In general, carnivals were pretty much the most exciting thing ever to Lexi. The rides, the food, the excitement. All of it just came together to make for quite the event and there was definitely no way she was going to miss it. Not to mention, the Ministry had decreed that she was supposed to spend the entire event with pretty much the most attractive man on the planet. The fact that somehow the Ministry had deemed her lucky enough to be paired up with Danny Barton from Puddlemere United was probably the greatest thing that had ever happened to her, pretty much. Admittedly, there was a good deal of nervousness that came along with that, but that was more than balanced out by the giddy excitement she was feeling about the whole ordeal.
Technically, she had no idea if Danny would even show up, since he was clearly far too famous to bother with something so silly as a carnival. And she hadn't ever spoken to him about the whole thing, but that didn't mean she wasn't still hopeful that perhaps, somehow, he would show up and she would have the chance to spend time with his awesomeness. She probably should have taken some time to calm herself down before getting ready to head over, since she didn't really want him to think she was some sort of crazy fan...even if she pretty much was. Obviously, it was totally possible that she could act completely and utterly normal around him and they would fall in love and have the cutest kids ever. Or something. << No, she wasn't too crazy obsessed.
What with all the excitement that had been building up over the past few days, Lexi had found it rather impossible to just chill out and wait for the weekend to begin. Given her overabundance of energy, Lexi was out the door and ready to go nearly as soon as the sun came up and had apparated to the pier where the carnival was being held before it was even open. Having shown up early, Lexi sat herself down on the fence outside the carnival and looked out over the water with a grin that took over her entire face. Waiting just a few moment more for the place to open up and the crowds to start showing up would probably kill her, maybe. At least, that was how she liked to see it anyways. Clearly, this was going to be a day to remember and Lexi couldn't wait for it to really begin.
Kicking her legs back and forth in front of her as she waited, Lexi kept her eyes peeled to the booth out front, ready to jump forward and rush to the entrance as soon as it was open. Perhaps she was a bit more of a kid than she should have been at times, but that was never a bad thing. Obviously, finding joy in the little pleasures of life was a good quality, even if she was a bit crazy at times. As the ticket booth opened up and people started to line up, Lexi squealed slightly in excitement and bounded down from her perch a few yards away, quickly joining in the line and making her way through the entrance. As she walked into the carnival and looked around, she was quite unsure as to where, exactly, she wanted to go first or if, perhaps, she should wait for someone that she knew. However, she was much to excited to stay put and so she began to wander forward with a rather excited gleam to her eye.

After spending the better part of his morning out on the field with the rest of his team, going over Quidditch plays, Daniel was now showered, dressed and ready to apparate over to the carnival. Adding the last splashes of aftershave to his neck, he did a once over in the mirror to make sure that he was looking at least half decent, grabbed his wand and then apparated away from the Puddlemere flat. If he was being honest, Daniel wasn't quite sure what to make of this whole being paired up with some randomer for the weekend. He couldn't understand what the Ministry could gain from pulling a stunt like this but he hadn't thought on it too much. He liked to keep things simple after all and getting worked up over something he couldn't control was pretty much pointless. Besides, it wasn't like being made to spend the weekend with a random woman was all that awful or out of the ordinary for him. Well, maybe a little since he usually only spent one night with women before moving onto the next.
Approaching the entrance to the carnival, Daniel couldn't help but think he was sort of an idiot for not messaging Alexis Longbottom and arranging a meeting place. But he'd been so busy with practice lately that it had slipped his mind. In fact he'd almost forgotten about the carnival until the last minute, which was why he'd been unable to get out of morning practice and was now arriving at the carnival a little late. Daniel hoped Alexis hadn't been here long, he'd have to apologize to her when he saw her. Except he hadn't a clue what she looked like. The Longbottom name was of course, familiar, but he was almost positive he didn't know any Alexis Longbottom. Which of course meant he was going be wandering around the carnival like a lost sheep. He hoped Alexis would at least recognize him as a player from Puddlemere because besides him asking around to see if anyone knew her, that was the only way they were going to find each other.
The queue was longer than Danny liked and although he really hated abusing his fame like this, because he was no diva or whatever, he walked to the front and smiled an apology at the person stood at the front. "Hey, sorry kid but do you mind if I cut in? My girlfriend is inside and she's going to kill me because I'm late." He felt bad for lying, but only a little, and grinned wide when the teen nodded his headed. "Cheers pal." Danny patted the teen on the shoulder and paid for his ticket. Winking a thanks at the two young girls behind the ticket booth he turned and headed through the entrance.
