She nodded a bit as a show of thanks for his comment, but didn't say much more than that. Of course it was a good shot. Honestly, if she had missed on just the first hole than her father would have been terribly upset with her lack of discipline. She had to at least make it a few holes down the course before she could start taking multiple shots. Her eyes revealed a general amusement as Kendall took his shot, since it was obvious before he even swung that his body position was completely off. Of course, she probably couldn't expect most people to have something as trivial as mini-golf down to a science, but that was just how her father had always been. Go hard or go home. No point in doing something if you aren't going to be the best that you possibly could be.
Waiting until he had finished with that hole, Remy started walking over to the next. "Err, yeah, no problem," she commented in response to his statement. To be honest, she was a bit surprised that she had accepted as well, but so far there had been no reason for her not to say yes. "Here, let me show you how to shoot proper," she said, tugging at his arm slightly. Moving around the boy, she positioned his arms and legs until she was satisfied that he should be able to sink the next shot. "Okay, now just pull back with your arms straight and tap it with just a bit less force than your last shot," she instructed, stepping back to let him take the shot.

---cause if you let me, here's what i'll do
i’ll take care of you--- A bit worried, Kendall noticed the pained look Remy showed when she started talking about her father. Kendall wanted to comfort her, to throw his arm around her shoulder and tell her that everything will be okay, but he remained motionless. What was he supposed to do? It’s not like he knew how she was feeling, and he most certainly knew that nothing he said would help her feel any better. Letting the issue go, he watched her set up and hit another perfect ball. It didn’t surprise him all that much, because he knew the girl was a bit competitive, regardless of what sport she was playing. Kendall just accepted the fact that he wasn’t going to beat her, or even come close to matching her score, so he didn’t put as much effort into it.
Walking over to set up his own ball, Kendall didn’t think much of it, just nodding his head to her. He wasn’t really putting himself in the best for the shot. Remy apparently didn’t like that, since the next thing he knew, she had her arms around him. At her touch, Kendall tensed up, jerking his arms into the correct position. He took the shot as she backed away, a smile tugging at his lips when the ball sunk. Thanks, I’ll remember that. Kendall waited a bit before heading over to the next hole, watching her sink another perfect hole. Um, hey. There’s a couples’ dinner with the captain tonight. He paused, kicking at the ground a bit. I know we’re not a couple, but would you like to go? It would be kind of fun, I think. He bit his lip, hoping he didn’t put her in an uncomfortable situation.

Though Kendall wasn't the best at mini-golf, the fact that she had gotten him to improve to the point where he managed to sink the shot was definitely a success. Perhaps a lot of that was pride over the fact that she was the one to bring about his success, but Remy liked to think that she perhaps was slightly proud of the boy himself as well. "Not bad," she commented as his shot went in, though it was hardly much compared to the three she had already gotten. Considering her rather extreme nature when it came to sports, Remy probably shouldn't have been too worried when it came to the game of mini-golf they were playing. There wasn't really any reason to go hardcore, but she couldn't help herself. Lining up her next shot, she was only slightly paying attention to Kendall as she whacked the ball forward and let it rocket into the next hole.
Turning around, she realized that he had probably been saying something important and it took her a moment to backtrack and think about what he had said. "Oh, well, yeah. Isn't that what we're here for? To have a good time and do things?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. Pretty much the majority of the events on the ship would be geared towards couple's, but that was just a minor technicality. Remy didn't see why they couldn't go as just friends and eat dinner. Just because it was a couple's dinner didn't mean it made it any different, after all. They were just eating. Reaching the last hole of the course, Remy lined it up once more and shot it in with a satisfied nod. "I don't think we even need to consider the score on this one," she commented with a wry grin.

---cause if you let me, here's what i'll do
i’ll take care of you--- Lining up the way she showed him, Kendall begain to sink hole-in-one's more frequently, but he definitely couldn't catch up to Remy's near perfect game. It didn't bother him though. He didn't care as much for winning or losing as he did for having a good time. Hence why Kendall wasn't into Qudditch or any other competitive sport. He nodded quietly at her comment, his mind already on another activity that the two could partake in. He laughed absent-mindedly as she didn't even bother to tally up the score. Oh, I thought it was whoever got the most points was the winner. He had a slight smile on his face as he checked their equipment back in.
Returning to her side, Kendall pulled the itinerary out of the pocket in his towel. He looked over the activities that the Ministry had set up for the weekend, quite concerned that majority of them invovled close contact and coupley behaviour. Expected, since they were indeed on a couples' cruise. Trailing his finger down the page, Kendall stopped at a show coming up in a short while. Hey, there's a showing of Romeo and Juliet in twenty minutes. We could make it? He shrugged, waiting for her response.

