a lot of things that Ari could say about the other woman and all of them were good. For whatever reason, Ari had always liked her. In fact, she liked her quite a bit more than she had ever really liked anyone before and it drove her crazy.
Ari's entire demeanor changed from one of concern to one of well, excitement. It had been quite awhile since she had last seen Eva, but that didn't change the fact that there was just something about her. "Mmm, merry Christmas to you too," she replied, still rather surprised to see her there next to her. Eva certainly hadn't come to mind when Ari went through the list of possible people that could be her secret santa, but she was definitely at the top of the list of people Ari would have been happy to have there. Bringing her drink up to her lips to take another sip, Ari found it rather impossible to contain the smile on her face. It was easily the best mood she'd been in for quite some time and that was hard to ignore. "I'm glad it's you," she commented with a soft smile, biting at her lower lip as she spoke. It wasn't very often that Ari Davies ever got legitimately nervous over something like this, but Eva had always had that power over the younger girl. As much as Ari loathed to admit it, perhaps she liked Eva more than she was willing to let on.

A smile that was both warm and charming pulled at Eva's full lips when Ari's face lit up with genuine happiness to see her. She had to admit, it was a little nice having someone happy to see you because they actually liked you for you and not because you were a famous pro quidditch player that they couldn't wait to get a signature from you, or a signed photograph. Brushing her hair back over her shoulder, Eva slid into the seat besides Ari and signalled the bartender. "That's good to know." she chuckled when Ari commented that she was glad her secret santa had been her. "To be honest, I didn't think you'd meet me." Eva cocked her head to the side and surveyed the other woman with a light twinkle in her eye. "But i see you're just as crazy as you used to be." she teased, shooting her a wink. "Which is lucky for me."
When the bartender came over, Eva ordered a cocktail for both herself and Ari. A drink they used to drink alot at their countless school parties. Eva hoped it would spark some nostalgia in Ariella and maybe help with her mission, by warming the younger woman to her a little. Eva wasn't sure, but she thought that getting Ari to leave Puddlemere and join Tutshill might take a little more work than she originally would have thought. And if she had to sweeten Ari up to get her to not only consider her offer, but to take it, then so be it. Eva was prepared to do whatever she had to. Taking a long sip from her drink, Eva turned in her seat, leaning in a little across the bar, giving Ari her full attention, and began to speak. "So, how are you?"

The fact that Eva was the one there was a bit intimidating for Ari. No matter how often she was around the other woman, it still seemed like she got all nervous that she was somehow going to screw up and disappoint her. For Ari, who rarely cared about other people in the slightest, that was never an easy feeling to deal with. Yet, there had never been a point where she wanted to distance herself from Eva in the least, another fact which scared Ari. In a time where she had been literally traveling across the world to get away from everyone she knew, here she was, back in town and it had all been at Eva's hand. A funny turn of events, that was for sure. Of all the people that could have gotten her out of her isolation, it was Eva. Hell, Ari was pretty sure that Eva could have gotten her home ages ago if she had wanted to.
Her head dropped for a moment, biting at her lip anxiously. "Well, uh, you know. I haven't changed a bit," Ari replied, though that was entirely a lie. Anyone who knew her could easily pick up on the fact that there was something different about her. Even if she was trying to fight that fact, she had changed and she didn't know if it was for the better. However, there was nothing that would change her tendency to drink. A lot. Since becoming a werewolf, her tolerance for alcohol had increased tenfold, which was a good thing, considering how much she drank. "This used to be our favorite. I miss those days," Ari commented with a smile as she brought the drink up to her lips. The fact that Eva even cared to remember little details like that about the time they spent together was sort of touching, but Ari doubted it meant much of anything. That wouldn't stop her from hoping, though.
As Eva leaned in closer towards her, another smile crossed Ari's face. Though, her question about how Ari had been caused her to falter slightly. She hadn't been all that great, but she didn't want to burden Eva with any of her whining. "Ah, I've been alright. I was in Africa," she commented with a shrug. That was safe enough of an answer, she figured. "What about you? I've not seen you in forever. Are you doing okay?" she asked, her eyes gleaming as she looked up at Eva. She could sit there and listen to Eva talk for ages if that was what the other girl wanted to do. Hell, Ari would pretty much do just about anything that the other girl asked of her. "So, I have to ask. Do you always ask random secret santas to meet you and clubs dressed sexy?" she asked, a smirk on her face as she spoke.