Glancing around with mild interest at the stalls and attractions the carnival had to offer, Danny concentrated more on searching for Alexis. Which was sort of hard when all he had to go off was her name. After twenty minutes of approaching women to see if they were Alexis, (they weren't,) and couples to see if they knew who Alexis was, (they didn't) Daniel decided to grab a hotdog and take a seat on one of the many benches littered around the carnival. It wasn't until he was sat down munching on his food that he realized that Alexis may not have shown up at all. The thought peeved him a little. If Alexis had decided not to show then that was just rude. Of course she could have arrived super early and left because he'd turned up late. Though he wasn't sure anyone could say he was late since they hadn't arranged a time and place.

It didn't take more than a few seconds for Alexis to completely get lost in the midst of all of the carnival goodness that was going on around her. Sure, she wanted to find Danny and spend some time with him, but she was getting far too distracted by all of the lights, colours, sounds and smells to seriously fret about finding him. Though, that was probably a good thing considering her general flail when it came to meeting him. She was first attracted to the large tent that would hold the performances later. At some point in her life, it was her intention to start dancing up on the big stage in a much more respectable manner. That wasn't to say she didn't love her current job, but of course it definitely wasn't her ultimate goal. Obviously, she had to have some sort of ambition with her career.
She watched for a moment as people started to bustle about, setting up the stage and getting things ready for the dancers to come on later. When things started to die down, however, she turned to head back out into the crowd and look for Danny. She knew what he looked like, fortunately, since otherwise it would have been a bit difficult for the two of them to meet up. She probably should have thought about that beforehand, but it had completely slipped her mind what with all of the excitement. Besides, she had just kind of assumed he would automatically know her and pick her out in the middle of the crowd before coming forth in a show of knightliness to carry her away to their wedding. Or, you know, at least she had hoped he might know who she was.
Starting on her search, Alexis was a bit worried that perhaps he hadn't even come or that he wasn't there yet or any number of things that could go wrong. Really, it was all just going to be luck from there on out and finding him would be something of a miracle. The carnival was fairly large and if they were both running around looking for each other, there was a chance that they wouldn't run into each other at all. While the thought upset her, she also found it almost perfect. It was like one of those sad romantic movies where the two lovers just barely miss each other and their love is destined to fail until some strange miracle came along and saved the day, bringing them together at last. Plus, the time spent looking for him would give her a chance to compose herself the best she could and get rid of all her crazy fantasies.
Walking over towards the booths, Lexi attempted to figure out where, exactly, a man like Danny would be. Although she had plenty of ideas as to where the perfect man would be waiting, she had to be realistic about it. Obviously, he had to be near food. Strolling over towards the food stalls, Lexi started to scan the crowded benches, looking for Danny as bet she could. Passing by most of the benches, a rather glum look took over her face as she started to lose hope. Then, she saw him. At first, she had to take another look, just to be sure that it was actually him and then she had to contain the squeal of excitement that threatened to burst forth. Obviously, she didn't want to look like a complete lunatic when she went up to greet him.
Shaking off the crazy, Lexi put her cool face on and walked up to the bench where he was sitting. "Uhh, hey. Danny?" she asked, sitting down on the top of the table across from him. "I'm Lexi. Lexi Longbottom. I guess we're supposed to be hanging out or whatever," she said with a nod. That was normal enough, though the grin on her face revealed that she was anything but calm in that moment. She stuck a hand out in greeting, not wanting to miss any of the basic, proper things to do when first introducing herself to someone. As relatively calm and collected as she looked on the outside, her nerves were starting to go absolutely crazy on the inside. After all, it was the Danny Barton.

As he finished off his hotdog, Daniel went over his new plan to locate Alexis. Well, it wasn't so much of a plan, exactly. All he had to do was locate the head of the carnival or someone equally as important and ask them to put a call out for an Alexis Longbottom. He wasn't sure if it was something they normally did but surely they must put out emergency calls, if a child goes missing for example. He figured asking them to put out a call for Alexis to meet him somewhere wouldn't be too much of a problem. Of course his plan would pretty much go to waste if she hadn't turned up yet or had already left, which he hoped wasn't the case.
