The chimes rung as the door was pushed open. Holly Blanchard stepped into one of her all time favorite shops in Hogsmeade, Honedukes. The girl was a sucker for anything sweet, her next favorite place on the strip was Florean Fortescues. She walked up and down the aisles, gently running her fingers across the small boxes of candy. Her dark eyes were bright with excitement and the corners of her mouth lifted into a smile. She was like a little kid when she made her weekly trip to the candy store. There were just too many to choose from. In all honesty, if she didn't have to meet up with the rest of the students in a few hours to head back to the castle, she would be there all day.
Holly thought about how wonderful it must be to work at Honeydukes' or the ice cream parlor up the block., all of the smiling faces she'd get to see, all of the people she would get to cheer up. That would make her days wonderful, but then she realized that the employees wouldn't actually get to eat the candy or the ice cream. That would torture her, being surrounded by her favorite sweets and be forbidden to eat them. She wondered how all of the workers did it, how they could handle it. They must all either be extremely strong willed, diabetic, or good at concealing the fact that they're eating it anyway.
Holly wandered around, looking over the same shelves multiple times before beginning to make her selections. Licorice Wands, Chocolate Frogs, she piled all of the basics into her arms, skipping over the Bertie Botts for the week. The day before she had been sitting on her bed in the dorms eating her candy and attempting to study for a Herbology exam when she was blessed with eating a chili pepper flavored bean that had been placed in the cherry flavored pile. Yes, she took the time to organize her jelly beans into flavor and color categories, she had to. Holly's older sister and parents suspected her slight bit of OCD to go along with the rest of her problems. She was already taking medication for her ADD, but sadly there was no pill she could take to resolve her dyslexia. It didn't rally affect the girl as a person, sure her grades suffered, but she tried and that was all that she could do about it.
Holly continued walking up and down the isles, her indecisiveness taking over her mind, even though everyone knew she would be walking out of the shop with the same assortment as she always did and the same ear to ear grin on her face.

Find the place where we escape Take you with me for a space
The days where Damien got to work were some of his favorite days of the week. Dervish and Banges was just one of those places that he could happily spend hours on end just tinkering about and learning about everything that came through their doors. It was honestly just a never-ending supply of interesting and intriguing things and he loved it. However, when he had to work long shifts without much of anyone coming through the doors, it got to be a bit much. Sure, he loved being there, but when he ran out of new things to investigate and was left with the lull of hours on end with only a few people coming in, it grew to be rather tedious. Even for Damien, there were times when he wanted to just talk to someone and not sit there in the silence of the shop. Weekdays were usually pretty calm, so that afternoon had mostly just been Damien twirling around on the stool and helping the odd few customers that came in to get something fixed or to buy one of the random odds and ends that the shop held.
After a solid hour without any activity, Damien's boss decided that it was a good time for the boy to take a quick break for lunch. Lunch wasn't something Damien was going to say no to, so he gave his boss a quick nod before heading back out to the streets of Hogsmeade. Despite not having eaten for awhile, Damien wasn't all that hungry and as he walked down the street he didn't spot anything in particular that he wanted to eat. He did, however, pause next to Honeyduke's. Even if he didn't eat a full meal, he could just grab some chocolate or something as a snack before he headed back over to work. That would satisfy any lingering hunger pains and Honeyduke's always had the best candy. Damien wasn't big on sweets most of the time, but he didn't mind munching on it a little bit once in awhile. Besides, it could pep him up a bit for the rest of his shift that afternoon
Entering into the shop, Damien went straight over towards the chocolates. It was the only thing he ever really got there, since he wasn't too big on most of the other treats that they offered. Some of it was alright, but it wasn't his thing. Picking up just a simple chocolate bar, Damien nodded, satisfied with his choice, before turning back towards the counter. Moving around a few of the rowdier children, Damien was jostled to the side, where he accidentally bumped into one of the other customers. "I ah, s-sorry. Uh, I didn't mean to bump into you," he mumbled, scratching at the back of his neck nervously as he apologized. He vaguely recognized the girl from around the castle, but she wasn't from his own house, so he couldn't say that he knew her all too well. Probably a good thing, since he would have felt a whole lot worse if he actually had known her.