"No?" Eva murmered quietly, giving Ari a curious look when she said that she hadn't changed a bit. Immediately, Eva knew that the other woman was lying. There was something off about Ariella Davies. Eva thought she had noticed that something wasn't quite right with the younger woman when she'd first approached her, but they hadn't seen each other in so long that she'd simply dismissed it. After all, people did change. Maybe Ari had changed. But Eva had done enough research on the other Quidditch player to know that she hadn't changed much since her high school days. It used to be that Ari was constantly in magazines or on the web with some new scandal or story about her wild antics. But the buzz around the Puddlemere chaser had died off when she'd left the country. This, plus the fact that at the moment, she seemed a lot more resereved than usual, was enough for Eva to know that Ariella Davies wasn't quiet herself. The question she really wanted to know though, was why? What had happened to Ari to have her flee half way across the world? The need to know was almost as powerful as her desire to have the younger woman join her team.
Watching Ari with a keen gaze made it impossible to miss the slight falter she made before going on to answer Eva's question. It was just another sign that something wasn't right. But Eva could hardly pry, at least, not just yet. "Africa?" she repeated with faux surprise. Eva knew that Ari had been in Africa, she'd found out when she'd become her secret santa. "It has been a long time, hasn't it?" Eva commented with a half smile and then shrugged her slim shoulders. "I've been busy with my career, very busy. But I guess you know what that can be like." she gave Ari a knowing grin, before taking another sip from her drink.
It was Eva's turn to falter slightly when Ari asked about the secret santa situation, though she'd known that the topic would be brought up. Eva gave Ari a smile that was a tiny bit sheepish and chuckled. "I have a confession to make." she said, biting back on her lower lip. "I have this friend at the ministry.. He arranged for your secret santa to be me." she paused, letting the revelation hang in the air for a moment. Of course Ari was going to want to know just why Eva had done this, so she went on to explain, deciding that it was better to just give it to Ari straight. "We want you to join The Tornadoes, Ari"

The look that Eva gave her when she claimed that she hadn't changed a bit made Ari shift uncomfortably once again. Obviously Eva believed her just about as much as she believed herself. Perhaps on the surface she was mostly the same, but the changes that she had undergone were starting to seriously effect even the little things in her life. Being a werewolf just made you different and that was something that she was still learning to adjust to, even if it had been going on a year since she had been attacked. "Well, maybe I got a bit sexier, but that was just to be expected, right?" she replied with a shrug and a smirk. Not letting Eva pick up on any sign of internal distress was something Ari wasn't sure that she could manage, but she was certainly going to try. She didn't want the other girl to think anything had changed about her if she could help it.
Glad for the change in subject, Ari nodded eagerly in response. "Yeah, I was there for a few weeks," she answered. She was surprised to hear the note of shock in Eva's voice, since she had thought that the press would have picked up on her absence and delved into the matter enough to find at least her location. However, it didn't really matter overall and so she dismissed it with no further comments. "Yeah, of course. I got to catch part of your last game. You ah, you played really well," she nodded, looking at Eva with another smile. Even if their teams were rivals, Ari still admired the way that Eva played. She was a few years younger, had a bit less experience and arguably wasn't as good as Eva, but Ari liked to think that she could hold her own against the elder chaser. Certainly she had proven her worth time and again in their matches.
Her head tilted to the side with a questioning glance when Eva said that she had a confession. Ari couldn't think of anything in particular that the other girl might have to confess about, so she was slightly confused until Eva started to explain. Ari's eyes lit up at the first part of her confession, quite enthused to hear that Eva had set this up on purpose. However, her elated look instantly turned to a much less pleased one when Eva brought up the Tornadoes. Ari had been with Puddlemere since she started and though she knew that people transferred teams all the time, she couldn't imagine leaving her family behind. They weren't just a team, they lived together, practiced together, did everything together. "Eva...I don't think that's going to happen. I mean, I'd love to spend more time with you, really I would, but I can't leave the Puds," Ari trailed off, feeling kind of awful about it. She honestly didn't think there would ever be a time that she said no to Eva, but apparently there was.

Eva had hoped Ari might let slip some information as to why she'd been in Africa, but It didn't seem that Ari was willing to fill Eva in on anything more than a simple statement that she'd been in the other country for a few weeks. Oh well. Eva was sure she'd find out eventually, if she really wanted to. The strange thing was, she really did want to know. Nothing fazed the Ari she'd known back in school, so what had rocked Ari's world so hard that she'd left? Eva was positive there was something up. But they'd only just met up again and trying to pry anything out of the other girl wouldn't be fair. Eva did actually like Ari and the last thing she wanted was to upset or annoy her.
A smile lit up Eva's face when Ari complimented her on her playing during her last match. Eva loved compliments, especially ones that were for her quidditch skills. "Thank you." she said, still grinning. But when she explained to Ari just why she'd asked her to meet her here tonight, and Ari declined her offer, her smile faded. She couldn't say that she was surprised to have Ari say no but she'd still had a little hope that the younger girl would have said yes. "Hmm." she gave Ari a thoughtful look, her brain already working up a new plan, and took a slow sip from her drink. "Well, that's disappointing." she pouted, turning her gaze to the other side of the club where she could see a celeb couple sat closely, whispering.
"Let's dance." Eva said suddenly and hopped up from her seat. Was she letting go the fact that Ari had said no to joining the Tornadoes? Hell no. Eva didn't take rejection well, she was used to getting what she wanted and what she wanted was Ariella Davies. Her rejection just meant that Eva had to switch up her game and instead of playing clean, she'd play dirty. An innocent, yet seductive smile worked it's away across her lips as she held out her hand for Ari to take. Playing dirty would be much more fun anyway, it was what she was good at; manipulating others, it was one of the reasons she'd been placed in Slytherin after all. Sure she liked Ari, but she cared about being number 1 more. And for The Tornadoes to be number one, they had to have the best.

