Lacey hadn't gotten out of bed for the day. But it wasn't like she had any plans that day. Puddlemore seemed to have an off day - what a miracle. But the young lady still curled up underneath her purple comforter. She heard the faint beeps from her alarm clock that she had tossed into the hallway when it first erupted with its annoying chirps. Also she had pushed herself up in the comfortable bed of hers, she sat up. She knew last night was rather wild. Though piecing it together. She was out with the girls, hit a few of the local pubs, clubs. But after all she didn't remember tumbling into her own bed. For that matter there were things she didn't want to remember, Colby. But that was part of the reason the girls snagged her after practice and didn't let her go until she was rip roaring drunk. Not a bad idea, but the afternoon after. She was beginning to feel it. The soft thumbing between her temples. She defanitly knew it was going to be hitting her harder if she didn't get up. A shower, tea, and something to eat would often enough cure her.
She could feel the smudged make up on her face, but she didn't care. She got up from her bed, in her shirt from the previous day, and headed for her tea that she always left a kettle on the stove with water in it. All it had to be was boiled, and her tea bag tossed in. Than she would be remotely human. Flipping the one of the burners on, and as she placed the kettle on the fire. She sat down for a moment at the little table she had. She knew she was alone in the house because it was so quiet, and plus her roommate and good pal was off with a new conquest and from what she remembered consisted of fun between the sheets. But not that she wanted to think about sex as that would bring him back into her mind. And that wasn't about to happen. Lost in thought she nearly jumped hearing the kettle indicate it was ready. She had gotten up after laughing at herself, and pouring a large mug full of the boiling water and dropping a tea bag in. The mug was warm and comfortable to the touch. Adding a little honey in it, as she stirred it.
Bringing herself, and the mug to the shower as she turned it on the warmth of the water. She needed to get rid of the hang over so she could at least be civil. There were things of her evening and night that were slowly coming together. Which didn't mean anything for the young Lacey. When she jumped into the shower it was almost euphoric even the pounding in he rheas softly went away for a few moments. She handy found her wand to do her charm to her skull so it would stop hurting. She loved having friends that were healers that they would teach her little tricks. Working on her tea that had cooled down as she cleaned herself up.
Smelling between somewhere between pineapples and kiwis as she dried off and slipped into some comfortable clothes. Her black sweatpants and a pink tank top as she was going to be easy on herself. All she wanted to do today was just relax. Maybe she would actually open a book, or maybe she would run to the store and cook something without burning it. All of these sounded good. As she towel dried her hair as she was allowing it to have a mind of its own. She didn't want to style it really. That was too much work. And work wasn't something she wanted, when she finally found herself back to her room she found her wand in her pocket of yesterdays shorts, and she put it to her temple muttering some latin healing spell that would remove the headache. But the hang over itself was still there. She heard a knock on the door, and she went to go get it. "Ally, you forgot you're key again didn't you?" she said to the air and to the person outside the door. Though opening it quickly, and trying to hide her excitement and her annoyed self seeing Colby standing at the door. She exhaled an arm on her hip, and the other on the door handle. "What do you want?" she said, her voice was trying to be snotty and mean. But she was sure he could see right through that.

On the days where there was no practice for the team, Colby found himself utterly lost for what to do with himself. The team was more than just a job for the man, but his life. He lived and breathed for the rest of his teammates and the more time that he spent with them, the closer he became to the bunch of them. Much like when he was back in Gryffindor and came to love his team like a family, the Puds were something more to the boy. He liked to consider himself a very dedicated and loyal man, so there wasn't anything that he wouldn't do for his time. Unfortunately for Colby, he knew that sometimes it became a problem and could be considered a source of some of his recent troubles with his probably at the moment ex-girlfriend. Though he and Lacey never officially broken it off, it had been awhile after their last fight since they had last spoken.
Despite it being an off day for training, Colby had already been up at nearly the crack of dawn. Even when they didn't have training for a day, he was always sure to be up and about early so that he didn't fall out of his rhythm. Not to mention, he found it hard to sleep for too long when his thoughts were plagued with the overwhelming memories of Lacey. He didn't keep tabs on her when they were fighting, exactly, but he heard things from some of their mutual friends when taking part in some conversations and he had at least some idea of how she was doing most of the time. No matter if they were fighting or not, Colby cared a lot about Lacey and hearing that perhaps she wasn't in the best of situations didn't warm his heart in the least. If anything, it just gave him the overt desire to go check up on her and make sure that she was doing okay. He didn't want to be the first to cave in and talk to her, but sometimes it was impossible to help.