Holly wandered up and down the isles of Honeydukes, mesmerized by the shelves of sweets. She was in a sugar euphoria, surrounded by so much that she didn't know what to choose. Her favorite, but not by much, was the classic licorice wand. She could eat those all day every day if she could do so without weighing as much as an elephant. Holly's mother would certainly disapprove of that. The Blanchards had to maintain their perfect reputation. The divorce had been kept a secret from the world, so their image of a loving, happy family went untarnished. Her sister's habits were yet to be uncovered, which was a good thing because their parents would probably exile her to Guam if they found out what she had gotten herself into. Drugs, sex and alcohol were viewed similar to murder in the Blanchard household, which is the sole reason she remained untarnished and kept her sister's secrets. Their brother, on the other hand, was still in the "completely isolated and sheltered" stage of his life; he has yet to experience what the real world should feel like. Mother kept him no farther than arm distance away from her at all times. The leash was slackened on Holly and her older sister, though they were still kept within range. The girl couldn't imagine how her sister managed to get away with the things she does. It was mind boggling.
Holly's mind popped out of her trance when someone bumped into her. "I'm so sorry," she began, "I was thinking and I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking and-" she stopped herself. Holly apologized once more, finally looking up at the person's face. He was from her school, she recognized him, though she couldn't remember his name. It was at the tip of her tongue, but she couldn't place it. "Hey, you are in my Transfiguration class, aren't you?" she asked, a smile curling on her thin, pink lips. Holly sat in the front of the room, though she rarely ever raised her hand. She was the type of student that would daydream through her classes and get not so great grades on everything. Blame it on her ADD, but she couldn't pay attention in class, unless it was something visual. If you showed the girl how to transform a tissue box into a mouse, then she would be able to get it in a few tries, but if you tried to tell her how to do it she would struggle. Holly smiled politely at the boy, noticing that he only had an ordinary chocolate bar in his hand. Where was the fun in that?

Find the place where we escape Take you with me for a space
Although it had clearly been an accident that they had bumped into each other, Damien was starting to feel a bit of panic about it. He wasn't the most adept with social interaction and now that it was being thrust upon him, he was extremely nervous about it. He didn't want the girl to think he was rude for having bumped into her, that was for sure. However, she seemed not to think it was entirely his fault and was also apologizing, which put the boy slightly more at ease with it. Not much, but at least slightly more than he had been previously. "N-no, it ah, it was my fault, really. I'm ah...sorry," he countered with a quick shake of his head. Honestly, it mostly had been his fault, at least he was pretty sure of that. It wasn't really that big of a deal overall, but Damien had the tendency to make things seem bigger than they were at times. It was really just his nerves taking over.
When the girl moved on from the incident, Damien was willing to let it go with just that and his apologies stopped. Thinking on it for a moment, he was pretty sure that she was right about that. Damien felt like she was one of the people that sat up towards the front of the classroom, but he didn't think that she was very talkative or participatory. Though, neither was Damien. The only class that he ever really spoke in was Arithmancy. "Y-yeah, I'm ah, D-damien," he answered with a nod. Meeting new people always made Damien overly nervous, so he generally hoped that she wouldn't think he was far too weird for being such a spaz. "I'm ah, a Ravenclaw," he added, figuring that getting the basics out of the way would be a good start to whatever conversation they were to have before they left from the store.
Scratching anxiously at the back of his head, Damien wasn't quite sure what he was supposed to do next. He didn't want to look rude by leaving, so he started to slowly walk up towards the front counter to check out. That way he didn't appear to be trying to escape from the girl and he still got where he needed to go. "S-sorry again about...everything," he mumbled as they got up closer to the checkout. "I er, c-can I buy your candy as an a-apology?" Damien was the kind of guy that did things for other people just because and this was one of those instances where he felt even more obligated to do something nice for the girl. After all, he had gone and inconvenienced her by bumping into her and he rather doubted that she wanted anything to do with him. He wasn't the easiest person to get to know, that was for sure. Placing his own chocolate bar up onto the bar, he waited for Holly to place her things there as well. He wasn't going to force her to let him pay for it, but he was definitely going to try.
