When Erinn heard that Ellie had been given control of the flag, she had been pretty disappointed. In fact, she was pretty sure that she'd never been so disappointed in her life. However, that lasted all of ten minutes before she was at Ellie's side and ready to guard the flag with her life. This was clearly a very serious task and no one else was nearly as suited for it as Erinn. Knowing full well that the castle was a dangerous place, Erinn had come up with the brilliant idea to floo them somewhere else for a few days to hide Ellie and the flag. Unfortunately, Erinn had made a bit of a mistake and had flooed them, well, somewhere. She honestly didn't know where they were, which was unfortunate, but she was sure they could find an airport or something and catch a flight to another country. "Ellie, where the hell is the airport?" she asked with a grumpy frown. They'd been walking on the same road for a good twenty minutes at that point and Erinn had seen nothing to indicate the presence of an airport anywhere. This was exactly the sort of situation that the girl landed herself in on a daily basis.

The fact that she had been given the flag still felt very new to Ellie. She didn't think anyone in Gryffindor trusted her that much, especially piled on top of the natural competition of her house. Erinn had jumped on as her "bodyguard" as soon as she had learned Ellie possessed the flag, and Ellie thought it was hilarious. As long as she didn't do anything too crazy. Which she had. They turned out in some random location in the middle of who knows where, lost, and unable to find a damn airport. "I don't know, Erinn. Do you know where we even are?" Ellie asked, because she was certain she didn't. She was getting sick and tired of this random road, but there was no sign of civilization anywhere. She sighed, looking down at her shoes as she walked.

At that point, Erinn really didn't know what the hell they were going to do. Being lost wasn't fun, especially when you had no idea where you were lost. At the very least, she was confident that no one else would be able to find them and the flag, which would keep it safe. "No Ellie, I do not. But, I'm pretty sure we're not in London!" she commented with an excited nod. That was a pretty good start. As they continued to walk, Erinn spotted something up in the distance that appeared to be a building. "Hey, Ellie, look, look Ellie! I think we found a something!" A something, yes Erinn, that's helpful.

There was at least a minute positive note to their being lost, and that was the lack of crazy Slytherins hunting after them. Ellie subtly looked over her shoulder, just to be safe, and then back to Erinn. She knew she was being ridiculous, but Ellie felt like she held an entire galaxy's fate in her hands. "Your sense of deduction is astounding, Err," she said, laughing. She could see that they weren't in any form of major city- not yet, at least- and that's where all of the airports were. Ellie jumped at Erinn's cry, and looked after what she was talking about. A building seemed like a start. "I guess we should head over to it? It could leave to a bigger area, or some form of motorway?" Ellie had no idea if it would help or not, but it was worth the shot.

Erinn was in complete agreement that she was pretty astounding. Obviously it took quite a lot of skill to figure out where they were and the fact that she knew they weren't in London was pretty impressive. Hopping excitedly at their discovery of, well, something, Erinn had pretty much taken off towards it without listening much to what Ellie was saying. All things considered, it was probably not a good idea to let Erinn take the lead in anything, but Erinn begged to differ. Clearly Ellie was sad and helpless and needed her to make all the decisions. The building they had spotted appeared to be a small house with a car out front. Erinn's first thought was to steal the car, but she quickly shut that plan down upon the realization that she had no idea how to hotwire a car. Bumbling up to the front door, Erinn knocked loudly until an older man came out with an irritated scowl. "Hello, sir. We lost the airport," Erinn announced, rather proudly.

Ellie knew that Erinn wasn't fully paying attention, and playfully rolled her eyes as Erinn took off towards the house, Ellie on her heels. As Erinn walked up to the house, Ellie watched her, wondering if she was actually going to knock, or find some indication of where they were. Then Erinn knocked on the door, which truthfully didn't surprise Ellie, but she hoped that where they were at least spoke English, or this interaction was going to be incredibly awkward. The old man that opened the door looked less than pleased to see them standing at his doorstep. After Erinn spoke, Ellie sighed and looked at the man. "What she means, sir, is we're trying to find the airport, do you think you could help us?" Ellie asked, playing with her hands.

Standing up on her tippy toes, Erinn rolled back and forth on her feet, excitedly waiting to see what the man had to say to her. Fortunately for the both of them, Ellie had a tad more sense than Erinn did and rephrased her question to be something the average person could comprehend. The man continued to look at them with a less than pleasant scowl, clearly not understanding what they were saying anyway. The man responded by speaking, well, some language, which Erinn had no idea what to say to. "Ellie, I got this, don't worry," she nodded, assuming Ellie would obviously be the one to freak out first. Jumping up and down a bit, Erinn stretched out her arm and zoomed around in a circle to signify airport before giving him a questioning gaze. The man simply said something else she couldn't understand and gave her a judgmental look.

Ellie's eyes widened as the man scowled at them, which seemed oddly out of place next to Erinn rocking back and forth like a five year old. As soon as he started speaking, she knew that this could be bad, as they were already very, very lost. She at least recognized the language to be French, but she had no idea what he was saying. Ellie looked as Erinn as she spoke to her, and as soon as she started moving, the corners of her mouth shot down. Normally, this would be hilarious, but they were on some random old man's porch in the middle of what she hoped to be France and not somewhere random in Africa or something. "Erinn," she said, watching the girl hop around. "Erinn! Stop. No bueno. At least let me try?" She knew very, very minimal French, just what their mum had taught them as kids, but she hoped that it could get them out of this situation. "Monsieur," she said, looking up at the man. This was a good start. "Er, ou est l'aeroport?" Her accent was horrendous and she wasn't even sure that he could understand her. He roughly jutted his index finger in the direction they were headed originally, and shut his door. Ellie sighed, and grabbed Erinn's arm as she turned around. "Let's head that way and try to find someone who speaks English."

