& I don't know how to be fine when i'm not 'cause I don't know how to make a feeling stop The last time Gabby had been on a cruise, she had been six years old and it had been a family vacation. From what she could remember, she'd had a good time but had spent most of it either tailing Justin and Ari or being stuck with her parents. This time it would just be her and Felix and although a part of her was dreading the very idea of spending a valentines cruise with him surrounded by loved up couples, another part of her was quite excited. After all, this time around she'd have a lot more freedom to experience what the very large ship had to offer, with her best friend at her side.
Gazing out towards the ocean, Gabby removed her sunglasses and hooked them onto the front of her t-shirt. She was dressed in a white sleeveless tee, a pair of denim cut off shorts and some ballet flats. Her hair was loose and hung down her back in dark waves, she kept tucking back the loose strands that kept blowing into her face with the breeze but when it started to become annoying she turned and went back into the room she and Felix had only just arrived at ten minutes before.
"I'll take the floor if you want." Gabby said as she re-entered the room from the balcony. How on earth had she missed the large double bed when they'd first arrived? It pretty much dominated the room. A part of her wanted to be angry that there was only one bed, mostly because the thought of sharing a bed with Felix had her cheeks turning a deep shade of red. But she knew that the reason for the double bed was because this was a cruise for couples. Ugh. Gabby couldn't describe how much she hated that word at the moment.

After a pretty long period of difficult days and unfortunate circumstances, Felix was particularly excited for the weekend ahead of him. Not only did he get to spend the weekend on a cruise ship, relaxing and having nothing but the best time ever, he also was going to be spending it with Gabby. They hadn't seen nearly as much of each other as he'd have liked, so this weekend would give him that best friend time that he had so desperately needed lately. They had both arrived to the site of the port fairly early and were able to check in and get onto the ship before most people had even shown up. They had gotten a rather fantastic room and just walking on to the ship at all had awed Felix with the sheer magnitude of everything. Their actual room was no different and he had been just wandering around the small space with wide eyes.
Moving his bag over to the side of the room, Felix kicked it a bit to be sure no one tripped on it before he sat down on the bed. Glancing over at the balcony to watch Gabby, a smile crossed his face. After everything that the two of them had both been through, it was nice to know that they were able to just be there together, no worries at all. His attention returned to Gabby when she came back into the room. "What? Why would you sleep on the floor?" he asked, frowning a bit at her suggestion. He didn't see why they couldn't just share the bed, since it was certainly big enough. "I'm not that fat, so I imagine we'll both fit," he added, a cheeky grin on his face. He didn't particularly feel like arguing over where they would sleep, though, so he left it at that for now and would worry about it later when they actually got around to sleeping.
Leaning back onto the pillow, Felix stretched out for a moment before popping back up into a sitting position. Now that they had settled their things into the room, Felix was ready to get out onto the ship and see what there was to do. "So, what do you want to do?" he asked, looking over at Gabby with an excited grin. "This weekend, your wish is my command." Gabby deserved a weekend where she had to worry about absolutely nothing and Felix wanted to do whatever he could to make it happen. If that meant bringing her food and sitting through stage shows or something, than Felix was happy to do just that. He didn't have anything in particular he wanted to do, so whatever Gabby wanted, he was up for.

"Because- -" she stopped herself short. What could she say without completely embarrassing herself? Why the hell couldn't she come up with a good enough excuse right now? She might have been a ravenclaw but her brain definitely failed when it came down to coming up with reasons to get out of sharing a bed with your best friend who you also happen to be crushing on. Ugh. This wouldn't do. Her stupid, stupid feelings were going to ruin this weekend. All she wanted to do was have a good time with her best friend, no unwanted feelings around. "I don't know, you look like you've put on some weight there, Wood." she teased and cocked her head to the right a little. "You should definietly lay off the Cauldron cakes." Banter, sarcasm. That was normal right? Gabby thought so, she could already feel herself relaxing.
Moving over to the bed, Gabby propped herself down on the edge and leaned over to grab the leaflet that was sat on the bedside table. It was a programme that listed the events the Cruise had on offer this weekend. It was no suprise that most of them were Valentines themed. "Let's see.." she started with a slow drawl and moved to the top center of the bed so that Felix could see the programme too. "We could go - oh wow, a horse and cart carraige ride under the stars?" Gabby gaped, very much in shock, though she shouldn't have been really. This ship was a ship for wizards after all, pretty much anything was possible. "Couples massage, couples dinner, golf, romeo and juliet - theatre.." Gabby trailed off and then eventually dropped the leaflet in front of Felix, exasperated. "How about we start at the pool? I haven't been swimming in ages. Unless paddling in the Prefects bathroom counts. Which I don't think it does." She shuffled up off of the bed and headed for her large duffle bag. Pulling out a towel and the polka dot bikini Halle had forced her to take, Gabby walked across the room to the en-suite bathroom. "I'll be a minute!" she chirped before closing the door with a quiet click.