Despite initially having been a bit worried about going out, Ari was starting to settle down into a more calmed version of herself. Perhaps it was from being immersed in the club for some time, but perhaps it was simply because of Eva's presence. She had become significantly less nervous about werewolfing out on anyone once Eva had arrived, though her presence did spark a different sort of nerves. Ari herself, however, didn't recognize that. She'd never really liked anyone the way she did Eva, it just wasn't something Ariella Davies did, so when struck with feelings like this, she simply attributed them to something else. Namely, to the fact that she was worried about eating someone or something equally unfortunate. Well, depending on who she happened to eat, really. She could name a few people that could benefit from being eaten.
When Eva's smile fell at her refusal, Ari felt like she had personally failed the other woman and she didn't like it one bit. She couldn't very well just pick up and leave her team at the drop of a hat, however. They meant more to her than just a job and it wouldn't be easy to make any sort of switch. However, she couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness when Eva said that it was disappointing. Ari had disappointed enough people in her life and the last thing she wanted was to add another person to that list, especially not Eva. "I'm sorry, Evie. I really wish I could say yes," she mumbled, rather dejectedly. She didn't like saying no to Eva, it made her feel kind of awful. She didn't have much of a choice at that point, however, especially with everything else going on with her. At the moment, she really didn't think another team would be willing to take a risk with her current volatile state and if she were to join another team, they inevitably would have to know.
Fortunately for Ari, that whole conversation was soon dropped when Eva suggested that they get up and go dance. Hopefully that meant that Eva had accepted it and they could go be normal or something. Yeah, right. Even though being out on the dance floor would draw her in closer to the crowds of people, Ari couldn't resist the look on Eva's face. Sliding out of the chair, Ari set her drink down and took Eva's hand with a glimmer of excitement dancing in her eyes. "I would love to," she agreed with a slight nod before they headed over to the dance floor. It was a familiar scene, but it still held the same amount of fascination for Ari as it did the first time she had been in a similar situation with Eva. "Damn, it's been almost a year since I was last here," Ari said, trailing off slightly as she spoke. It really had been almost that long since Ari had gone out proper to a club and she had to admit, it felt good to be back.

Eva didn't fail to miss the obvious dejection in Ari's voice as she apologized. It made her smile, because it meant that Ari really didn't want to let Eva down and if Ari still looked up to her the way she had in high school, well, it would make her plan much easier to put into motion. It was always much easier to manipulate someone who already held you in high regard. Taking Ari by the hand, Eva turned and led the other down onto the dance floor, where a number of people were already dancing to the music.
"A year?" Eva shook her head, no clubbing for a year? There was definitely something going with Ari. "You need to come hang out with me more." Eva said and lifted a hand to idly sweep a few strands of Ari's hair back over her shoulder. "We'd have fun together. just like we used to." a smile fell across her lips and her eyes never left Ari's as her fingers tips dropped from her hair, to her shoulder, glided down the skin of her arm to link themselves through the other girls fingers.
One song slipped into another and Eva began to dance, still keeping her fingers tied with Ari's. Her hips twisted and turned and she used their joined hands to ease the other girl into a simple dance that matched her rythym. It was good to see an old friend again and although her intentions may not have been pure, at least, not anymore, Eva was having fun. She'd always been paticularly fond of Ari, more so than any of the younger students who had followed her around like little ducklings. Maybe because Ari hadn't been much of a follower, she'd had her own mind, did her own thing. She didn't suck up like a lot of the other morons did. She was her own person. And that was what Eva liked.

