Pensri Gwenddydd Xiao, a lady who often found trouble, quite easily, and often got to the bottom of things found herself in more trouble. To ease off the stress, Penny decided to go get ice cream. Something sweet and sugary was often eaten and enjoyed during moments of stress which was why she found herself apparating over to Diagon Alley for a treat. A treat she required due to the never-ending amount of curse words thrown her way by a certain pig-headed, arrogant editor who most likely was going through a mid-life crisis and had decided to throw all of his anger at her.
Entering into Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, a soft sigh of relief escape Penny. No one she knew was about and that was exactly how she wanted it. Actually, not really. She wanted at least one person who she knew she could rant to, but no one was around. Rather than whining and groaning about the lack of people around her, she instead went over to the counter and ordered a rather large size of banana ice cream with chocolate and walnuts, it reminded her of her favorite Muggle Ice Cream brand, Ben & Jerry. After receiving her rather large serving, Penny walked over to an empty table, meant for two, and began enjoying her treat. As she continued to enjoy her treat, she found her stress die down slowly.

Practice with the Puds was a brutal experience that often left Colby battered and bruised all over, but it was the best part of his day. No amount of bludgers to the side could make Colby love what he did any less. Quidditch had always been the one thing he was truly passionate about and being able to spend his life doing what he loved was absolutely amazing for the boy. Of course, even Colby reached his limit sometimes and by the time the team landed back onto the ground, he was panting from the effort he had put forth. As far as Colby was concerned, that was the only way you could successfully end a practice, since if you didn't put your whole self into it than you obviously weren't doing it right. Hefting his broom up onto his shoulder, Colby followed the other guys on the team back to the locker room to put their equipment away and shower off before they left. Obviously they didn't want to head home smelling like they did now.
Once he had finished showering off, Colby threw on a new set of clothes and put on some deodorant as well. With practice over and nothing else of importance to do for his job, Colby was freed up for the rest of the afternoon. He was going to hang out with the team, but they had scattered soon after practice to take care of errands or go home to loved ones. Colby, being as single as he was, didn't really have anyone that he had to go meet up with, so he decided that he may as well just go have some Colby time. Though, to be honest, Colby wasn't even sure what Colby time would entail. Perhaps he could scrounge up a movie and spend the afternoon eating pizza and watching some action flick in his room. Not the most exciting thing ever, but it was something, at least. Maybe he'd pop in and check up on some of his siblings or something as well. There was always someone he could bother, since he had so many of them.
With his plans set, Colby figured one last stop in before he was set to head home. After a long, hot, practice, he figured that he was due for a nice bowl of ice cream over at Florean's. When he arrived at the small cafe, he was a bit bummed to see that it was a rather busy day. It took quite some time to get through the line and by the time he was out and with ice cream in his hand, there weren't many open seats. He did, however, spot one table that had an open seat next to a girl that seemed at least a bit familiar. Walking over, Colby stopped just next to the table with a friendly smile. "Ah, excuse me, but would you mind if I sit here with you?" he asked, rather hoping that she didn't mind and that she wasn't reserving the spot for a boyfriend or something.

As Penny began enjoying her ice cream she noticed how busy the ice cream parlour got very quickly. But instead of moving which seemed like the logical choice considering how her spot was meant for two, Pensri continued to enjoy her treat, that was until she heard an unfamiliar male voice. Lifting her head Penny blinked a few times absorbing his face in. A stranger, or was he? But rather than thinking about it for long Pensri just nodded instead of speaking, which was currently impossible considering how she had a spoon in her mouth. Actually, no. It was possible, it just would have been extremely rude and being raised to be a polite girl, she just silently agreed however the moment the ice cream melted in her mouth she said with a smile, Pensri Xiao, most people call me Penny though.
Taking another big scoop of her ice cream she curiously asked, So, any particular reason for your treat? Stress? Job well done? Some people considered Pensri slightly nosy, but that was the journalist in her. She could not help it. It was her job to ask questions and write the truth, but often that characteristic, the curiousness, often spilled into her social life. Most people did not mind it, but some did and it drove them away but Penny always never minded. Her friends who adored her, despite her curiosity always stuck around.

