There was nothing that Jace hated more than kids. If he could live the rest of his life without seeing another child, he would absolutely do just that. However, whenever he was walking over to the Hog's Head, he had to pass by the stupid daycare center and hear all the kids screaming and being obnoxious. Usually, he could tolerate it, but when they came out of the place and felt the need to talk to him, he couldn't. Jace wasn't friendly under any circumstances, it seemed, so when a small child came over and started up some stupid, childlike conversation, Jace was in even worse of a mood. Scowling at the kid, he hoped that just by being unfriendly he could get it to leave him alone so he could just go get a drink. However, the kid didn't seem to care. "Get the fuck out of here kid," he snarled, lightly shoving the kid's shoulder to push him away. Jace really needed to find a new way to the Hog's Head. When the kid just leeched back to his side, Jace heaved out a sigh and picked the stupid thing up. Stomping over towards the daycare center, he threw the door open and tossed the kid inside. "This shit yours?" he asked with a frown.

The day was at it best, Lucy was at her job that she loved, and she was great with kids to begin with. Not having a mother or father to raise her, she had to raise herself and her brother, which was a job on its own. She had no choice anyways. With the kids yelling and screaming, soiling themselves, eating everything but missing their mouths, and Lucy having only two hands she couldn't keep an eye on all thirty of the children she had to look after. Although, with half the kids asleep she was able to count heads for a while, one was missing. Having a minor heart attack, Lucy tried to find the missing child. Thankfully, but unlucky as well, Jace, her most irritating half bother happen to have found the kid. Feeling thankful, it soon subsided when Jace forcefully tossed the kid into the daycare. With tears in the child's eyes, Lucy looked up at Jace with a unpleasant look. "Yes this child is mine, kind of," she responded, bitterly, picking the boy up into an embarrassing hug. "What brings you here ?" Lucy asked, not exactly caring.

Of course, of all the people that he could have barged in on working in the daycare, it had to be Lucy. Jace wasn't fond of any of his siblings, but Lucy on particular seemed to grate on his nerves. She was a Hufflepuff, for one, and she seemed to think that she could fix the world with happiness, for two. Jace just thought she was stupid. "This dumbass kid was outside bothering me. Shouldn't you make sure they don't escape and give people rabies or some shit?" he asked with a disgruntled huff. There wasn't really any reason for his being so unpleasant, but that was just how Jace always was. He had kind of always been like that and nothing seemed to change him. At least no one could claim that he wasn't consistent. Turning to leave, Jace was confronted, once again, with the small child clinging on to his leg. "Tell it that I'm not it's brother, for fuck's sake," he cursed, shaking his leg a bit to try to get the kid off.

Lucy tried to hold back her feelings, she couldn't help not liking Jace, he seemed to much like her father. From what she heard, Jace seemed to be in comparison, and she couldn't see why he had to be this way, but she hoped to changed that. "Could you please watch your language, these are children no you trucker mouth, Slythering friends." With so much to do Lucy couldn't be bothered with Jace, but she still had hopes for him, and being the complete opposite of him she wasn't going to get through to him that easily. "I'm sorry he got, truely, but I have so many kid to look after I can't keep up with them all," she explained, trying to get him to understand, but he obviously wouldn't. Strangely the kid had slipped out of Lucy grasp, and started back at Jace. She couldn't make out why the child had chosen to bond with Jace of all people, but it was kind of sweet. "Common," Lucy tried to pry the boy off of Jace's leg, "He's not your brother," she stated struggling to get him off,'he's mine," he grunted finally pulling him off. Looking up at Jace, she slowly stood up straight. "There".

As if Jace would actually listen to a damn thing Lucy said. She was the dumbass causing problems in his day and he sure as hell didn't appreciate it. "Nope, I don't really give a fuck. I'll say whatever the hell I want," Jace scoffed, shooting the kids another scowl as he spoke. He was mostly just doing it to be an ass now, but he honestly didn't care at all. "Well, you suck ass at your job. I'm going to talk to your boss and let her know that she should fire you," he said with a quick nod. Technically, letting a kid escape from the building to wander the streets was a pretty serious mistake and Jace certainly could word it so it sounded far, far worse. Getting Lucy fired would be entertaining, besides. Crinkling his nose in disgust when she finally tore the kid away from him, Jace bent down to brush off his pants, as if they now had some sort of small child disease on them. "When does your boss get back in?" he asked, raising an eyebrow in question. He wasn't above hanging around the place and causing trouble until the lady came in so that he could lodge a complaint against Lucy and her failures.

Of course Jace wouldn't listen, especially to Lucy. Again she wouldn't bother with enabling his actions by further speaking to him, but she wasn't going to give in so easily. Rolling her at Jace, she knew he wouldn't listen to her. "I don't understand why you hate me so much, Jace," she whispered, looking down towards the kids she took care, it somewhat reminded her of her brother when he as that young. Previously Lucy had told Jace to stay away from her brother, he didn't seem to care, which showed Lucy that just like her father Jace would just abandon them both. She protecting her bother more than she was protecting herself, she rather be hurt than him. Lucy eyes shot up as her job was being threatened. She wasn't worried though. Who'd believe Jace over sweet, responsible, Lucy? "She won't be back until later," she told him. "But if you aren't picking up, or dropping a child off, I suggest you leave," Lucy pointed to the exit while telling him to leave. She wasn't going to stand there and let Jace talk to her the way he was, and if he didn't care so much he wouldn't mind leaving. So Lucy carried on, not minding if her half-brother left or not, and began to sing to a hand full of them the song she sung quite often to her brother. It had a pretty high success rate at getting children to sleep, and her singing voice wasn't too bad either.