When Ellie yelled at her to stop, Erinn looked over at her with a rather glum expression. She was just trying to help and she thought her impression of an airplane was pretty damn good. If anything, it was more help than Ellie just standing there yelling at her in Japanese or whatever language that was. However, Ellie seemed to be pretty determined to have a turn at charades, so Erinn stepped back and let the other girl take charge for the time being. Apparently Ellie was able to respond to the man and a few moments later they at least had a a direction, which was a plus. That was probably where the airport was. Trailing along after Ellie, Erinn gave a last wave to their new friend through the window as they started to walk towards the airport. "I'm impressed you can speak Japanese. Where'd you learn that?" she asked as they reached the road. It was a long road and Erinn rather doubted anyone on it spoke English, but one could always hope.

As they started their walk down the man's driveway and to the road, Ellie laughed at Erinn's wave. Ellie turned around to see if the man was still paying attention, but she only saw closed curtains. "Erinn, that was French," she said, looking out for cars once they hit the road. Of course there wouldn't be any, they were in the middle of nowhere. "But close enough. And Mum can speak it a bit, so she taught us some when we were little. All I really remember how to say is 'My name is Ellie.' I completely guessed the word for airport, but I guess it was right." She shrugged, hoping that the word had been close and they were headed in the correct direction.

Obviously Erinn couldn't be faulted for not knowing the difference between various foreign languages. The only language that she was even sightly capable of speaking was English and even that sometimes didn't make sense when coming out of her mouth. "Oh, well, right. That's good. French. I'm sure we're headed towards the airport, since I mean, my charade was flawless," Erinn responded with a grin, putting her arms out and zooming around once again. She was aware that she probably looked like a complete doofus, but that was really just how she always acted and therefore didn't bother her in the least. The longer they walked, the more Erinn was steadily losing hope that they would ever make it out of there alive. Fortunately for the small, helpless child, a few seconds later she heard a car coming up from behind them. Running out into the middle of the road, Erinn jumped up and down excitedly, hoping the car would stop for them and not just run her over.

Ellie sighed, chucking, at her friend. "Of course it was, babes, she said, looking at Erinn. "Just don't do it anymore while we're here, the French don't particularly like charades." At least the old, crotchety ones didn't. Ellie laughed at Erinn zooming around, even adding in her own airplane-ish sound effects between laughs. She gasped, however, as Erinn jutted out into the road in front of the car. Luckily, the car slowed, and Ellie let out a breath, as it turned around Erinn. It came to a stop in front of them, and Ellie could see a woman in the passenger seat rolling down the window. She repeated the phrase she had asked the old man, and she pointed in the same direction they were heading, and drove off. "Well. Erm. Merci?" Ellie asked as they drove away. She crossed her arms as her and Erinn walked off again.

Erinn didn't understand at all how there could possibly be people that don't like charades, but if Ellie said it, than it was probably true. Sort of. She liked to think that Ellie wouldn't lie to her, anyway. As the car rolled to a stop, Erinn let out one last excited hop before moving around towards Ellie and hoping that the lady could either give them directions or perhaps even a ride to the airport. She didn't look particularly friendly, though, so Erinn had a feeling they probably weren't getting anywhere any faster. However, she did confirm that they were headed in the right direction, which was a plus. "Well, at least we're like, going the right way. How far could an airport be anyway?" she asked with a hopeful smile, though she was well aware that it could easily be hours before they got anywhere. Padding along down the road, a few more cars passed by, but Erinn made no moves to jump out in front of any more of them. "Ellie, Ellie I'm bored." This was going to be a very long trip for the both of them.

Watching the car drive away, Ellie felt confused. If people knew the direction of the airport, they couldn't be too far. "I don't know, Err. We must be close." They walked for a few minutes in silence, before Erinn spoke up. "Me too. And I have to pee. I hope we get there soon. Or at least to a building." She was seriously sick of walking, and hoped that they could find somewhere to at least chill out, even if it wasn't an actual airport. She didn't want to have to pee in a bush. Looking ahead, Ellie saw a sign a few hundred feet in front of them. "Erinn, look! We're cose to the motorway! Airports are off of motorways!" She pointed at the sign that had an arrow and the word autoroute plastered across it.

Close wasn't good enough for Erinn anymore. As much as she loved adventures, she didn't like the long, hopeless walk that seemed to accompany this one. She just wanted to find civilization and cuddle up in a hotel room with the flag. "Ugh, a bathroom would be stellar," Erinn agreed. She hadn't really had to go previously, but now that Ellie mentioned it, she wouldn't be too opposed to the idea of finding a building with a restroom in it. The longer they walked, the more irritated Erinn became. Fortunately, however, Ellie soon perked up with the sight of a sign, causing Erinn to happily jump up with her. Oh, fuck yeah, this is good. We should be like, right near it, right?" she asked, her pace quickening as she started to head off towards it. It was likely a bit dangerous to be running around on a motorway, but that was perfectly okay with Erinn and the buzzing cars didn't bother her in the least. "Try not to get run over," Erinn warned, since obviously Ellie would need such a warning.