Feeling a quick sense of relief when the girl nodded her approval at his request, Colby set his ice cream down on his side of the table and pulled out the chair to sit in. "Thanks, thanks. I was afraid I wasn't going to find a place to sit down," he chuckled, giving her an appreciative smile. Technically, Colby could have had a rather easy time of finding a seat. Since he was a celebrity and undoubtedly the majority of the people in the store knew who he was, it would have been quite simple for him to just ask someone to move and they would have agreed without much complaint at all. He could sign a few autographs, wink at a few of the ladies and that would be that. However, that wasn't Colby. He didn't like to abuse his status as a celebrity and if he could help it, he generally tried to stay as low key as possible and the less people that recognized him, the better.
As he settled down into his seat and looked back up at the girl, Colby couldn't place exactly where it was that he recognized her from. Perhaps he had met her in passing at some Quidditch event and just remember her face, but he felt like it was something more. It wasn't until she mentioned her name that it clicked. "Oh, Penny, hey. Ah, we met the other day in the chat room. I'm Colby, Colby Munroe," he said with a rather excited look. He'd quite liked her from what little they had spoken, so it was fun to actually meet her in person. "It's nice to actually see you," he added, extending his hand across the table for a proper greeting. Old-fashioned, perhaps, but Colby was a respectful guy whenever he could be.
Colby had a rather sheepish grin on his face when she asked about why he was there for the ice cream, since really there was no decent reason for it. In fact, it was kind of a lame excuse. "Ah, nope. Figured I'd stop in after practice before I headed back home to watch movies by myself," he admitted with a shrug. Some people seemed to think that Quidditch stars had the most interesting lives, but that wasn't really the case. At least, not in Colby's situation anyways. Certainly some of his mates had crazy lives to deal with and they lived up to the expectations of them. "What about you? Any reason in particular for a visit to Florean's?" He hoped that it was okay he returned the question and that she wouldn't see him as being overly inquisitive or anything.

An eyebrow went up as he stated his name while she shook Colby's hand, quite firmly for a girl of only 5'3". Tilting her head slightly to the left she curiously asked, But being a famous Qudditch player, shouldn't you be able to find a spot instantly?
Swallowing another rather large amount of the delicious icy sweetness, Penny laughed softly as she heard Colby's explanation, Haha, well that sounds rather boring. I thought all of you Qudditch kids were hard-core partiers. It was obvious that her tone was teasing and joking, but soon her tone turned into one of annoyance, Stupid Editor. He's frigging PMSing and decides to take it out on his writers by screeching his head off. I can promise you this, he is going through some mid-life crisis and has decided to take it out on his workers which I will tell you, is not nice.
But as soon as the negative tone became obvious, Pensri said, Sorry, I'm normally not this irritable. You can thank my boss. As she took in Colby, fully, she curiously asked, You're bruised all over… Bludgers? Shouldn't you go see a Healer for all of those bruises or have you already gotten used to the pain, being a Pro and all? As soon as she realized how nosy her question seemed, she bit her lower lip and quickly apologized, I'm so sorry! A lot of people tell me I need to work on my inquisitive personality. It has most definitely gotten me into a lot of trouble.
Taking another spoonful into her mouth, Penny sighed contently as the ice cream began to melt. With a rather large grin on her face, she said, Ice cream… Its the best thing in existence. Don't you agree? The best stress reliever, the best heart break healer, the best…well…anything!

Her question caused Colby to shift uncomfortably, since that was something he found difficult to explain to a lot of people. A lot of people didn't understand that sometimes being famous wasn't the easiest of things to deal with and that there were times when he quite wished that he could blend in and not have anyone recognize him. He wasn't the sort of guy that thrived on the attention and the perks of the job. "Ah, you know, probably? But uh, this is easier. I wouldn't want to cause anyone else to lose their seat anyways," he shrugged. Colby hoped that Penny would see where he was coming from with that, unlike the majority of people he ended up around. Though, perhaps his troubles with finding people that understood stemmed from the fact that he had Ari Davies on his team with him.
Colby's head drooped slightly as he chuckled, quite embarrassed for himself. He was young, famous and wealthy, of course he should be out there living it up and having a good time with his life. "Yeah, most of them do. I guess I'm kind of a bad example," he shrugged. He partied sometimes, sure, but he wasn't as into it as many of them were. It had just never been his scene, really. Taking another bite from his bowl, he looked up at Penny to listen to her as she spoke about her apparently less than friendly boss. "Can't imagine that dealing with a boss would be all that fun. Ah, well, I'm sure whatever it is will blow over soon enough and he'll get over it," Colby nodded. He was quite optimistic about things most of the time and usually tried to see the good side of things more than the bad.
Lightly waving one of his hands, he signaled that he wasn't bothered by her tone. If he was under stress from work, he probably wouldn't have been in all that great of a mood himself. "Bludgers and people," he nodded, laughing a bit. Sometimes he felt like he got hit more by his teammates than by the bludgers themselves. "Hey, no, I love questions. Don't mind it at all, really. But uh, I probably should get them looked at by a healer just in case. Maybe later or tomorrow or something," he answered. He was used to the pain by then, which probably meant even more that he should be getting his bruises looked at, just in case they were actually worthy of attention. By now he was so immune to the majority of it that he wouldn't even know if he were slowly bleeding to death or something silly like that.
Perhaps ice cream wasn't the best thing in existence, but he wouldn't deny that it was up there. His mother had always used to bring them for ice cream after any doctor's appointment or anything like that before she had left. "It's pretty amazing, yeah. I come here way more often than I should," he chuckled. Certainly, with a profession in athletics, he might have wanted to watch what he ate, but he never really did. He watched it enough to make sure that he didn't overindulge and get fat or something, but that was about the limit of his attention given to his diet.