There wasn't really a reason for Jace to hate her and really, he wasn't sure he would classify it as hatred. He simply just didn't like anyone at all and she fell under the category of somebody, so she got treated like everyone else that Jace knew. Admittedly, he probably was harder on his siblings than anyone else, but that was simply because he was bitter about everything and they made it all the more difficult to accept. "Because. You're stupid," he replied with a nod. A typical Jace answer that said absolutely nothing about how he really felt. His general response to anything that bothered him often contained the word "stupid." Later wasn't quite what he wanted to hear, but he wasn't about to let Lucy win by leaving when she asked. Instead, Jace moved over to a more comfortable location and planted himself on the floor, leaning his back against the wall. He didn't mind sitting there and causing trouble, not at all. "What the fuck are you even singing? That song is stupid as hell and your signing voice is shit," he pointed out, tossing in as many curse words as he found fitting, just to irritate her further.

Bringing Lucy down did take a lot, and Jace wasn't that special to be the one to do it. Lucy was just confused by his actions, he wasn't really making sense of all his anger, and she couldn't put her finger on the reason. Possibly, he was just raised a bitter, but she still questioned his attitude. Lucy didn't give him any reason to verbally abuse her, or make her life harder than it already was, but all Lucy could think to do was help him. She was good that way, helping and all. She enjoyed the comfort of making someones day, giving it little light to it's dark areas. Jace most likely had plenty, the darkness seemed to follow this one, but Lucy wanted to brighten him up. Well, try to. "I'm pretty sure I'm slightly more intelligent, than you assume," she reassured him. She was a bright kid, always studying, always responsible, and always thinking of school before all. Well, under her brother, of course.
Rolling her eyes at Jace, she looked up from singing. "I assume nobody sung you to sleep as a child?" she assumed, seeing it was an obvious lullaby. Lightly placing the child on the floor, supporting his head with a pillow, and placing one of the many blankets she had laying around on him. She managed to get most of the children to sleep, and the reast to calm down so that she could keep those sleeping kids, a sleep. Going back to Jace, Lucy just stood there, not knowing what to think of him. "I don't understand you Jace. You're so bitter, and angry. Rude, and selfish. And I hope you don't wonder why I told you to stay way from Wolf." She didn't regret telling him to stay away, if didn't listen to her, she was going to find a way to make him. Lucy didn't want Wolf to catch Jace's bitterness, and all those other things she called him. She didn't want Jace to be that way either. Although just a half brother, he was family, and she cared for family. Even Jace.
Feeling sick to her stomach Lucy held on to it. She had felt hints of sickness all day. It wasn't unusual, she felt like this every month, same time Wolf started his transformation process. Lucy never transformed though, so she thinks. Her only secret she had, was the one sh didn't know herself. Lucy always believed she got sick from watching her brother get sick, and she hated the fact that her brother had to go through it 'alone'. She wasn't really good at piecing together the obvious. Surely she was a were, but she never could remember any of those days, and she always managed to wake up in her own bed. She wondered how Jace felt during these times, but he seemed too calm, and well. She guessed he was use to it. This was the only thing she applauded him for. Which was great for if him, if he ever cared.
Having managed to get through her first round of pain, it was on to planning her 'fixing' of Jace. it wasn't going ot be easy, and she didn't mind the challenge of changing someone to a happy go lucky, such as herself. But, Lucy believed she met her match. She got grumpy Scott to be happy once more, so she felt good with her attempts, but Scott wasn't much a challenge.

Jace doubted that Lucy was all that smart, though it wasn't like he was a particularly good judge of intelligence, of course. However, Jace did what he wanted and if he wanted to insult Lucy and call her stupid, he would. Besides, she was a Hufflepuff and you had to be pretty dumb to get sorted into that house. At least, that was Jace's opinion on the matter anyways. He wasn't really very involved with any sort of house wars or what have you, but he did have a natural tendency to look down on anyone that was from Hufflepuff. Most people probably did, though,so he didn't feel like it was really his doing. "Whatever. You're still stupid," he grumbled, not about to give that fact up. Lucy could say what she wanted, but there wasn't much that anyone could do to change Jace's mind once he had decided something.
Of all the things that Lucy could have said, bringing up his childhood was the worst. His childhood had been rough and she should have known not to mention it unless she was just looking to bring out Jace's even more angry side. Though he didn't change every full moon like a typical werewolf would, he still showed signs of the gene's influence, especially when it came to his tendency to get angry. "Shut the fuck up," was all he said, a threatening tone to his voice and daggers in his eyes. He didn't want to talk about growing up and the shit that he had gone through and here Lucy was, throwing things around like it was nothing. Everyone knew that Jace didn't have much in the way of parents growing up and that the foster homes he'd bounced around in for most of his time weren't exactly all too loving, that much wasn't a secret.
The fact that she simply continued to push him was evidence enough in his mind that she was an idiot. People knew when it was best to just leave him alone, since he often got into his moods and nothing they could say would make it any better. That was just how Jace was and nothing Lucy could do was going to fix that. "I'm going to do whatever the hell I want. If I want to talk to Wolf, I will. You damn sure can't stop be from that," Jace countered, getting up from where he was sitting to start pacing across the room. He didn't care that there were little kids there and that his angry pacing was starting to wake a number of them up. On top of that, his kicking toys every which way when they came into his path wasn't helping keep the ruckus down to a minimum either. "And who the fuck are you to try to tell me what to do?" he added, a sour look on his face. She had no authority over him and the sooner she realized that, the better.
