---cause if you let me, here's what i'll do
i’ll take care of you--- Since getting back to school from the holiday break, Kendall had been even more confused than ever. He thought that perhaps not seeing Remy for a while would get his mind off the girl, but he only desired the girl more. He just wanted to tell her how he felt, but he was terrified. It was intimidating, to say the least. But with Valentine’s day just around the corner, Kendall had the idea that perhaps inviting her to the Ministry cruise would help boost his confidence; and he was hoping there was some slight chance that, even though he invited her as a friend, Remy would realize it was something so much more.
Waiting at the dock, the predetermined meet up location, Kendall debated once again whether or not he should have gotten the girl some flowers. Perhaps it would’ve been too much, but it was Valentine’s Day, and he was supposed to be romantic. Did Remy even like that stuff? Sure, she was more into sports than make-up, but she was still a girl. Maybe she enjoyed being treated like a princess. Frustrated, Kendall shoved his hands into his pockets and kicked at the ground. For now, Kendall was focusing on just enjoying a weekend free from school aboard a luxurious boat, in the company of the girl who drove him crazy, regardless of whether or not she knew that. They were just friends, and Kendall was fully prepared to spend the weekend doing activities that only friends enjoyed.

The Ministry cruise that she was going on obviously meant nothing in terms of romance. It was simply Kendall asking her as well, she supposed a friend, to hang out for the weekend and have a good time. At least, that was sort of the plan. Admittedly, Remmington was a bit nervous about what the weekend would bring. She very rarely went to any sort of event, since she didn't often have friends that she could go with, so the whole thing would be something incredibly different from her usual. However, she had accepted his offer for whatever reason and was now packing up her things for the weekend. To be honest, Remy didn't have much of a clue what the whole weekend was supposed to be about or what the living situation would be or any of that. She figured the less she knew, the less she would feel inclined to just bail on Kendall and fake sick.
After throwing a few sets of clothes into the bag, Remy decided that she should probably get to the port before the ship took off. That probably wouldn't have gone over so well with Kendall. Flooing over to the port, Remy entered out onto the street and started towards the dock that she had agreed to meet him at. It didn't take long for her to pick him out of the crowd and she quickly swerved around the couples to reach him. "Ah, hey," she said as she came to a stop just in front of the boy. It was a bit awkward, she had to admit, but that might just have been because of her general nerves that they were surrounded by people and probably would be for the entire weekend. Her family had never been on a cruise before, so she couldn't really have told you what it was going to be like. Remy rarely took adventures like this and she had to admit, it was a bit strange.

Thankfully, he didn't have to wait much longer, and moved to help her with her bag as soon as Remy arrived. He returned her greeting with a hey of his own and asked how she was doing. He could hear the thud of his heart, which meant that she could most likely hear it too. He honestly tried to put on a calm front, but he was going crazy on the inside.
Grabbing her bags, Kendall gave the girl a warm smile, more than ready to start the weekend festivities. He noticed other couples already boarding the ship, and decided to follow suit. I've already checked us in. Here's your copy of the room key. He handed off the plastic key to the girl, lifted up both bags, and made his way towards the boat, excitement growing with each step.

The pleasantries weren't something Remy really cared to bother with, but since Kendall seemed a little off, she was fine just talking about how she was and asking how he was and all that. Kind of useless chatter, as far as she was concerned, but apparently necessary. She didn't know why he seemed to be nervous, since it was just a weekend away or whatever, but she wasn't going to ask. "Uh, thanks," she mumbled when he took her bags, though she felt rather inclined to protest. She was the kind of girl that liked to do things for herself, mostly since she simply wasn't used to having anyone around that would do anything for her. Perhaps it would be a nice change.
Nodding a bit, Remy took the key and looked it over for a moment before sliding it into the pocket of her shorts. It took her a moment, but she quickly came to realize that he said copy. Copy, as in they were in the same room together. She probably should have known that before hand, but it hadn't occurred to her that she was going to be rooming with Kendall. "Ah, room key. Right, for our room," she nodded, not letting it phase her much. "So, uh, what do you want to do?" she asked, assuming that he would have some sort of plan. He seemed like the sort of guy that had been on numerous vacations before, so she wouldn't be too surprised if he had been on a cruise previously. She certainly hadn't been, so Remy had no idea what there was to do.