The entire time he'd been sat at the bench Daniel's eyes had been scanning the passing women and couples, hoping to catch their eye in case they were Alexis. He did manage to catch a few women's eyes and when they noticed him staring they usually blushed and carried on their way. A few had even approached and asked if they could join him. He felt sort of bad for turning them down but he was supposed to be here with Alexis Longbottom, so he simply smiled and said he was waiting for someone. Luckily he hadn't been bombarded with many fans and hoped that he wouldn't throughout the day. Sure he loved his fans and didn't mind the occasional few coming up to ask for autographs and pictures but today was his day off. He wanted to chill and have a good time and being surrounded by eager fans often made that difficult.
Crumpling up his rubbish, Daniel tossed it into the bin not too far from the bench. He was about to get up and go about exiting his plan when he noticed a young woman approaching. Hoping that it was Alexis, he waited in his seat to see what the female had to say. Relief washed over him when the woman introduced herself as Lexi Longbottom and he returned her wide, infectious grin with one of his own. "Hey Lexi. It's nice to meet you." he took her smaller hand in his large one and gave it a firm shake before using the same hand to rake his fingers through his hair. "Sorry, I know this looks bad me being sat here." his grin turned sheepish and apologetic. "I was looking for you but being the numb-nuts that I am, realized I didn't have a clue what your pretty face looked like. So I was pretty much wandering around like a lost lamb." He rubbed the back of his neck and hoped that his charm and innocent compliments would help her warm up to him and forget that he'd spaced and forgotten to contact her earlier with arrangements. The last thing he wanted was for Lexi to think he was a jerk.
"Let me make it up to you?" Walking around the table so that he was stood facing Lexi, he offered his arm in a formal gesture, a playful smile on his face. "Anything you want to do, we'll do." He was aware that flirting and charming his way into Lexi's good graces may not have been the best idea but it was something that came naturally to Danny and besides, what woman didn't like to be charmed? Daniel wasn't overly big-headed but he'd yet to meet a woman who hadn't been smitten with his flirting or charm so he might have been doing something right in that area.

Danny. Barton. Was. Smiling. In. Her. Presence. It was almost too much for the girl to handle, but she managed not to squeal or get too crazy of a look on her face, though the already large smile just widened further. He was probably used to people being completely spastic when they met him, but she definitely didn't want to overwhelm him with it, especially when he was just out attempting to have a normal day. She definitely didn't have the problem of getting recognized by just about everyone ever, so she hoped that she wasn't coming off as a complete nutjob already. At the very least, he didn't seem to be completely disappointed by her yet, so that was good. Perhaps this wouldn't turn out to be all too bad after all and she wouldn't completely fail and make him hate her. Maybe.
As soon as he took her hand to shake it, Lexi squirmed slightly in excitement, unable to completely contain all of the energy bursting forth. "It's kind of awesome amazing to meet you too," she said with a grin, biting at her lip as soon as she realized that she was getting a bit overenthusiastic. Her eyes widened slightly when she heard him apologizing to her. Danny Barton apologizing to her? What was this madness? Whatever had happened, it clearly could not have been his fault. He was too cool to be at fault for anything ever, obviously and it was a bit strange to think that he felt bad for anything. She shook her head a bit, giving him a smile. "No, no. Don't worry about it, aha. You look perfectly fine there. Or...well, you know what I mean," she commented with a bit of a chuckle.
A slightly smirking grin appeared on her face as he spoke, quite pleased that he had actually been looking for her. He may not have wanted to spend the day with some random stranger, but at the very least he was nice enough to indulge the situation. "Aha, yeah. I guess we probably should have talked earlier or something, but it's alright, yeah? Lucky for you, I have seriously awesome skills and was able to pick you out of a crowd," she nodded, a cheerful grin on her face. The longer that she spent standing there, the more chill she became about the situation and the less inferior she felt to Danny. He pretty much was just another person and he was quite nice and he totally didn't act like some sort of stuck up celebrity.
The thought of Danny making anything up to her was kind of ridiculously awesome and sounded like the perfect way to spend the rest of the day. Certainly, she was already starting to feel like the princess she always wanted to be and she was more than happy to let Danny be the prince. Taking his arm with an eager hop, Lexi looked about the carnival with an excited grin. "Well, Mr. Barton, I will definitely take you up on that offer," she agreed. Yeah, this would pretty much be the best day ever. Though, she certainly didn't know what she wanted to do. There was so much going on at the carnival that it was nearly impossible to decide what, exactly, she wanted to start with. "So, what do you want to do first?" she asked, looking over at Danny with a smile.

