[/b] taking one huge step back, delilah stared at the ground as she attempted to apologize, that was…umm…that was unintentional. sorry! i'm sorry.for a girl who only stood at five feet five inches, which was average height, she found herself attempting to hide behind the medium sized cup. it not only looked ridiculous but made her turn into a tomato even more so. biting her lower lip delilah stammered some more as she looked up toward the spilled contents on the person's shirt, oh good lord…ummm…i'll make it up to you, some how. i'm so sorry, really am. its my fault, but umm….not intentional.o u t f i t - - - click[/ul] [/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Since he was only part of the reserves team, Julian didn't go to every practice that the team had, but that afternoon he had spent a fair amount of time out practicing, just in case he was called to action. It wasn't likely, but Julian wanted to be ready just in case it did come up. He was pretty tired after finishing, so he left the team behind to go get something to eat from somewhere in Hogsmeade. It was better than eating at the castle again, even if it was a bit farther of a walk. As long as he got something to eat, he'd be pretty satisfied.
There were a lot of choices in Hogsmeade, but Julian's favorite had to be the Three Broomsticks. Something about the friendly atmosphere made it an easy place to relax after a long day. There was boung to be a few people that he knew there as well, so he could probably hang out with a few mates while he caught dinner. As he approached the door to the inn, Julian was caught stepping back as the door swung outwards, revealing the lithe figure of another, though female, student. Much to his distress, that female also came with a cup full of butterbeer right onto his shirt.
Glancing down with a momentarily irritated scowl, Julian's expression softened a bit when he saw how red the girl was turning. Even if he was a Slytherin, he was a decent bloke and he didn't like to see women in distress. "Don't worry about it. Shirt's sweaty anyway," he shrugged. It wasn't that much of an issue, so Julian just tugged upwards on the shirt and threw it off over his shoulder. He could grab a new one from his dorm and just eat at the castle, even if he had preferred to eat elsewhere. "Delilah, right?" he asked, cocking his head to the side as he asked his question.

[/b] though she was a zabini she was very unlike her siblings. she was the shy moth who kept to herself, for the most part, while her siblings were the social butteflies. biting her lower lip dee, while tugging her at her long wavy hair, she suggested awkwardly, ummm…uhhh…if i buy you buy you a meal will that make up…for my…clumsiness. though she knew and was familiar with most slytherins dee was the type to always make up for her mistakes, which often happened due to her clumsiness. continuing to play with her hair she stuttered another suggestion, or…umm…i could buy you…a new jacket or…or a new shirt… while stuttering her suggestion she looked down toward the ground. she could not help herself, she felt too awkward to actually look at julian. it was something her mother scolded her and despised about dee. she was someone who not only lacked confidence, but social grace as well which was something that could not be made up for. it did not matter that she had one amazing memory and was considered a genius. the lacking of social grace meant she could not really be taken out for social gatherings and could not be shown off as some sort of prize. It surprised Julian a bit that the girl was so shocked he knew her, since he just kind of knew everyone that there was to know. Maybe he didn't hang around them all, but he took the time to at least know people's names from classes and the like. "We have potions together, I think. So, yeah, I guess I know your name. I'm Julian, by the way," he said with a quick nod. Just because he knew her name didn't mean that she would know his and it was usually just a sign of being polite that he introduced himself when meeting someone. The family that he was raised in had made it vital to be gentlemanly when dealing with people, especially with women.
Scratching at the back of his head, Julian felt pretty awkward standing there. He didn't have any problem with the fact that he had taken his shirt off, but the fact that Delilah was so anxious was rubbing off on him a bit. "No, really, it's just fine. This will come right out when I throw it in the wash," he said, shaking his head at her offers. He didn't expect anything from her, since it had been a complete accident that she had tripped into him like that. He hoped that it wasn't on purpose, anyways. She didn't seem like the kind of girl that would go around throwing butterbeer on people she hardly knew.
Not sure what to say that could calm her down at all, Julian stretched his arms back lazily. "How about you just walk back to the castle with me?" he suggested. He had to head back there anyway, so some company would be nice to have along and hopefully that would make Delilah feel better about the butterbeer incident. He didn't want her to run around thinking that she was indebted to him for the rest of the year.

[/b] tugging at her hair some more the girl added in a louder tone, i know, you're julian medici. everyone knows you. a soft sigh escaped, one of relief more than anything, when she heard him say it was okay. delilah was well aware that most slytherins treated her nicely because of her siblings, but there were some who did not care and often tormented her. blinking a few times delilah smiled, faintly, before nodding while commenting, its the least i can do…especially since, well, your shirt. tugging some more at her hair she awkwardly asked attempting to become more comfortably, umm, so…what were you doing here in hogsmeade? even amongst her own housemates she was an outcast, but this was only because delilah was socially awkward. she often had things to say, but could not find a way to say it. so the fact that she was able to even say anything to julian was a shocker to her but was rather comforting. Julian had heard all the different jokes and mean things that could be said about Delilah, but he'd never understood the point of it. He couldn't have cared less what her memory was like and there wasn't much use making fun of her for it. It was useful more than it was strange. "Yeah, I guess I just know a lot of names," he said with a shrug. Knowing people, no matter who they were, would prove to be useful eventually, he hoped. That was why he tried to be civil with everyone he ran into, even if he didn't always like them.
It was true that most people probably knew who he was. He talked to a lot of people and hung around a couple different groups of people, so he was meshed in well with the school. He might not have been the most recognizable, but it was odd if someone hadn't at least heard of his name in passing before. He was just one of those people that everybody knew, regardless of if they had met him or not. "Julian Medici, the one and only," he chuckled. The attention was something he enjoyed most of the time, if not reveled in at times.
Glad to hear that she was going to walk back with him, Julian started to walk towards the castle at a slow pace, leaving room for her to catch up. "I was just coming to get lunch after practice, but I can grab something from the kitchens when we get back," he answered. He wasn't too bothered by it all, since the house elves were usually friendly enough to make whatever he asked for. "Were you just here for a butterbeer or did you have other plans?" he asked. He was curious to see what a girl like Delilah did with her time.