---cause if you let me, here's what i'll do
i’ll take care of you--- Through all his excitement, Kendall couldn’t help but notice the hesitation from Remy when he implied that they would be sharing a room. Uh, yeah. They put the couples together, but I’ve already checked it out, and there are two separate beds. Is that okay with you? He bit his lip, worried that it might put her off. It’s not like Kendall planned on doing anything, but he certainly didn’t want to make the weekend awkward for Remy, especially since they technically weren’t a couple. Kendall kept glancing at her, for her reaction, as he pushed the door to their room open. It was a nice suite, with a balcony overlooking the waters. Pretty perfect if had to say so. Well I figured we could lay out by the pool for a bit and then get some food. Unless you had a different plan. It’s up to you. He nodded, this weekend clearly all about her.
Without waiting for her to respond, Kendall unzipped his bag and pulled out his swimming trucks. I’ll be in the closet, you can take the bathroom. And I won’t come out until you knock on the door. He didn’t give her time to resist before dashing into the spacious closet, changing quickly. With not more to do, Kendall simply waited, not thinking about much. He kept himself preoccupied with a potions essay he still needed to write, refusing to think about what could happen for the two of them over the course of the weekend. Hearing the faint knock on the door, Kendall came out, taking every ounce of him not to straight up wolf-whistle in Remy’s face. She was damn hot, and he was finding it increasingly difficult to resist her. Well then, are you ready? Kendall made his way towards the door, not waiting to see if she was coming with.

It was only for a weekend, so it wouldn't be all that bad of a time to stay with Kendall in the same room. Besides, they were just friends, so it would be fairly normal, right? "Yeah, no, that's perfectly fine. As long as you don't snore or whatever," she nodded. It was still a little weird, but she had a feeling that it would end up fine. Kendall was respectful, so she was sure it would be fine. At least, she hoped it would be anyways. Perhaps she was just overthinking the situation. Besides, when they entered into the room and she saw just how big it was, she didn't have any problems at all with it. "Wow, this is perfect, really. And yeah, that's good. I could use some time to tan," she said, nodding her agreement. She had skipped breakfast to make it to the ship on time, so food sounded nice as well. Honestly, just relaxing sounded nice, so maybe this cruise hadn't been such a bad idea after all.
Giving him a quick smile, Remy started to dig through her bag to grab her swimsuit. Carrying it over to the bathroom, she quickly changed out of her current attire and into a red and blue patterned bikini. Also grabbing one of the towels from the bathroom, she tossed it up over her shoulder and left the bathroom to knock on the door and let Kendall know that it was okay to come out. "Yeah, let's get out of here," she agreed, following Kendall out from the room and down towards the poolside. "Do you want to grab food from the buffet first and eat by the pool?" she asked, looking over at him as they started to get closer to their destination. She was pretty hungry, so she wasn't opposed to that plan at all.

---cause if you let me, here's what i'll do
i’ll take care of you--- At her words, Kendall perked up a bit. The boy was always hungry, so he couldn’t really say no to her. Besides he loved cruise food. Yeah, food sounds good. Let’s go. The pair made their way up to the pool deck, Kendall making small talk to one of his friends that he ran into. He piled up the food on his plate, clearly evident that he was starving, and made his way over to a nicely shaded table. Being the gentleman that he was, Kendall pulled out Remy’s chair for her, and then waited until she was settled in to take his first bit. He didn’t know what it was about her that made him act so gentlemanly, but he quite liked it. It was definitely different from what Kendall was used to.
Kendall glanced out the small window to his right, realizing that they had started to move. Holding up his glass, he made a toast to the weekend. Here’s to the official start of our weekend. He smiled, quite excited for the itinerary the Ministry had in store for them, including a formal dinner. Making small talk, Kendall realized that his eyes were bigger than his stomach, and he simply picked at his food. He noticed Remy doing the same thing. If you’re done, do you want to hang out by the pool for a little? Get your tan on? He smiled jokingly.

Relieved that Kendall seemed just as into the idea of eating as she was, Remmington happily followed along to the buffet to start loading up her plate. Of course, loading up for Remy probably looked like nothing more than a snack for the majority of people. She never ate all too much and even just the plate that she had was probably enough to keep her satiated for the remainder of her day. As they walked, Remy kind of hung back to let Kendall speak with his friends. She didn't really know any of them, or anyone else on the ship for that matter, so she mostly just carried on and let the boy socialize for them. Once she had her food, they moved over to a nicely shaded area. Smiling lightly as Kendall pulled out her chair, Remy sat down and started to pick at her food. As hungry as she was, she was still rather full after even just a little bit of it.
Twirling her finger around the glass in front of her for a moment, she lifted it to Kendall's to clink them together before setting it back down. "Yeah, uh, here's to," she agreed, hoping that the weekend would turn out to be a particularly good time. She still had her hesitations, but so far it had been, well, okay. Kendall wasn't nearly as bad as she had originally seemed to assume, that was for sure. Chuckling a bit, Remy nodded her approval to the idea. "Come on, there's a spot right over by the edge," she said, nodding towards two open chairs right near the deeper end of the pool. Getting up from her chair, Remy headed over, still carrying her towel. Laying the towel out over the seat, Remy proceeded to lay down. "Oh, I forgot to put sunscreen on. Dammit," she grumbled, reaching down into her bag. "Err, would you mind?" she asked, holding the lotion out to him with a small tilt to her head. She couldn't very well reach her back all on her own.