On first impressions Lexi seemed like a bubbly and cheerful woman and Daniel was happy that he got to spend the day with someone so carefree. It was far better than having to spend the day with some crazy obsessed fan, though Daniel thought that some of Lexi's enthusiasm and excitement might have been because she got to spend the day with a Pro Quidditch player. But it was sort of endearing so it wasn't like he minded. Most of all he was glad that Lexi hadn't taken his being late all that bad. In fact she was being very chill about it which made her that much cooler in his book.
A large grin pulled at his lips when Lexi played along, linking her arm through his with a smile. Danny had spent barely two minutes with Lexi, a perfect stranger, and already he was beginning to warm up to her. It was sort of hard not too though, not when she gave him that infectious smile of hers. When Lexi asked what they should do first, Daniel automatically did a sweep of the area with his eyes. "Well, first things first. Candy floss." he tugged gently at her arm, an indication for her to follow. and headed over to the stand sat besides the one where he got his hot-dog. "You can't go round a Carnival without candyfloss. That's just criminal." He flashed her a smile and ordered two Candy flosses. "Don't worry if you don't like it. I'll munch yours too, no problem." he handed over some change and thanked the server before handing a stick of candy floss to Lexi. "Enjoy."
Leading Lexi away from the sweet stand, Daniel strolled at a slow pace through the carnival, checking out the stands and what they had to offer. "So, Lexi." Danny started, picking off some candy floss with his fingers. "What do you do for a living? If it's okay to ask?" Distracted by a fan, Daniel smiled and waved at the young boy before turning his attention back to Lexi. "Besides, It's only fair since you know what I do." He gave Lexi a cheeky smile and popped some more candy floss in his mouth. "Wait, hold that thought."
Stopping Lexi with his hand, Danny nodded over at a game stand not too far from them, a grin on his face, and beckoned her to follow. The stand was small and similar to the type of stalls they would have at a Muggle Carnival. Except this game was very much a wizards game. "Hey. Three Quaffles please?" The plump man behind the stall nodded and handed Daniel three small sized Quaffles. The aim of the game was to "shoot" or rather throw the Quaffles through the three hoops that were spaced out a few yards between each of them. If you managed to shoot all three past the betwitched Beater clubs swinging through the air you won a prize. The largest hoop was the closest to Daniel and the easiest one to score. Of course the second and third were insanely easy for him to score too but Daniel didn't want to come off like a show off so he pretended he had a little trouble with the last hoop.
"'Ere." The plump man handed the large teddy bear he'd won with a wheeze and a cough before he turned and went about summoning the Quaffles back. Taking the over-sized lion, Daniel turned and again beckoned Lexi to follow. When they were a few steps away he stopped and handed the stuffed animal to Lexi. "Here. Something to remember me by" he joked dramatically and smiled.

Although she would never have voiced the thought, Lexi was more than thrilled by the fact that Danny was going to take the lead. She loved when guys could do that, since obviously that's what princes were supposed to do. Sure, she was all for the whole strength of women thing, but she definitely wasn't against a man taking charge once in awhile and leading the way. Besides, it would be interesting to see what kinds of things Danny was into aside from Quidditch. Her eyes lit up at the mention of candy floss, since obviously that was perhaps one of the best things ever. Lexi was absolutely the kind of girl that had a ridiculous sweet tooth and the fact that Danny was apparently in the same boat made him that much more awesome. "I certainly can't say no to candy floss. Wouldn't want to be a criminal," Lexi replied with a light chuckle, accepting the candy floss with a grateful nod. "Thank you very much," she added, giving him another bright smile. She felt rather bad that he was paying for it, so she determined that she would pay for the next whatever it was that they decided they wanted to buy. Obviously, that was only fair.
Happily strolling along with Danny, Lexi took a bite from her candy floss, chewing on it for a moment while she listened to Danny speaking. His question, for a moment, threw her off guard and she nearly spit her candy floss out. Luckily, he had momentarily looked over at a younger boy and she was able to recover before he looked back over towards her. To be honest, she didn't really want to tell him what she really did, since it wasn't exactly a great selling point, but she didn't really want to lie to him since that wasn't fair. Pausing for a moment, Lexi bit at her lip thinking of what to say. She was rescued, however, when Danny asked her to wait for a moment and started to lead her over towards one of the games. That definitely beat any sort of discussion about her job, that was for sure. It wasn't so much that she was embarrassed by what she did, since she absolutely adored what she did, but it wasn't really something you told someone the first time you met them. Especially not when you were trying to impress them at least a bit.