Giving Gabby a curious expression, Felix figured it was just some weird Gabby quirk that she was insisting on the floor, as opposed to just sharing the bed together. Letting it go, Felix simply furrowed his eyebrows in playful irritation. "The cauldron cakes? I don't think I've even seen a cauldron cake since we became friends. They don't last long," he retorted with a bit of a laugh. Gabby was much more of a sweets eater than he was, which was a point that he could usually poke fun at her about. "I'm in top shape, I'd say," he added with a solemn nod. Felix was definitely a bit obsessive when it came to his exercising and such, but he didn't see that as a bad thing. It kept him healthy and looking good, so that seemed like a particularly beneficial outcome. Scooting over, Felix moved closer to Gabby so that he could read over the schedule with her.
There was plenty going on, though a good majority of the activities were more couples related. Nothing said they couldn't eventually do some of that, though, since it could still be fun. However, just lounging around by the pool sounded just as nice and Felix eagerly nodded his approval. "That sounds good to me. I could use some sun," he replied. Felix was already in his swimming trunks, since it had just seemed like cruise attire. Letting Gabby head into the bathroom to change into her swimsuit, Felix rustled around in his bag to find his sunscreen. Tugging his shirt off over his head, Felix tossed it over to the bed and started to apply the sunscreen to his chest. "Hey, Gabs, did you bring sunscreen in there with you, or do you need some?" he asked, grabbing another bottle of it from his bag, just in case she needed some as well.

Gabby glared at Felix when he made the Cauldron cake dig but it was completely defeated by the playful smirk pulling at her lips. It was no secret that Gabby was a sweet fanatic. She'd probably have to calm down on the sweet munching one, at least if she wanted to stay trim. But right now her metabolism seemed to be high enough for her to eat large amounts of just whatever she wanted. "You're alright." Gabby commented when Felix commented on his physique, the same playful smile on her face.
When Felix agreed to head down to the pool, Gabby hurried into the bathroom to change into her swimming gear. Closing the door with a soft click, Gabby quickly went about changing into her bikini. When that was done she spent two long minutes examing herself in said bikini. A frown marred her face as she turned this way and that, scrutinizing each flaw she saw with a scowl and a huff. She looked like a tree branch with twigs for arms and legs. Why couldn't she have her sisters fuller, sexier figure? Sometimes life just wasn't fair. When Felix's voice echoed through the door, Gabby snapped back to reality and she quickly wrapped her towel around herself before heading back into the room.
"Yeah, I could do with.. some.. sunscreen..-" Gabby trailed off, her eyes flicking about the room as she tried to force down the red in her cheeks. It wasn't like she'd never seen Felix shirtless before but the sight still made her blush a little. She absoloutely hated it because Gabby felt like she was just another of the dim witted fan girls in the Felixians. Maybe she was. "Suncreen. Yes. Great. Thanks." Quickly taking the bottle from his grasp, Gabby spun on her heel and disappeared back into the bathroom. Five minutes later and she re-emerged, her bikini hidden beneath her denim cut-offs and shirt. Walking around the ship in only a bikini wasn't something she was all that comfortable with. "Ready?" she asked and positioned her sunglasses on the top of her head.

Alright was not a word that Felix would accept as a description of himself. He was very obviously attractive and anyone could see that just by looking at him, which was something that he was more than okay with telling anyone willing to listen. "And by alright you mean something more along the lines of say, stellar, amazing, gorgeous and fabulous," Felix corrected with a swift nod. He was sure that she was just joking, since obviously no one could consider him just alright. As his best friend, she was required to think the best of him. At least, that was Felix's frame of mind anyways. Perhaps he was expecting too much from the girl.
The longer Gabby took in the bathroom, the more ready Felix was to head over to the pool and just jump in. It wasn't often that he got to go swimming, but it was definitely something he loved. Goofing around in the water and having a good time was something he missed. His eyes flicked up as she came back into the room, resting on her for a moment before quickly averting back to the sunscreen. "Right, yeah, well, there you are than," he said as she took one of the bottles from him and quickly returned to the bathroom. Weird, since it probably would have been easier for her to just do it out there so Felix could help make sure it got on her back, but whatever. Felix was used to Gabby's quirks by now and tended to not question most of the things that she did. Usually. Sort of.
Bouncing back and forth on the heel of his foot, Felix waited until Gabby was back out into the room before heading over to the door. "I was ready twenty minutes ago, but someone had to go change in the bathroom and take an hour," Felix replied with a teasing smile. Opening up the door, he held it for Gabby and waited until they were both out before he let the door close behind them. "I'm going to assume you know where we're going, since I don't really know where anything is, to be honest," Felix commented as he started to walk off towards the elevator. He was sure Gabby had a map or at least had the map of the ship memorized in her head, else they'd probably be wandering around quite a bit.