---cause if you let me, here's what i'll do
i’ll take care of you--- Frowning slightly, Kendall noticed the apparent lack of food on Remy's plate. He knew the girl was into exercising and eating right, but she was so small and perfect already. He honestly didn't get but he knew better than to bring it up to her. Kendall also knew girls were weird like that, and decided not to push the subject any further.
Grateful that she was on the same page as him, Kendall followed her over to the two empty lounge chairs over by the deep end. The weather was warm, the sky was a shining blue, and Kendall couldn't have thought of a better way to spend the afternoon. Slipping his shades over his eyes, the boy leaned back in the chair, getting quite comfortable. With his stomach now full and the sun shining on him, the boy could feel his eye lids growing heavier. He lazily looked over at Remy when she began to talk, noticing the sunblock she was holding out for him. Err, okay. He reached out for the bottle.
Shaking the bottle, Kendall watched as the sunblock fell onto his hand. He knew what it was for, especially since Remy was holding her back to him, but he honestly couldn't form a thought as to what he was supposed to do. Snapping out of it, Kendall gently placed his hands on her back, smoothly working the sunblock into her skin. He didn't know what it was, but his fingers buzzed with electricity wherever he touched her. Kendall's fingers moved to get the tops of her shoulder, his face so close that he could smell the sweet coconut of her shampoo.
A sharp intake of breath, getting dizzy from her smells, the boy wanted nothing more than to close the distance between them, wanting his lips against the back of her neck. He dropped his hands to his sides and leaned away from her. Okay, you're done. the boy stood up suddenly, forcing himself to get away before he did something he would regret. Without saying a word, Kendall dived into the pool, staying at the bottom until the lack of air screamed for his lungs to get more. Staying under the water for just a few seconds longer, black spots dancing across his vision, Kendall's head finally broke the surface, leaving him gasping for air.

When, for a moment, Kendall didn't respond to her request, she thought that perhaps he hadn't heard her and her head swiveled backward to see what the hell he was doing. However, he had finally jumped into action and taken the sunblock from her, so she contentedly returned to looking back at the pool. She pulled her hair in front of her to make sure he got her entire back, since she knew that she would burn terribly if he didn't. As much as she was outside, she still had the tendency to burn to a crisp if she didn't keep sunblock on. Of course, she was usually in her Quidditch robes or football attire, so she was usually far less at risk. Impatiently tapping her foot, Remy realized it was taking quite a bit of time for Kendall to get started, making her wonder if perhaps the squeeze bottle surpassed his intelligence or something.
Fortunately for Kendall, she soon felt the icy sting of the lotion as he worked it into her back. The coolness of the suntan lotion mixed in with the heat from Kendall's hand, making a rather odd feeling on her back. Remy closed her eyes, just letting Kendall finish up before she let her hair loose again and turned back in his direction. Before she could even utter any words of thanks, however, Kendall had sprinted off towards the pool and dived in without saying anything at all. Weird, but Remy figured he was just ready to get in or whatever. She personally wasn't a big fan of the whole chlorinated water thing, but she'd sit in the hot tub after she tanned for awhile or something, probably. Her eyes scanned the pool, looking to see where Kendall was going to come up, but it was taking quite some time and she almost started to worry. He'd dived in pretty quickly, so it was entirely possible that perhaps he had accidentally smashed his head on the bottom of the pool and was down there dying. That would put a damper on the day.
Frowning as she watched and waited for him to reappear, she let out a slight sigh when his head finally popped back up above the water. He didn't look all too good, probably from the prolonged lack of oxygen, but he seemed to be alive, so she didn't worry far too much about it. "You know, you'll loose brain cells if you keep doing that and quite frankly I don't think you should be wasting the few that you have," she called out. To be honest, she had no reason to be saying things like that, but being mean was far easier than letting him see that she had been worried about him. Remy wasn't supposed to be worried in the least about Kendall's well-being, obviously. "You uh, might want to just come relax up here for a bit," she added, her voice changing to a slightly more mothering and caring tone. Well, as motherly and caring as Remmington could be, at any rate.