Letting another bright grin appear on her face, she eagerly followed him over towards the stand holding the game. She had a feeling that Danny would probably have no trouble at all with the game, considering the fact that he did it for a living. Lexi hopped up onto the stall and turned to face Danny so that she could watch. "You might want to make it a bit harder, hm? This one has a bit of an unfair advantage," she commented, addressing the worker with a tinkle of laughter. She was, of course, just joking around and she had a feeling that Danny was the sort of guy that could take a joke without a problem, which was definitely bound to make the day quite the interesting experience. Though, she had already been quite convinced that it was going to be one of the best days of her life, so everything else happening was just making it that much better.
Watching closely, Lexi applauded lightly as Danny got the first one in with ease, quickly followed by the second. He hesitated slightly on the third, but the ball still flew through the hoop with a thud as it hit the back of the tent. Hopping up with a grin, Lexi was quite excited by the whole ordeal. Although she hadn't expected him to fail, she still had a ridiculous grin on her face as he turned around with a giant, stuffed lion. Taking it from him, Lexi hugged it to her, before putting it under one arm to give Danny a big hug. "As if I could ever forget you," she added with a bemused look. Though, she certainly wouldn't say no to keeping it, since obviously everyone ever in the world should be jealous of the fact that the Danny Barton had given her a stuffed animal.
What with how nice and open he was being, Lexi definitely felt a bit bad about avoiding his question earlier. Obviously he deserved at least some sort of answer, even if it wasn't exactly the entire truth. "As for what I do, I guess you could say I'm a dancer," she commented with a nod. That didn't sound too bad. Dancing was a legitimate and not openly frowned upon profession, so that seemed like a fairly safe answer. Not entirely a lie, but definitely not revealing the fact that she was a stripper. Wanting to get as far away from that subject as possible, Lexi put on another bright smile and looked about for a good reason to change subjects. "Ooh, we should go snap pictures in the house of mirrors. I brought a camera with me if you're cool with that," she suggested, hoping he didn't think her suggestion was far too silly or that he didn't want to have his photo taken with her or at all, for that matter.

A quiet chuckle escaped Daniels lips when Lexi squeezed the stuffed animal and then moved to give him a hug too. The word 'adorable' popping into his mind once again. He gave Lexi a charming smile at her comment, that she wouldn't be forgetting him anytime soon. He'd have liked to say the same to her, except that would be kind of weird since they'd only just met and she was most likely saying it because he famous. "Good, good. I'd be heartbroken if you did." he pressed his hands, one on top of the other, over his heart and feigned having a broken heart before he broke out into an easy grin.
"You dance? Nice." Daniel said with genuine interest. "Maybe you could teach me some moves?" he wriggled his eyebrows and did a little jig. "Unless you do ballet. I don't think I'd be able to pull off those jumps and spins they do." he shrugged his shoulders here and pulled a face to show that, that would an awful idea. When Lexi suggested heading over to the house of mirrors to snap some pictures, Danny was happy to go along with the idea. "Yeah, sure." He slipped his hands into his jean pockets and began to walk.
The house of mirrors wasn't too far from where they had been stood, so the walk wasn't a long one. When they reached the entrance, Danny held out a hand to stop Lexi and then turned to face, a serious expression on his face. "You're not going to put any embarrassing pictures of me on the internet, right?" He gave a serious stare and raised his eyebrows. "I mean, I don't want to have to sue you." There was a few moments of silence before Daniel was no longer able to keep the facade. His tight frown melted into a cheeky smile and he jabbed Lexi on the shoulder lightly with his fist. "I'm just playin'. Come on." He quirked his head toward the entrance before heading inside.

Obviously Lexi had done something right to have been given this chance, since Danny was kind of a lot more amazing than she had originally anticipated. It was one thing to see his smile in a magazine, but in person it was kind of to die for. He was probably the single most adorable man that she had ever met in her life and she got to spend the entire day with him. Of course, he was probably just being overly adorable because he was somewhat required to and they probably wouldn't really ever see each other again, but Lexi had put that thought out of her mind. Obviously she wasn't about to let anything ruin her perfect day with her newfound prince. "That would be terrible, love. I guess I'll just have to remember you forever," she replied with an impish grin and a shrug. Though she was joking around, she had a feeling that she very well might remember this day for a long time to come.
