to delilah, honeydukes was one of the best places on earth. she would openly admit that she was a sweets nut. anything and everything candy was good in her books. so when hogwarts weekend came around honeydukes was the first place she started towards, knowing that her candy drawer back in her dorm was getting awfully low. she took any chance she got to keep fully stocked on candy. she walked up to honeydukes and opened the large door. she hadn't even stepped inside yet but she could already smell all of the sweet candies that awaited her inside. come here candy, candy! you're bad for my teeth but so good for my tummy. she thought to herself as she smiled and walked inside. today was now her favorite day.
she started in the back of the store and started making her way towards the front. she had a certain way of going through honeydukes. you had to take your time and make sure you looked at every single candy that was placed in a bin or on a shelf. how else were you going to make sure you didn't miss the next best thing? she surely wasn't going to miss out on anything. that was probably the reason no one went in with her to shop for candies. she took at least an hour to get through the entire store and by that time half of the trip was already over. but dee definitely didn't mind it, being in honeydukes made her happy, who doesn't get happy when around thousands of candies?
her bag was already half way full of candy goods when she reached the halfway point at the store. her candy drawer back at hogwarts would not be lacking after this trip. she was excited to try all of the new candies that she had picked up while shopping. she couldn't believe she didn't have more meat on her bones, she had to at least eat a big bag filled with candy every week. maybe she should cut back on the sugar, it's not like she needed it anyways. she saw some fizzing whizzbees and headed for them. after taking a bag of the shelf she turned around, not paying attention where she was going. she bumped into something and dropped the bag of fizzing whizzbees on the floor. "whoops!" she said leaning over to pick up the bag up placing it in her already to heavy candy filled bag. she straightened herself out and then smiled apologetically at the person in front of her. "sorry about that, i wasn't paying attention. are you okay?"

Having a job wasn't something that Jace had ever particularly wanted to do, but given the state of things in his life, he kind of had to. He had never lived with a family that had any real money, so as soon as he was old enough to land a job, he had gone out to get one. Jace wasn't responsible by any means, but he was actually a very dedicated worker. He knew that no one was going to give him anything in life easy, so he worked for what he wanted. However, that didn't mean that his job at Jungle Eats was a good one. In fact, the pay pretty much sucked, but no one was really looking to hire a young, Slytherin delinquent and he was lucky that he had even found someone that would actually give him a job. So, even if he hated where he worked and hated that he even had to work, Jace dealt with it. He showed up, did what he was supposed to, and left with his wages. He didn't really make friends with his co-workers, he just worked.
Getting off his shift a bit early, Jace tossed his things into his bag and picked up that week's money. It wasn't much, but it was better than nothing and it let Jace go out and buy a few things that he needed. However, before he worried about replacing the jacket that was worn and had holes all in it, Jace wanted to get himself a little something for him and not something that his foster parents should have been providing. It was hard on them, having both himself and his brother to look after and Jace didn't really even think that they wanted to. Of course, he was just bitter about everything and the situation he was in and it showed in everything that he did. So, sometimes Jace did things with the hopes of making it seem normal. Anything that made his life seem normal was something that he craved, so buying himself a candy bar at Honeyduke's seemed like one of the most normal things he could do.
Jungle Eats was only a few stores down from Honeyduke's, so Jace just walked over there quickly to start looking through to find what he wanted. Jace didn't get to shop there all too often, but he tried to go after getting his pay every week. It was typically inexpensive enough that he could get himself a little something before he had to go out and pick up the staples for himself, so it just kind of worked. Opening the door to the shop, Jace started to look down one of the aisles, picking things up here and there to inspect them further. For the most part, he'd at least tried many of the things that were in the store, but there were always plenty of new things for him to check out and possibly buy. Usually he was only able to buy just one particular thing, so it took him awhile to really get through everything in the store, since he had to seriously think over his decision.
Pausing in one of the aisles, Jace picked something else up to read over what it was. It took him awhile to work through the wrapper, since he wasn't exactly the best at reading. It was a skill that most people picked up from their youth and their parents, but not Jace. He had been uprooted so many times that his reading was limited to the little he learned passing back and forth between homes and so it took him awhile. Frowning a bit as he looked at the candy bar again, Jace felt a bump in his side that pushed him over slightly before he righted himself and turned with an even more sour look. "Watch the fuck where you're going. There are other people around here," he grumbled, not sure who the girl was and certainly not caring much. He hated when people bumped into him and it really just made him all the more bitter than he already was.
