When Sage walked down into the commons room, a rather amused grin appeared on Thayne's face. It was a look that he quickly toned down as soon as she spoke, since he was quite certain that she would hold him to that deal. "Not a word. You look lovely, Sage," he replied, a very solemn nod accompanying his comment. Offering his arm out to the girl, Thayne was quite ready to get going. "Shall we head out than? We wouldn't want to be late," he said, looking over at her expectantly. Thayne was in no danger of being late, of course, since that just wasn't his style, but being quite early was always preferable to the boy. He was sure that both of their parents were already at the event, so he felt that the earlier they arrived, the more pleased their parents would be.

It took a few moments more of pacing about for Damien to slightly calm down a bit. Slowing to a stop, Damien pivoted on his heel, nearly yelping in surprise when he saw that Aislin was already there and watching him. Perfect. Now she probably thought he was an absolute lunatic. "Ah..you, you look...really good," he stammered, trying to at least get a compliment out before she decided that she'd much rather just find someone that wasn't a nervous wreck to go with. "Should we ah, get uh, going?" he asked, hoping that she would be ready to leave from the castle. Hopefully he would be able to calm himself down with all the activity and such that the actual event would hold and he would find himself in a much more comfortable position.

Sage sighed solemnly as the grin that was displayed on Thayne’s face vanished as quickly as it had come. Yes, she knew she wasn’t going to live this one down. She looked normal, and after everything Sage had done to make sure she was anything but. ”Not a word. You look lovely, Sage,” Thayne replied with a solemn nod. That made her smile a little bit, at least tonight wouldn’t be completely unbearable. ”Thank you, and if I may say, you look Quite handsome yourself... really classy.”
she said with a nod. He should have been going with someone who matched his level of class, but alas, he was stuck with Sage... not that she minded in the slightest ”Shall we head out than? We wouldn’t want to be late,” he said and Sage grimaced slightly. Tonight could either be fun or go bad for Sage, and she prayed people from other houses wouldn’t recognize the toned down her. ”I suppose...” she said rather nervously as she took the arm Thayne offered. Sage swore if she heard one word from her parents that they made an attractive couple that she would lose it. She wanted tonight to be lovely and peaceful and not attention drawing, quite the opposite from the usual sage. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Aislin found herself nearly on the verge of falling over from containing her giggles, and when Damien turned around and yelped she found herself let quite a few slip. He looked like he was going to faint! ”Ah...you, you look... really good,” he stammered out and Aislin felt herself nodding and giving him a rather cocky grin. ”Thanks Damien, you look pretty hot yourself. Hopefully I’m not making your nervous, now am I?”
she asked teasing her friend. She didn’t want him to have a nervous breakdown on her now, who else would escort her to the dance? She could have asked anybody, but not just anybody passed her standards. Damien was part of the lucky few. ”Should we ah, get uh, going?” he asked and Aislin nodded ”Ready whenever you are captain! I’m ready to use my mad skillz and get me some cool stuff.” she said trying to lighten up the mood and make Damien more comfortable. She knew he could be awkward, she loved it about him, but she needed him not broken for this evening events. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Ministry Events were something Summer both loved and loathed. She loved them because she got to dress up in something amazing, have herself pampered and parade herself around like a princess. She loathed them because they were usually boring affairs that involved having your ear talked off by a number of creepy old men. Luckily this event required that you bring a date, reducing the chances of being hit on continually by married wizards to a bare minimum. Summer doubted anyone would make a move with Jace at her side. Provided he stay at her side through the night. Jace could be unpredictable at the best of times, it wouldn't suprise her at all if he ended up wandering off half way through the night. Of course Summer would have to murder him if he did decide to ditch her. No one ditched Summer Avery and got away with it.
Tucking a stray wisp of hair behind her ear, it was pulled up into an intricate bun, Summer did a half twirl in her floaty blue prom style dress and gave her reflection a smug smile. Yes, she looked amazing. No, she didn't care that she was vain. Where was the harm in appreciating yourself? Grabbing her clutch, Summer breezed from her room and down to the commons to meet her date for the night. A smirk pulled at the corner of her lips when her eyes landed on Jace and his leather jacket. If her date had been anyone else, she might have flipped at the fact that they hadn't really made any effort to dress up in a tux. But Summer knew very well that Jace did what Jace wanted and he was hardly the tux wearing type. Besides, Jace looked very sexy in his leather jacket. "Don't you look handsome" Summer smiled, a little flirtacious and eyed him over with an appreciative grin. She did love herself a bad boy, even if he could be a complete arse.