Lexi had to resist the urge to burst into laughter at his suggestion she teach him some moves. "That would definitely be something I'd love to see," she commented, biting her lip slightly to keep the silly grin from her face. Obviously, he probably wouldn't get the humour in that, since he had no idea what she really did, but Lexi certainly got a kick out of the idea. Though, seeing Danny strip wouldn't be something she'd ever say no to. "I've danced ballet before, but ah, not professionally. It's more of a...different style, I guess," she nodded. She felt a bit bad that she wasn't really being completely honest with him, but not enough to come clean and tell him she was a stripper. It just didn't seem like something he needed to know just yet. Or ever, you know. That would be okay with her too.
She was pretty excited to head over to the house of mirrors, since it would be a totally fun time, especially if they were taking pictures. Which obviously wasn't just so that she could have pictures of her and Danny together so she could hang them up in her room or anything. Stopping abruptly when he put up a hand, she raised an eyebrow and gave him a curious look. A rather mischievous smile rose on her face at his question, since that definitely wouldn't be too far out of the question. If there were embarrassing photos, they definitely would be on the net. Those were the most fun after all. Lexi stuck a tongue out at Danny and gave him and innocent shrug before taking his hand and entering into the building. "Don't worry, I'll only pick the best ones for the net. The others I'll just sell copies to fans or something. Might as well get something out of our date, eh?" she commented with a laugh. Psh, just being there with Danny was more than enough for her. Honestly, it was kind of awesome. "Just kidding, by the way," she added, looking back over at him after a moment to make sure he didn't think she was serious.
As they entered into the house of mirrors, Lexi fumbled around in her purse for a moment, digging her camera out and holding it up triumphantly. "Camera, check. Awesome setting, check. Supercute boy, check. Now we just need some embarrassing poses and we'll be good to go," Lexi said with an eager grin on her face. She was rather childish a lot of the time and it wasn't odd for her to act like a complete fool at times, just for the fun of it. She just hoped that Danny was the kind of guy that didn't mind a little bit of fun and could be a dorkus now and then without hesitation. Puffing up her cheeks, she looked into one of the mirrors, giggling as it extended her face even more. Total kid, yeah, but she was adorable.

It was strange to think that Danny had only met Lexi fifteen minutes ago because already they were getting on great and Daniel couldn't help but notice how much this was like a date. Of course that had been the Ministry's intention, because well else would they pair people up in couples? But Danny hadn't expected to mesh so well with his chosen 'date' for the day. Already he could see how much of a bubbly, easy-going person Lexi was and already he liked her. Being the charming young man that he was, Daniel had always been used to all sorts of female attention. He was used to dates and the occasional hook-ups but it wasn't usual for him to take such a warming to a woman so fast. And if he was being perfectly honest, it was a little unnerving. "You'll have to show me sometime." He smiled, vaguely wondering what sort of dancing it was that she did.
When Lexi told him not to worry, Daniel raised a brow at her. He wasn't sure if she was being serious or not about selling pictures of him to fans and gave a big smile when she'd said she was joking. It would have been shit if she turned out to be another groupie out to get with him for money and fame. Sure, he hadn't thought she'd be like that but Daniel had met much sweeter girls who had tricked him. Of course it had only happened once and now he knew how to spot the genuine from the fake. The vibe he got from Lexi told him that she was a completely genuine person.
Entering the House of Mirrors, Danny stopped and waited for Lexi as she fiddled with her purse. He stepped to the side when a couple of teenagers entered, allowing them to pass. To be honest, the House of Mirrors wasn't a place he'd choose to go in himself. Of course he was here because Lexi wanted to be and it would be rude to tell her no when she was having to spend the entire day with him. However it was hard not to find Lexi's enthusiasm and goofy grin infectious. When she smiled he couldn't help but smile back and when she started to pull silly faces in the distorted mirrors he couldn't help but chuckle and want to join in.
Following Lexi over to a different mirror, Daniel grinned at his reflection. His normally tall, lean frame was squished down so that he looked like a little house elf. Beckoning, Lexi over, Daniel sweeped her up into his arms so that he was holding her bridal style and nodded at their reflections, indicating for her to take a picture. When she did, he placed her back onto her feet and gave her a grin. "Sorry about that but that will be a good one." he winked and then took her hand to lead her around the maze of mirrors. Once they stopped he began to pull faces and poses, flexing his muscles and grinning wide at his distorted reflection.
