Friends weren't something that came around all too often for Addy. So, when on the odd occasion someone came along that wanted to try and change that, she generally didn't know how to react. Usually she would just push them away and try to get out of it, but Morgan seemed, well, different. She was genuinely trying to be her friend and technically her parents couldn't be too upset by her being around the girl. If anything, she looked enough like Megan that she could feign ignorance when confronted about it. It was a risk, but perhaps it would be a risk worth taking.Having someone to talk to for a change would be kind of nice, if anything. Not that Addy was much good at talking, though she certainly would try.
The prospect of spending the entire day with Morgan was intimidating in every respect for Addy. She'd barely spent a few minutes with someone, let alone a few hours. Not to mention, she'd never been out of London before in her life and that too was slightly intimidating. However, Addy kind of wanted to try it out and see how things went. They couldn't very well keep her from that, probably. After spending what seemed like hours putting together an outfit and getting herself ready, Addy headed out from the Ravenclaw dorms and down to the Entrance Hall to wait for Morgan. It was weird being there for something other than classes or a meal and even weirder still that she wasn't just passing through. Finding herself a rather secluded corner, Addy nervously stood there, waiting on the other girl's arrival.

Morgan Aldridge took her time getting ready, as usual. She was notorious for taking hours, but she was never late and this time was no different. The girl dressed simply in jeans and a shirt with a pair of heels. Her chocolate curls fell loosely around her face. Her makeup was natural and flawless with a touch of cotton candy flavored lip gloss. The girl did a once over in the mirror before making her way out of the common room.
Her heels clicked and clacked, echoing, as she strutted down the corridor. Her warm, friendly smile pinned back the corners of her mouth. Morgan was really excited to be meeting with Adelaide. She loved helping people through rough patches in their lives and solving their problems to the best of her ability. Seeing someone else smile because of her made the girl happy. There was a certain hop in her step when she entered the main hall. Her clear, hazel eyes scanned the area and immediately found the brunette almost hiding in the corner. Morgan was good at finding people that were trying to make themselves seem invisible. It came naturally to her because she just hated seeing people uncomfortable in their surroundings. It bothered the girl, so she was constantly trying to fix it.. Morgan walked over to the Ravenclaw and spoke with a friendly smile, "Hey Adelaide, you ready to have your first tour of France?" She took the girl by the hand and escorted her out of the castle onto the grounds. The weather outside was beautiful, practically flawless. The sun was out, reaching down to kiss Morgan's lightly tanned skin. There was a slight breeze, but it was neither hot or cold, but comfortably in the middle. "Ready?"

It was obvious by her body language that the longer Addy stood there surrounded by people, the more awkward about it she felt. Were in not for the knowledge that Morgan had promised to be there, Addy probably would have just gotten out of there as quickly as possible and hidden back away in her room. As it were, Addy was practically ready to bolt the second that she saw Morgan coming towards her. Perhaps this wasn't such a good idea after all and maybe she shouldn't have agreed to hang out. After all, there was still a good chance that things could go wrong and someone would end up getting hurt. Either Morgan or herself would end up on the bad end of her parents mood and it would just be all bad.
However, it was hard to want to run away from Morgan when she had such a calming smile on her face. "I uhm, y-yeah, yeah," she nodded, though clearly she wasn't. If anything, she was as ready as she'd ever be. Well, until Morgan took her hand, that is. Physical contact was something else that Adelaide was terrified and she quickly pulled back with a look of almost fear in her eyes before calming herself down. Morgan wasn't her father, it was okay. "I...sorry, uhm, yeah..." she said with a nod as they made it outside. Addy was sure that by that point Morgan probably thought she was a complete basketcase, which was true in many ways, and she wouldn't have been surprised if they other girl was done with her already. "I...you don't have to take me if you uhm, if you don't want to."

The girl’s smile could light up a room, it was proven, something that just happened when she walked in. She was like the Chuck Norris of happiness; you just can’t question her power. When Morgan saw Adelaide, she couldn’t help but feel bad for her. No girl, after seven years of being in this school should be standing there looking so uncomfortable, so out of place. It was terrible, but that just made Morgan want to help the girl even more. When she asked the girl if she was ready to go, she looked like her brain was about to melt out.
Not thinking anything of it, Morgan took her hand, which was quickly pulled back as if her own hand was made out of hot coals. She didn’t understand, well, maybe she did. In her head, she told herself to slow things down, calm down. Obviously things were pretty bad, assuming from what just happened. Morgan couldn’t imagine a world without hugging. It was her second favorite thing to do. Feeling a little bit rejected, they made their way through the doors of the entrance and out onto the grounds. “I want to take you though. It’ll be a lot of fun. Really it will,” she said nodding and smiling.
“So…whenever you’re ready we can apparate…” Morgan was willing to wait, if that was what it was going to take. She had the patience to do it. Befriending this girl and making her feel more comfortable were her two main priorities of the day and she was going to make it happen.