[/b] being someone who normally stayed around the castle or in the lawns rather than at parties and hang outs, it was quite different and refreshing. chewing on her lower lip dee apologized, yet again, i’m sorry for ruining your plans… it was a horrible habit of her’s, well at least that’s what her mother said. but dee could not help it. she already barely had any friends and plenty of enemies, adding another was not something that would benefit her and if it meant a possible friend then apologizing was what she had to do, not to mention she’s a girl who was kind in general. As much as Julian loved being at Hogwarts, he could see where she was coming from. The castle could quickly become a very solemn place if you were there for long periods of time and Julian liked to get out whenever he could. With Quidditch practice and parties, he managed to say out of the castle enough that it didn't seem to bother him a whole lot, but he did enjoy coming to Hogsmeade sometimes just to change it up. "Makes sense. Much as I love the place, it can get kind of depressing. Nice to see some sunshine for a change," he agreed. Swiveling his head around to face her, he was confused by why she decided to walk back behind him than by his side.
Trying to soothe her worries, he smiled back at her before turning his head again. "Seriously, it's alright," he replied with a shake of his head. It was kind of endearing how nervous about things she seemed to be. "I don't bite, you know. You don't have to stay back there," he pointed out, moving to the side a bit to allow space for her to move in. He was worried that maybe it was him that was the problem and maybe she just didn't want to be around him. He had a bit of a reputation, since he was a Slytherin, so he wouldn't have been surprised if she was afraid to deal with him. It would be a disappointment, since Julian liked having pretty girls as friends.

[/b] yes it was obvious the boy did not mind being around her, after all it was he who suggested but she could not help but feel awkward and shocked. not many liked her and the fact that julian medici wanted to be around her was, well, unexpected.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul][/size]

Because he was a Slytherin, an athlete and a fairly popular guy, it was often assumed that he wasn't a very nice guy. However, Julian was actually not that much of a jerk. He could get nasty when he needed to be, but if there was no reason for underhanded motives, than he didn't bother with them. He liked to have a variety of people around him that he could consider friends and so he tried to be generally friendly around anyone that he ran into. Somehow, however, he still managed to have a reputation around him that gave people the wrong impression of him.
"Well I don't have a problem with you, so I don't see why I wouldn't want to be around you," Julian said with a shrug. Even if other people didn't seem to like Delilah, she had never given him a reason not to, so he wasn't going to be rude to her. Other people could talk all they wanted, it would just make him that much more of an enigma. The popular Slytherin boy that hung out with the often outcasted Ravenclaw girl. It could add to his mysteriousness and that was something Julian was okay with.

[/b] a soft sigh escaped the girl as she continued to tug at her hair. conversing, socializing, all that was a complete mystery to her, which she did not like at all. but the fact that she was even able to say a sentence or two was a rather large improvement.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul][/center]

Even if Delilah was a bit odd, Julian didn't mind it. He was very tolerant of people and could hang around just about anyone without a problem. There were some people he was less fond of, but he was good at hiding it when he needed to be. Delilah didn't bother him in the least, though, and he actually didn't mind being around her so far. He didn't know her all that well, but he didn't see why he couldn't start to get to know her better. After all, there was nothing wrong with having new friends.
"It's cool. Lot's of people in this school are kind of weird," he replied with a shrug, hoping his ease would help calm her down somewhat. They were getting closer to the castle at that point, which Julian oddly found disappointing. He had kind of enjoyed having Delilah there for company, possibly because she was so different from the people he was usually around. "Are you doing anything the rest of the day?" he asked, trying to make it sound like just casual conversation.

[/b] internally cringing delilah scolded herself silently. she was adding wood to the already large fire. it did not matter that julian himself said it was okay she could not help but feel awkward and foolish, which was rather obvious with her constant apologies. biting her lower lip, she continued to play with her hair. as she stared ahead she began noticing how they were getting closer to the castle. it made her somewhat upset. it meant she’d be alone again, but rather than asking him if they could hang out a bit longer, and coming off as a desperate lonesome girl she instead kept quiet. Getting ahead on reading was a good idea, but Julian wanted to have fun with the rest of his day. Seventh year was a lot more work, so he tried to rest on the weekends and enjoy himself instead of spending it doing school work. There were times he couldn't do that, but he tried to take as much time as he could for himself. "I don't think I have any plans," he said, shaking his head. It wasn't often that Julian found himself with nothing to do the rest of the day, but he hadn't really taken the time earlier in the week to make any plans for the weekend. Now he was stuck with no idea what to do.
As they came closer to the castle, Julian scratched at the back of his head, not sure what else to say. It wasn't that he felt awkward around Delilah, since he didn't, it was just that he didn't know what he could say next. He didn't want to just move on with his day and leave her to her studies, since he was rather curious to know more about her, but he didn't want to scare her off or something. "I guess I probably should work on some of my school work too. We could work together in the library if you want," he offered. That seemed like a safe thing to suggest doing, since it was innocent schoolwork.
It wasn't Julian's idea of a good time, but Delilah seemed like the kind of girl that he had to take time to get to know and not just jump right in to being friends with. Most people he could just start chattering away with, but she was nervous and he didn't want to push any limits. Doing something simple, even if they were just sitting at the same table, was probably something that could lead to futher conversation.