stellar, amazing, gorgeous, fabulous, funny, kind, caring, brilliant.. there were a hundred and one things Gabby could add to that list but instead she agreed with a roll of her eyes and an amused snort. As much as she wanted to tell Felix just how stellar, amazing and gorgeous she actually thought he was, she couldn't. Besides, he hardly needed the ego boost. In the bathroom, getting the suncream on was a struggle when it came down to applying it on her back. She managed the sides but couldn't quite reach the centre. After a minute or two she gave up and headed back into the room where Felix was waiting.
"I'm a girl." Gabby replied with a shrug as if that statement alone explained just why she'd taken so long. Okay, so she wasn't exactly a girly-girl who took forever doing her hair and makeup. (She didn't even wear makeup) but that didn't mean she didn't like to take her time to make sure she looked nice or at least half decent. "Thanks." she said, passing through the door when Felix held it open, going on when he spoke again. "Yeah, I know where we're going." Of course she'd poured over the small booklet she'd picked up detailing everything about the ship. She'd read up about each level of the ship and knew everything from where the best restaurants were right down to which shop sold the best sweets.
"Do you think we'll run into anyone we know?" Gabby asked idly, as she led Felix down a long corridor towards an elevator. Apart from a few classmates who she'd talked with about coming to the event, Gabby didn't know anyone else who might be here, other than her sister of course. For a moment, she wandered what Ari and her date were up to and then realized that she probably didn't want to know and shook it from her head. It didn't take long to reach the pool. It was suprisingly quiet, but people were probably exploring the ship so it wasn't too much of a suprise.
Walking over to a white lounger, Gabby placed her towel down, along with the small bag she'd brought along, and sat on the edge, glancing around with curiosity. It was a nice area and she was actually kind of glad it was pretty quiet for the moment. Gabby didn't think there was anything worse than an over crowded pool. Looking from the water and then to Felix, a slow and playful grin fell across her lips. Taking off her sunglasses she dropped them onto her towel and then began to kick off her flats whilst unbuttoning her shorts. "Race you to the water?" she said a little breathlessly, "One. . ." she counted down, throwing her shirt down next to her discarded shorts. "Two. ." the number had barely slipped from her mouth before she ran for the water, shouting a loud three! back over her shoulder, a silly grin on her face.

Even though she didn't exactly agree to what he said, Felix took Gabby's eyeroll to mean that she entirely agreed with him and more. Of course, he assumed such things of everyone, but that was just how Felix was. It wasn't his fault that he had been born with a huge ego and he generally blamed his father for it. Though, sometimes he wondered if he should just blame God for making him the most perfect man alive. Pacing about waiting for Gabby to come out from the bathroom, Felix was quite excited about the adventures they would have for the rest of the weekend. There was probably plenty in store for the two of them and Felix was ready to tackle whatever the weekend would bring. It was relaxing to know that for two days they had no responsibility and could just make the most of what they were given.
Narrowing his eyes a bit at Gabby's excuse, Felix shrugged his shoulders a bit in response. True, Gabby was a girl, but she wasn't the sort of girl that spent hours in the bathroom getting ready. At least, he was pretty sure that she wasn't. "You're right, guess I forgot about that one," he replied, sticking his tongue out at her as they exited the room. He was friends enough with Gabby that he didn't hesitate anymore to poke fun at her and that was exactly how he liked to keep it. It was easy being friends with Gabby and that was all he could really ask for from someone. As he had expected, Gabby probably knew every small detail about the ship they were currently on. From the actually important information to the tiny useless details, he was sure that Gabby would be able to tell him anything he could possibly want to know.
It was entirely possible that they run into someone that they know, which Felix wouldn't entirely have minded. Well, as long as it was someone that he actually liked, that is. "Maybe. Isn't your sister supposed to be here or something?" he asked, looking over at her with a questioning gaze. As far as he knew, none of his siblings were going to be there. Topher was single, he was pretty sure, and Tag was definitely single. Though, he couldn't have told you that with any certainty, he was really just assuming. Then, of course, Ellie would never be on something like a couple's cruise. Felix most definitely would have known about that one and stopped it before it could happen. No way would he let his baby sister stay in a room with a boy for an entire weekend. Absolutely not.
Reaching the pool, which was actually till pretty deserted, Felix grinned excitedly as they walked over to set down their things. Felix hadn't brought much with him aside from a towel, which he haphazardly threw on top of Gabby's things. Kicking his feet slightly, Felix pushed his sandals down underneath the chair and looked over at Gabby. "You're so on," he agreed, tensing up and getting ready to run as soon as she said go. However, as soon as he saw that Gabby had already taken off and was a few feet in front of him, Felix let out a burst of speed and sprinted at her. It wasn't hard for him to quickly catch up, at which point he snatched her off from the ground and jumped, launching both of them into the water with a laugh. Resurfacing a few seconds later, he looked over at Gabby with a triumphant grin. "The water feels good," he commented with a cheeky smile still on his face.