Though Addy's question had been phrased as if she were giving Morgan the chance to get out of hanging out with her, perhaps a large portion of it was for her own benefit as well. She was already nervous and they hadn't even left yet, so she wasn't sure how she would find it in herself to calm down to actually go out. However, it was hard to say no to Morgan. She was genuinely friendly, had that smile that made her feel like it was okay, and even just her voice was calming. Addy's eyes flickered down to the ground as she kicked her feet about for a moment, biting down hard on her lip in a nervous motion. Adelaide had the tendency to cause herself slight physical pain when placed in awkward situations, since it made the unsettling emotions she was feeling a lot less poignant. Not a good habit to pick up, but a habit that she couldn't break.
Letting out another deep breath, Adelaide nodded lightly towards Morgan, her eyes trailing back up towards her. "I, yeah, that's...we can...when you're ready," Addy agreed, giving her a nervous smile. It was something she wanted to do and so, despite her hesitation and nervousness, Addy would do her best to let it happen. Flexing her hand in and out of a fist for a moment, her nails digging into the palm of her hand, Addy stepped forward towards Morgan slightly and held her hand out with a slight nod. Considering Addy didn't know where they were to be headed, exactly, she knew that letting Morgan apparate them to the location was necessary, which meant that she had to let Morgan take her hand. It was a big step for Addy, and though she was clearly incredibly out of her comfort zone, she was at least trying and that counted for a lot.

Morgan smiled when Adelaide said she was ready, even though it was quite apparent that she was nowhere near it. It was a good step, so the girl planned on making this travel as least painful as possible for her. Taking her hand ever so gently, she didn’t hesitate to let the loud crack roar as they apparated to her favorite country, France. The two of them appeared standing at the corner of a small strip of shops and boutiques. This was one of Morgan’s favorite places to hang out with her friends when she was home. There was always something to do, something interesting to buy. Things never got old here. Plus, there were just too many good times set here, too many good memories.
“This is my favorite place to go when I’m home. I’m sure you’ll love it. It’s right down here,” she began to walk up the street, practically bouncing, saying bonjour to a few people that she recognized as she walked by. Morgan looked over her shoulder and smiled, hoping the girl was following her as she pushed the door open. She nodded at the waitress and talked to her for a moment before walking to the back, sliding into the booth.

When Morgan took her hand again, Adelaide managed not to flinch backwards too much, which could have been bad for both of them in the middle of apparating. However, they were quickly to their destination and Addy let out a light sigh of relief, pulling her hand back to her side with an anxious expression. For the first time in her life, she was out of the country. Not even just out of the country, but out of London in general. Also for the first time in her life, Adelaide didn't feel the oppressive grasp of her parents at her throat, constantly threatening her and making it impossible to feel comfortable in her own skin. For once, she was, well, free.
Following Morgan with a now curious gaze, Addy was visibly more comfortable than she'd been all day. It was weird to her, to think that there was possibly a place where she could feel okay enough in public not to be freaking out, but it was nice. She was still nervous as they walked down the street towards a small shop, but she was more at ease than before. "It's really gorgeous here," she commented, giving Morgan the first actual smile she'd mustered up all day as they entered into the cafe and walked back towards a booth. Sliding into the booth on the opposite side of Morgan, Addy looked over at her expectantly, assuming Morgan would know what to do next. "I...err, sorry about...before. I just don't...I'm not used to uhm, people and...yeah," she mumbled, hoping to get an apology out of the way without having to bring much of an explanation with it.