Classy was certainly a descriptor that Thayne was pleased with, no doubt. He liked to know that he at least passed the standards that Sage set, which hopefully would mean that the rest of the people they ran into for the night would think the same. Thayne couldn't quite place the feeling, but it seemed to him like Sage was oddly nervous about going to the event for some reason. Really, he'd never known Sage to be a very nervous person, so he had no idea what was going on in that sense. Hopefully she wasn't just disappointed that she was going with him once again. "You alright?" he asked as they started to head out towards the exit of the castle. He wanted to be sure that everything was fine with Sage before they apparated away to the Ministry, just so that they could have a good time when they got there.

Was she making him nervous? More than anything. Would Damien admit to that? No way in hell. He at least needed to preserve some sense of manly pride about him, even if he looked like an utter pansy at the moment. "Ah, n-no, just...haven't been to a big...thing like this before," he nodded. While it was entirely true that he'd never been to such an event, that was hardly the reason for his jitters. A bit of a grin appeared on his face when she assured him that she was ready to get going and he happily started off towards the bottom of the castle so that they could floo out of there. "Do you think you'll get anything good?" he asked, deciding that conversation about little things like this would be much easier than conversation about just about anything else. And it was most certainly better than getting stuck in an awkward silence.

Though he hadn't been there long at all, the more time that Jace spent waiting, the more irritated that he got. He didn't really even want to be at the event in the first place, but being forced to wait around for Summer was just misery. Fortunately, she came just in time for Jace not to be overly irritated and she looked extremely gorgeous, so his irritation quickly fled. With her compliment, a genuine grin arose on the boys face. It wasn't often that people got the stamp of approval from Summer Avery, so if she approved of his looks than he must have been doing something right. "Yeah, well, you know," he shrugged, a confident smirk on his face as he spoke. "You look hot too. Ready to get out of here?" he asked, raising an eyebrow expectantly. He didn't really know what would be in store for them at the event, but it had to be better than standing around waiting to leave. Hopefully.

Sage watched as Thayne became pleased with description of him that she had used. He was always classy, Sage just thought he looked classier in a suit and tie than in Hogwarts standard uniform, or his regular clothes. ”You alright?” Thayne asked and Sage gave him a meek a smile. She’d be fine... eventually. She just didn’t want to deal with the family much. Lord knew she’d get to deal with her mother after the thing. ”Yeah, just, don’t worry about it.”
she said giving him the cool brush off that she used with most people when she was feeling... irritated or upset. She did seem to forget that half of the time it never seemed to work on Thayne. It was just something she did instinctively when someone tried getting close to her. She was shorter than Thayne tonight, she was lacking the height her boots gave her. She found herself resting her head on his shoulder, lost in thinking about how the night would go. It would be... different, that was for sure. She just prayed that there wouldn’t be any talk of marriage, she was too young to be thinking about that at this point in her life anyway. Aislin was feeling as lose and as free as a bird. She was going to kick ass and take names tonight, and drag Damien into as much trouble as she could get herself into! [”Ah, n-no, just... haven’t been to a big...thing like this before,” he stuttered out with a nod. Aislin shrugged, she wouldn’t question it. Damien wouldn’t lie to her about it, he knew how personal she took lying. Aislin cut loose of all moral judgement when you lied to her or pissed her off... she was shocked that she had yet to be expelled. Maybe it was her talent with healing that kept her around, but she was at Hogwarts to stay. ”Do you think you’ll get anything good?” Damien asked and Aislin grinned wickedly. ”Heck yeah! You can count on it that I’m going to get everything I want. Those rich bobble heads won’t know what hit them!”
Aislin said deviously. And if she didn’t get what she wanted, well, that’s where the explosives came in. She had a few tricks up her sleeves that she could still use. Aislin didn’t like losing much. She was a Gryffindor after all. ”What about you? Gonna make any bets?” she asked curiously. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

With most people, Thayne just let them go about their business without really bothering them or anything of the sort. However, when it came to Sage, he was the exact opposite. If something was bothering her, than he felt it was only proper that he knew what it was and was able to help her deal with it. "You can talk about it, you know. Whatever it is," he assured her as they started to leave. He had a feeling that it probably had to do with the fact that they would soon be around their parents and all of the other "upperclass" people that would report back to their parents, but he didn't want to broach the subject without being sure. Opening up the entrance to the commons, Thanye let Sage leave in front of him before closing the door behind them and continuing down the corridor. "We've got the entire walk to Hogsmeade to talk," he pointed out with a smile.

