Ellie smiled as Felix took his jacket back. "Thank you," she said almost triumphantly. "And no promises," she winked, taking the firewhiskey out of Erinn's hand, taking a swig. She looked smugly at Felix. Ellie knew she was pissing off her brother, she could just tell. But she felt like she was winning at some sort of battle, an almost war that had been going on since the day Ellie had been born between her and Felix. In her letters, her mother had always told her that he was just looking out for her, and him being an annoying prick was proof he loved her. According to her father, however, it was perfectly justifiable, and sometimes Felix wasn't strict enough. The whole thing drove Ellie nuts, but she still loved them.
Ellie listened to Erinn talking, playfully gagging the whole time. "Please stop talking, please stop talking," she said while Erinn was talking, laughing heartily. She saw Erinn look in Nika's general direction, Ellie's laugh not faltering, but her eyebrows raising into an amused, yet strictly questioning look. "Oh God, the thought of you and my brother freaks me out so hard it's not even funny. If he treated you anywhere near how he treats me, you'd murder him."
Ellie watched her brother walk off with Frankie, her eyes following them across the room. Something seemed up with the both of them, but Ellie couldn't tell what. Probably something stupid Felix has done, she thought, looking back to Erinn. "Probably," Ellie laughed. "I have a feeling Felix is gonna have a 'party' with at least one girl tonight, if not more. And I'm not even allowed to have a party with some firewhiskey. Well screw that," she smiled as she took a rather large swig of the alcohol. "Let's have one hell of a time."

Now that she had confirmation from both Nika and Ellie that they'd be happy to join in the drinking, Erinn didn't see how anything could go wrong that night. Obviously, if they were all completely drunk, nothing bad could happen and on the off chance that it did, they likely wouldn't remember it. It was perfect. Then, when Frankie went off, dragging Felix with her, it was even better. Felix wouldn't be there to stop them, since he'd be distracted by Frankie and they could do whatever the hell they wanted. Which, in Erinn's case, meant getting completely and utterly wasted to the point that it didn't matter who was there or who she wanted to be there or anything at all. All that would matter was that she was having a damn good time.
At Nika's comment about having someone in mind, Erinn glanced up curiously, frowning when she saw Nika's eyes trail over to the dance floor, where there were any number of people that she could be interested in. Fuck that, Erinn was getting drunk. Then it wouldn't matter who Nika was interested in at all. Glancing back at Ellie to see a questioning look, Erinn simply shrugged it off, acting as if it were nothing. Obviously, that was the biggest plan for the night, to make sure that Ellie didn't get any ideas at all that might lead her to believe Erinn had any sort of interest in Nika at all. Of course, how likely that was to happen still depended on how drunk the group of them got and how well Erinn could play it off as absolutely nothing.
She snorted a bit at Ellie's comment and nodded her agreement. "Trust me, love, your brother is the last person that I have any intention of getting with tonight," Erinn chuckled, resisting the urge to let her eyes trail back over to Nika in search of whatever reaction might come from her at that statement. Her nose crinkled up a bit at Ellie's suggestion that Felix would be off "partying" all night with Merlin knew who, most likely her older sister. Awkward. "Eugh, don't even go there. Please? Aha, I vote that we just pretend they don't exist for the rest of the night and get so wasted that we don't know who they are," she nodded, letting Ellie take the bottle for a quick swig before taking it back with a grin. Yeah, tonight would be bloody awesome.
Her attention flickered away from the bottle when she felt it being tugged from her hands once again, this time by Nika. This time, however, it didn't seem that there was any chance of her getting it back. The look on Nika's face spelled trouble and to be honest, Erinn wasn't sure how opposed to that she was. Her eyebrow raised into an arch, threatening Nika to try her. No one messed with Erinn and her alcohol when she was on a quest to get schwasted. Reaching back out, Erinn put a hand at the neck of the bottle, placing it so that the bottom of her hand was lightly brushing up against the top of Nika's hand. A smirk arose on Erinn's face, issuing a challenge to the other girl. "You're going to want to give that back, Nika dearest," she commented, almost forgetting that she was supposed to be avoiding this sort of confrontation while Ellie was there next to her.