Laughing softly Penny tilted her head as she commented, Haha well that's mighty polite of you. More laughter escaped as she replied, Actually, I think it seems sort of dull. The constant partying, the flashy life. It seems…over-rated. It was the truth. Pensri was not really into the flashy life and considering how not many people knew who she was, it made her grateful. Of course the few moments when someone knew who she was nice, pleasant really, but to have that sort of life constantly would not only be chaos but hell.
Taking another bite of her ice cream, the scowl she had on her face disappeared and instead was replaced with a joyful grin, Meh, doubt it. The idiotic git always gets like this when he feels stress or pressure from his wife or kids, but the day is getting much better thanks to the ice cream and meeting you in person is making my day much better. However the moment he said tomorrow a look of worry took over Penny's gleeful expression, That's not exactly a good thing to be immune to the pain.
As she continued to munch away on her delicious, sweet treat Penny was extremely grateful that she had a rather high metabolism, if she did not have that she was certain she'd be over-weight. Sighing contently she continued to enjoy her treat before saying, Haha I come here way to often myself, but lucky me I have a rather high metabolism. Actually, that and I exercise. Though normally someone who exercised very little, her work helped her stay rather fit as well with all the running around and chasing people about.

The fact that she considered it polite, as opposed to lame, was quite nice and Colby gave her an appreciative nod. This was already going much better than the majority of his conversations tended to. "Why, thank you. I suppose I do my best to be polite," he chuckled, though it was quite true. He was a fairly decent guy and when he could make things easier on other people, he did so. It was just how he was raised to be and he had no reason to act otherwise. "Yeah, it really isn't all that great. I mean, sometimes it's nice to just sit around and not have people attack you when you're out to eat," he agreed. The attention wasn't something that Colby had been looking for when he had chosen to become a Quidditch player and it had been a decision based simply on his love for the game.
The fact that Penny's less than joyful expression seemed to quickly change certainly made Colby feel better about having interrupted her. Even if they didn't know each other well, he liked that he had been able to get a smile back on her face. "Ah, yeah, well, I guess home troubles are an understandable source of stress," he nodded. His parents had gone through a rough time and gotten divorced when he was quite young, so he knew things could be difficult when you had marital issues. "But, hey, I'm glad I could be of some assistance. It's definitely nice meeting you, too. Kind of ironic how things work out sometimes, huh?" he asked with a laugh. He was sure that she was just saying that, but perhaps he really was a bright point in her day. She did seem to show some genuine concern for him as she spoke. "Ah, yeah, it's kind of just one of those things a Quidditch player has to learn to deal with," he nodded. Learning to manage pain properly and not screw yourself up was certainly a learning curve.
Though Colby didn't think his metabolism was all too fast, he fortunately worked out more than enough to burn off the extra treats that he got himself now and again. "Ah, yeah, I'm pretty sure that if I wasn't in a job that forced me to exercise, I would end up being pretty fat," he chuckled, knowing full well that it was absolutely the truth. He was a decent enough cook, so he ended up cooking for the team and eating a ton with them. "So, do you have to go back to work real soon? What stories are you working on right now?" he asked, curious to hear more about her job. He spent so much time around Quidditch players that he didn't get to hear much about the lives of other people and he was definitely fascinated by it.