Finishing out the last shot with a satisfied nod at her work, Remy looked over at Kendall as he spoke with a slight frown. Unlike Kendall, Remy didn't deal well with losing. In fact, losing was something that Remy absolutely wouldn't tolerate from herself and any jokes about it didn't really fly with her. "No, definitely not. Absolutely not a chance," she retorted, shaking her head. She had won and obviously that was the end of that. It was clear that Kendall was just joking around, but sometimes Remmington just wasn't very good at taking a joke. Everyone knew that she needed to lighten up a bit, though, so she didn't imagine Kendall would be too offended.
After their equipment was checked in, Remy wasn't sure what they would be doing next. It seemed like there would be a never-ending list of things they could occupy their time with, so she wasn't concerned about that. Looking over at the list that Kendall had, Remy shrugged at his suggestion. "Sure, I don't think I've ever seen it on stage before, so that could be alright," she agreed, lightly tugging at his arm as she started in the direction of the auditorium. She was probably a bit more hands-on with Kendall than she should have been, considering they were just friends, but she found it easier to just pull him around than to say anything about it. "Do you watch stage shows a lot?" she asked. To be honest, she didn't know much about Kendall's interests, aside from the fact that he was fond of pranking people. He knew a lot about what she liked to do, but she hadn't really taken the time to get to know much about him in return.

---cause if you let me, here's what i'll do
i’ll take care of you--- A slight frown upon his face, Kendall gave the girl a look. I was only kidding Remy. He threw his hands up as a sign of surrender. He tried not to take it too personally, especially since he knew the girl was competitive when it came to sports. In fact, if Kendall was being true to himself, then he would admit that it was quite hot the way she became so defensive about her win. Remy definitely wasn't one of those mindless bimbos, and didn't degrade herself simply to impress him. Pushing the thoughts out of his head, Kendall returned his attention back to the girl, quite pleased that she agreed to see Romeo and Juliet with him.
Feeling her hand lightly tug on his arm, Kendall nodded slightly. Mhm! We go on cruises at least once a year, and my mum loves them, so. Yeah, I've seen quite a few. Romeo and Juliet has to be my favorite though. He led the girl to the dark showroom, picking seats in the center. There weren't many other couples in the audience, probably partaking in the more couple-oriented activities. Not that Kendall minded too much, he didn't like a overpacked theatre. The effect of the actors was sometimes lost on a big crowd.
Settling into his seat, Kendall noticed the cool air of the theatre, the ac on full blast for the actors in the heavy costumes. With ten minutes left before the performance started, Kendall fidgeted slightly in his chair. He was momentarily distracted by a food cart strolling around in the walkway. Hey! They have slushies! Do you want one? He turned to the girl, while fumbling around with the pocket in his towel. Slushies were his favorite frozen muggle drink, and his mum always got him one before a show, a compromise to make him be quiet. Now it was just a showtime tradition. One that he very much wanted to share with Remy.

Of course he had only been kidding. Remy knew that she took things a bit too hardcore a lot of the time and that she probably needed to learn to tone it down, but she couldn't. Going all the way when it came to things was just who she was. "Right, sorry. I just...really like to win," she commented, rather sheepishly. She knew that Kendall wasn't trying to cheat her out of her proper accolades and that she just needed to let it go. That was one of the many things that she was working on in her quest to become a better friend. Or, well, her quest to actually have a friend anyways.
From what she could tell about Kendall, his family was rather well off. He seemed to go on vacation quite frequently, at least compared to her own family. It was a little weird for Remy, but she didn't mind all that much. Just because he was from a wealthier family didn't mean that he was any better than she was. "Ah, well, that's cool. I don't think I've ever sat through an entire play, personally," Remy shrugged. She was a lot more into doing things that were active, so sitting down for something like a stage show wasn't usually on the top of her list. However, Kendall seemed to be into it, so she wasn't going to complain as she followed them over to the auditorium to take their seats.
Glancing over a the cart Kendall seemed so excited by, Remy shrugged her shoulders in response to his question. "Uhm, sure, I guess I could try one," she nodded, though she had a feeling it was nothing but sugar and empty calories. It was a vacation, though, so going a little off her rather strict diet wouldn't be too terrible. She'd just have to make it up later in the gym or something, no big deal. Plus, she could be wrong about the slushies and they might actually be not so bad for her. Considering it was Kendall, however, she had a feeling it was probably slightly childish.