Kaiya’s muscles tightened up slightly when Dean placed his hands on the small of her back. She was definitely hyperventilating in her mind and there was nothing she could do to calm herself down. She kept moving with him, keeping up with his pace. The girl wasn’t a bad dancer, though she wasn’t too great at it. Either way, she kept dancing and eventually calmed down. Kai draped her arms over his shoulders. This was definitely something that she would want to get used to. As the boy hummed in her ear she smiled.
“Mhmm,” the girl said as she smiled and looked up into his dazzling green eyes. His eyes seemed to hit Kaiya like a freight train. She was mesmerized and she could feel her own heart melting as he asked if she wanted to go somewhere quiet. Of course she did, though she didn’t know what he had in mind. “That sounds good,” she said, blushing slightly as she tore he eyes away from his. “What place are you thinking of?”

Nodding in agreement to her first comment, Louis turned a slight shade of red when she said that he was super adorable. Chuckling a bit, he turned away from her with a shake of his head. "Yeah, yeah. Poke fun all you want," he laughed, though not at all mean-spiritedly. He didn't mind it much, since at least adorable was a good thing. A bit embarrassing, sure, but Louis didn't care. He was confident enough in his manhood that he could take getting called adorable every so often. "I'm sure eventually my being adorable will pay off, right?" he added with a rather jovial shrug. Obviously, there were probably plenty of girls out there looking for someone adorable and Louis was happy to fit that bill.
Settling into a comfortable position as they started to dance, Louis couldn't help but laugh a bit at her somewhat compliment in regard to his dancing. "Ah, thanks. I guess I tried my best, so that's all I can ask for, yeah?" he nodded. He raised an eyebrow slightly at her obvious lack of their other, less than personable teammate. Of course, Louis wasn't about to correct her on that one, since he pretty much felt that Megan definitely had no place in the list of people that did well. Besides, he was pretty sure that she and Belle had some sort of conflict from way back when and was happy to be on Belle's side in the matter. "But, yeah, I think we did pretty well given the circumstances," he agreed. The circumstances, of course, were Megan, but he didn't feel that there was a need to specify.
Tilting his head off to the side a bit, Louis looked like he was deeply analyzing what she was saying. "Ya know what, I think we were probably the coolest kids in school before this. Now we're just like, all time legends," he joked, grinning a bit as he led the dance into a short twirl. He had never been one to be far too concerned with being popular or anything, as long as he had a few friends, he was pretty much happy. "So, Belle, got your eye on any of the other guys around the dance?" he asked, raising an eyebrow in question. He liked to make sure that he looked out for Belle when he could and keeping up on her life helped him do that. Well, that and of course he could be a bit nosy sometimes.