Morgan was glad that Adelaide didn’t jerk her had away a second time. That wouldn’t have ended very well in the case of apparating. Someone could have lost an arm or just ended up somewhere else on the map. Either way, just not good. The girl was glad that both of them made it to France in one piece. She was a bit nervous. When Addy smiled and commented on the little town, Morgan couldn’t hold back her smile. It was good to see the girl loosening up. All she needed was a little change of pace it seemed. Just from how she had been acting in the past few minutes, she could tell that the girl’s parents were overbearing, controlling her in every way possible. She could just see it in the girls eyes, how much she relaxed since they set food in a different country.
The two of them slid into opposite sides of a booth. “It’s no problem. No need to apologize,” Morgan said in a comforting tone as she waved down one of the waiters who greeted them with a nice, welcoming smile. The native placed her order for her coffee and pastries in fluent French before turning to Adelaide. “Do you know what you want? I can recommend something if you want.”

Though Morgan assured her that there was no real reason for her to apologize, Addy still felt like it was necessary. Normal people probably didn't pull away like she did and it would generally be considered rude, but she couldn't help herself. Any sort of physical contact put her on edge, even countries away from her parents. "I uhm, a suggestion would be nice. I don't...I've not really ever been to a place like uh, like this," she said with an attempt at a smile. Addy didn't get out very often, unless it was with her parents, and that was never to small places like that. With them, it was always somewhere extremely fancy with foods that Addy probably couldn't even pronounce the names of. She thought she would much prefer places like this, but she didn't really know.
Awkwardly shifting in her seat, Addy wasn't sure exactly what she was supposed to do next. There was probably some sort of acceptable conversation starter that people would usually use, but Addy wasn't around people enough to know what that might have been. Chewing at her bottom lip, Addy shifted back once more and looked up at Morgan. "I...so uhm, do you uh, do you come back to France often?" she asked, figuring it was a safe place to start off conversation. Morgan seemed to really like her home country and it was a relatively easy thing to talk about overall. There wasn't much that could relate to Addy herself in a conversation about France, which was probably a large part of why she decided to go ahead with that line of conversation instead of something else.

“I ordered the strawberry kirsch. It’s delicious, the best I’ve ever had. The lemon mousse her is also to die for. Those are my two favorites, but really everything here is delicious,” Morgan spoke with a smile on her pink lips, her hazel eyes lighting up when talking about her favorite pastries. She could honestly go on and on about the pastries here, but she didn’t want to overwhelm Adelaide on her fist trip out of the country. Two suggestions should be good enough. If not, she was ready to suggest more. The list was preparing itself in her head.
“Oh yes! I come back whenever I can. Usually on the weekends, but sometimes I stop by after classes just to pop into the neighborhood and say hello to everyone. Most of my friends attend Beauxbatons, so I don’t really get the chance to see them often. We send letters to each other and stuff, but it’s not the same as talking in person, yanno?” The smile remained on her face. Well, it never really ever left her face to begin with. Morgan Aldridge was full of smiles and happiness despite what was going on with her family. Judging from appearance alone, one wouldn’t even suspect that her twin hated her guts, her mother ran away, their oldest sister abandoned them for a while and everyone in her bloodline was of strict order in the Death Squadron. “What about you? Do you visit home a lot?”

Adelaide had no idea what either of those were, but she was sure that Morgan knew what she was talking about and took her suggestion with a nod. She wasn't that picky of an eater, so it was probable that she would like whatever it was that Morgan suggested. Looking over at the waitress with an anxious expression, Adelaide ordered the first thing that was suggested to her. "Yeah, uh, it sounds good or...yeah," Addy agreed with a quick nod. She was kind of envious of the fact that Morgan knew about places like this, since she never got to go out, even when she was home, so she didn't really know any special little cafes or anything. It seemed like such a normal, simple thing, but it was something Addy didn't get to experience.
She also didn't get to experience the idea of going home and visiting friends on weekends or spending time with the family. The last thing she would have wanted was to be at home more often than she needed to, so she tried to keep at Hogwarts whenever possible. "Oh, yeah, not the same at all," Addy agreed, as if she had any idea. She didn't have enough friends to need to send letters to them or anything of the sort. "Oh, no. I don't go home," Addy replied, a frown creasing at her forehead as she spoke. Talking about her home life caused her to stiffen back up into an awkwardly tense position, but it couldn't be helped. There were just some things that Addy felt she would never be able to get over and that was one of them.