"Yup." Gabby chimed when Felix asked if Ari was on the ship too. "She's here with another quidditch player, Evanna Dobrev, I think." she finished with a frown. Fraternizing with the enemy, typical of her sister. Just because Gabby had less skill than a gremlin when it came down to Quidditch didn't mean that she wasn't a complete nut over the sport. Ari being on a date with a rival team player just wouldn't do. Mostly because Gabby wasn't sure she quite trusted this Evanna woman. Gabby couldn't explain it entirely, her distrust of the other woman, but she didn't really want to think on it right now anyway, so she pushed the thought to the back of her mind.
Down at the pool, after discarding her clothes, Gabby had managed to sprint a good few paces ahead of Felix before he caught up with her. A squeal slipped from her lips and her stomach did a flurry of somersaults when a pair of arms lifted her from the ground, sending her sailing into the pool. A few moments passed before Gabby's head broke the waters surface. Gasping for air, she sputtered and laughed, narrowing her eyes half heartedly at the cheeky grin on Felix's lips. "Oh yeah, feels wonderful." she said, splashing a good amount of it in his face. "Still feel good?" she questioned with a grin of her own and then disappeared beneath the surface again before Felix could even attempt to splash her back. The water really did feel good. It was the perfect temperature and felt amazing against her skin. It had been so long since the last time she'd been swimming that Gabby didn't think she'd want to leave the pool for a good while.

Felix nodded a bit when Gabby answered his question, though he was slightly confused by the response. He knew Ari was pretty, well, loose about things, but he couldn't imagine her being romantically involved with the enemy. That would be like him dating Remy or something and that just wasn't okay. "Isn't she on a different team, though?" Felix asked, frowning slightly. His parents had both played for Puddlemere back in the day, so anything that could complicate the team's chances generally bothered him at least a bit. "I mean, I guess I can't blame her though. Dobrev is pretty hot." Felix, of course, knew most of the famous professional Quidditch players, though he tended to know the women a whole lot more than the men for some reason.
As the two of them surfaced up from the water of the pool, Felix crinkled his nose up when he felt the water splashing into his face. It was deserved, yes, but that didn't make it any more pleasant. "Oh, it still feels great," he replied, sticking his tongue out at Gabby as she went back under the water. Felix had to admit that it felt pretty relaxing there in the water and he was more than happy to just float around for awhile. Powering himself through the water with a few quick strokes, Felix made his way to the shallow end of the water. Sitting himself down on the steps, Felix lounged back with his head on the edge in a comfortable position. "Hey, Gabs, I forgot to ask, but did you want to go to the Captain's dinner thing tonight? It's a pretty big deal and everyone dresses up and gets their photos taken together," he asked, bringing his head up slightly to catch her eyes as he spoke.

"Yeah, scandalous, I know." Gabby mocked a scoff, glad that Felix understood the obvious betrayl she felt towards Ari and her traitorous ways. Okay so that was a little O.T.T but Gabby still thought it was strange. Dobrev was probably trying to sneak her way into Ari's defences so she could get Puddlemere's gameplays or something equally sneaky. Gabby shook her head, she was letting her imagination get away with her. It wasn't like this Evanna was a spy or anything. "You think everyone's hot." Gabby snorted with a roll of her eyes. This was the hardest thing about having a crush on your male bestfriend. Having to listen to him go on about hot women and see him flirt with other girls. It sucked. A lot. But in a way, Gabby was sort of used to it. It was just the way he was. Flawed, yes, but Gabby wouldn't change him for the world.
After a minute of underwater swimming, Gabby resurfaced, taking another big gulp of air. She wiped at her face and pushed back her wet hair and then swam over to where Felix had taken a seat at the shallow end. "Sure. That sounds... nice." Nice and horribly romantic. Gabby forced a smile to her lips and then moved to mimic Felix's current position; lounging back with her head on the side. "Uh, I don't think I have anything fancy to wear though." she frowned and then added, "You think they'll be okay with flip flops, a bikini and some shorts?" she turned her head to glance at Felix. "I think I'd be able to pull it off. Think it's a pretty swanky look myself." she talked on, her face completely serious.. and then grinned to show that she was just kidding. Maybe she could hunt Ari down and steal one of her dresses. Presuming her sister had packed something nice. Or maybe she could go to one of the many clothing boutique's on the ship and buy something new.
