lily was skipping. it wasn't an unusual thing to find little lily luna potter doing. it was actually quite normal. lily was also humming a christmas muggle song that she had heard while on break. her father had once told her that it was his favorite song as a child. lily never wanted to grow up, never. if she had her way then she would remain at hogwarts forever. maybe she would be a teacher? lily didn't know what she wanted to be after hogwarts but she did know that she didn't want to be any sort of quidditch player or a teacher. she didn't like to bring attention towards herself.
lily skipped inside of honeyduke's, it was owned by victorie, her cousin. she didn't see her anywhere inside but she did see plenty of her fellow students inside. many of them said hi to her as she passed them and she mumbled a small 'hello' back to them. lily's eyes wandered over all of the heads inside the store. then she saw her older brother, albus. "albuuuuuuuus!" she grinned and made her way over to him and gave him a tight hug the second she was close to him. she broke the hug quickly and smiled. lily was always smiling. she just always found something to smile about. "how are you?" she smiled and ran her hand through her brown-red hair.

There were few things in life that Albus loved as much as he loved being at Honeyduke's. The appeal of the candy was reason enough to spend a decent amount of his time there, but the fact that his older cousin owned the store made it that much sweeter of a deal. Albus, though not entirely like the rest of his family in many ways, loved them to pieces and being around them was something he did every chance that he got. He hadn't seen many of his other family members that day, so Albus had decided it would be a good time to make a trip to Hogsmeade, restock on some of the different things he needed and maybe check in to see how Victoire was fairing. Though she was a good deal older than he was, he didn't mind chatting with her from time to time. She was family and Albus generally enjoyed the company of all his family.
After a quick chat with Victoire, Albus turned his attentions to looking through the store and trying to find a decent bunch of candy to take back and share with some of his mates that night over a game of wizard's chess or something. As he was looking through the aisles, he heard a familiar voice call out to him and he turned with a grin towards the source. "Hey, Lils," he said with a bright grin, opening his arms to return her embrace. "I'm doing great, just picking some stuff up for later. What about you? What have you been up to?" he asked, quite glad to have the chance to see his younger sister. They were a pretty tight-knit family and he hadn't seen her in a day or two, so he was definitely due for some brother-sister time.

lily always seemed like she was sugar high. it wouldn't be unusual for her if she was high on sugar. lily had a sweet tooth, she was always in honeyduke's buying new candy for her stash of candy she had hidden under her bed, very much hidden. she's never run out of candy before and she doesn't plan on doing so for a long time. lily loves candy even if it's very bad for her. being so small and slim she should probably eat lots of protein and just food that's good for her. she didn't care, she would have something good for her for dinner that night.
"brilliant, me too, i'm getting pretty low on candy." lily smiled like she always did. she was hardly ever caught not smiling or having a happy expression on her face. she's a genuine happy person and doesn't see why people can't be happy about life and living. she doesn't understand those people. "uh, well, i got a detention yesterday because i was talking a lot during potions and uh, james was being an ass to this girl so i saved her but he didn't get mad and i haven't seen you in days which is odd." it was weird for them not to see each other at least once a day but they haven't see each other in days. lily wanted to spend time with her older brother. they weren't as close as her and james but they were pretty close.

Knowing fairly well just how much candy Lily could eat on any given day, it didn't surprise Albus much that she was there to replenish her stocks of candy before it got to a critical point. "Aha, you say that like you eat candy once in awhile or something," he chuckled, shaking his head a bit. He wasn't really a full-on sugar nut like Lily, but he liked to have it around for when he was hanging out with friends or something, just so that they had something fun to snack on. Or if Lily was hanging out with him, he generally always offered her something. Albus was just that kind of guy that knew little things about what people liked and managed to keep them around just in case. He found that he was usually in a lot better mood when he was around people that were happy, so he did what he could to ensure that everyone was as happy as they could be.
He probably should have been a tad more bothered by the fact that Lily was landing herself detentions, but Albus knew that it happened to everyone, so it didn't make much of a difference. The potions professor was a cow anyhow. "Oh, Jamesy, he's such a grump sometimes. Haven't seen him around much either. I've just kind of been practicing and doing my own thing," he shrugged. Really, he hadn't been doing anything all that exciting lately, but that was just fine by Albus. He was always happy to just chill out, play music, not do a whole lot. "What are you up to the rest of the day? I'm not doing anything special if you want to hang out," he offered with a slight smile. It would be nice to just hang around with Lily for awhile, especially since they hadn't had a chance to talk or anything the last few days.

lily pouted, "i'm not obsessive, i only eat it when i'm in the mood... which is actually a lot. mum said that it was unhealthy and took away my stash at home..." she grinned, "but not the one at school." she smiled. lily was the type of person to go against her parents when it came to her candy, but aside from that she would never go against them. candy is just something that she couldn't live without, thank merlin that she had two stashes; one at school and one at home. but what was she going to do when she got home? sneak cookies into her room and take small portions of candy from wherever her mother hid it so she wouldn't notice? it was a bad obsession, but better than others, like firewhiskey. the candy would probably end up rotting her teeth in the end, but she didn't care. she liked the taste of it and it was an easy thing for people to get her for her birthday.
"he's very grumpy, he should take some happy pills and be happy and eat candy, yeah, that would help grumpy gills." she giggled and smiled at her brother, she hadn't really seen much of him recently, sure she saw him around the common room and they basically had the same group of friends but that was it, they were pretty close too, but lately they were drifting apart and lily didn't like that. "hmm, i was going to get some candy and then go back to school and eat food," she laughed, she had no life whatsoever in her mind. "but that can wait for tonight," she loved walking around the castle past curfew, the elves always greeted her kindly, too. "that sounds like fun, what did you have in mind?"

Albus couldn't really blame Lily much for being quite addicted to Honeyduke's candy. It was, after all, the best in the world. At least, he quite thought so anyway. "I'm just playin' kid, you should eat it up while you can," he chuckled. He knew their parents were usually pretty lax about most things, but they did care about their kids a lot and if they saw something that concerned them than they wouldn't hesitate to say something. "Bet they'd let you eat whatever you wanted anyway," he said with a shrug. Lily was the youngest of the bunch and therefore she was more capable of getting away with things than the two boys were. Albus had a feeling that if she smiled at their father and gave him that little pout than he would say yes to just about anything that she wanted.
"Hah, yeah, that's probably exactly what he needs," he agreed with a nod. Albus generally loved hanging around anyone in his family and was quite close to the majority of them. It was a rare day that he didn't have a conversation with at least one of his siblings or cousins, so he was usually pretty up to date with anything going on in their lives. "You sure sound like you're having all kinds of fun. There was this show I was going to go to in like thirty minutes if you wanted to come. It's a friend of mine playing, so I figured I'd stop by," Albus suggested. He spent a lot of his time at different music venues, just listening to music and hanging around other people that shared the same passion as he did. It always put him in a good mood and it was just something that he was happy to spend his time with. Not to mention, there were quite a few girls that thought it was cool.