“Oh it really is delicious. I think you’ll like it a lot,” Morgan said with a smile, “I’m sure it will have you coming back for more.” If there was anything this girl knew, it was her French pastries and how to take care of people. She hadn’t met one person who didn’t like this café’s kirsch and whoever didn’t like it must be clinically insane or lied about tasting it. Or maybe their tongue had been cut off.
Morgan nodded, “I’d rather go visit them or have them come over for tea or something like that. I like talking to people in person better. Letters don’t have the same effect.” She was happy that Addy seemed to agree with her. Whenever she saw the Ravenclaw around the castle, she seemed to be by herself, or maybe with one other person, rarely. So the girl just assumed that she had more friends outside of Hogwarts, maybe back home, maybe from around Hogsmeade, just, other people. But when she said that she doesn’t go home, Morgan just didn’t understand. “You don’t go home to see your friends or anything, really? No brothers or sisters?” she asked light heartedly in an attempt not to frighten the girl back into her shell.

Though Addy was sure that she would like the food that she had ordered, she couldn't agree to the possibility that she would be tempted to come back. Going places wasn't something that she did often, if ever, so being that far away from her home was a nerve-wracking ordeal. However, she was doing her best to keep her nerves in check so that she at least seemed relatively normal to her companion. "Yeah, uhm, I think it'll be awesome. Uhm, everything around looks pretty good," she nodded, having caught sight of a few different pastries on the way into the cafe. Addy had never been a really picky eater, though, so she doubted there was much that she would ever end up disliking and even if she did, she wasn't the type of person that would make any complaints about it.
From what Addy could tell, Morgan was definitely a people person and loved to be around others, which meant she probably had a lot of friends. That certainly would explain why she went home so often, at least. "Y-yeah, uhm, I bet that's the best way to do things," she agreed with a bit of a nod. Morgan's questions caused Addy's eyes to drop and her head to fall down a bit as she shook it. "I uhm, don't have either..." she admitted, chewing at her bottom lip as she answered Morgan. Considering how many friends the other girl had, Addy was pretty sure that Morgan would find her utter lack of friends to be particularly strange. Addy really just didn't have anyone and as much as it sucked, that was just the way that things were.

“It is pretty awesome here. The only think that stops me from ordering another round of pastries is my fear of being known as ‘the fatter twin,’” Morgan said, chuckling slightly. She was actually petrified of being known as the ‘this twin’ or the ‘that twin’. She was fine with being known as the nice one and that was all. No one needed to address her as the ‘virgin twin’ or the ‘straight one’ because that wouldn’t make the girl all too happy. Sure, Morgan was a proud virgin, but she didn’t need everyone all over the world to know that. it wasn’t their business. And yes, Megan had been messing around with their friend Peyton for a while now, but as much as she didn’t approve, she wasn’t going to say anything about it. In all honesty, it wasn’t the fact that Pey was a girl that bothered her; it was the fact that her twin sister was doing dirty things in general. It wasn’t proper, especially for a seventh year.
“Of course you have to have friends. You might not realize it, but I bet there are a lot of people that want to be your friend. Plus, I’m your friend, so that’s one right there,” Morgan said with a brilliant smile hoping it would make Addy feel better knowing that Morgan was her friend. If the Ravenclaw ever needed anything, anyone to talk to, or just someone to hang out with, this girl was always there for her. Morgs was the type of girl that would pick you up from a party at three in the morning and make sure you made it home alright. Or if you were going through a tough breakup, Morgs would be the first one to head over to you with a shitton of ice cream, movies and tissues. This was what her life revolved around. She thrived off of making people feel better.

Addy certainly didn't think that Morgan needed to worry about being considered the fatter twin. People generally seemed to like her a lot more than they liked Megan anyway, so Addy doubted that people would ever really talk about her like that. Though, there were a lot of catty people around the school and they did tend to cause trouble when there was absolutely no reason for it. "I uhm, don't think you're fat at all," Addy piped up, awkwardly looking down at the table as she spoke. She wasn't used to talking to people in general, let alone giving them some sort of compliment. It wasn't, perhaps, the most eloquent of compliments, but coming from Addy it was a pretty big deal. Conversation at all was a big deal, though she didn't expect Morgan to realize that at all.
Perhaps Morgan was right about that, but it didn't mean that Addy actually had friends. Sure, there were people that tried, but Addy had a bad habit of pushing people away when they tried to get close and eventually most people just gave up and went about their lives. "Maybe...I guess. I...thanks," she mumbled, nodding her head a bit. Fortunately for Addy, the waitress had returned with their food before things could get even more awkward than they already were. Addy smiled a quick thanks to the woman before taking a bite from her food. "It's really good," she commented once she had finished swallowing, so as not to be rude. "Uhm, thanks for bringing me here."