Dressed in nothing more than a pair of sweats, Colby left from his apartment to go for a run. If there was anything that could clear his head, that was it. Stretching out his muscles on the front stairs for a moment, Colby garnered quite a bit of attention from the passersby. Of course, anyone with his body probably would. He could have worn a shirt, but when he was out running like he usually did, it seemed to just get in the way. A bit later, once he had properly warmed up, Colby was off at a jog, winding through the streets of the town with no place in particular to go. Just the feeling of the pavement pounding underneath his feet as he powered through the city was something that helped Colby clear his mind and calm himself down a bit. He knew he was probably a bit absurd for worrying about Lacey as much as he was, but he couldn't help himself. It didn't matter that they were fighting, he just wanted to know that she was doing okay.
Perhaps without even realizing it, Colby's run started to turn towards the direction of Lacey's apartment. It wasn't all too surprising, considering she was more or less all that he was thinking about, but when he glanced up from the pavement for a moment to see where he was, his mouth formed a small "o" of surprise. He hadn't intended to end up in Lacey's neighborhood, but apparently his feet had other plans for the day. At least he had something of a legitimate reason to pop in on her, since he was in the neighborhood and everything. Shaking his head to flick the sweat from his hair, Colby brought his run to a slow as he approached the apartment when Lacey lived. He doubted that she really wanted to see him at the moment, but he wasn't going to just pass on by without at least seeing if she wanted to talk or something. That simply would have felt wrong to the man.
Walking up to the doorway, Colby rapped lightly at the wood and stepped back a bit to wait. He was pretty exhausted from his run and there was sweat glistening everywhere on his body as his chest rose and fell with labored breathes. A moment later, the door opened up and his eyes were instantly drawn to Lacey standing in front of him. The tone to her voice caused him to anxiously scratch at the back of his neck before responded, since he quite hated when they weren't getting along. "I was in the neighborhood passing through on a run. Just wanted to stop by and see how things were goin' for ya," he said, rather gruffly. Blocking off his emotions seemed like a good idea at the time, at least until he could accurately gauge where things stood between he and Lacey.

Even if she was mad at Colby she was glad he stopped by. There was something about him that just completed her life. She wouldn't exactly admit it to anyone especially for herself not right now. Exhaling softly she noticed his attire, and he couldn't deny that he wasn't running. He was sweaty, and thats when she liked her man best of though under different pretenses. She almost allowed her mind to day dream. Though his honest answer, she couldn't help but move aside and allow the man into her place. "It's just like you to be out running around." she said she breathed him in as closed the door after he enter the aparment. It was considerably clean since it seemed she was out on adventures when she wasn't in Colby's arms. Allowing her mind not to be sidetracked by Colby's presence. She grabbed her mug of tea, as she took a large drink of it. It was still considerably warm. "You want something to drink?" she asked, as she found herself leaning on the counter in the kitchen. She was watching him carefully.
As much as her heart wanted to go up to Colby and lay a passionate slap and than a equally passionate kiss on his lips. Though she didn't allow herself to dwell on this situation though her eyes did study the man. "I am not apologizing," she breathed softly, though she was. This is it how it often began. She was to stubborn to do anything different. It drove her nuts how dedicated Colby was to the team. And it just seemed like he never had time for her, it was hard to balance the both of them. Letting her manicured fingers tap against the the counter. She was gearing up for a fight. Though she didn't want to but it seemed like it was going to happen it was almost destined to happen. Wrapping a hand around her glass and bringing it to her lips again. Trying to relax her body. She placed the mug on the counter nearest her other hand. Her hand still wrapped around it. She almost started speaking but here it was it didn't want to come out of her lips.
Which was okay it remained quite for a moment. Letting her thoughts become clustered together. Though as she was trying with all her might to remain calm. Another drink of her tea and giving him the silent treatment only lasted for so long. "Why are you so insecure with me and other lads?" she asked all of a sudden breaking the silence. "It's not like I am going to cheat on you." she said. She made damn sure her legs didn't take her close to him. They needed to have there distance but there was definitely something that needed to happen. Maybe it was because they had been on and off for nearly six years. And she wanted more, she wanted to move in with him. She wanted a ring on her finger, though she though Colby would never deliver on either. He was to preoccupied with his team.
"I just don't feel like I get the attention I want from you." she said, her voice was soft. Her eyes studied him curious to see his reaction to this converstation. "We've been together for a long time, and I still feel like I am competing with your team." she exhaled loudly as she finished her sentence out loud. She turned around allowing her back to be against the counter and having her back facing him. And she didn't even want to see his reaction. "And I don't want to compete anymore." she breathed, she tried to keep her voice from cracking. And controlling those tears of hers. She could become a waterfall if she wasn't careful. She didn't want to start crying in front of him. She hated showing weakness to him, especially to him.

For a moment, Colby had been rather convinced that Lacey was going to just close the door in his face and he would have to turn back around. However, apparently he had done something right and she moved aside to let him into the home. Giving her a quick nod, he slipped in past her and through the door, walking forward a few steps before turning back to face her. "Yeah, we didn't have practice, so I needed it," he replied with a shrug, making polite conversation. He hated when things got like that between them, since it was somewhat awkward. Things between them went between being amazing and just plain weird, but Colby hoped that things would eventually settle for being amazing all of the time. Hovering by the door, Colby nodded at her question. "That would be great, ah, water if you don't mind," he replied, shooting her a grateful smile for a moment before it quickly fell.
