deceptively innocent. persuasive. liar. manipulative. stubborn. cold. loyal. opinionated. untrusting. blunt. feisty.
this here is katherine. her friends call her kat, and her close/best friends call her belladonna, bella, or kat. she's a recruiter for the death squadron, as well as a con artist and waitress. growing up around people who tolerated nothing short of perfection, kat has become well adapted to juggling multiple tasks at once, and her photographic memory just makes things that much easier. very selective of those she lets into her circle of trust, kat doesn't trust easily, and doesn't tolerate being double-crossed. if you betray her, you can guarantee your name will be etched into her little black book, and won't be crossed out until she's gotten you back. to those she does let in, you will never find a more loyal friend than kat. she would never betray a true friend, even for power (though acquaintances, allies and associates are a different story), and unless you stab her in the back, she'll be there for you until death. hell hath no fury like a blackwood wronged, and kat is no exception. despite her deceptively innocent appearance, and her generally nice demeanor, she is a remarkably capable witch, and is not above jinxing anyone into st mungo's, or accidentally slipping a potion into your drink. ambitious to a fault, kat doesn't idly sit by and watch opportunities pass her by that she thinks should be hers, and she is a very persistent young woman. constantly striving for approval and praise throughout her youth, kat is a complete perfectionist, and doesn't take second-rate work from anybody, especially not herself. She doesn't stop short of perfect, or the best. loving heart, you say? where does a loving heart come from in someone so ambitious? well the truth of the matter is that, though kat's love does need to be earned, she does care deeply about her family and those she considers to truly be friends. she's like an onion, though: first you have to get past her innocent-looking appearance and sweet persona, then you have to get past her prickly ambitious side before you can get to the loyal, loving person underneath. sure she's ambitious, and sure she's a little self-serving, but that's how she was raised. anything less than perfect was severely punished, and even though she's an adult now, she still constantly strives for perfection, so that she can receive praise from her superiors, since praise and approval was the only thing she ever got from her parents when she did well: it was either praise or scolding, approval or stern disapproval; never love, either conditional or unconditional.