For a moment Frankie forgot that she had just slipped into one of her embarrassing rambles, her eyes were focused on Felix's face and there was a smile pulling at the corners of her lips. Seeing the great, powerful and confident Felix stumbling over his words was kind of very amusing and more than a little endearing. It was refreshing to see that he was actually human and not some perfect sex-god like half the female population of the school seemed to believe. When Felix commented that he sort of liked her too, Frankie felt her smile tighten at the corners of her mouth a little and she had to drop her head to hide her face. Of course hearing your crush tell you, albeit in an awkward unsure tone, that he likes you too should have sent her heart into a skipping frenzy. Except Frankie knew the rep Felix had, so she really wasn't sure what to make of knowing this information.
At the moment Felix was being sweet and reassuring and pretty cool about her freaking out over the night they'd spent together. But Frankie had heard time and time again about how much of a huge playboy flirt he was. Who was to say he wasn't playing her right now? Maybe the sweet, reassuring attitude was all an act? Maybe she'd been right about being just another name on a list.. That pissed Frankie off but she quickly realized that if she had been another girl on the list then Felix wouldn't be bothering with her right now. Maybe this was just Felix being Felix, minus the flirting and ego. Frankie had always liked to think there was something more behind his stunning looks and super large ego, because there had to be something more, right? A lot of the time she pinned down her wondering if there was something more to Felix, to the fact that she was crushing on him. Eesh, she was like a first year with her stupid crush.
Felix's subtle cough was enough to pull Frankie back to reality and she blinked a couple of times to refocus on what it was they were talking about. "Oh." She shrugged, attempting her best 'non-chalant' look "..yeah, sure. It was just some fun right?" She plastered on her best smile but couldn't quite meet his gaze, she totally failed at lying sometimes but she wasn't about to let up that she was feeling anything but okay. Turning her eyes towards a group of girls across the hall, Frankie pulled her smile into a resolute frown. If Felix could be okay with it then she could too. There was no point feeling upset or angry over something that's already happened. But despite knowing this she still felt miserable inside. Frankie needed to change the subject and now, before her head ended up frazzled.
It was then, as Frankie was staring at the girls across the hall that she noticed they were staring right back. Okay, weird. Why were they staring? Hell, it looked like some of them were glaring right at her. "Uh, why are those girls staring at me?" She said under her breath and indicated with a subtle nod of her head towards the direction of the glaring females. "They're staring right?" Frankie asked for confirmation, a somewhat amused smile on her face. "Is there something in my hair...?" though she doubted that was hardly reason for being on the receiving end of death-glares. But why else... The reason clicked then and Frankie couldn't help but roll her eyes and throw her head back a little with laughter.
"I don't think your fan club like that I'm dancing with you." she grinned up at Felix, amusement dancing in her eyes.

The last thing that Felix wanted was for Frankie to think that it meant nothing to him. Though he very rarely went so far with anyone as to admit he genuinely liked them or whatever, he hated for them to believe that it meant nothing. His reputation was something that, in instances like this, seemed to come in the way. He'd never tell anyone otherwise, though, since he liked having that reputation. It made him interesting, not just some normal guy that dated and did normal things. Perhaps, in some ways, it probably wasn't the best for him in the long run, but he didn't ever think that far ahead. However, he knew that somehow he would probably have to figure out how to show Frankie that he wasn't just doing it because and that, even if he flirted around with everyone, he didn't just sleep with anyone. Even if they didn't end up a serious thing, he didn't want her to think he was a total manwhore.
A slight frown graced his face at her comment, shrugging a bit in response. Just fun? Is that what Frankie thought about it? Sure, Felix had definitely had fun doing it, but it wasn't something that he thought of as just whatever. Flirting, sure. He'd do that with anyone, whenever, all the time. Sex, however, was different. It meant something. However, it seemed that Frankie didn't share that thought and for some reason, Felix was a bit surprised. He was pretty sure that she flirted around sometimes, but he'd never seen her as the type of girl that would just have arbitrary sex. "Just fun? I mean, if that's what it was to you, than alright," he shrugged, his voice clearly revealing a bit of hurt behind it. However, he wasn't going to go into that at all. He wasn't the type to get into mushy talks at all, especially not with girls. That was just too much.
Raising an eyebrow at her comment, Felix glanced back to see what it was that Frankie was talking about. When he looked over, a chuckle broke free from his mouth and a grin took over his face. "Nah, it's not you, it's me. It happens, you know," he nodded. Yes, Felix had a fanclub. Well, technically it was also Gabe's fanclub, but he was quite positive that it was mostly for him. After all, he was The Felix and all girls were in love with him. Well, most of them anyways. "They're probably pretty jealous. The Felixians get a bit possessive when I'm with pretty girls," he commented with a slight chuckle and a wink. Sometimes, he quite loved having a fan club. It always made him feel special and definitely made it easier for him to get girls. After all, there was pretty much a list of them waiting for him to give them attention.
Giving the group a bit of a wave and a waggle of his eyebrows, he turned back to Frankie with an amused snort as they seemed to scatter. "What say you and I just make them even more jealous, eh?" he offered, looking at Frankie with a slightly devilish smirk. He probably shouldn't have been going there, what with the talks that they were currently having, but sometimes he just couldn't help himself. Biting down on his lip in a show of something akin to nervousness, he dropped his head for a moment and gave her a shy smile. "Sorry, probably shouldn't say that now, yeah?" he asked, glancing back up at her from under his bangs. It was rare that Felix got like this, but in a situation that was as serious as this, he was a bit different, more vulnerable.