"Now that I've finished embarrassing myself," he grinned here to show that he wasn't being all that serious, that he was having fun. "Do you want to go on the Ferris Wheel?" Ferris Wheels were one of Danny's favorite rides, simply because you got to be up high and check out the scenery whilst chilling out and having a conversation. "Unless you want to do something else first? I'm cool with whatever you want." It would be a good chance to him to get to know Lexi a little better, because he wanted too, for sure.

Show him sometime. That was probably the last thing that Lexi really wanted to do at any point, but than again he might be into that kind of thing. However, that was probably a date better saved for much later. Well, if they even ever got to that point. Admittedly, however, Lexi kind of felt that it totally good. Maybe he was just being a nice guy or whatever, but she felt like she was really able to connect with him. Of course, that was likely just because it was a part of his job or whatever, which was too bad. She definitely was having a good time and she didn't want to have that worry that perhaps it was just a facade that Danny had to put on when around any sort of fan. Ah, well. She'd eventually figure out what he really thought of her and for now she just wanted to have a good time.
Lexi let out a rather short laugh at the face he made when she started to joke with him, though of course she hoped that she hadn't upset him too much. It was rather hard to find herself worrying about that, however, when she saw the smile that he gave her. He had one of those ridiculously attractive grins that just drew people in and she loved it. With that, Lexi gladly followed after Danny into the House of Mirrors to start snapping photos of the two of them. Though it probably wasn't something that most people did when they went to the carnival, it was just something that Lexi found incredibly amusing. She was the sort of goofball that loved to update her WWW with all kinds of silly photos of herself and if she had the chance to take them, she definitely would.
Getting a few pictures in, Lexi's face was lit up with excitement about the whole situation. Of all the people that should could have been paired with, it was Danny Barton. Who, not only was absolutely gorgeous, also was one of the most fun "dates" she'd ever gotten to be with. She cocked her head to the side slightly when he motioned for her to come over, but didn't hesitate in the slightest to do just that. For whatever reason, she had come to the decision that she quite trusted him and whatever it was he wanted was just fine by him. She yelped a bit when he lifted her up, but couldn't help but let another silly grin take over her face as she quickly snapped a photo. Yeah, that would definitely be a good profile picture. It was obviously too damn adorable. "No, it's totally fine. It'll be a great picture," she nodded before continuing on through the maze of ridiculous looking pictures.
As they tumbled out of the House of Mirrors, her camera chock full of pictures that definitely would be posted on her profile the moment she got home, Lexi turned to look at him with an eager grin. Whatever they were going to do next, she was more than ready. "I would absolutely love to. I kind of love the Ferris Wheel," Lexi said with an excited nod. Even though it was one of the more tame rides at the place, it was absolutely one of the most romantic. Lexi, being one of those fairytale romance kind of girls, was pretty much about to die at the thought of being on a Ferris Wheel with Danny. Obviously he knew exactly how to make a date perfect. Well, if the day could even be considered a date. Lexi certainly would like to anyways.
With a bounce to her steps, Lexi took Danny's hand and started off towards the line for the Ferris Wheel. The line, when they got there, was fairly short and it took no more than a few turns of the wheel to get the two into a seat and on their way up. "Gosh, the view here is just absolutely fantastic. Everyone down there is so happy," Lexi pointed out, looking down at the people below them as they started to slowly become smaller and smaller the higher up the wheel took them. "Ah, thanks for showing up today, by the way, it's been a lot of fun," she added, giving him another bright grin. He probably thought she was a total loser for thanking him for something like that, but she was sure that there were plenty of guys that had skipped out on their assigned dates and she was so glad he hadn't been one of them.

All in all, going through the house of mirrors hadn't been as bad as Danny had thought it would have been. Of course it was all down to Lexi and her bubbly, enthusiastic nature. She made the experience fun and a little exciting. And again, all Danny could think was how strange it was that he had warmed to the female so fast. Despite the number of girls he'd been with, he hadn't ever clicked so well with anyone so fast. If he'd been the overly romantic and cheesy type he might have said it was fate, but Danny wasn't sure he believed in love at first sight or anything soppy like that. It was just luck that they got on so well. There wasn't any point thinking on it all that much anyway so Daniel pushed it to the back of his mind to concentrate on Lexi and the day ahead.