It was always weird to Colby when they were fighting, since it was rarely the case that he was genuinely mad at her. It was as if they just found all the little things wrong and decided it was necessary to escalate them to a fight. Not making himself comfortable at Lacey's place was weird as well, since he had always seen it as something of another home for him. Glancing up at her briefly as she spoke, he gave her a solemn shrug. "I didn't expect you to. Like I said, just dropped by to see how you were," Colby replied. He wouldn't have minded attempting to sort through some of their problems and possibly come to some sort of truce about things, but he didn't want to push things. Just being able to talk to her at the moment was enough and he didn't want to say something wrong and end up making things worse than they already were.
A silence fell between them as Colby settled himself at the door, leaning his back against it to get comfortable for a bit. He could tell that Lacey was attempting to keep her distance, which was something that he would respect, even if he didn't particularly want to. Her eyes dropped down to the ground at her question, since he couldn't say he was all too fond of talking about it. It was easily one of their main conflicts as a couple, but it was something that he couldn't help. He loved her more than anything and he hated seeing her around other guys. He knew it wasn't logical to think that she would never have other guys around, but that didn't stop him from being overly jealous. "Guess I just like having you all to myself. I care about you, Lace," he said, sighing slightly. He knew he was starting to get rather sappy and that might as well be considered the start of an apology, but Lacey brought that side of him out more than anyone ever could.
Running a hand through the hair at the back of his head, Colby couldn't really deny that she was probably right about what she was saying. He dedicated a lot of time to his team, to the point where there were certainly times he didn't pay much attention to his girlfriend. As good of a guy as he was, he did have his fault. "You're...yeah, you're right. I should pay a lot more attention to you. You deserve it," he admitted, looking up and over at Lacey to see what she was doing. Her back was to him, however, so he couldn't quite gauge where her head was at the moment. "You shouldn't have to compete. You should be number one." She was his number one, even if sometimes it didn't entirely seem that way. He cared a lot about his team, sure, but Lacey was much more important.

The situation between the two often could get amazing on their best day. And sometimes things like this current problem could just get so difficult to deal with each other. It sometimes came in a blessing that she had her own place away from him so she could have a break from him. Lacey was going to admit she did feel rather stiff since she didn't work out herself. Unlike Colby who was standing there in his work out clothes and it was amazing how a man like him could look good just from rolling out of bed. She herself right now wasn't wearing any make up expect her lip gloss she didn't have too. Not like she was doing anything special.
She could be the high maintenance person and spend forever getting ready but the hang over still lingered over her kept her from doing anything to extreme. She almost betted he was going to ask for a glass of water. Turning her back to him for a second and going to the fridge and grabbing one of the many water bottles she had in the fridge, grabbing one of the unopened ones as she stood on her tip toes to reach a tall glass as poured the water carefully not spilling drop on the counter. And after she handed him the tall glass of water to Colby she stood nearest him for a second. "I hate when we get like this." she said softly to him. Ignoring his second comment about apologizing and that he ad just randomly stopped by. It was going to be plow through some of their arguments.
And if they didn't talk it out now nothing would happen. But hearing his comment about how he wanted her all by herself. "You think that I recently forgot that you cared about me?" she asked honestly. "Colby we both need our space sometimes." she spoke again almost automatically. This seemed like the argument they often had. "You know I love you but when those woman hold up those rubbish signs about marrying them I try and laugh them off.." and this seemed to be getting to a bigger problem something was going on in her head she wasn't sure where she was going with it but she knew since they were already talking about a similar situation with her being with her guy friends.
"And that I hate all the girls throwing themselves at you. But I know at the end of the night I'm the one that gets to be in your arms." it was part of Colby's career she never got use to. Though she often got approached by men. So it was often a two way street when men would gawk at her during the games. Though she would never tell Colby they occasionally grabbed her that would mean the man might get angry though there always was the security of the matches that often took care of them. Because it was better that security to take care of them rather than Colby doing something he might regret.
Turning back to face him as her thoughts were still awry. But hearing his words it nearly made her heart leap out of her chest. She took a step towards Colby, and than another. Soon she was close enough to allow her hand to rest to on his chest. She remained quiet as she allowed her hand to feel his heart beat. Not that it mattered that Colby was all sweaty from his run. She didn't care. "Than let's change it. We both have to work on it." she said softly. Allowing her other hand to touch the top of his shoulder making circles with her fingers. And allowing her other hand to slide up to his other shoulder. Standing up on her tip toes, as she allowed her lips to brush against his. Lacey missed his kisses. Hell she missed his touch in general. She was thinking all she wanted was him. Even if it was only a few hours. When she allowed her lips to pull away from his as she could nestle right into his body but not right on top of the door.