Belle gave Louis a knowing look when he commented that they did well given the circumstances. It was nice to know that it wasn't just Belle who thought Megan hadn't been all that helpful or productive. For a moment Belle had thought she might have been overreacting due to the touchy history she shared with the Slytherin. Belle laughed a little when Louis stated that they were know all time legends, her grin growing when he led the dance out into a twirl. Belle didn't think he was a bad dancer at all, in fact he was kind of good at ball room dancing, if that was what this was.
Belle was considering taking Louis' hand so that she could do a twirl on her own, because she liked the way her skirt whirled out but stopped mid-thought when he asked about boys. "Uh, well.." she started and did a pretend sweep of the area, as if to show that she was checking out the boys in the hall, "Not really." she smiled at Louis and shrugged her shoulders. "Belle and boys are a bad mix." she joked with a strained grin. Boys were a sore spot for Belle, simply because she didn't have a clue when it came down to the opposite sex. Sure she hung out with them but dating them was a whole different scene and not one she had any game in. At all. It was sort of embarrassing and not something she liked to talk about.
"Are you meeting up with someone tonight?" Belle asked, attempting to take the focus from herself to Louis.

Frankie couldn't quite believe that Felix had an actual fan club. The very idea of it was mental and Frankie didn't know whether to laugh out loud or gape like a fish. Sure, Frankie knew that Felix was a very popular guy; he was top Quidditch player and very good looking. But a fan club? Wasn't that sort of weird? Frankie thought so. "The Felixians?" She repeated and curled her lips into a tight line in an attempt to stop herself from laughing, the fact that she found the whole idea beyond funny and ridiculous was evident by the look on her face.
Felix clearly loved the idea of having fan girls which Frankie thought was typical. What boy wouldn't love a group of girls obsessing over them? Sometimes Frankie wasn't surprised Felix was the way he was, what with all the attention he got, it'd be hard not to turn into an egotistical flirt. The urge to hug Felix closer in an (immature) attempt to annoy the glaring girls was huge and it seemed Felix had something similar in mind. Frankie returned his smirk with a sly, playful smile of her own. Teasing them would be kind of fun and Frankie was already thinking up ideas before reality sunk in and her smile faded. "Um..." Frankie grumbled mentally, it was always so easy to forget serious things around Felix. Which was one of the reasons she liked him, because with him she could just chill and have a laugh. Usually that was a good thing, but right now it wasn't, given the serious moment they'd been having.
Unsure of what to say, Frankie waited on in silence for Felix to speak. When he did Frankie couldn't help but stare at him, her expression a mix of awe and surprise. To say that her head was in a jumble might have been an understatement. She'd already been confused over Felix's somewhat hurt tone after she'd brushed off their one-night stand as 'just fun', and now there he was acting all shy and cute, showing her a side of himself that she'd never seen before; confusing her even further. "Probably not..." she agreed with a small smile, tilting her head to the side so that she was looking at him from an angle. "But I don't think things could get any more awkward or confusing between us." she grinned and lifted her shoulders up into a slow shrug. "So..." closing the small space between their bodies, Frankie pressed her lips against Felix's in a short, tentative kiss. Once she pulled back she gave him a shy smile of her own "Sorry." she said, her smile slipping into a cheeky grin, making it clear that she wasn't as sorry as she sounded. "But I think it worked." she commented and glanced to the fan girls, who looked like they might hex Frankie into the afterlife. "Yeah..." she trailed off into a nervous chuckle "Maybe that was a bad idea." If looks could kill Frankie was positive she'd be dust.