"Brilliant." Danny grinned when Lexi admitted that she loved the Ferris Wheel. It would have sucked if she was afraid of heights or something, especially since he loved being up high and therefore loved rides like the Ferries Wheel. Of course it couldn't compete with being up high on your broom since you got to fly about in the air but the Ferris Wheel was more about being able to relax and enjoy the view whilst having a talk if you wanted. Pulled from his thoughts when Lexi took his hand, Daniel allowed her to lead the way over to the ride.
Once in the line, he was spotted by a few fans and signed a couple of autographs, giving a group of ten year old boys hi-fives and fist bumps. They waved up at him as he and Lexi took their sits and were taken up into the air, Danny gave a short wave back and a grin before he returned his attention to Lexi. "Yeah, looks like everyone's having a good time." he agreed with her comment, his eyes flickering over the bodies below which were becoming smaller and smaller. When Lexi thanked him for showing up, he couldn't help but grin. This girl was all kinds of adorable and if it was an actual date then this was the point that Daniel would have leaned over to give her a kiss. He sure as hell wanted too. Except it wasn't an actual date, heck he wasn't sure what this was, and the last thing he wanted to do was earn a slap for being inappropriate. Sure he got the vibe that Lexi liked him but it could have been completely platonic and besides, they'd only just met.
"No problem." he said finally, "I'm having a good time too. It's not often I mingle with civilians." he teased and gave her a cheeky grin. "You're not so bad Longbottom." he added and gave her a playful wink before leaning back and stretching out his arms to rest them along the back of their seat. "So, what house were you in? I'm guessing you're a lion." he glanced at her thoughtfully, cocking his head to the side. "Maybe a badger, definitely not a snake. But I'm thinking lion." Of course he knew that she would have attended Hogwarts since everyone knew the Longbottom name. He didn't recognize her though, which meant she must have been a couple of years below him since she didn't look any older than he was.

Although some girls may have found it annoying that Danny was signing autographs and dealing with fans while they were out together, Lexi wasn't like that at all. If anything, she found it rather endearing that he didn't have a problem stopping to chat and do pictures with the people that looked up to him. Lexi was big on family and it was always good to know that there were guys out there in the spotlight that wanted to make a good impression on the youth out there. "You're kind of adorable when you're talking to kids," Lexi commented as they went to take their seats in the Ferris Wheel. She wasn't sure if that was something she was allowed to say just yet, but she had never really been one to hold back anything before. If she liked someone, generally she let them know it. Obviously there was no use hiding your feelings, since that just got you nowhere.
It definitely looked like everyone was having a good time, herself included. Though she didn't have far too many hesitations coming into the afternoon, she had to admit that it was turning out even better than she had expected. Danny was everything that she had been hoping he would be, which was usually pretty difficult to achieve. Sure, he didn't ride a white horse in to come save her from a dragon or anything, but he was doing a pretty good job so far. Obviously, he could turn into a prince on their next date. Well, if they could even consider their time that afternoon a date, anyways. It was like enough to a date that Lexi most definitely intended to claim that she had been out on a date with the Danny Barton, even if they never saw each other again.
Not so bad definitely sounded like an almost compliment, so Lexi was happy to take it. "Yeah, I guess you're alright too, Barton. You know, for a Quidditch player," she replied with a light chuckle, quite glad that he was the kind of guy that liked to just joke around. She'd been out with plenty of guys that were just obnoxiously boring and she hated it. Anyone that was too stuffy and couldn't take a few jokes just couldn't mesh well with Lexi, so she was quite thrilled that Danny wasn't like that at all. In fact, he was pretty much the exact sort of guy that she would have picked out for herself had she been the one making the decisions.
Leaning back slightly in the seat, Lexi pursed her lips for a moment, quite impressed that he had called her house so easily. "Lion through and through. I'd guess about you, but I mean, everyone knows things like that about you," Lexi said, nodding slightly. She wasn't sure if it was creepy or not that she knew he was a former Gryffindor as well, but obviously it was totally normal since he was famous. Besides, she'd been to a few of his Hogwarts games when she was much younger and vaguely remembered thinking he was the older, hotshot guy that everyone fantasized about... Not that he needed to know any of that, of course. Some things were obviously best kept to herself in this sort of situation. "I was a few years behind you, pretty sure," she added. She was a good five years younger than he was, but honestly at the age range they were in, Lexi didn't see that as an issue in the least.