---cause if you let me, here's what i'll do

Shaking the water and wet hair out of his eyes, he swam over to the edge, treading the water where he was, and simply looked up at her. You know, it's not very nice going around calling people dumb! He had a grin on his face and splashed her a bit with some water. Kendall almost dove under the water again until Remy changed her tone and suggested he hang out with her.
Quite shocked at her evident concern, Kendall pushed himself up and out of the pool, careful not to get the girl too wet. Dripping, he retrieved the towel on the back of his chair, wrapping it around his torso. He picked up his discard shades, placing them once more over his eyes, and made himself comfortable in the lounge chair. He glanced over at the girl, watching what she was doing, a smile passing on his face without him realizing.

She hadn't exactly called him dumb, but it had the same intent behind it, really. Remy probably should have started being nicer to Kendall, especially considering how nice he had been to her as of late. However, letting down that front was difficult for her to accomplish and so she hadn't yet learned how to just be nice. "Well, whatever," she retorted, rolling her eyes a bit as she spoke in an exaggerated fashion. She was tempted to keep arguing the point, but in a rare show of decency, she simply left it at that and didn't rebuke him any further. Even if it wasn't that big of an accomplishment, for Remy it had to be taken as such.
Settling back down in her seat, Remy leaned her head against the seat and closed her eyes to just let the sun beat down on her for awhile. It was comfortable, despite all the surrounding noise. Typically she was less than fond of noise, but most of it was just mindless chatter surrounding her, so it wasn't too terrible. However, she did have the odd sense that someone was watching her. Opening her eyes with a curious gaze, she caught Kendall looking over at her. "So, uh, what are the plans for the rest of the day?" she asked, pushing her sunglasses up on her face. She didn't have anything in particular that she wanted to do, so it was up to Kendall really.

---cause if you let me, here's what i'll do
i’ll take care of you--- Kendall could feel the warmth spread across his face when she caught him staring at her. Remy was beautiful, but he could never really admit that. Oh, hmm. I don’t know. His response to her question about what activity they should do next. Kendall had been on plenty of cruises before, so it all seemed so boring to him. But this was all so new to Remy, so perhaps he should give the activities on the boat a second go. Snapping his fingers suddenly, Kendall jumped up from his chair. I’ve got it, mini-golfing. It was just about his favorite thing to do on a cruise, especially since he managed to hit many of them into the ocean. Without a second thought, Kendall grabbed hold of Remy’s wrist, practically grabbing the girl along behind him.
Racing towards the back of the boat, where the golf course was, Kendall only slowed down once they got to the check in booth. Slightly relieved that no one else was there playing, Kendall put his and Remy’s name down, and checked out the proper equipment of golf clubs and balls. He handed off a set to the girl who was patiently waiting. Have you ever played before? Surely a girl who was into sports had to have played his all-time favorite game. He mostly liked the game just for the designs and layouts of the course, since he wasn’t very good at it. Leaning against his club, Kendall allowed for Remy to take the first shot.

Though it took Kendall a moment to come to a decision, once he had it in mind it was only a few seconds before he was up and ready to drag her along to their next activity. She would have been happy to stay there and tan longer, but it was probably for the best that they do what they could while they were still on the cruise. "Woah, okay," she commented, having enough time to just quickly grab her towel before Kendall started to whisk her off towards the mini-golfing course. It wasn't something that Remy did often, but she had played once or twice before. It wasn't really her favorite, since she was better off with actual sports, but it wasn't something she was terrible at. If anything, she was probably good enough to play with Kendall.
Taking her set of gear when Kendall handed it over, Remy set the ball down at the start of the first hole. "A few times, yeah. I'm more of a Quidditch and football kind of girl, though," she nodded as she lined up her first shot. It was a fairly easy starting hole, so it came as no surprise to her trained and coordinated muscles that she sunk the first shot. "I guess I'm not so bad, though," she said with a smug look as she sashayed across the turf to pick her ball up out of the hole so that Kendall could make his play. "My uhm, my dad used to like playing a lot," she commented, biting down on her lip as she spoke. Not an easy subject to talk about, but this reminded her a lot of him.

Smiling, he saw the ease it took her to sink the ball with one shot. Good shot. He waited for her to get out of the way before setting up his own shot. Yeah, I kind of figured. But you're okay at this. He proceed to swing his putter, but since he didn't properly align himself, the ball went slightly to the side thus missing the hole. At least better than me. The boy chuckled slightly as he leaned over to retrieve his ball.
In no rush to get to the next hole, Kendall walked lazily next to Remy, occasionally letting his hand brush against herself. He let his face turn upwards towards the sun, feeling the warmth of the afternoon. He could feel the tan already forming, unlike Remy, he didn't burn. Thank you for coming. I didn't actually think you would accept. He addressed the girl without opening his eyes.