Nika smiled her usual devilish grin and tightened her grip on the bottle. "You might want to rethink taking liquor away from a Slytherin," the girl spoke mellifluously. She spoke subconsciously, the words just poured out of her mouth. This girl wasn't feeling so generous today, nor did she really feel generous any day. She was just that kind of girl. Nika was the kind of girl that got what she wanted. Sometimes what she requests just comes to her, other times she has to work for it. Times like this.
The corners of Nika's lips curved into a smirk. She knew what she wanted and she knew exactly how to get it. "Do you really want this back? she asked, taunting the girl. Nika looked into Erinn's dark eyes, "I'll let go if you kiss me." At this point, the girl couldn't care less who was with them. As long as Derora wasn't anywhere near the scene and Frankie was off dancing with Felix, there was no one to worry about.

Admittedly, Louis had been expecting at least a little hesitation when he asked his question about boys. He knew that, though she was comfortable hanging out with them, she wasn't nearly as confident when it came to anything remotely romantic. It was always something that Louis found to be rather endearing about Belle. She was quite pretty, at least in his opinion, but she wasn't overly haughty and didn't just go around assuming everyone wanted her. It was refreshing to have someone like Belle and she was definitely one of his favorite people to be around. "Awh, Belle. I'm sure any one of those guys out there would kill to be dancing with you. Just so happens, I'm the lucky one that gets to," he commented with a wide grin, giving her a bit of a wink as he spoke.
Of course, even if he was extremely complimentary about Belle and her possible love life, he was in no way similar in regard to his own. He was pretty much positive that he'd likely just be in the friend zone for just about every girl that he ever met. It kind of sucked, but he liked having friends, so he didn't complain. "Nah, it's just me tonight. Though, I'm sure there are plenty of young women eager to be with me tonight. You, however, are my super lucky pick of the day," he commented, unable to keep from chuckling as he said it. Obviously, there was no line of people looking to dance with little Louis that evening or any other evening, but that didn't stop him from being ever optimistic about that and generally everything else in his life. He'd find someone when he found someone and that was plenty enough for him.

Feeling Nika's hand tighten around the bottle, Erinn had a feeling that this wasn't going to go well. At least, not well in the sense of her being able to keep herself from acting on her growing drunkness and feelings for Nika. However, perhaps this would be good for her. Even if Ellie was right there with them, she could pass anything she did off as a drunken mistake brought on by the challenge put forth by a Slytherin rival. That was definitely in character for Erinn, so it could work. She just hoped that Ellie didn't take anything too seriously. Her eyes locked on to Nika's, the look on her face making her that much more determined to get her damn bottle back. "And you might want to rethink taking it away from me," Erinn said with a smirk. Obviously, she was just as badass as Nika and definitely not the sort of person you'd ever want to mess with.
However, even with her confidence at it's height, the second Nika made her demand, all the wind was let out of Erinn's sails. That was, admittedly, the last thing that she had been expecting Nika to say and she had no idea how to respond. Hell, her first thought was to go for it, but her eye flashed over to Ellie before she even started to make any sort of move. Ellie could understand that it was just in the interest of getting her alcohol back right? Right. Of course. She could damage control later if it was absolutely necessary, besides. "You're damn right I want it back. That shit was expensive," Erinn commented, avoiding the subject for just a moment longer. Maybe if she did it quickly, Ellie wouldn't even know what was happening. The other girl was a bit caught up spying on Felix, after all. Sort of. Not really. Damn.
Biting her lip for a second, Erinn breathed in and moved forward, pushing her slight worries to the side. Dropping her hand from the bottle of alcohol, Erinn placed her hands on Nika's shoulders, and leaned in, quickly pressing her lips against Nika's for just a moment, kissing her before pulling back away with a smug look. Clearly, this meant nothing more than her winning the bet against the Slytherin, right? However, it was quite difficult for Erinn to hold back the smile that was threatening to bubble up onto her face. "Well, my alcohol than?" she asked once she had fought back any emotions other than the sense of smug, pride that she currently had. It wasn't exactly the dominant feeling, but she exuded it as such, just to keep any questioning looks down.