---cause if you let me, here's what i'll do
i’ll take care of you--- Settling back in his seat, happy now that he had his Slurpee, Kendall lazily stared ahead of him. There was just a few moments left before the show started, but it didn’t look like anyone else was going to come join them. Not that he minded, people intimidated him. He glanced over at Remy, a look of shock upon his face. Because you got bored of them or because you can’t sit still for that long? It actually didn’t surprise him all that much though, Remy seemed like the type of person to be on the go all the time. He kind of liked it though, as it meant things never got boring with them.
The lights in the auditorium had gone down considerably, clearly signaling the start of the show. But even as the actors to his favorite play began to strut around stage, Kendall found himself glancing more out of the corner of his eye, a deep and bright smile plastered upon his face. It was quite an understatement to say that he wasn’t paying attention to the play, rather fantasizing once again about the girl he was sitting next to. He didn’t know what stars had aligned to put him into this situation, but Kendall thanked every God imaginable. Giving him enough credit to reach out and cautiously take the small girl’s hand in his own. He smiled even more down at their fingers intertwined, feeling the warmth of her radiating into him. A small sigh escaped from his lips as he comfortable leaned back into his chair. This is good. This is really good.

Taking a sip from the slurpee that Kendall had bought her, Remy nearly spit it back out, though she managed to keep her face straight and just swallow it. The taste wasn't bad, but it was definitely something close to pure sugar and Remy's body didn't often tolerate loads of sugar without sending her into hyperdrive. She didn't want to seem rude, so she simply left the slurpee next to her and occasionally sipped from it. "Oh, mostly because I could never sit still. I was really hyper as a kid and even now I get pretty stir crazy if I'm down too long," she nodded. Remy couldn't understand the people that just sat around all the time and did absolutely nothing with their time. She wasn't one of those people, for sure. She was always up and doing something or other most of the day.
As the lights dimmed down to a dark atmosphere, Remy was already starting to get antsy. Just the peacefulness of the situation was getting to her, though she wasn't going to say anything. This was something Kendall wanted to do and it was both of their weekends, so she needed to try and be nice about it all. However, when he took her hand, Remy completely froze up. That wasn't something that she had been expecting to happen and she wasn't really sure how to react to it. Chewing at her bottom lip, Remy left her hand as it was and let Kendall hold it. It wasn't overly uncomfortable, so she wasn't sure that she was against it. At least, she didn't think that she was against it. "They're uhm, not bad actors," she mumbled, attempting to fill her own awkwardness with some sort of conversation.

---cause if you let me, here's what i'll do

To say that he couldn't think straight around Remy would be the truest fact he ever told. Squirming around a bit, Kendall suddenly didn't have the patience to sit through the play. He wanted to be outside enjoying the sun. Leaning in slightly, the boy whispered to her. Let's go outside. Quietly, he got up from where they were sitting and slipped out of a side exit.
Leaning against the wall of the boat, soaking in the late afternoon sunshine, Kendall lazily glanced at his watch. With a start, he straighten his stance, frowning a bit. I completely forgot about the captain's dinner tonight! We need to go get ready. With a spring in his step, Kendall rushed back to their room. Handling the room key, he turn to Remy a bit. Would you like to take a shower first?

When Kendall dropped her hand, Remy realized that she hadn't been as subtle as she'd intended and he had quickly realized her momentary discomfort. She didn't want to say anything about it though, since that would just make things all the more awkward between them. As far as she knew, Kendall was probably a lot more used to this sort of thing than she was, but to be honest she had no idea what his dating history was like. Turning her head in towards him when he leaned over, she nodded lightly in agreement and slid up out of her chair to follow him out of the theatre. It was probably for the best, since that atmosphere was just going to lead to further weird moments and that was something Remy was keen on avoiding.
Walking back out of the exit, Remy bent down to stretch herself out before coming back up to look over at Kendall. Tilting her head in a questioning look as he started to frown, Remy wasn't entirely sure what the whole captain's dinner thing was about. All she knew was that it was supposed to be a pretty big deal, so she had brought a few dressier things along with her just in case. It wasn't really her forte, but she could deal with it if she had to. "Oh, right, yeah, I guess we probably should," she agreed as they began walking back to their room. She was slightly behind him, so she let him deal with opening the door up and such. "Yeah, it shouldn't take too long, I don't think," she replied with a nod. A lie, definitely. Remy would never admit it, but she took a particularly long time in the shower and could easily have been in there for quite some time.
Moving over to her bag, Remy pulled out all of her toiletries, as well as grabbing the bag itself to hold her clothes in while she got ready. It would be easiest to just get everything done in one quick stay in the bathroom, considering Kendall would need to get in as well. He probably wouldn't appreciate her typical back and forth with the bathroom while he was in there showering. A few moments later, Remy was in the shower and washing her hair out in preparation for the dinner. Though she claimed it would be quick, it took at least half an hour before she was even out of the shower and another half an hour after that to do her makeup, hair and pick out a dress. She may have been an extreme tomboy when it came to her sports, but if there was something important to go to, she was probably one of the girliest girl's you could find. An hour later, all dressed up and ready to go, Remy exited from the bathroom. "All yours," she commented, motioning towards the small room with a nod of her head.
