Time off in the middle of Teddy's day wasn't something that he came across all too often, but when he was allowed to take a lunch break for more than just a few minutes, he loved it. Working at the Ministry, while sometimes slightly tedious, left him able to quickly come back and forth between Diagon Alley on his breaks. There was always something of interest amongst the different shops and stalls. Teddy wasn't much of a shopper, but he was never going to turn down the opportunity to walk around the nearby market and find the odd, but always delicious, foods that people were hawking. Escaping from his job in the Department of Mysteries for his break, Teddy found himself wandering over towards the market, an action which he didn't make moves to correct. It was his lunch break, after all.
There were quite a few different options as to what he wanted to eat and Teddy was more than willing to at least try them all. Buying small portions of each of them was more than enough to satisfy any strong hunger pains that he was having. However, what with all the actual food, Teddy also wanted to finish it off with some form of snack. He had a feeling that Victoire would be rather less than pleased with his choice of lunch menus, but what she didn't know wouldn't hurt...him. Picking his way through the crowds of people, Teddy started over towards the ice cream shop. Ice cream was something of a guilty pleasure for Teddy, so he tried to ensure that he only went to Florean's on the odd occasion, making it far more special in the long run.
When he reached the door to the parlour, Teddy pushed it open with a child-like enthusiasm. There wasn't much of a line, since it was the middle of the day and most people were either working or in school, so Teddy was able to walk right up to the counter to place his order. After getting himself a small bowl of mint ice cream,Teddy took it off towards a corner of the store to settle in and eat it. It wasn't a very exciting lunch break, but Teddy didn't mind. There was enough excitement surrounding the Department of Mysteries on most occasions that sometimes a quiet lunch was preferable to any big fanfare. He wouldn't have been opposed to at least a bit of conversation, though, and he rather regretted not inviting one of his co-workers to go out with him.

Today during her lunch break Victoire decided to go to Diagon Alley. It was not something she really did, especially when she did not have anyone to go with. But the moment she apparated on over she noticed how busy it was which did not really surprise her. But what did was when she walked past Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour was do a double take was that someone looked just like her boyfriend. But the moment she did that double take, she realized it was him.
A faint smile appeared as she entered the parlour, silently as possible. Tilting her head slightly to the left she snuck up behind Teddy and tapped him on the shoulder before sitting down next to him. Giggling softly, like a little girl, Victoire asked, I hope you ate something healthy for lunch Teddy. Tucking a stray strand of blonde hair behind her ear, she got up silently and walked over to the counter and ordered a small bowl of strawberry cheesecake ice cream. The moment her order came out she returned to her spot next to Teddy. So, what are you are up to? Lunch break?

As he took a bite from the ice cream, Teddy had to say that he was quite pleased with his decision to eat there for lunch. It was soothing and certainly would rejuvinate himself for the rest of his work day. Working in the Department of Mysteries was always an adventure. Some days, there really wasn't anything to do and they spent their time goofing around in the break room, but other days they were put to the grind and were lucky if they got to breathe. It was all just a matter of which rooms they were assigned to and which projects the higher officials thought were most important for the day. Despite the unsettled feel of the job, Teddy wouldn't have traded it for anything. It was exciting not to know what would come of his day and working there gave him a lot of insight into things that could be put to better use with the Marauders.
Leaning in to take another bite, Teddy was instead surprised by a light tap on his shoulder, which caused him to turn his head quickly to see someone sitting in the chair at his side. It took him a moment to process it, but as he came to the realization that Victoire was now right there in front of him, a wide smile appeared on his features. "Victoire! What are you doing out here in Diagon?" he asked, his excitement about this quite evident. His face dropped, however, when she inquired about his "healthy" lunch. "Oh, sure. Mint is healthy, isn't it?" he asked with an innocent smile.
As she left for a moment to grab her own bowl of ice cream, Teddy decided that if Victoire was eating ice cream for lunch than it was entirely alright for him to do the same. Shifting eagerly in his seat, Teddy was more than ready for her to return so that he could spend as much time as possible with her before he had to go back to work. "Yeah, I managed to finish off what I was working on just before breaktime, so they gave me the time to come to Diagon and get lunch," he nodded as she sat back down. "I did eat a little bit of other stuff, but I couldn't pass by the ice cream," he added, almost as if he were speaking in his own defense.