Ellie stared over in Felix and Frankie's general direction. She wondered what they were talking about, and she figured it was something awkward and serious, by the expressions on their faces. Felix had his sideways somewhat smile on, indicating that he was uncomfortable and somewhat serious.
Ellie turned back to the interaction going on in front of her. Erinn seemed a bit tense, which was odd, considering she had any alcohol in her system at all. She mostly knew inebriated Erinn as running around, making out with people, laughing too much, and yelling at Ellie how much fun she was having, and that Ellie was stupid for not drinking. Ellie wondered what was wrong with Erinn this time, and promised to find out what was going on, if it didn't come up itself. Ellie was starting to feel her head buzz a bit, since she was so lightweight, alcohol affected her quickly. "You are going to tell me wassupp," she whispered in Erinn's ear, hoping only the two of them could hear it. "But later," she said, grabbing the bottle out of Erinn's hand again.

OUTFIT
To be honest, Ty hadn't really even intended to go to the ball. He'd been sick for most of the week and hadn't made it to the match, so he figured that he probably wouldn't make it to the ball. However, now that the night had come along and everyone else was down there having a good time, he wanted to be there. Technically, he was better. A bit tired, but definitely better than before, so Ty rolled out of bed to put on some more formal attire. Honestly, he didn't really want to change from his jammies, but he had to look good for the ladies, of course. He didn't know who all would be there, so he certainly had to look sharp. Well, at least better than pajamas anyways. Throwing on an outfit that was at least a bit more classy, Ty was quite satisfied and left from the Gryffindor tower to head downstairs.
It was a bit of a walk, of course, and by the time he was down there he was already feeling much worse. Of course, that wasn't going to stop him from heading into the party for a bit. He'd find someone to chat at for a bit and maybe by then he'd feel a bit more up to some dancing or something. Strolling into the already crowded hall, he looked around a bit to see who was around. Felix was there, but he looked to be in some pretty intense discussions with Frankie and Ty didn't want to invade on that one. Then, there was Erinn. He'd dated Erinn for just over a year and for whatever reason, she'd dumped him and he definitely still wasn't too pleased by that. He didn't want her back, by any means, but he couldn't help but be a bit bitter about the whole ordeal. She was with Ellie there and some chick he didn't know and that seemed like the best bet for the moment.
Moving around a couple groups of people, he entered into where the three were, instantly sensing some sort of tension between them. However, he felt it best to pretend that he didn't pick up on it and cracked a smile. "Ladies, how's it going? Looking good, Ellie," he said with a wink, purposely ignoring the fact that Erinn also looked pretty damn good. "Haven't already been picked up for a dance?" he asked, raising an eyebrow inquisitively. Obviously, it just wouldn't do to have all these pretty girls standing about alone when Ty was on the scene. His eyes flicked down to see that the three had already brought out the alcohol, which he wasn't about to complain over. Hell, that was probably a good thing where Erinn was concerned. Perhaps she might actually be civil towards him for once.

