It has been six months since Loki, and his forces made their attack on Earth. The common people don’t know whether to believe this was an act of terrorism by a mutant, an alien, a God, or what else. Many conspiracy theories have popped up because of Loki’s invasion. The most important information that the American government has confirmed about it is that The Avengers did repel the attack.
Since the attack the Avengers have been featured heavily on television as a means to put a positive spin on the whole fiasco. It has made it known to the world that not only do mutants exist, but superhuman beings of varying types do as well. Human beings have never felt more safe than having human heroes like Iron Man, and Captain America to look up to.
Hollywood has even jumped on the bandwagon quickly auditioning every one of superhuman levels for a reality show featuring an upstart team of young heroes called The Defenders. They have quickly taken over the ratings of television for the drama of what it’s like living as a superhuman hero group under one roof, and maybe even future heroes of The Avengers even.
As for the X-Men they have not quite as good a ride as the up and coming groups getting a wealth of attention. Charles Xavier died in an incident with The Phoenix, and now Scott Summers has taken over Xavier’s School for the Gifted. Scott chose to prove that mutants can live alongside humans even after a Sentinel attack on the school. Scott led the X-Men to Genosha on a successful mission against the robotic enemy of mutant-kind.
The end result of the mission left them with classified information on President Trask that ultimately put him in a vulnerable position. He publicly gave the island of Genosha to mutant-kind to set up their first country. For Trask it being the better solution than having him exposed as plotting to round up, and imprison mutants.
Dr. Hank McCoy was elected by mutants as the first President of Genosha. The Country thrived under President McCoy’s tenure and managed to flourish two cities of impressive design, and size thanks to Stark Industries assistance. Mutants from around to world have begun a mass exodus to the new country in hopes of escaping persecution from their former homelands. New mutant citizens flock in masses daily through Hammer Bay to be processed for citizenship for Genosha. Peace in the country is maintained by government approved authority group X-Force as their police force. Genosha has a long way to go, but is proving quite capable despite the variety of mutants it host.
The world gets crowded more, and more every day. How long before the Avengers must Assemble to defend America or the World from a mutant terrorist, alien entity, demi-god, or X-Men. Can the X-Men trust the Avengers? Can they keep Xavier’s reputation as that of a mere school? What role will the Defenders play in all this world? Can Genosha continue to thrive? This answers can only be answered one way. Have a Marvel-ous day!
