And they said you never learn anything good in classes. Please... you found out many, many wonderful stuff like the fact there was a meteor shower tonight and since Violet simply adored Astronomy and stars and the moon and the night in general she couldn’t just miss that, right? So putting on her dark green cloak over a black sweater and sea blue jeans, she walked out of the dorms just as curfew was being announced and that students should all go to their dorms. Naturally many of her house mates were walking down the dungeons corridor to go to the common while she was walking out. No one bothered asking her what was she doing and why wasn't she going the other way around because everyone around her age knew she was Violet Nott and tiny details as rules didn't matter much to her. Surely there were some who scoffed at her behavior but she could care less. She wanted to see that meteor shower and no one could stop her or so she thought.
Not wearing her robe, few students could actually tell what house she was in even though some were smart enough to associate the dark green of her cloak to her house, but again she could care less. Really now, everyone should just mind their own damn business. Reaching the tower, the girl went up the stairs and entered the beautiful room. She really loved it here and in her opinion it had the best view after the pitch, but since she thought there were fewer chances to be caught up here, then she guessed it was the best option. She closed the door gently and as soundless as possible and then went over to one of the windows. She took a seat on the sill, leaned on the left frame while her feet were pushing into the right one as to keep herself up and balanced. Luckily the castle had big enough windows to fit a seventh year student or else this wait might have actually been uncomfortable.

Dominique Weasley hated having to do patrols. While she knew that it was an important part of making sure everything was following the rules and it made sure that all students were safe - though she still didn't know how being out past curfew could make them in danger - she absolutely hated it. It wasted far too much of her personal time that she could spend doing more important things, like reading, pulling pranks, or doing homework. She simply didn't have time to do such stupid things as patrolling the halls. But that was the price she had to pay for being a prefect. At least it was something relatively bearable for the girl. She was just glad that she didn't have to sit outside making sure no one left the castle. Dominique couldn't even begin to imagine how horrible that would be.
The first place the blonde always headed to was the astronomy tower. She always enjoyed the class and if she was going to do these patrols, the least she could do was make them somewhat enjoyable right? As she neared the tower, Dominique pulled her cloak closer to her body. Even though it was March, the nights were still a bit chilly. She opened the door and stepped inside. She allowed her only a second to marvel at the beauty of it before she looked around to see if anyone was in the tower. It didn't take too long before she spotted Violet and instead of yelling at her like she usually would, Dominique just sighed and approached the brunette. "Violet, what are you doing up here?" she asked while she sat down on the floor. It wouldn't hurt to start a conversation would it?

Violet looked out of the window expectantly. As expected she couldn’t remember the exact hour the professor said the meteor shower would be so. She rarely bothered with such details, plus if she wanted to not be caught so easily it was best to leave the dungeons while the students were still out on the halls because let’s face it, the distance was huge and she didn’t know many secret passage nor did she care to know as she found them pretty gross and disgusting. Really now, could you imagine how filthy they were? No way was she caught dead in one of those, so the only way up for her was through the normal staircase and that required lots of people as to not be noticed she wasn’t going to her dorms like those nosy prefects instructed. Really boring people that bunch were. Always so strict. Urgh, it annoyed her to no end because no matter what house they were in they were all the same, blah...
As she was waiting patiently, Violet soon heard footsteps. Hm... That couldn’t be good. Busted so soon and she didn’t even have time to watch the shower. Boo them, they better let her be and maybe join her then make her go back to the dorms so soon. Really now, curfew was just called out, couldn’t they leave them a little more time? ,,Waiting for the meteor shower to start'' the girl answered sheepishly at her friend’s question. Phew, it was only Dom. Yay, she will get to see the shower, that of course if she managed to convince the puff prefect to either stay with her or let her be and forget she had seen her. ,,Care to join her, the professor said it's going to be gran'' she said winking hoping her friend would say yes. It would be nice to have someone to comment with and they haven’t spoken in like ages too, what was it, a week or so? Huge! They really needed to catch up and they needed to do so soon and what better scenery then to chit-chat while stars fall around you, huh?

Dominique rolled her eyes at the brunette’s reply but it would suffice. As long as she wasn’t causing any trouble she could probably let her off the hook and not get her in trouble. Some knew that the blond was a bit easy on the rules when it came to her friends and extremely harsh when it came to people she didn’t like, but not many people had actually seen her do anything of the sorts. Violet was a friend of hers. Yes, they got into more fights than average friends did, but they made up quickly only to fight about the same thing a few days later. Some had dared told her that she was part of a dysfunctional friendship and she quickly responded by saying that everything she was part of was dysfunctional. It was ridiculous really. What was so strange about a friendship between a Hufflepuff and a Slytherin? It wasn’t like they didn’t have anything in common.
The brunette’s question shook Dominique from her thoughts and she smiled. “Sure, I don’t see why I shouldn’t,” she replied. The blond always had a love for stars, except she was never really interested in Astronomy. She didn’t care about the positions of stars and how they changed and everything. She cared about stars and only stars. Nothing for the science behind them. That was probably one of the main reasons why Dominique only had a passing grade in the class. Her fascination with stars was enough to get her a sufficient grade. “So are you only out here to see the stars?” she asked curiously. She had never pegged her friend as someone who enjoyed star-gazing.

,,Maybe because you have prefect shifts'' Violet said sheepishly again as she turned to look at her friend more than amused. She really didn’t understand the students who strived to be prefects or even worst, Head Boy and Head girl. Ew, that had to be the stupidest thing one would do as those shifts and keeping the school in order needed time, free time that she could use in so many other more interesting ways. Of course, it was highly useful to have prefects as friends especially if they would loosen up on the rules around her, like Dom did most of the times, but that didn’t mean she would ever want such a position for her. No way, she valued her time far more than this and plus, no one in their sane mind would actually name her something like that because she had little to no regards for rules or anything restraining.
,,Mhm'' Violet said nodding casually ,,why? Do you have anything better in mind?" she questioned in a sort of daring way almost hoping she would hear a yes and a good interesting proposition from Dom. Of course, the girl could be a bit of a goody-good sometimes, probably the reason why they got in so many fights, but in the same time she was fun and entertaining and that surely compensated the other less lovely fact ,,if you make a good suggestion i might join you as i surely don’t wish to go to bed yet'' she added as angelically as ever. She knew Dominique won’t be fooled by it but then again, if the puff was that dumb, she wouldn’t be her friend. No, she may not be a dorky Ravie, but she did value smart and sly people and Ms. Weasley sure could be when she wanted to.

“Well, I could always go back to it later. It’s not like they need me anyways,” Dominique replied with a shrug of her shoulders. It wasn’t as if she had anything better to do and there was no way that she was going to go back to patrolling. Sometimes she wondered what had compelled her decide to stay a prefect, but deep inside her mind she knew. Of course, she was too proud to ever state what the reason was. No, no, Dominique had more self-confidence and dignity than that. So until she could convince herself otherwise, she was doing this all for herself and her future. Though, honestly, the girl had no clue how being a prefect would help her become a healer or a curse breaker.
“Not really. I was just curious,” she said and rolled her eyes at Violet’s faux innocence. She knew her well enough to see through it and even if she didn’t she would know. Dominique had used that same tone of voice many times. A moment later, she remembered something. “I do have some firewhiskey in my dorm room though if you want to drink or something,” she said and lay down on the floor, staring at the ceiling. What she neglected to mention was that the firewhiskey wasn’t hers but her roommates’. The blonde didn’t think that it was an important thing to mention though. If anything, her roommate deserved it for being such a horrible person.