It was pretty obvious that Frankie found it terribly amusing that Felix had his own fanclub, but he was pretty used to that reaction from people. To most people,. it seemed a bit ridiculous to have a fanclub, but not to Felix. He found it to be the most natural thing in the world, really. There were enough girls in love with him to make one and certainly, the benefits of it far outweighed any negatives. Which, when he thought about it, there really weren't any negatives to having a fanclub. He got gift baskets, had girls gushing over him constantly, and generally was adored. It was pretty much the life.Besides, Felix had a ridiculously oversized ego and it took a damn lot of girls to keep it happy.
Giving Frankie a smug grin, he nodded a bit at her questioning look. "Yeah, we voted on a name last year at our inaugural meeting and that's the one that stuck," he said with a proud grin. Obviously, that was a pretty big accomplishment in his book, even if everyone else seemed to think he was utterly ridiculous. Felix thought it was pretty brilliant of himself to keep the group around, since it put all the flirting, giggly girls to use. It was better to accept them and embrace the power he had than to get irritated with them all the time and try to push them to the side. Indulging them made them happy enough that they weren't at his throat constantly, which was nice. It gave him a few moments peace when he needed it.
As the moment turned back to being slightly awkward, Felix's head dropped for a moment. He hated when things were like that and kind of just wanted to put all that behind them and go back to being normal. Looking back at Frankie, a light smile took over when he saw the look on her face. Even if things were awkward, it was starting to lighten up and he was more than happy to go along with whatever she wanted to do. His smile rose into a grin when she closed the space between them and he gladly kissed her back. That was much better than staying in the awkward, not really sure what to say spot where they had been. Even if that had the potential to make things worse later, it was helping for the moment and that was all Felix could really ask for.
Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the rather devastated looks coming from the Felixians and he let out a bit of a chuckle. "Don't worry, they'll get over it. They always do. Though, I find it's always easier for them if we just keep it up," he said with a wink. It was a very obvious, very fail excuse to get her to kiss him again, but that was just how Felix was. He made up dumb, but undeniably cute, reasons. However, he wasn't about to initiate anything at the moment, just to be on the safe side. There was no telling sometimes with girls just where they wanted to go with things and sometimes, Felix found it safest to just stand back and wait a bit. That way, he couldn't get in trouble for it.

Gabriella hurried down the corridor, her red heels clicking loudly against the stone slabs of concrete that made up the castles floor. Of course she had to be the one to show up to the ball two hours late. Not that she minded being late, but everyone would be having a good time with their friends already and well, she'd wanted to start the night with her friends too. Why she couldn't have left her History of Magic essay for tomorrow was beyond her, or maybe not. Gabby hated leaving things half finished. She liked to get things done then and there, so that it was something else she could tick off her list. Though to be honest, the essay hadn't taken her all that long, It had been deciding what to wear that had taken up a good hour.
Gabriella wasn't exactly fashion forward, she had a laid back approach to fashion and only owned a few summer dresses, nothing fancy. In fact the only half decent 'going-out' dress she owned had been an old one of Ari's. Gabby had fallen in love with it years ago but it hadn't fit her then so she'd kept it. It fit perfectly now, it was just too bad that Gabby wasn't thrilled at the idea of wearing it. But if she didn't wear it then she wouldn't be going to the ball, so rather than miss it she threw on the dress and ended up coming down late. Better late than never, was what she told herself as she concentrated on reaching her destination without breaking a leg. (Running in heels wasn't one of her brightest ideas.)
"Sorry!" she apologized when she turned a corner and ran straight into a pair of loved up students caught in a lip-lock. "Oh, yuck." she half frowned and half grimaced after the pair simply glanced at her and then went right on back to their snogging. "They have places for that you know." she called back over her shoulder as she headed towards the Great Hall. "Like your dorm, maybe.. or i don't know.. the toilets?" Her words of sarcasm were falling on deaf ears but she hadn't really been expecting them to be paying her any attention. Pushing the not-so-pleasant mental image of the two she'd run into to the back of her mind, (really, they looked like two dogs slobbering all over each other) Gabby slowed to a stop outside the doors.
Walking into the Hall, Gabby glanced up toward the ceiling and then lowered her eyes to take in the rest of the directions and the students dancing inside. Once she'd stepped further into the hall, she did a scan of the large crowd to see if she could spot any of her friends. It was hard to see anyone she knew, what with all the swarming bodies, so she decided she'd get a drink first and headed over to the bar. "Butterbeer please."she smiled at the bartender and then turned so that she was leaning against the bar but still able to see everyone in the hall. She was sure she'd spot at least one friend sooner or later.