Even if the gesture was probably meant as just that, a gesture, Ari couldn't help but feel particularly special when Eva took her hand. Ari couldn't tell you what it was, but something about Eva just made her special and when she paid you any little bit of attention, it meant something. She got plenty of attention from plenty of people, but it never meant as much as when it was coming from Eva. Though, there was no way she would ever voice that opinion where anyone was listening, since that just seemed silly. Ari Davies wasn't the type of person that had special anything. People were people to her, unless they were her teammates and that was that. She wasn't supposed to feel any strong attraction towards any one person, since that could only end terribly overall.
When Eva said it like that, it kind of hit Ari just how weird she had been the last few months. She'd thought that she had been managing to hide it well enough, but obviously she had been failing rather miserably at that. However, the prospect of spending more time with Eva brightened her disposition incredibly. Her words caught in her throat as Eva brought a hand up to her face, causing the girl to pause entirely and just look up at Eva with twinkling eyes. She both loved and hated the way that Eva made her feel, but either way she couldn't help but want to spend more and more time around her. "That ah, yeah, that would be really nice," Ari managed to spit out once her hand was secured in Eva's grasp. She probably seemed like a complete lovestruck teen at the moment, but she'd always been like that around Eva and no amount of time or distance had seemed to change that.
Letting Eva take the lead, Ari slid into an easy dance motion, letting herself flow along with the music like old times. It was easy to ease back into it, which was a welcome discovery on Ari's part. "So, the Tornadoes. Why me?" she asked, as one song started to change to another. Even if she didn't think she would ever be able to accept the deal, it wouldn't hurt to at least know a bit more about it. Besides, what did she know, after all. Perhaps the change would be exactly what she needed to get back to her usual self. A new team, a new life, a new Ari. Though, her consideration of the possibility was perhaps largely in part due to the time she was currently spending with Eva and the knowledge that joining the Tornadoes would bring a whole lot more of this. That couldn't possibly have been a bad thing.

Eva had to admit that it was good to see Ari come out of the shell she'd been hiding in since they'd met up. The more they danced, the more the younger girl seemed to loosen up, allowing Eva to catch glimpses of the Ari Davies she once knew so well. There was one thing that hadn't changed though and that was Ari's obvious adoration of her. This made Eva smile, not only because she loved attention but because she had always had a bit of a soft spot for Ari. And if she was being honest, having the other quidditch player fancy her wasn't all that bad. Especially not in this case. If anything it worked in her favor. Greatly.
"Because you're a brilliant chaser." She answered, completely honest. There was no need to suck up or tell lies in an attempt to charm Ari into joining them, not when it came down to the other girls skill. Eva genuinely thought Ari was a good player. "A little sloppy," she teased with a playful smile, still dancing. "But brilliant. And we want brilliant." she finished, shaking her head to the music so that her hair bounced around her shoulders. She smiled and then using the hold she had on Ari's hand, pulled the other girl closer so that their bodies were inches apart, and leaned in to whisper in her ear. "I'm going to hit the ladies room. Wait for me by the bar?" it was more of a shout than a whisper, because she needed to be heard over the loud music. Stepping back, Eva winked at Ari and then turned to disappear into the crowd, heading for the womens toilets.

Compliments went a long way with Ari most of the time, especially since she tended to think as highly of herself as she did. Yeah, she definitely agreed that she was a brilliant chaser and it made perfect sense that any team would want her to transfer over. Sloppy, however, wasn't a descriptor that went over particularly well with her. Even if Eva said it with a smile, Ari frowned slightly at that addition. "I'm not sloppy. Brilliant, yes, but definitely not sloppy," she retorted with a bit of a huff. Given the fact that she was still fairly young and had plenty to learn about the sport, she definitely had room for improvement, but that wasn't something you'd ever hear her saying out loud. In Ari's mind, admitting you were anything less than the best made you weak and incompetent, two words she would never want associated with herself.
Breathing in sharply when Eva pulled her in closer, Ari nodded that she'd heard the other woman's request and parted ways with Eva. Now that the other woman wasn't right there next to her, it gave Ari a moment to gather her thoughts about her. It was quite a bit to contend with and she had to admit that she had some conflicting feelings about what she was going to do. The obvious choice would be to forget about the offer Eva was proposing and just carry on with Puddlemere. She loved her teammates, they worked well together and she was generally glad to be a part of it all. However, since everything that had happened, she almost felt like she was out of place now and that perhaps a new beginning could help ease her back into her normal life again. Of course, there were plenty of other factors to consider as well and by the time she had gotten off the dancefloor, her head was spinning with all her thoughts.
Sliding back up onto one of the seats at the bar, Ari waved over the bartender to order herself another, significantly stronger, drink. Decisions had never been something that she was all too good at and making sound, intelligent decisions was something she was much, much worse at. Knowing that this whole situation was something that would affect basically her entire life, Ari wasn't taking it lightly and she kind of wished there was someone that she could vent to about it and maybe get some sort of advice from. However, since her attack she had kind of pushed all of those people away in her life, preferring to just handle everything on her own. Sighing irately, Ari took a long swig from her drink and glanced back up in search of Eva's return.