smiling broadly victoire gave a rather cheery response, just on my break. i decided to get out of hogsmeade. laughing softly tori shook her head before commenting, oh alright, fine, as long as you ate something else i can't exactly complain. tori had always been a maternal, caring woman, but it came out more when it came to the ones she loved. the moment she returned a rather child-like, gleeful smile graced the blonde's face. despite being a sweets shop owner, the veela girl had not been able to eat strawberry cheesecake in the longest time which was something she adored.
taking a rather large scoop of the sweet and allowing it to melt in her mouth a quiet giggle escaped and the moment it was all gone tori remarked, yum! i haven't had ice cream in the longest time. biting her lower lip victoire became more aware of how child-like she must of seemed and almost instantly a faint blush appeared on her cheeks but soon disappeared as she commented, that's good, so why aren't you out with anyone else? not that victoire was not happy to be with her boyfriend, it just made her wonder why he was not out with fellow co-workers. had she had the chance, she would of been with one of her workers, but no one really wanted to leave for diagon alley so she went alone.

As much as Teddy adored Hogsmeade and being there in the town, he couldn't blame Victoire for wanting to get away for awhile. Working in the same place, every day and for long hours, would spur him to want to explore and be elsewhere as well. "Good, good. I've been trying to keep my diet balanced, but you know how little time I get sometimes," he replied with a small shrug. Though, that wasn't entirely true at the moment. He'd had plenty of time to find himself a well-balanced and actually healthy meal that didn't include just walking around the market and sampling all the fried foods. However, there were some things that Victoire could live without knowing and he didn't want her to worry about him any more than she already did.
Leaning forward, Teddy took another small bite from his cup, drawing it out as long as it could. He knew that once he had finished eating, he would likely have to return to his job and he would have preferred to spend every moment with Victoire. Even in the moments where she was giggling like a child, he was enamoured with her in every way. "I can't say I've been here recently either. It's the best ice cream around," he agreed, smiling over at Victoire and her antics. He had loved her from the moment he met her and nothing had changed that over the years, aside from perhaps just a strengthening of his feelings. "Ah, I'm the only one that managed to finish before break, so everyone else had to order in and keep working. It's been a weird day down there," he answered, shaking his head. He hated that he had to keep everything he did secret from Victoire, since he really didn't care for secrecy from the one person that he trusted completely.

[/b] even though victoire was unaware of the job and things teddy did, she could only assume that his job was stressful and if the one thing she could do to relieve some of that tension was by hanging out with him for only a few minutes so be it. taking another scoop of her ice cream victoire curiously asked, how long do you think you’ll have? though she wanted to stay with teddy the rest of the day, they both had work to do, unfortunately. as she placed the spoon full of ice cream in her mouth, she began to think of the various things she would have to do the moment she returned, but as soon as work entered her mind she pushed it away. work was going to be the last thing on her mind, it was her break and she was with her boyfriend, as luck would have it. Teddy was quite fine with having Victoire stay there with him over his break, as long as he wasn't inconveniencing her. He was sure that she would mention it if she had to leave, though, so Teddy wasn't worried about that. Instead, he was just glad that he got to spend the afternoon with his girlfriend for awhile before he had to head back to the grind of working. He adored his job, but it was stressful sometimes and it was nice to have a few moments where he could just take a break and chill out. "That would be great. As always, your company is welcomed," he commented with a grin on his lips. There were few things that Teddy loved more than his girlfriend, so having the opportunity to spend even just a few minutes with her wasn't an opportunity that he intended to waste in any way.
Dipping his spoon into the ice cream again, Teddy pulled out another large scoop of it. "I have about another half hour, if I'm not mistaken," he answered, before eating the next bite of ice cream. It wasn't a very long time, but it was better than nothing, easily. "How about yourself? Do you have a long lunch break today?" he asked, giving her a questioning gaze as he spoke. By now, he probably should have known her schedule better, but Teddy could hardly keep track of his own schedule sometimes. He got so caught up with his job and his work with the Marauders that little things like that often slipped his attentions. He liked to think that he wasn't his fault at all, since everything he was doing was important.