Aislin always seemed to have this never ending source of energy that Damien could never quite match, which was one of the reasons that he had become quite taken with her. She was always interesting to be around and there would never, ever be a dull moment while she was in the room. Giving her quite the smile at her response, Damien nodded his approval at her plan. "Sounds like you've got this whole betting thing in the bag," he commented with a slight chuckle. He honestly didn't think he himself would be betting on anything, but if something interesting came up than he might have a go at at it. "We'll see. Guess it depends on if there's anything useful," he shrugged. He was mostly just going to have a good time and be around Aislin for awhile. Reaching the end of the stairs, Damien opened up the door to the castle to let them out. "Ah, I guess we should probably head over to Hogsmeade and floo from there or something?" he suggested, figuring that would be the easiest way to get there without being able to apparate.

”You can talk about it, you know. Whatever it is,” he said assuring her as they started to leave. Sage would rather not talk about it, with anyone, but this was Thayne and she trusted him.... a lot more than she trusted her mom and sister for the record. She just didn’t want to disappoint her parents. That’s why she took up Quidditch, that’s why she joined the Death Squad, that’s why she did half of the things she did. She just didn’t want to disappoint, well, anyone. ”I know”
Sage said slipping through the common entrance, Thayne followed after her. ”We’ve got the entire walk to Hogsmeade to talk,” he pointed out with a smile. Sage couldn’t not smile back at him and she nodded. ”I just... I don’t want to disappoint them, you know?” she said as they walked down the corridor. ”But all I ever hear from them is how they expect me to keep our line going strong, to keep the blood pure. Honestly, I think my mother’s planning my wedding already without even asking for my consent! I want to play Quidditch after I graduate, not become a housewife.” Sage said the very thought repulsing her. She could never picture herself as a doting wife and mother, it wasn’t an impossible thought... just not right now, or in the near future for her. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

It always made Thayne feel pretty good when Sage let her guard down and just talked about things with him. Usually, she wasn't that fond of talking about feelings or problems or anything of the sort with people, but on the odd occasion he was able to get things out of her. He definitely understood what she meant about not wanting to disappoint the family, but he himself had taken a different route to dealing with it. Instead of following along with whatever his parents wanted, Thayne was subtly rebelling in his own way by joining up with the Marauders and trying to right their wrongs. "I think that in this day and age, it should be about what you want and not about...pleasing the family line and keeping old traditions alive. Things are changing and we should be too," he replied as they started to get to the outside of the castle. "I'll do what I can to keep you away from them. Certainly they can't be too angry if you're busy on the dance floor with myself, right?" he questioned with a light gleam in his eye. He wasn't big on dancing, but he could deal with it for Sage.

”Sounds like you’ve got this whole betting thing in the bad,” Damien said and Aislin nodded her head. Of course she did! She had been waiting for this event to happen for weeks! She’d saved up and increased her prices. She was making damn sure she was getting what she wanted if it lost her an alliance or two. ”Damien, when have I ever not had anything in the metaphorical bag?”
she asked, teasing him again. She found herself all but skipping down the stairs. ”We’ll see. Guess it depends on if there’s anything useful,” he said with a shrug. At this point they had reached the end of the stairs, and Damien ahd opened the door for Aislin to walk through. She grinned as she wrapped her arm around his as they exited. ”Hey, you just better not bet on anything I want, I refuse to lose... even to you.” she said. ”Ah, I guess we should probably head over to Hogsmeade and floo from there or something?” he suggested. Floo would be the easiest way... but not the funnest. She liked using port keys but they were a pain in the butt to get a hold of and make. Floo was the next best thing. ”Makes sense to me, we could always take the flying motorcycle though, I fixed her up real good this summer.” Aislin said with a dreamy sigh. Sure it was her brothers bike... but that didn’t mean she couldn’t “borrow” it from time to time. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
